The food was really good. I left my socks at the table we ate at and the waiter Emer did a really awesome act of service and ran my socks to me after I was about 300 meters away from the mall. What I nice guy!! Super satisfied with the service!!
Planning a food trip? Try out the restaurants of SM Jazz Mall, and you're guaranteed a full course meal— from dinner to dessert and even drinks— that will keep you nice and full. Our first stop was at Ryu Ramen and Curry, where we got to enjoy Japanese food.
At Ryu Ramen and Curry, they serve the classics. I'm talking about ramen, gyoza, tonkatsu, tempura and curry katsu dishes that come at affordable prices, and taste great! These were the dishes we tried (special mention to the Tantanmen and Curry Tonkatsu, which were my favorites):
◻️ Agedashi Tofu: deep-fried, silken tofu in a light soy sauce and grated radish mixture.
🍤 Tamanegi: a medley of deep-fried onions, shrimp and squid with a light and crispy mouthful.
🍤 Ebi Katsu Set: fried shrimp cutlet with a crunchy golden brown batter that yields soft and flavorful shrimp.
🐮 Menchi Karasu Set: deep-fried beef cutlet with cheese in the center.
🥟Gyoza: Japanese pot-stickers filled with meat, leeks and other vegetables. Comes with a sour-salty soy sauce. Enjoy it pan-fried or deep-fried.
🐷 Pork Gyoza
🐔 Chicken and Shrimp Gyoza
🍜 Ramen: Japanese dish with a pork tonkotsu soup base, al dente egg noodles and thin slices of chasu meat.
💕 Ryu Ramen and Curry: specialty ramen that showcases a marriage of two favorites— pork broth and curry for added creamy and spicy flavors.
💕 Chasu Ramen: classic ramen full of rich pork flavors.
💕 Tantanmen: a spicy and creamy miso-based broth with ground pork.
💕 Karaage Tantanmen: an upgrade to their Tantanmen Ramen, which includes bites of deep-fried chicken.
🍛 Menchi Curry: deep-fried cutlet that comes with a creamy and mildly spicy curry sauce. Served with rice and veggies on the side.
I've been always passing by this ramen joint and was wondering what their katsu curry tastes like. And it happened sooner that I thought!
For the appetizers, we had their Tamanegi, Agedashi Tofu, and Gyoza (Pork, Chicken & Shrimp). For the mains, we have had the Ryu Ramen Curry, Karaage Tantanmen, Chashu Ramen, Katsucheese Curry and Menchi Katsu Set. I'm always craving for the authentic Japanese style Curry that's why I'm much excited to try their curry sets! Thankfully their Katsu Curry tasted average yet delicious! For the ramens, I like their chashu ramen since I'm into light soy-based ramen. The Tantanmen was a bit spicy but good. Their gyoza are also delectable, and the tamanegi is my new fave appetizer (crispy battered onions, squid, and shrimps). I haven't tried their tofu since I'm not a fan of that stuff.
The ambiance of the restaurant feels very Japan, great resemblance with wall art and interiors. Thumbs up for their manager and the staff for being attentive. Hoping to come back soon and try their Donburi's!
RYU Ramen & Curry is the perfect place for both ramen and curry rice dishes.
My favortites here are....
Agedashi Tofu - deep-fried tofu
Tamanegi - a wonderful mix of deep-fried battered onions, shrimps and squid.
Chasu Ramen - light broth with pork slices
Karaage Tantanmen - spicy ramen topped with large Japanese fried chicken
Menchi Curry - Japanese breaded and deep-fried ground meat patty. Served with a curry sauce.
Go to SM Jazz for the 1st time and find this hidden gems. I try their curry rice and my husband choose ramen curry. Both are super delicious! Price worthy but portion is rather small.
Food here are tasty and the prices are reasonable. We usually come here whenever we crave for a ramen because their proportions are big or worth the price. Though i think their service can be better. Some waiters are inattentive.
Ryu Ramen SM Jazz is my quick go-to whenever I crave for ramen because of its proximity to places I frequent. I always order Gyoza whenever I visit any Japanese resto. And Ryu Ramen’s did not fail.
But for this visit we ordered:
Ryu Ramen Curry - your usual ramen with pork but with a thicker soup flavored with curry.
Chicken Karaage Tantanmen - a thick soup of tantanmen with 3 pieces of yummy chicken karaage. Next time, I will ask for my chicken karaage to be served on a separate platter so the crunchy skin will not get soggy because of the broth.
Tamanegi - it has everything I love! Shrimps, squids and onions...chopped/shredded and mixed together, coated in tempura batter. Comes with ginger tempura sauce. Oh, how I’d love to come back for another round of this.

Ryu Ramen and Curry is one restaurant that we keep coming back to. First, it’s because of the food, of course. Second, it’s just at SM Jazz Residences, which is at the ground floor of our condominium. Ryu Ramen and Curry is a homegrown brand but judging from the taste of their offerings, you would think that it is an authentic Japanese restaurant. It is owned by singer and songwriter Mr. Ogie Alcasid together with several partners. We first had a taste of Ryu’s ramen at the time when we were just starting to get curious with that beloved Japanese noodle dish.
It was almost lunch when I finished my medical check up so since the clinic was near Jazz Residences, my friend and I decided to explore the area. Emon and I ended having lunch at Ryu. It's just started to get busy around that time and the place was really nice - it's cool, well maintained, big, relaxing and staff were polite! I only ordered the Katsu Cheese Curry. Orders came in, and mine was served in hot steamy japanese rice, crispy pork katsu, veggies on the side and fermented raddish. I can't stop myself from eating after having my first bite of it and finishing an entire plate in less than 15 minutes. If you have a big appetite like me, you may find the serving small however, every cent was well spent here. The curry sauce was so amazingly good! Did not expect it to be that good actually.
However, the cheese inside my katsu was grainy not exactly sure if it was cheddar or what coz I was expecting its melted and stringy like mozzarella nonetheless, its really about the curry sauce!!! 👌🏻
The place is quite nice, waiters are nice too, the portion is overload for one people, the ramen taste is a bit unique tasted like they’re adding peanut sauce in it, the curry is quite ok
