It has been a long while since I've visited Century City Mall. The horrific traffic in Makati never fails to keep me from this establishment. Luckily, I managed to drop by one Saturday with K before a foodie gathering. And of course, a trip to Century City Mall wouldn't be complete without visiting Hole in the Wall. This time, I made sure to try some of the relatively newer concepts and I started with... Liberation Shawarma.
Enjoyed the Falafel with Rice plus Fried Chick Peas we ordered here at Liberation. The sauce is great too! The presentation is so appealing as well. I love how it’s plated.
Its one big falafel and its already good enough for me for a quick bite also the garlic mayo sauce they have its really good and its unli too! Haha
Everytime I am in Hole in the Wall, I always get the beef shawarma pita from Liberation Shawarma. I love the pita pocket that it comes in because it ensures less mess when eating it. There is also super many beef! So much value for your money. I also love that the garlic sauce is unlimited. I refilled 6 times! It's so good, I eat it like it's soup! :)
@maniladiningdiary
Gave this a chance since I'm running out of options. Menu selection is quite limited hence I opted for the falafel on pita bread. (I'm forever in diet, rice is a no go haha)
I like the falafel itself, I think the flavour is on point and I love the fact that they're not skimping on greens. The pita bread is on the thick side (hello carbs) though with the yogurt sauce everything worked well.
To be honest I was quite surprised when I saw the fried chickpeas, I was like why did I order that? I have this picture on my mind that it is somewhat close to being a falafel. Looks can be deceiving as I fell in love with it on my first try. Though since I'm cutting down on salt, I find this on the salty side. (this is just me I guess)
Will definitely go back to try some of their stuff. Ohh they have 6% service tax but you can ask them to remove it from the bill.
This was part of a little food trip at our favorite haunt..Hole In The Wall @ Century City Mall..
My friend decided to order from Liberation Shawarma
He had the Falafel Shawarma (fried balls of ground chickpeas) with some dips on the side..I thought the Falafel was tasty (though ive had better elsewhere😉) and the pita was on the thick side..but worked for me over all.
Interestingly, he had a side of Fried Chickpeas..which I absolutely loved too..it could pass off as an alternative to nuts or chips. Crunchy little balls tasty salted and peppered. (Smoothered some on my nachos and worked well too) yum!
Price point, Its worth it in my opinion😉
I really enjoyed the food here. Beef Shawarma Rice- a generous heap of sliced beef, with a side of salad & fried chickpeas and a bowl of Basmati rice. Truly authentic.Falafel on the side- this was served on a bed of hummus. Divine! Even the hubby loved it. This will be the next entry in my book of good eats😊
I admit, I love shawarma. And what better way to eat shawarma than with rice! Liberation Shawarma gives you a choice to eat your shawarma in the traditional pita bread or paired with their yummy rice. You can also add a plate of falafel or fried chickpeas to up the Mediterranean taste even more.
Did I like it?
Yes. The taste was just right, serving was huge, chickpeas were amazing, and the salsa it comes with was the bomb! It's just a little oily and it tends to solidify over time so you better eat it fast. Overall, I can say that this is one of the best Shawarma rice I've had. :)
Is it affordable?
Not really, one plate is 380 pesos and every establishment in Hole in the Wall has a 6% service charge so it's 403 pesos per order and that does not include drinks.
Will I come back?
Yes. Those salsa and chickpeas left me wanting more. I believe it's worth every penny.
I'm so happy that they have improved a lot since i tried it when it initially opened in 2014. They serve a more generous amount of shawarma sauce and filling (beef and veggies). The pita bread is also made bigger which used to be too small for its price. Great job management! 🙂
Our first time to go to Hole in the Wall, and I was in complete awe to see the place. The concept is really impressive and well thought out. Aside from that, yu husband, daughter and I enjoyed the Beef Shawarma Rice that we ordered. The service was in generous servings that I shared my meal with my daughter. The food was quickly delivered to our table, and the staff were really attentive and accommodating. For the price, I think it was worth it. Will definitely return! :)
The thing I like about Hole in the Wall is about having a choice what to eat. This holds especially true if you're in a group of people. It's not just the choice that they got right, it's the quality of the food themselves as well. I had the chance of visiting Hole in the Wall again recently thanks to our company's Christmas party.
Since there are a lot of us, we had a chance of trying out one of everything. I choice liberation shawarma because it looks the most appetizing for me at the time that I was there.
I got ordered their beef shawarma rice meal. it comes with some salat and their Fried Chickpeas. Before I get to the beef itself, I'll just go right away and say that their Fried Chickpeas is the best! It's very savory and I like that they used tomato sauce in it. It's good enough that it took my attention away from the real star of the show which is the beef it self. The beef is really really good. It's very juicy and the marinate or seasoning that they applied on it is on point. I really liked everything on the plate and well worth my money.
Overall, I'll say that liberation shawarma is reasonable. Everything from the beef up to the sides is well crafted and presented. The taste is perfect and perfect for those people looking for a hearty meal. Just prepare to spend a little high though.
Had lunch here with my boss. I love everything except that my order took 30 minutes 😒 but waiting time was worth it. The crunchiness of the pita bread on every bite was really good. Plus good amount of beef and vegetables. Meal isn't complete without their sauces

Good shawarma place with big servings. They have a lot of sides as part of the regular order. The price points are on the high end. Also note service charge is included in your bill
Give me death or Liberation Shawarma!
While i was roaming around HITW, i decided to have some white fries. Yes, you heard it right - WHITE! Deep fried potatoes drowning in white powdery stuff. I dunno what the white stuff is made of, best guees is cheese or cocaine! I'd better ask Mr. White. Why the coke reference? Well, these babies are extremely addicting, i saw some dancing unicorns after the first bite. And don't expect catsup, yogurt x bell pepper dip perhaps? Yes, this dip is the stuff of legends! Works well with the fries - tangy and reeks of bell pepper.
If you dig odd flavour combinations, head on to Liberation.
Got the beef salad, which was quite filling in itself since the serving of greens and meat was ample already. Beef was well-seasoned (though texture could be a little less tough) and salad dressing was nice and tangy. Ended up getting their fried chickpeas (which were also good) but only because they ran out of falafel on a Saturday night :(
Ambiance is great in this place as always.
The shawarma is quite unique too, pita is thicker than usual but not bad.
I really hope they put extra sides with this.
It is also quite cheap compared to the other stalls.
A little bit pricey for their menu, but I guess everyone in Hole in the wall is. I tried their Pork Shawarma with rice and it sooo heaven! :D
First time to try their food last Sunday, staffs are very friendly and enternatining. Food are so tasty and delicious, they are quite too pricey for their servings.
IMPRESSION:
Liberation Shawarma is not your ordinary shawarma. Forget about those shwarma wraps you buy at the mrt station. This shawarma is legit and 100% authentic. It's nice that they have beeping buzzers that alarm customers that their food is ready instead of giving out numbers and repetitively calling out names in the counter.
FOOD:
Love the sauce! The side dish complements the overall taste of the dish. Gave it a 4.0 rating because the price is too high. But, the flavor just keeps me coming back for more. The dish is good for 2 people and is heavy in the stomach.
AMBIANCE:
As Liberation Shawarma is located in Hole In The Wall, all I can say is that the place adds more meaning to the dining experience. Their shawarma definitely makes me feel like I'm part of the Middle Eastern culture.
They have a big serving of shawarma rice that can be shared for two. The beef has full of flavor but a little bit oily. Their sauce however is not that spicy. Still, with the big serving and generous amount of beef, this is value for money.
This shawarma satisfied my cravings the fist thing i noticed is the huge serving of shawarma!
Trust me this will satisfied your tummy and your shawarma craving! In affordable and reasonable price!😊
Mother's Day dinner won't be complete without this beef shawarma. It was served in a pouch-like pita bread, heavily stuffed with beef chunks, onions, lettuce, and more. It was heaven when I first bit on it. The flavor was just magical and close to being authentic. The garlic yoghurt sauce was a delight as well.
In my quest of searching for top shawarma in the metro, I have accidentally bumped into this restaurant situated inside Hole in the Wall at the Century City Mall in Makati.
The menu is not overwhelming, but the food is superb. I had their Beef Shawarma Rice Plate w/ extra rice which cost me P410. It is quite pricey but the serving is generous. What made the price more worth it is the taste and quality of their shawarma. The beef is well seasoned and there is a harmony of spices playing through each bite. It is accompanied by vegetables, flavored beans and herbed basmati rice topped with butter
This will definitely be one of my most favorite shawarma dishes in the metro.
Shawarma fit for a queen. Generously stuffed and just right for its price. From all the competing stalls, I'm glad to give my first try and fall to the enticing aura of Liberation Shawarma. Thumbs up!
FOOD It's good! Proportions are bountiful. Flavors are on the dot. I'm still drooling when I think about it. Yum yum!
SERVICE Fast food service. They'll give you a device to inform you that the food is ready. They are also friendly and helpful. Good job!
PLACE Hole in a Wall in Century Mall! It's a beautiful area with indoor and outdoor dining areas. Beautiful area. We even stayed here just to talk. Thank God we dropped by.
PRICE Pricey. It's a food court for the expensive taste. Still I won't hesitate to eat here again. So many choices.
OVER-ALL Yes! I will come back. Yey!
LATE REVIEW:
With all the variety available at Hole-in-the-wall, it's usually hard to decide on just one restaurant to eat at. If you're in the mood for Middle Eastern though, Liberation Shawarma has just what you are looking for.
The menu may be limited but the flavor sure isn't. A choice between shawarma, fries, dipitas and salads can quiet your hunger pangs. Being a fan of flavored fries (who hasn't grown up with potato corner?) we ordered the spiced fries with dip (one of the perks is that you could fill-up on their strong flavored white 'garlicky' sauce and red 'spicy' sauce). The fries are not crispy but they are absolutely full of Middle eastern flavor (something not yet offered in potato corner). As for shawarma, we opted to order the falafel on pita. As a vegetarian option, you can't go wrong with the strong flavors. More bang per bite. It can however be a bit dry - but nothing some of their spicy sauce can't fix. Be prepared for a flavor explosion!

Be smart in ordering and trying food here, the flavors of their offerings are very strong. Their falafel are good but has an umay factor so I don't recommend getting it for your taco, just an appetizer. The chickpeas are good for beer snacks, a healthy alternative.
The Beef shawarma rice was average tasting. I love the Chickpeas with white cheddar, once you pop you can't stop. I'll make sure to take home some next time. The place was freestyled. Not your ordinary foodcourt mall. They have servers to attend to the customers needs.
Shawarma to the next level.
It was a blessing in disguise that most of the stores were closed when we arrived at Hole in the Wall area. I'm not a big fan of persian cuisine. I eat shawarma yes but I wont jump off my seat for a kebab you know what I mean.
Liberation Shawarma is classy and a bit snobbish that kept me intrigued.
it did not fail. They were serious in making gourmet meals. They are one of the few shops that close late so getting a middle-eastern dish craving late at night won't be a problem.
You can drown yourself with their unlimited garlic sauce for free too.
Shawarma is one of my favorite foods. My friends and I tried Hole in the Wall and one of the stalls that we went to was Liberation Shawarma. It's like an innovative shawarma, a different kind. I liked it and I will definitely try it again.
One of the food stalls I tried in hole in the wal at Century mall. And it was one of the worthy tries in my gastronomic adventures! I already tried the beef shawarma salad and fries a few months ago and the shawarma rice yesterday. All of them are very good but I prefer the salad more than the rice. :) This is surely a must try eat when going to Century Mall.
Went to Century Mall because we were going to eat Dinner at Cali burger.
We decided to go to hole in the wall after and we came across liberation.
Wanted to try the shawarma but we ended up getting something lighter and chose
White Fries with Bell Pepper Yogurt Sauce
They had unlimited yogurt sauces both original and spicy. Bursting with flavor.
Overall it tasted really good!
Serving size was big.
Will Definitely go back to try their shawarmas!
Tried their Spiced Fries and I liked it. Didn't like my chosen dip so I got the garlic sauce instead and it was heaven, loved the stingy garlic and it felt like pure garlic puree. Would try their shawarma next time, it's expensive.
I was looking for a spicy, healthy meal on a Sunday afternoon, and decided to try this place. Their shawarmas were huge! I finished it with great difficulty. Tried the pork one, which was very flavourful. The dips on the side were also really nice. I am told that the beef shawarma is slightly more spicy. Wanted to try their chickpea version, but it wasn't available.
Really filling shawarma which seemed just right for the price. I had the chickpea shawarma and it was a huge serving. It's basically a falafel in a wrap. I didn't get to try the chicken, beef, etc because they were sold out. Liberation basically serves high-end shawarma.
Pork effin shawarma sounds so bad it's so gooood! I was mighty glad they didnt serve beef before so got the chance to have a taste of this. Unique and appealing aroma for shawarma maniacs like myself. Dont miss their super spicy sauce. It's hella good!
I only ordered their beef fries and it was really good. It's like eating a shawarma on fries which was surprisingly a good combination. The flavor was rich and strong but not too much to numb your tastebuds. However, if you're going somewhere else after you eat I don't recommend it because it leaves a strong and awful garlic smell which sticks for quite a long time.
I am not really a fan of shawarmas....i find them "nakaka bad breath" but since this is a shawarma with a twist, I decided to try it for dinner tonight. This is again one of the many fancy food stalls inside hole in the wall. The stall is designed to look like a food truck which I believe is a very apt concept for hole in the wall.
The menu is quite simple, offering shawarma cooked the traditional way, but served in a pita bread or with rice, and with your choice of meat, beef or pork or vegetarian as in chickpeas. they also have fries which you can have as a side dish or topped with meat as a meal. they have "unlimited sauce" the spicy yogurt garlic sauce and the even spicier shatta which is a brown sauce. don't be fooled by shatta's very friendly brown color. it may look like some kind of gravy but the spiciness level can actually make your nose run in seconds. Drinks were a choice of soda or bottled water.
I ordered the rice meal, and it was really good. The pork was cooked just right, very tender and flavorful, and the rice was also just right. It is served in a bowl and its quite a big serving. The meat itself is flavorful enough even without the sauce. My friend had the beef in Pita bread which was also good.
Price wise, i think they are a bit pricey considering that you could buy a good shawarma nowadays for a third of their price. but considering the big servings and the big bold flavors, i think it's just reasonable.
Liberation Shawarma is a shawarma with a twist. The owner of this was able to preserve the taste of a classic shawarma, and introduce new sauces and flavors from around the world at the same time. The food stall is designed like a food truck, it’s wider and more spacious than a typical shawarma stall too. The shawarma contain vegetables and your choice of meat like chicken, pork, and beef. This is different from the rest because of the sauce dressings and side dishes. The shawarma can be served with sauces like Shatta (Egyptian chili sauce) and Toum (Lebanese yogurt with garlicky finnish), and it can be served with a side-dish of salted fries if you like! You should try the Beef Shawarma Shatta and Toum and the 3 pcs. Pita w/ 2 sauces (Hummus and babaganoush). It’s the right place for a new and exciting Shawarma experience!
I have never quite eaten a shawarma just like how Liberation Shawarma does it. When I first ordered my Pork Shawarma, I don't think I properly thought that one out. I initially didn't have an idea how big their serving was until I saw others before me picking up their orders. I was overwhelmed when I got my food... I didn't know how to start haha! But anyway, I wasn't all that impressed by it. It was an "okay" kind of shawarm and I'm pretty sure I've tasted better!
I'm a huge fan of shawarma. If you love spicy foods then you'll appreciate this place. We ordered the Beef Shawarma, Falafel, Fries and Dipitas. Overall, foods were great. They used lots of herbs and spices which made the food was so strong in taste. Also, their sauces was so strong that I couldnt handle it anymore. It turned that my tongue felt so numb. I kinda not enjoyed my food and kinda pissed, didn't expect their foods and sauces would be so spicy that I couldn't taste the food anymore. We can still taste the garlic, spices etc. for hours. We ate something sweet just to let go of the taste of it on our tongues. We just like the food literally, except for the sauces and OA spices.
I ordered the beef fries here and I can honestly say that taste is a bit odd but not bad. I can't quite pin point what it is about it. Overall not a bad experience though.
Chose to eat here on a busy Friday night but despite the dinner rush stress, the staff were still smiling and I even caught one of them dancing! :)
Had the beef shawarma rice and white cheddar fries. The fries were really good and my brother loved them because they were sooo cheesy! As for the shawarma rice, not the best I've had but it was still pretty good. The beef was tender and flavorful but the serving was a bit too big for me and I kind of got tired of it halfway through. Take advantage of their unlimited sauces! The white garlic(?) sauce makes everything better. :) :) Will probably come back to give their beef fries a try!

Spiced Fries! I love the dip i got! Chili cheese with some herbs!
Why do we have to pay the service charge when it's a self service thingy? Tsssk.
We ordered our side dishes from this place since we ordered a few main dishes already. What we got were the Beef Fries and Spiced Fries with Funky Cheese Dip. Ohhhhh these fries were really tasty! I must say, these fries aren't your ordinary fries and you should definitely try it.
I need to come back for the shawarma to give justice to this place.
I'm a fan of kebab and shawarma... But i think their shawarma's taste is too strong or is it just me? 😂😭 I only got to bite it 2-3 times i think... BUT I LIKE THEIR FRIES!! Seriously!! 😍👍
The Shawarma reminded me of my favorite Döner Kebabs in Germany. The flavors, however, were too strong. Will try their fries next time.
I tried their Beef Shawarma Rice. Thanks to the free and unlimited sauce for making it really tasty. The rice is also good though. The price is kinda enough for their serving. I am not that impressed in their pork salad. I do not what I am eating. But it is just okay. Not that bad but also not that good. I just really love their sauce. The staff are also not that friendly. Bleh. They are not rude but they are not even smiling.
Had the beef shawarma and it was so packed with meat it awakened my inner primal beast! It's great that they serve it in pita packets instead of the usual street street style rolls that way you get to enjoy it without any embarrassing accidents of dripping sauce all over your shirt (or worst.. Pants!).
We also had the fries with hummus, its creative, but just totally did not work, texture wise hummus is too thick to get scooped up by fries and the profile of having both things starchy eaten together is a bit odd. they're both better if eaten separately rather than together!

Pork Shawarma (Pita) - the meat is tasty and the serving is very generous. The pita bread looks like a bread pocket, and it's delicious. Although I was overwhelmed by the oil that marked the wrapper. Hope they tap it with tissue next time to reduce the oil.
Spiced Fries - I had the one withe cheese dipitas and it's good. Although there's too much pepper in my opinion. But the cut, texture and taste are great.
We tried the Liberation Shawarma out of all the shops at Hole in the Wall because of their fries.
We weren't disappointed with the fries because it was good. Aside from fries, we also ordered their beef shawarma which was great. What I dont like is that the pita bread was a bit dry and cold. I also find the pickled veggies too sour.
And to those who are budget conscious, this may come very pricey compared to the ones you'll find in food kiosks which are normally priced 50-100PhP. Although i can assure you that the great flavors and the generous servings make the price worth it.
When I got to try Liberation Shawarma, it's still their soft opening so I consider it why the shawarma served to us has a very limited sauce. But I think they already acted on that since my friend who tried it recently said that they served with a good amount of sauce. The shawarma, on the other hand, is unique since the pita bread is not your ordinary pita bread, it's fluffy and almost resembling a bread. They are using falafel for the beef, I think. They also have a wide selection of spices which give the shawarma a better taste. The fries, however, is a bit salty for me.
I'm not really a fan of Shawarma until I tried Ebeneezer's in Hong Kong. From then on I told myself that nothing will compare to their shawarma. Then Liberation Shawarma happen, and it's even better. My friend got us the beef shawarma, it isn't like your typical beef + pita bread then rolled into a burrito and that's it. I've never seen a shawarma that's so well constructed. It was served it a pocket pita making it easier to eat. The combination of beef and veggies plus shawarma sauce is perfect, even if all of the ingredients have their own flavor it compliments each other. The serving was quite big and can be shared for two. And comparing to the other restaurants in Hole in the Wall this one is quite affordable. We really loved it!
