I’ve been looking for a place around here with decent lobster quality & this place did not disappoint at all. Quite possibly the best lobster roll & especially lobster grilled cheese we’ve tasted this far. For a second, it made us forget we were in the PH & sent us back to Pier 39 lol.

Order:
- Lobster Roll 5/5 (Flavor is bomb. They didn’t skimp out on lobster pieces nor sizes. The bread is delicious & so stuffed that the lobster barely fit 😍)
- Lobster Grilled Cheese 5.1/5 (Prob our fav. The cheese is delicious & great quality. Not like eden or something lol. & the lobster tastes delicious. Ugh)
- Garlic Noodles 5.1/5 (These mfs taste FIRE. We barely had them on our tastebuds & we were already in love. Omfg)
- Crab Grilled Cheese 3.5/5 (This was ok. If you’re trying to save money but still want to try something out, this is still good to try! But the lobster ones are just next level)

Y’all betta order those first 3 I mentioned & have ur minds blown lol.

I decided to try the garlic noodles here since everyone has been raving about them. They were super good! It's a really good steal at the price as well. The noodles were cooked perfectly and they had a nice sweet and savory flavor to them. I can't emphasize enough how good they were. This is one of the cheaper but most delicious dishes they have at The Grid. 🥰

Bun Appetit    for the family is synonymous with Lobster Roll.

On our first visit at The Grid some moons back, this was  the first stall we tried. The hefty price tag was expected. After all, you will be eating lobster which is well, usually exorbitantly priced.

Fast forward to a few days ago,  found myself at Bun Appetit again eager to reconnect with my lobster craving...

The Powerplant Mall has been our go-to destination ever since my cousins, sisters and I were growing up, and as the years went by, so did it grow... Literally! Now, the mall features a new extension, and with it, a posh food court by the name of The Grid Food Market. Curious with their offerings (and because I've heard about a delicious but pricey lobster roll from my aunt), I checked out the stall in question.

Bun Appetit, aka Stall 11, features the goodness of seafood, from fresh crabs to lobsters, shrimp and more. These are the goodies we tried out:

🦞 Lobster Roll (₱695): the very reason we headed here in the first place, these rolls feature hotdog buns brushed with butter on the sides, along with a helping of equally buttery pieces of lobster in between. Although not a replica of the rolls I've enjoyed in Japan and Hong Kong (since those have really large, juicy pieces of lobster), this one is a clear contender that comes close.

🌽 Grilled Corn (₱170): being a big fan of corn, I couldn't let this chance pass up. Their corn, unlike most generic buttered ones, comes with a refreshing touch of lime that really works well with the smoky grilled flavors and the natural sweetness of the corn. Overall, it's a complex mix of flavors that's addicting.

🍝 Garlic Noodles (₱150): another side dish that I'll miss (because my sister finished most of it and didn't share 🙄), these thin, garlicky noodles are deliciously cheesy and greasy, good ol' fun. It's like instant noodles, only fancier and not processed.

It’s my first time to try Bun Appetit’s Lobster roll & I was not disappointed. It was super fresh and tastes like heaven on my mouth 🤤 (seryoso!!) I was surprised lang how small it is with the price 700+ but I kinda understand naman na mahal talaga lobster 😅 I will definitely try other food next time!

I can't think of any other food hall restaurants that serve warm brioche, lobster sandwiches and delicious clam chowder soup as well as Rockwell Powerplant's Bun Appetit.  This food stall is located in the high end Food Court named The Grid inside the Rockwell Powerplant Mall.  Each customer receives a LED lit/buzzer pager that signals when your food is ready.  What's nice is that you can actually see your food prepared.   However, what's not cool is that it's very difficult to find a table with seating on weekends.  I highly recommend Bun Appetit, you will not be disappointed.  Enjoy!

The lobster roll looks quite pricey when you first see it on the menu but when you have it warmly served in front of you, you'll know that it's worth it. Soft bread with savory sauce over generous serving of real lobster meat. Delicious. I also tried the crab roll and i might love it more than the lobster. Can't wait to try the shrimp one next time!

This was my third time eating a lobster roll.
The first time I tried something like this was in Luke’s Lobster Osaka.
The next one was in HK with a 50% discount using Eatigo.
They are very generous with the amount of lobster they put. (They should as one order will cost you 700+)
The taste is quite similar with the ones I have tried abroad.

T’was worth it! The bun is like a french toast. The crab meat is stuffed well and the great flavor just fills in your mouth. Take time and experience it yourself. Surprise your family and friends with these take out! 🤩😋

Although pricey, I find it worth it because the lobster is just soo good and seeing them prepare it fresh in their kitchen is a good sign as well, as they have big lobsters 🦞 in there.

The bun is really soft and buttery, and I’m not sure what else is in it but seemed like some type of white cheese? Which also complimented it as a whole. They use the claws in their rolls but I wish they used the tail as well 🙊

I’ve been craving lobster rolls so decided to go to Bun Appetit. I used to look forward going to Salcedo Market in Sunday’s to fulfill my cravings so I’m super happy they opened at The Grid. The lobsters are succulent, tender and sweet. It’s a perfect match with the bread.

I finally got the Lobster roll. It's so delicious. I loved the flavors and the soft bun. I also tried the corn and It's so yummy too. Really, everything was expensive but the taste was worth it.

Bun Appetit is located in the Grid, seating during non peak hours is not a problem.

Unfortunately, no lobster available so I'm trying these two flavors. It's okay. Bun is buttery, light and commendable. Not a fan of the crab meat flavor, I find it bland.

Went straight for Bun Appetit when we were at The Grid for lunch. Been meaning to try the Lobster Roll but always hesitated because of the hefty price tag. Decided to go for it since I would be sharing it with hubby anyways (aside from the other dishes we ordered hahaha). It was good, tasty and worth trying at least once. Still think its pricey for an ordinary lunch.

The Garlic Noodles came highly recommended by my cousin. Loved how simple and straight up delicious it was.

They have other interesting items on the menu which I would like to try and then maybe i'll pair it with a bowl of Garlic Noodles.

I am happy that they have a stall outside the usual weekend markets. While the price for a lobster roll is more than what you would pay for an average sandwich, I will still order this on occasion. For the lobster mac n cheese, I liked that they baked it in a ramekin, but felt that they scrimped on the lobster meat. The cheese flavor is good and complex (more than 2 kinds of cheese, I guess), but prefer a stronger cheddar flavor.

Their Lobster Bun is really good. Fresh and whole meaty goodness. Less than 6” for P695 may be a bit pricey but eating it is an experience I’d love to do again (next time with the hubby). The bread is both buttery and lemony, at the same time nice and crusty. Yummy and definitely drool-worthy.

We had the Garlic Noodles sides and the Grilled Corn. Garlic Noodles is garlicky and sweet at the same time, very asian style. Quite simple but good. Grilled Corn was also nice.

The lobster roll, while on the pricey side, is excellent. Has generous servings of lobster on a buttery bun. I would recommend this over the crab roll. If you're hungry however, one roll may not be enough. Service was quick.

I have always wanted to try the Lobster Roll at Bun Appetit, but never had the chance to. Going to the Legazpi Sunday Market seemed to never work well with my planning. Plus, I heard that they sell out fast, and it would hurt my foodie feelings if they ran out of stock by the time I go there. Thankfully, they have their own branch in The Grid, and I was more than happy to finally try it out.

The Lobster Roll was fantabulous! The lobster pieces themselves were nice and plump. The meat was nicely costed in a buttery sauce, but not so much that overpowered the meats natural sweetness. Serving quantity of it is, actually generous and overflowing.

The roll itself was wonderful too. A perfect vessel to carry the lobster meat. It was crisp, toasted, and buttered too.

All in all, the roll was heavenly. 😋🤤❤️

Food: 5.0 - Definitely worth trying! Life-changing!

Price: 5.0 - Over P700 for the roll sounds expensive. But the lobster meat is not local. Actually, it comes from Maine--Maine lobsters are the best in the US. And Maine is where the lobster roll originated.

Service: 5.0 - Friendly and knowledgeable with the specialties they sell.

Ambience: 5.0 - The Grid is a modern and high-end foodcourt. Perfect place to sell such jeweled dishes.

How can I forget their hotsauce?! The tangy, spicy sauce is a must try! The other rolls and dishes are on my must try. Till next time. 👍🏻

Steamed lobster drizzled with butter and lime on a soft in the inside, crunchy on the outside bun.

Bun Appétit's lobster bun is one of the best in the metro.

I had the lobster mac ‘n cheese. The lobster pieces are served generously, so you kinda get a fair value for your money. Mac ‘n cheese wasn’t anything special though. But you know, how can you go wrong with it? The dish was served piping hot, but that made me enjoy it better.

My number one favorite in The Grid! I got Bun Appetit’s Crab Roll. The bun is light and crispy on the outside. And it’s topped with a generous amount of crab meat. Really good and worth the price.

Food was great esp the garlic noodles. Goes well with the crab or shrimp bun (unfortunately lobster was not present on the menu at that time) friendly staff and will suggest you what goes well with each food esp if it is your first time.

Heaps of fresh plump shrimp and creamy indulgent crab on a bread. Just the perfect way to end the night. Too bad the lobster was sold out. We’ll try that one next time.

It’s probably been a couple of months already since The Grid Food Market has opened in the new wing of the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, Makati. It has easily become one of our favorite dining spots around town, well, because it’s new and also, the food selection has been great so far even though there are still some stalls that are yet to open. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing about one particular stall that has a really huge following of seafood-lovers to The Grid! It’s been really famous in Salcedo Market and its owners has finally brought it inside a mall. If you are into seafood and sandwiches, you will surely love this EATSperience of ours! Get your tummies ready as we share about Lobster Roll and so much more at Bun Appetit in The Grid Food Market, enjoy!

For Php 695, the lobster roll is quite expensive - but what can you expect? It’s lobster! I have read several reviews here in Zomato and cannot understand why other people give low ratings.

First, the brioche was freshly baked and the claws were big and juicy. For people who complain that it’s expensive, you’re paying for quality. I guess the only “complain” I would have is that it’s an expensive food for a “food court”, something you can’t enjoy with the ambiance.

After the sad commentary that is "Buy Bust," I proceeded to Bun Appetit to take my late lunch and be in a happier state.

Bun Appetit is one of the crowd-drawers at the Salcedo Market every Saturday from 8am till about 2pm. They are famous for their Maine-style seafood rolls. They have their trinity of lobster, crab and shrimp. Even though a lot of people would go for the lobster since it's a luxury food item not commonly found in restaurants, there are camps that would swear how good their shrimp or crab rolls are. One sure thing, though, husband and wife team of Iya Jimenez-Cua and Lawrence Cua have a handle on their seafood rolls and grilled cheese variants. In the Grid, they have new offerings like the lobster mac and cheese and the seafood chowder. According to Iya, it took her quite some time to develop and perfect these new offerings.

I had the lobster roll (P695) and the chowder (P220). The lobster roll was a beauty. There was roughly 100 grams of lobster on a buttered and lightly dabbed with mayo potato roll that was subjected to grilling before serving. The end result is a really delightful tactile experience since it is best eaten with your hands albeit while holding the white cardboard container. The chowder was also a successful effort by Iya and I must say, it is one of the best chowders available locally that has a good balance of creaminess and sea flavor. Needless to say, it was chock-full of clams, seafood bits and not too much of potatoes or extenders. In terms of taste alone, I would rate this a 5.0. But somehow, as I was about to leave I kept questioning value because for the same amount I could have a steak-all-you-want at Hogs and Cattle or a decent buffet at Guevarra's or one of the specials of I'm Angus. There are other options for this kind of money dining individually in a plush environment. So for value, I'd give it a 3.0.

Remember, this is an excellent roll that you should try at least once or just go on a Saturday to their stall at Salcedo where it is a few bucks cheaper.

I came here to be happy. I was satisfied, for sure...but not entirely happy.

I thank the Lord Almighty for blessing us with succulent and sweet crustaceans swimming in the ocean picked carefully by the fishermen that is then cooked to perfection with love by the owner/s of the food stall named Bun Appētit and lastly served to the hungry tummies of the people of the Philippines (Luzon mainly). Most importantly, I thank thee for the makers of Bun Appētit. They should be blessed more than the (sea)foods they serve simply because they show us that life (food life) has more beautiful things to offer (& eat). AMEN.

Lobster Mac & Cheese (w/ a hint of truffle) is really good, they serve it in a 6-8 oz ramekin & it'll cost you almost 800php (+ service charge) . If you want to get your lobster fix, the roll is a better option since it serves more lobster to php ratio.

Update: While I was uploading new photos of the sandwiches I tried tonight for the first time at Bun Appetit at The Grid, I realized I uploaded my review of the whole Food Market in Bun Appetit’s “page.” 😬 Sorry about that. I obviously thought I was in The Grid Food Market’s page which apparently doesn’t exist. 😅

Looooving this new food hall in PowerPlant! It’s beautiful! You wouldn’t want to leave and you won’t need to anyway because they’ve got you covered from appetizers to your mains up to your dessert and coffee and on some days when you feel like having a glass of wine or two, there’s a stall for that too! You can go solo on your lunch break, with friends for dinner or even brunch with your girl friends and weekend lunch with your whole family! I have so many favorites, top of the list is Bun Appetit because now you don’t have to wait for the weekend to get their rolls at the Salcedo Market (although my fave is the grilled cheese and garlic noodles) and of course, I can’t wait until La Chinesca opens so I can finally try it without having to go to the South! There are several stalls already open but so much more coming soon i.e. have yet to open.

Note: Dishes are pricier than your regular food court but that’s probably because the offerings are also not your usual suspects i.e. no Jollibee or Mcdo here of course! Plus there are trained staff serving you water, making sure the place is clean, ready to help you if you need extra plates or utensils, even someone greeting you upon entering the food hall, (and giving you a candle to shoo away flies - I hope they fix this fly problem soon!) etc., you won’t get that from your regular mall food court so don’t expect it to be of the same price point. 😉
