Under rated resto. Still one of the best food I had when craving for Korean food
Loved the food and super appreciated the service. We ordered a serving of the beef bbq, seafood japchae, and the yangneum chicken. We loved everything, especially the japchae. Great quality and value for money
Osam is love. It's korean version of lechon but without the fat. Aburi was also pretty tasty but heavy for an appetizer. Will definitelt come back to try out their other dishes.
Staff are nice and attentive. We enjoyed our food! Zomato gold just made it even better: we ordered KFR and Yangneum fried chicken. Will definitely go back 😊
When you’re in the Philippines, Korean dining is synonymous to unlimited servings of fatty slices of meat. The abundance of unli-samgyupsal places has catered well to the way Filipinos love to eat: in groups and in large amounts. However, so many of us are also trying to be more discerning with what we put in our bodies. The new menu at GAJA KOREAN KITCHEN offers options no matter how healthy or indulgent you like to eat.
I've known about Gaja Korean Kitchen since before they opened and when my friends got the chance to eat here, I heard nothing but praises. Now that I got the chance to eat here, I can definitely say that I agree with their compliments.
Gaja, which means "Let's go" in Korean, specializes in serving Korean a la carte dishes with a modern twist. What I love about the food here is that even with the twists they've done, the spirit of the Korean taste is still in every bite. You shouldn't be looking for home-cooked meals here though, your traditional favorites have now been upgraded into fine dining dishes.
The Deep Sea Pajeon (Php 480.00) is so flavorful! Most of the pajeon's I've had were made of vegetables with a mix of shrimp every now and then. But this one had lots of shrimp if I'm not mistaken it also had squid or maybe even an octopus there. All I know is, this one had so much seafood flavor that I didn't even need to dip it in some sauce to enhance its taste.
Ohhh, the Beef Bulgogi Salad (Php 400.00): is one salad I wouldn't mind ordering again and again. I can skip the rice for this. The sweetness of the bulgogi is enough to keep me coming for more.
They also have Kurry (Php 450.00) which has different types of meat. You can choose from Pork, Chicken, or Burger. The reason why it's spelled that way is because, they incorporated some Kimchi flavor onto the curry sauce. They dried their kimchi and crushed it into powder so they can mix it with the sauce. The result was magnificent. This is coming from someone who doesn't like Kimchi (don't hate me). The kimchi balances out with the sweetness of the curry so it's a bit of sweet and spicy taste with a strong flavor of curry.
Galbi-Jjim (Php 900.00): was the highlight for me. This tender dish crawled its way into my stone-cold heart with just one bite. You don't need a knife for this, just your spoon or fork would be enough to tear this baby apart. Do you ever watch Korean variety shows where the people would just eat galbi and you would just salivate like crazy? This is that dish. Except it looks so much better in person. The serving is good for 3-4 people probably more if you order a lot.
I also ordered their Banana Milk which wasn't what I expected it to be. I wanted it to taste like the Banana Uyu I buy from grocery stores but it was just fresh banana with milk. It's probably healthier and I bet most people would prefer that but my tastebuds craved for something different that day. My fault, I was warned before I ordered this lol.
I was scared to taste their Korean Chili Lava Cake (Php 300.00): because I thought it was going to be spicy but it was very far from that. In fact, what the chili did was enhance the flavor of the chocolate which is nothing but addicting. I would definitely recommend this dessert for anyone who's looking to order one.
The Black Sesame Creme Brulee (Php 250.00): is also another great dish to order. Although I didn't taste much of the black sesame, I would say that just basing alone on the fact that this is a creme brulee dish, they aced it.
They also have the Melona Tart (Php 220.00): which is a tart made with the famous Korean ice cream. It tastes exactly how you'd expect it to taste like, it just not as cold as you're used to and Yuja Tart (Php 220.00): which is kind of like a lemon tart. I prefer this more than the Melona one.
I would definitely find my way back to this place. Looking at the menu, there are still so many dishes that I'm curious about and I also have dishes to come back for!
Had lunch here with some friends, and spent our GCs here. What we had on our table were some Korean comfort foods (for me): K-Tacos, Seoul Style Bulgogi with Glass Noodles, Yangnyeom Fried Chicken, Skewered Buldak, Signature K-Chops, and Kimchi Fried Rice.
For the appetizers, the K-Tacos were enough for us, since it's 6pcs (we're only 5pax). I loved their Glass Noodles with Bulgogi, the soup is sweet and it's really my type! For the mains, the yangnyeom chicken was a bit spicy but glazed to its goodness. Chicken was also tender. The skewered buldak-- same comments. The k-chops are also a good choice. The kimchi rice was spicier than the yangnyeom chicken, but it tastes good! Btw, they also serve free banchan every time you order here (if you dine without using food apps' discounts).
I love the ambiance and very clean restrooms. Would love to come back soon!

Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really like the modern Korean aesthetic of the place. Very good for dining in groups. Solo dining possible but tables are set up for groups.
Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The food tastes delicious. I have been here many times already but only got to leave a review now after trying the new stuff on their menu. I tried the new Kurry (see photo). It was delicious. I can taste the KimChi in the sauce. I asked the waitress if I can buy/get some of their Aburi cheese sauce as extra so that I can try it with the curry sauce but it's not possible. I hope to get that option next time. It may just level up the Kurry even more.
What I like about the place is that they give you appetizers, when you dine. So aside from the main dish/es you ordered, you get som fish tofu, kimchi, fried anchovies, etc. on the side. I find this very appealing for the Korean dining experience.
I really recommend the Aburi Sushi, Honey Butter Chicken and Pajeon on their menu. These are my usual orders.
Value for Money: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
With the price you are paying and the quality of the food, I believe that the food are priced right. They even have bentos availble for your lunch fare.
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This will be a very good modern Korean dining experience.
Tip: Look behind the large painting on the wall with soju bottle decors and you may just discover a new hangout place for your weekday to weekend nights. 😁
As a European the food was a great new experience to me. It felt like authentic Korean food and the service was good. At the back they seem to have a secret nightclub or bar, which we did not enter. The appetizer with the sushi topped up with cheese was the best I ever had. Just the ambiance could be a little bit nicer, but we will return for sure.
The best korean restaurant!!! ❤❤❤ galbi-jim is the best! The Kimchi fried chicken was also juicy and tasty with a hint of spice ❤ their army stew is so refreshing. Will definitely go back again ❤
Gaja only proves that Korean cuisine is more than samgyeupsal❤️❤️❤️ i sooo love the quality of food and service provided to us. Spicy lava cake is to die for! We will definitely come back for more and to experience their “secret bar”.
Loved everything about Gaja: food, service, and ambience. First, they serve side dishes that fill your tummies already. A friendly staff welcomes you with a warm smile. The place is spacious and the interiors are nice.
What we ordered:
K-taco 👌
Kimbap Aburi 😘
Bulgogi and Kimchi Mandu 👌
Ribimbap 👌
A bit overpriced but it's worth giving it a try. :)
Before anything else, I have to commend this place for their clean restroom! 👍🏻👍🏻
Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Serving size ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The server is courteous, knowledgeable on their food, recommends well, clean ambiance, best food I have tried, kimbap aburi, Seoul beef bulgogi soup, mushroom
risotto, twice cooked dakjjim (real sarap to the bones), galbijjim (ive never eaten any galbijjim this good!!!), gaja pork chops💕💕
Huge portions. Everything was tender and flavorful. Excellent customer service. Staff was accommodating. Ambience is nice. I think it's a go-to place for a family lunch/dinner. There is not a single thing I did not like about this place. Worth coming back to.
Great ambience and superb food! The chicken with honey and the kimchi fried rice were delicious! Very good customer service and the side dishes that were solved were also amazing! Be aware though, that the side dishes can only be refilled once, and not unlimited, when using Zomato Gold privileges.
I've been eyeing this restaurant for weeks already, and I finally got to eat here. Their location is on the 2nd floor, which made it difficult to locate. Good thing they have staff waiting outside that would happily guide you to the restaurant itself. Their service is incredibly terrific, your water glass wouldn't last a minute being empty – they'll fill it right away. The food on the other hand, is quite pricey, but don't get me wrong, the food is really good. I only got to try the Jjajjangmyeon and the Kimbap Aburi, but I am really satisfied with what I ordered. Will go back here some other time to try out their bar – "The Odd Seoul"!
We didn’t have time to check the hidden bar, so we will come back :) Good good and service. I guess this restaurant is simply overlooked by many as it’s located on a second floor of a building. Good value, especially with Zomato!
The place is quite hidden but there are signages outside the building that lead to the exact location of the restaurant. Most of the dishes are allowed in Zomato Gold.
✅Generous serving size (mostly for sharing) - good for 3 persons
✅Outstanding food presentation
✅Delicious
we were suppose to go to circuit makati for dinner but upon reaching there was heavy traffic because of grab event.... so we searched from eatigo and we tried Gaja..... korean food at its finest..place is nice.... food is very nice..... osam la galbi signature porkchops all were good..... they have zomato promo too.... will be back soon
Coming in with no expectations (partly bc I didn't read any of the reviews), we were blown away by the service (4/5, bc the banchan wasn't refillable), food (4.5/5, we loved the Dakjjim esp the sauce. Tho, the ribimbap lack flavor) and ambiance (3.5/5, srsly it can be improved).
We weren’t able to take any photos of our food last night but I clearly remember getting all giddy and happy about it!! We had a salad (I forgot what’s it called huhu), Jjajangmyeon, and Osam. All of it was absolutely delish we forgot to take photos and just devoured all of it a bit quickly. Hehehe.
Overall, it’s a thumbs up for me and I’m down to go back to try their other dishes! 🙏🏼💕
Had our company team dinner here and we all enjoyed everything we ordered. Being a big group, we got to try everything in the menu. The food that really made a big impression were Galbi-Jjim, Ribimbap, Osam-Bulgogi, and Kimchi Fried Rice.
**Tip** Check out the big painting on the wall and pull the Soju bottle next to it to enter The Odd Seoul, a hidden bar, to enjoy Soju with Yakult and play darts.
A nice Korean joint at the heart of Poblacion. We ordered the twice cooked Dakjjim which I believe was a speciality. It took about 35 mins for the order to arrive, but it was totally worth the wait. The food was hot and the sauce had a distinct pleasant flavour.
The Korean starters were also flavourful.
We also ordered the Jjajangmyeon which I believe was relatively ordinary which I did not enjoy; perhaps due to the sweet Filipino flavouring.
The service could have been better. There was an order belonging to another table which the waiter accidentally bought to our table, before apologising and taking it away.
The ambience was nice and typical for a busy Poblacion Saturday evening. The restaurant is listed on Zomato Gold which makes it value for the buck.
Overall a nice experience!
Sumptuous Korean food served in a unique fashion. Try their Kimbap aburi, Galbi jim and Chili lava cake. Place is not your usual noisy Korean resto - perfect for gettogethers!
Chanced upon this place whilst walking around pobla and didn't regret dining.
This isn't your typical Korean food joint though. They sure know how to put twists to traditional Korean dishes. The dishes we ordered, Osam and Ribimbap, gave us an explosion of flavors and textures.
Osam - The pork was crispy and tender at the same time. It blends well with the squid and alfalfa sprouts一perfect balance between crisp and soft textures. The stuffing was also well-seasoned.
Ribimbap - It has generous servings of rib eye cubes. The veggies were crisp and served fresh. I appreciate that the sauce wasn't mixed in yet so you get to control the flavor that suits your preference. Hehe
Staff - friendly ane accommodating!
PS: One serving is good to be shared by 2 pax. :) Hope you have a great dining exp.
If you love Korean food and would like to have a leveled up experience, try Gaja. I ordered a dish which comes with their korean version of bagnet + squid stuffed with rice and it was great :) had to come back the following day for more.

I really wanted to try out my Zomato Gold, so me and a friend jsut looked for the nearest one available and went with it.
Food:
They first start you off with complimentary sides (Kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fishcakes, sweet dry anchovies and egg rolls) - 5/5
*Great bar food, I wish it was refillable but that's the only flaw I could think of.
Seoul Style Bulgogi - 4.5/5
*Okay, I didn't do this soup justice in the photo BUT it was overflowing with meat and glass noodles in the bottom so you really gottabuse the ladle to mix it up. It was perfect for the filipino tongue, tastes very familiar and you wouldn't notice you're done eating until you can't walk anymore.
Dongguan Jjigae - (based on my friend) 5/5
*I barealy got to taste it but the spice was really nice and there were a lot of goodies inside as well.
Banana Mango Shake - (didn't get a pic) 6/5
*Holy heck this shake, I wanted it to be slathered all over me. It wasn't too sweet as we expected and it was, to our delight, very refreshing. I wish I didn't save it for last cause I was too full to enjoy it, but while sipping throughout the meal, I had to stop myself cause I knew I was going to finish it before everything else.

We were absolutely surprised how delicious all the dishes we ordered! The servings were very generous. We ordered a total of 4 items which we thought would be just right for 5 pax. But we ended up taking home at least half of all the dishes. Thanks to Eatigo, we also got 30% off from the bill.
The standout was the LA galbi which practically melts in your mouth. Itaewon Army Stew was so flavorful, though a bit on the spicy side. Pajeon was a delightful appetizer which perfectly cooked crisp edges.
The restaurant has a very modern Korean look. And it has a cool secret door to the bar side of the resto.
It has free parking out front.
Service is average. We were here at 3pm so no other customers aside from us but it was sometimes difficult to catch the attention of the staff - maybe because it's a dead time.
-1 for poor signal inside the resto.

Gaja has a very nice interior, well-trained service crews and modern dishes. Though they serve Korean food, it was quite fun to taste the dishes since everything has a twist. The bibimbap was yummy, the squid risotto' texture was on point, and the chicken with carrot puree and mashed potato was really chewy and tasty! The reataurant has a bar too, so you can opt to have drinks after your meal. Can easily be located along Kalayaan. Thumbs up!
A very nice premium korean restaurant in the heart of Poblacion. Plus they are on Zomato Gold so you get a complimentary dish. I love their Royal Mandu, Seafood Sundubu Jiggae, Twice-cooked Dakjim and and Gaja Signature Chops. They also serve refillabe side dishes like Kimchi, Fish cake and egg rolls. Their Kimchi is the best kimchi i have tried here in Manila.
We ordered honey butter chicken, gaja japchae and ribimbap. My favorite is the ribimbap, it has cubed rib eye steak, mixed veggies, mushrooms and eggs and the gochujang butter made it more delish. Actually all were tasty.
A good fix for a korean crave. The food is great and the service is superb. Thumbs up to this place.
They also have a secret bar so if you’re planning to have some shots after it’s a good place to chill
Nice place and food are uniquely delicious! I would recommend to friends and family who are looking for korean cuisine and at the same time something new!
I love this place! It's not your typical korean restaurant. Very posh and gourmet. I recommend that you guys try their Honey Butter Fried Chicken and Kimbab Aburi. It's also beside Odd seoul, which is a really cool speakeasy.
Poblacion is one of the busiest places to find yourself in at night time. It's not only filled with live-music, drinking, and parties on every street, but it's also where you'll find hidden gems in terms of dining. . Gaja Korean Kitchen is one of those restaurants in the area, although it's not as crowded and dim as the others. It's located on the second floor of a building, and with its modern and spacious interiors, it is a place you'll find extremely comfortable.
Had a great lunch out with my officemates using zomato gold. All the dishes we ordered tasted great. The bibimbap and seafood pancake is a must try!

1. Side dish - Yumyum ❤️
2. Ribimbop - Yumyum ❤️❤️❤️
3. Army stew needs additional flavor
staff are very polite and attentive. restaurant is clean :)
Very good food. Try their Deep Sea Pajeon and Yangneom Fried Chicken. Love their big servings as well, 1 order is good for 2-3 persons already.
Lovely and clean place that feels like you are transported in Korea. Beautiful food presentation. We loved the korean fried chicken, osam and galbi jim.

Delicious! Will definitely comeback.
We tried the black pasta with strong spice level. I think that’s perfect level as it is spicy enough for us spicy lovers but not too much to spoil the taste.
The aburi is yummy!
The staff were nice and very accommodating.
The place is well lit and the overall ambiance is nice.
Very nice ambience and good service. The beef tertare was exceptional! Parking was a huge plus. Would definitely rate it as one of my favorite Korean restaurants. Would love to go back for drinks.
The food servings are good for sharing. The taste of the food we ordered was okay. The side dishes are a welcome change of taste in between dishes.
Kimbap Aburi (Php 360) - Beef bulgogi wrapped in seaweed and topped with cheesy sauce. The taste of the beef was overpowered by the cheese.
Twice Cooked Dakjim (Php 450) - I initially thought that the soup was going to be served alongside this dish. I was wrong. But that taste of the crispy chicken along with the mashed potato and carrot puree was okay. I did, however, find this dish to be a bit nakakaumay.
Special mention to the dish Osam (Php 450) - squid stuffed with rice. This was just mind blowing. 😋 I will definitely be back for this dish!
Jjangmyeon (Php 320) - I could taste the ginger and soy sauce a bit too much, but it was still a good dish.
One of their bestsellers that I would love to try on my next visit is is Galbi-jim. This dish, however, is not part of Zomato gold 1+1.
The place is quite spacious and clean. The place comes with a painting (secret door) that leads to The Odd Seoul, a bar that serves quite interesting drinks!
The kimbap aburi was indeed the bestseller as it was delicious and worth the price. I felt that the Kimchi lasagna was not worth its price as it has more rice and had very little pork. The bulgogi is very sweet though it is good for sharing.
Banchan is also unlimited and it’s all delicious.
Parking is available at the basement. After having dinner, you could have coffee at Starbucks just beneath the restaurant.
Our group ordered the deep sea pajeon, samgyeopsal kimbap, skewered buldak, itaewon army stew, twice-cookes dakkjim and the ribimbap.
Of the six dishes, the true standouts were the samgyeopsal kimbap and the ribimbap. Imagine eating sushi, except instead of the usual nori outer covering, it's samgyeopsal, and your dipping sauces are ssamjang and sesame oil instead of soy sauce. The kimbap was SO GOOD, the outer covering of samgyeopsal was nicely crispy and it was complemented very well by the dipping sauces.
As for the ribimbap, although the rib cubes were quite small and few and far in between, the rice was incredibly flavorful, possibly due to the gochujang butter the server mixed in. Even though I try not to eat a lot of rice, I couldn't help but finish almost half of it since it was that tasty.
The deep sea pajeon was crispy, but a bit bland. There wasn't a lot of the dipping sauce as well to make up for the lack of flavor. The army stew, twice-cookes dakkjim and honey buldak were also all unremarkable. I wouldn't order them again.
To end this review on a positive note, the side dishes were all very good! I loved the kimchi, toge, and that orangey-red pancake thingy (I don't know the name hehe). Although some dishes were unremarkable, the dishes that stood out were truly great. I'd love to come back and try the other dishes!
One of the best Korean Food I’ve ever tasted. A bit pricey but worth the money.
Servers are really nice and quick in taking your order and giving you unlimited side dishes.
The ambiance is cozy.
Serving size is enough for 2pax
This is one of the best restaurants I've eaten at lately. In fact, I would group this together with Chef Josh Boutwood's Test Kitchen and Chele's Gallery. It's that good!
It's a double celebration for us today, a birthday and a wedding anniversary. We were encouraged by the positive reviews of the place and were curious what Chef Justin Tee's Korean sojourn and culinary awards could bring to the dining table.
Gaja could be found along Kalayaan Av before hitting P. Burgos going to Rockwell. It's on the 2nd floor of Zentro Bldg. and you would enter on the door to the right of Starbucks on the ground floor. The restaurant also has a secret door that looks like a painting of a lady with her back towards you. This leads to Odd Seoul, a speakeasy bar.
Not being versed with all the Korean offerings, we turned to Allan, our server for guidance. He recommended the Kimbap Aburi (P360) for our starter and the Japchae (P350) as our noodles. For our mains, we had Kimchi Lasagna (P350), 2 Galbi Jjim (P850@), Osam (P450) and Yangnyeom Fried Chicken (P375). To partner with the lasagna, we got the Ribimbap (P480) for carbs. Then, we got both the Korean Chili Lava Cake (P280) and Black Sesame Creme Brulee (P220) for dessert. Unlocking twice we got the Osam and Kimchi Lasagna for free because zomato gold won't apply to the Galbi Jjim.
Shortly, he came out with the banchan. The quality of the "side dishes" served to open up the appetite was our introduction to the superb dining experience ahead. There was no misstep in the orchestrated entrance and the flavors were vibrant.
Though, every dish was presented well and super delicious, my faves were the mains: Galbi Jjim (48-hr sous vide Kitayama Wagyu Short Rib well worth the price, we got 2), Osam as in "awesome" (duo of whole squid stuffed with kimchi rice and braised pork belly with pressed crispy crackling, yin and yang super-duper yumm) and Yangnyeom Chicken (what Bon Chon, Kko Kko and Kyochon aspire their chicken to be). I am a chocolate person but I would recommend the Black Sesame Creme Brulee with Strawberry (silky smooth and sexy). Now I know, Chef Justin, why despite not being a Korean you won all the accolades in Korea. You're a culinary genius. Bravo!!!
Yaaas! Can’t say more! Gaja restaurant, for me, is one of the best! Our whole company ate here and all of the food were all really good! I ordered Ribimbap and it was really tasty. I also got the chance to taste the Kimchi Rice with cheese. Too bad they only have one branch and it’s far from my place.
Gaja Korean Kitchen’s service was great. They seem to know the menu well enough to recommend and explain dishes. 😊
Food was sooo good! We especially enjoyed their Kimchi Rice and Kimbap Aburi. The Kimchi Rice had cheese and was topped with egg. ♥️ It wasn’t dry and not too spicy. The Kimbap Aburi was spicier but still good. Each kimbap was topped with melted cheeeese 😭
Would recommend to friends. Generous serving size (shookt 😅), good for sharing. 👌🏻
Lunch was unplanned but I wanted Korean so we tried Gaja. Only 1 other table was occupied so service was prompt and friendly.
We ordered kimchi fried rice, medium spicy with chicken and cheese, pork chop and a beef Noodle soup. This came with the usual Korean accompaniments.
The accompaniments were all very tasty, the kimchi being very fresh and spicy tasting.
The pork chop was generous and tender, with the accompanying veggies having a nice char and bbq taste.
The soup was rich and had a nice, deep bulgogi sweetness to it, although the beef was a little chewy.
For me, the star of the meal was the kimchi fried rice - bursting with flavour, lots of shredded chicken through it, and a nice, cheeesy topping. It is the perfect comfort food. I could eat it all day.
I"m a Korean_American with a background in the kitchen, running my own Seafood Bar, avid food writer, and currently I import and distribute high end seafood...All that is meaningless as it pertains to this review as the only thing that matters is that I have grown up eating great Korean food at home in America, restaurants in America and Korea, and countless other Korean households.
I was in shock (GOOD SHOCK) given that I knew this was a filipino chef who 'delivers' on this menu.
THE FOOD IS LEGITIMATELY good with both the classic flavors as well as the fusion dishes being on point with texture, flavor profile and nuances.
My new fave Korean spot in town.
Nice place to have meal, wheelchair friendly with an elevator to get to the 2nd floor, the Galbi-jjim is a must order, easy to use with Zomato Gold 😉
Ordered the following for lunch:
- Kimbap Aburi
- Itaewon Army Stew
- Jjajangmyeon
- Galbi-jjim
I highly recommend their aburi (cheese, kimchi, nori, beef bulgogi - what's not to love??) and galbi-jjim (fork-tender kitayama wagyu ribs). The potato & carrot puree with the galbi needed more seasoning, though.
Dishes can be pricey (esp the galbi at over P800), but huge servings. Also, Gaja partnered with Zomato (Buy 1 Get 1 on food) and Eatigo (as much as 50% discount on certain timeslots) to make dining here more affordable.
Service was excellent. After we ordered, we were served with 5 side dishes (fishcakes, mungbean sprouts, kimchi, rolled omelette & anchovies), so we can already stuff ourselves up while we wait. The waiter assigned to us was such a ball of sunshine - courteous, friendly and prompt.
I have been seeing this kitchen on Instagram for some time now. So, I placed it on my checklist, and made a point of visiting this someday. And that someday finally happened. 🙂. Menu as of January 2019Menu as of January 2019Menu as of January 2019Menu as of January 2019. I did take photos of its interiors; however, they suddenly replaced the beautiful images displayed. I dined here during the early weeks of January, and they changed it towards the end of the month. Apparently, the beautiful artworks were illegally acquired. They did owe up to their mistake, and changed their display. I applaud them for being honest and apologetic to the artist. Now, let’s get on to the food.
Oh my freaking foodie god! Gaja Korean Kitchen blew my mind away and literally had me dancing in my chair as I was eating. It's actually been on my bookmarks for a few months, and I finally decided to give it a go very recently (January 29, 2019). Also, it's also on Zomato's 'Best of Manila' list, so I knew it was a must.
I was so torn as to what to order as I was alone. After much difficulty, I ordered the K-Taco, Galbi-Jjim, and Korean Chili Lave Cake. Before I get to that, I will briefly talk about the several Banchans that were served.
Kimchi - Really good! The best kimchi I have ever had. The sourness is strong, but then so is the spiciness, so it's a perfect balance.
Cucumber & Onion Kimchi - A great variation from the standard Napa cabbage kimchi.
Anchovies with Peanuts - This would be my fave amongst all 5 banchands that were served. I have had anchovies (or locally known as dilis) many, many times. But there's wasn't overly salty. Flavor had some sweetness and earthiness. It had me snacking for more.
Egg with Seaweed - Seemed like omelet slices were seaweed/nori was rolled it. The seaweed brought a different kind of saltiness into the eggs.
Oden/Fishcake - Yummy! They were a tad bit sweet. Really soaked up whatever flavor they were fried or marinaded in.
Now... On with the orders themselves!
K-Taco - Scrumtous bite size tacos! Or for some, 2-3 bites. The pulled pork is uber soft, while the kimchi tortilla is a flavorful one of a kind. The pickled veggies balance off everything.
Galbi-Jjim - This Wagyu rib is the best rib I have ever had! It's sous vide for 48 hours, which literally makes it fall-of-the-bone tender. Size wise, it's HUGE. It may only be one bone, but it is Flinstone sized. Bigger than anyones face. LOL! 😋🤤🤣 It is set upon a nice bed of mashed potatos, carrot puree and a mushroom duxelle. I finished it all. Even though it was a big serving, I didn't feel overly stuffed.
Korean Chili Lave Cake - The BEST lava cake I have ever had in my life. It was rich, but not too sweet. Chili and chocolate is a classic combination and it brought a different dimension of flavor to the dish. The vanilla ice cream was very good. I am pretty sure that it was an artisinal kind, or one made in-house. I finger licked the plate clean! I even told the waiter that they had 1 less dish to worry about washing, and he just laughed. 😂😋
Food: 5.0 - Absoloutely wonderful!
Price: 5.0 - I was able to get a 50% discount through the Eatigo app. Even without it though, the price was well worth it.
Service: 5.0 - Very friendly and excellent staff. They very well know everything they serve.
Ambience: 5.0 - I loved it! Chill, modern, minmalist vibes.
Gaja Korean Kitchen has officially become my favorite Korean restaurant ever! Will surely come back to try out their other dishes. Even made a short vlog on it, with me dancing. LOL! 😂❤️😊
My boyfriend has been wanting to try out Gaja after seeing the headturner picture of their galbi-jim along Kalayaan. We didn't order it though because it was expensive for a normal dinner so we resorted to what sounds as delicious instead.
The first bite of honey butter chicken was heavenly! It's probably good for sharing of three people. Unfortunately, I got "umay" after tasting the other two food items and it got a little heavy for me.
Ossam was probably my favorite out of three despite the stuffing being too spicy for my threshold. The pork belly was perfectly crunchy the meat lover in me moaned.
The signature chops was just okay. I have nothing bad to say about it but it's nothing special to rave about as well.
Special mention to Timmy who knew exactly what the restaurant is selling and was accommodating enough to help us out with deciding what to order. The ambience was great too despite not having windows. It was well-lit and I can see my food clearly. I think that's something most restaurants don't consider anymore these days.
I'll definitely come back to try their galbi-jim and my all-time favorite Korean food, jokbal!

Booked thru Eatigo abd saw that this K Resto rated good here in Zomato. We ordered Kimbap Aburi. It is good. 💯 Galbi Jjim is so satisfying ❤ The meat is so tender and delicious. The Osum is good as well however we are not fan of too much spicy food so we find it hard to keep eating it. It was paired with a crunchy meat like Lechon. 💯The staffs is amazing ❤ Super attentive. This really worth your money.
Unique new Korean restaurant in Poblacion. Just when every other Korean restaurant in the city seems to make grilling meat synonymous with Korean cuisine, Gaja comes along to show that the cuisine is not restricted to grilled meat alone.
We tried 2 unique dishes and then followed it with a Korean staple. Kimbap Aburi - beef bulgogi wrapped in seaweed, sushi style, and topped with torched cheesy lava sauce. Yummy! This dish is best shared in a group, cause you tend to be satiated after 2 morsels. Skewered Buldak, aka Korean Satay, is really good. Perfectly grilled chicken thighs marinated in gochujang and torched with cheese. Our staple Korean dish was Seoul style Beef Bulgogi stew with glass noodles, mushroom and tofu. Served piping hot, we found this dish somewhat sweet.
Gaja serves local beers and soju
Gaja is not your typical Korean restaurant!! Super yum unique food! Must try their honey butter chicken and aburi! 😍 Also their chili flakes lava cake is a must try!
PS. No problem with parking, they have front parking and basement parking. Check out their hidden soju bar. The door is a huge painting. They also have idarts inside there 😍
This is not your ordinary ahjumma style Korean resto. Everything in the menu has a hip vibe. The best among our order was the Galbijjim. Super soft fall off the bone korean beef. The Aburi was cheesy but have “umay” feels. I was expecting the cheese to be hot since it looked torched. Would have been nice if it was. The taco was a bit of a let down since the tortilla seemed undercooked and grainy. I’d have still given it a 5 if not for the price level.
Thanks Gaja Korean Kitchen for the delicious buffet spread during last night's Christmas party. Limited selections (based on budget) but great cooking and quickly refilled before a dish runs out. Great service!!!
The Damage (no drinks): Php 1,600-2,200 for two
Progressive Korean Fusion dining in the Poblacion area. Setting is funky Korean casual. We liked the Kimbap Aburi and loved the Galbi Jjim
~~TRY😍:

Good atmosphere, friendly staff.
Deep fried bulgogi Mandu was delicious and the drinks were great, although there was no beer on the menu, contrary to the zomato menu. By the time rice arrived the LA galbi was cold. Chocolate lava cake was a great finale for the evening. Great food and experience overall.
Nowadays, we talk about Korean restaurants as unlimited samgyupsal, KBBQ, unli, etc, and I think it shouldn't be the case. Gaja Korean Kitchen introduces traditional Korean cuisines served the modern way. First of all, Gaja means "Let's go!". With a variety of Korean dishes Gaja can offer, I can surely go back and telly my friends "Gaja". Service is excellent. Staff are very assisting. The owners were friendly and accommodating. The interiors were modern which added a cozier ambiance.
Among the dishes that they served, my favorites were:
Osam (P450.00) - 2-in-1 goodness in one dish. The slow-braised pressed pork belly is divine. It's so tender, and the skin is salty and crispy. The squid was chubby and is filled with stir-fried rice.
Kimbap Aburi (P360.00) the beef itself was tasty already, but the cheesy lava aburi sauce just made it more flavorful.
Galbi Jjim (P850.00) - these kitayama wagyu short ribs were fork-tender! It's evident how the ribs were nourished by the marinade. Just by looking at it, you'll know how savory and flavorful this dish is. No more comment! 5/5
Ribimbap (P480.00) - a bibimbap using rib-eye cubes as its star. what I like about it is that (aside from the rib-eye cubes), it was made buttery without making the rice too sticky.
Few comments on some of their dishes:
Bibimyeon (P350.00) - it's my second time to eat Korean cold noodles. It's not my favorite (to think it's a spicy food and it's cold) but yea, Gaja's version was good and I was able to consume more of it.
Honey Butter Chicken (P375.00) and Yangnyeom Fried Chicken (P375.00) - I just think it's expensive for a P375.00 considering that the serving isn't that great. It's not my favorite but this dish is tasty. It made me selfish getting one after another.
Korean Chili Lava Cake (P280.00) - surprisingly, this sweet chocolate lava cake has that spicy kick in every bite. You may not notice it because the vanilla ice cream just balanced the spiciness.
Price range is high, but the quality is there. The taste is also there. Overall experience is excellent!
We were invited to try out this restaurant right before it opened. To try the food and get our feedback as they were still on the last stages of finalising the menu.
We really enjoyed the food. Too bad I came in late and wasn’t able to see them served. Waze led me to the wrong street.
It’s a bit out of the way, but if you like the Poblacion location, this is a really good place to dine. It’s not a traditional Korean restaurant.
Exciting creations and sometimes to the point of looking unconventional, but the flavors are still so spot on authentic.
Dined here with friends on a Thursday night as we came from an event nearby. Not a big fan of Korean food (though I still love eating korean food not just something I go looking for) but my friends are so we decided to swing by here.
One thing I noticed is that the place was hard to find as apparently it’s on the second floor and the stairs are located in the far right of the building. Going through the stairs was scary coz it was narrow and kinda dark however when you get to the resto itself everything changes. You are somehow transported somewhere else. The place was really huge and very well-lit. And the smell inside the resto was very inviting.
As we were hungry, we got alot of food. Seriously a lot! My fave ones are:
* Galbi-jjim - Wagyu short ribs that are sous vide for 48hrs. The taste is so amazing and it really melts in your mouth. The carrot purèe that went with it was meh though. The potato one was great.
* Osam - This dish is made up of stuffed squid and slow braised pork belly. The skin was amazingly crispy and the sauce had a great heat to it. Not too spicy, just right.
* K-Taco - Perect appetizer! It’s like your bite-sized meal. Packed with flavors and easy to eat.
* Korean Chili Lava Cake - Wow! This one was weirdly good. Not a big fan of chilis but I seemed to like it. The cake was sweet and the chili taste can be tasted towards the end. Really great technique there.
We also got the cold noodle dish which my friends seemed to love but I didn’t. Also there’s the seafood sundubu jjiggae which was ok. Not a big fan of it but was happy because of the serving size. We also got all their kimbaps which I super duper loved (should’ve posted this in that list on top, right? Lol).
Service was excellent! The servers know their dish and they are very willing to explain. Wow! So much knowledge on how the food was prepared so I really appreciated that. Will definitely come back.
South Korean culture has heavily influenced our lives in the recent years. It’s ubiquitous, their music, movies, fashion and even food such as the famous Korean BBQ is being offered in almost every corner nowadays. They also have influenced me as I personally love watching their movies, may it be horror, suspense, comedy or romance. Ask me for recommendation of Korean movies to watch and I can give you my list of favorites. 🙂
Of all the Korean restaurants I've gone to, this must be the most fun I've had. Gaja Korean Kitchen is a foodies' haven.
Mostly decorated in gold and yellows, the place is promises modern looks but traditional flavors. This is not only evident in their interiors but more so on their menu.
Appetizers
°Spicy Salmon and Tuna Kimbap P360
- Deep-fried spicy salmon and tuna kimbap packed with unique flavors from traditional Korean ingredients
°Samgyeopsal Kimbap P360
- Samjjang rice, pickled radish, lettuce, garlic confit, and kimchi wrapped in thin slices of samgyeopsal
°Kimbap Aburi P360
- Beef bulgogi kimbap wrapped in roasted seaweed, topped with cheesy lava aburi sauce
These pretty kimbap look amazing and picturesque, all lined up in little rows. The °Kimbap Aburi has luscious cheesy aburi sauce that was lightly torched, while the °Samgyeopsal Kimbap has thin slices of samgyeopsal, enough to tickle your tastebuds.
°K-Taco P320
- 6 pieces of housemade kimchi tortilla with Korean pulled pork and pickled vegetables
These are cute small soft rounds filled with a mix of bite-sized pork and veggies. They really look like miniature tacos.
°Deep-Sea Pajeon P450
- Crisp Korean pancake with mixed seafood to be dipped in spicy Hwarang sauce
Light yet crisp, very appetizing specially with the Hwarang sauce. I don't mind the heat as the spicy Hwarang sauce goes well with the seafood pancake. Complements almost any entree in their menu!
Noodles
°Bibimyeon P350
- Traditional spicy cold buckwheat noodles (with spice levels)
I am not a fan of cold noodles, whether Korean or Ja0anese. But I lile the heft and texture of these buckwheat noodles. Gaja sort of played with flavors culled from a traditional bibimbap and applied to a cold noodle dish. The spice level for this ramyeon also hits the spot!
Soup
°Seafood Sundubu Jjiggae P350
- Spicy soft tofu soup with mixed seafood, great for sharing, a popular choice among Koreans
Very comforting, and addictive. The Koreans really know their soup, and the soft tofu mingling with all the rest of the ingredients adds character to this soup.
Rice
°Ribimbap P480
- Rib eye cubes, mushrooms, mixed vegetables, egg and gochujang butter
What makes this different is the luscious gochujang butter they add to the rice. Once mixes thoroughly, it lends an appetizing and subtle elegance to the rice. It goes well with the rib eye cubes too!
Mains
°Galbi Jjim P850
- This is 48-hour sous vide Kitayama Wagyu short ribs served with mushroom duxelle and potato and carrot puree.
Very posh, refined. I like the gritty carrot puree foiled with the smooth potato mash. The short ribs have that fork-tender, melts-in-your-mouth quality, matched with the distinct sauce and aromatic mushrooms.
°Osam P450
- Whole squid stuffed with stir-fried rice, slow-braised pressed pork belly with crispy crackling and spicy Korean sauce (with spice levels)
Spotlight's on this beauty the moment they served this at our table.
This is Gaja's version of the Korean dish called Osam-bulgogi. They used whole squid (ojingeo) stuffed with stir-fried rice, side by side the slow-braised pressed pork belly (samgyeopsal) with spicy Korean sauce. This definitely does not disappoint as the soft squid complements the tender pork belly, with the addition of that crisp crackling skin! Customize the entree with your chosen spice levels from mild to extremely spicy!
°Honey Butter Chicken P375
- Twice-fried beer-battered chicken thigh fillets, honey butter sauce, almonds, pickled radish, rice puffs
°Yangnyeom Fried Chicken P375
- Twice-fried beer-battered chicken thigh fillets, yangnyeom sauce, pickled radish, rice puffs
These are not your usual Korean 2x fried chicken! They are utterly delicious whether you like the sweeter honey butter variety or the spicier yangnyeom. The spice level for this one is just mild, but you can request a spicier batch if you feel like taking on a challenge.
Dessert
°Korean Chili Lava Cake P280
- Chocolate lava cake, infused with Korean chili powder, served with vanilla ice cream
This was decadent as it was exciting. It was sweet and satisfying. Then it suddenly hits you with a little kick of Korean Chili at the end. It's an awesome way to end your meal indeed!

I've never been to any of the Korea's; but I do know two things: SoKor is on my travel bucket list (yeah, maybe NoKor too) and I love Korean cuisine! I'm finding myself nowadays either in a Korean or a Japanese resto. I don't know what that means or if they are just calls for me to finally make plans to go to these countries. We'll see...

A great place to relax and satisfy your cravings.
Very good ambiance, very unique place. All foods are excellently delicious and well plated (INSTAGRAM ready). Perfect for special gatherings. The one to recommend. Two thumbs up!
The food was remarkably good! Gaja gives off a modern vibe to the traditional dishes from the korean cuisine. The waiters were informed of what to offer and what would go well with each menu item.
Another thing to look out for in Gaja is a hidden bar behind a huge painting inside the restaurant -The Odd Seoul. They took the classic cocktails and made their very own take-on Soju cocktails! A must-go-to place!
Good hidden place along Kalayaan. Consistent and quality korean ala carte dishes good for sharing. The only time i can give a perfect 5 if they are able to solve their small insect problem. The place is newly constructed so there are still small flying insects at the moment. If they can fix this, it would have been perfect
A NEW KOREAN RESTAURANT IS UP IN POBLACION, MAKATI! The name of this restaurant is GAJA KOREAN KITCHEN!This restaurant is in 8445 Kalayaan Avenue, Barangay Poblacion, Makati City (2nd Flr). This place is so good! :) we had the honey buttered chicken, kimchi fried rice and the kimbap aburi. Every single dish was good! :) The honey buttered chicken was a great mix of sweetness and savory and it was very crunchy. :) the kimbap aburi is apparently a popular order and it's so wonder why. The cheese was a great topping. The kimchi fried rice was super good especially once we mixed the egg in it. It gets really spicy though but you have the option to incorporate cheese into it. :) the place is also very nice and quite dainty. Service is super good and the servers were very attentive. :)

Gaja Kitchen is a great alternative to the usual all-you-can-eat Korean meat restaurants we have all around. At Gaja, they serve authentic Korean dishes with modern twists.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very bright and grand, which is a very refreshing aura to dine in. The entire place is decorated very elegantly.
Some must-try’s are:
• Honey Butter Chicken - if you’re a fan of the honey butter flavor, you’ll LOVE this dish! It reminds me of a better-tasting Bonchon Chicken
• K-Tacos - these are wrapped in kimchi tortillas, giving it a completely distinct Korean flavor
• Deep Sea Pajeon - this is your classic Korean pancake but what really gives it that extra kick is Gaja’s special hwarang sauce
• Gaja Signature Chops - these 24-hour brined pork chops are so tender

(A)mbience:
The place is simple but speaks of elegance. Earth colors fill the room with splashes of colorful paintings that depict Korean culture and the arts. A wall is lined up with Soju giving you the license to just drink and be merry. Make sure to ask about the not-so-secret room and for sure you will doubly enjoy there after eating a hearty Korean meal in their restaurant.
(B)utler Service:
Two thumbs up to the servers! They give a meaningful and very informative answers when asked about the food which will make you appreciate more what you are eating. They are attentive to your needs and provide your requests as soon as they can.

Gaja Korean Kitchen during their soft opening period used to be open only during late afternoon/early evening. They will now be open for lunch too. Chef Marc Justin Tee offers his version of South Korean cuisine to Gaja Korean Kitchen customers. We were able to sample some of their food offerings (and later drinks too).
