A few years ago, a close friend dragged me to eat pho at this place. I HATE silantro... to the core! Which is why I said my friend had to dragged me to eat here. I ordered their Saigon Pho and I was hooked. We also shared fresh spring roll and it was perfect with pho. The place was renovated since then but I never had a problem getting a table. This place definitely one of my favorite places to eat whenever I'm in Makati.

It's been a long time since we dined in a Vietnamese Restaurant and we're delighted with the experience. We love how healthy and fresh the dishes that have been served to us.

We tried the Beef and Beef Balls Noodle Soup, Fresh Spring Roll and Grilled Pork with Lemon Grass served with Tomato Rice.

This restaurant is true to it's name and we'll definitely comeback.

Wants to have ramen but doesn’t want the thick taste of broth? Then Pho it is! Eating a hot Pho with beef balls while raining outside is satisfying. It became my comfort food ever since I discovered it. For only Php270, your tummy will be filled with hot Viet noodle soup. Pair it with Fresh spring rolls or fried spring rolls, whatever suits you. But I prefer fried as the vinegar dip is tasty.

It was a decent pho, especially for its price range. Presentation of the rolls could have been better, but it tasted good. The service crew did their best to accommodate, but the place could get packed quick.

The traditional Vietnamese Chicken Pha is among the best at this restaurant. This compares equally to the Pho that I have had in Hanoi.
The Chicken broth is just right, the shredded chicken is tender and the chilli sauce adds the finishing flavours. The mint leaves when added to the soup gives it a delightful taste.

PHO BAC
2nd flr, Glorietta 2

Was already tired from my day and also tired of window shopping, I always see this everyday but never ate in here. Everyday around 6pm I would see this place always full of people but I never wonder why, now I know.

Its around 1830 and man, the place is almost full, lucky enough there is still a vacant seat for me. I sat alone and my eyes wander around. Place is so small, very simple chairs and tables, not so much fancy decorations (sorry did not took pictures of the place), dripping aircon and i think a very small kitchen. Garnish is just placed outside, maybe for easy access. Lol.

Raised my hands twice for my order and came on the 3rd try, finally. Ordered just CHICKEN AND EGG NOODLE SOUP for myself for Php210. Cheaper than the other Pho restaurant with the same serving size. I would rate it as 4/5, i just hope that there is more chicken meat in it. The soup tasted so good and the garnish complimented the whole taste. I kinda like the refreshing touch of the fresh mung bean sprouts and the taste of the herb that came with it (i think its basil leaves). And by the way there is no egg, its egg noodles ahahah, noodles made with egg, LOL so tired to think hahaha...

One thing I would like to suggest is that they should cover the condiments, PLEASE! You'll never know when something's gonna land on it, zoooommm...

Would definitely come back to taste their beef...

After several days, I ate CHICKEN PHO ... haha

A tad more affordable than Pho Hoa and a good alternative to have Pho if you're getting bored with Pho Hoa. The waiting time will have to be longer here because the space is a bit small and the tables are almost always filled up.

I liked the stock of their Pho better than Pho Hoa! Great Pho find in the city.

Pho bac brings a quick and affordable Vietnamese food in Glorietta. The flavor they bring can be bland to some but the sauces they offer gives you freedom to customize the dish you are craving for.

Price 5/5
Serving 5/5
Place 3/5 (Their place is too small)
Food 4/5

Orders:
Beef ball noodles P250.00
Chicken egg noodles P195.00
Spring rolls P135.00

We went there at around 7:30PM but the place is nearly full since the place is just small. I think there are 10 tables inside PhoBac Glorietta. But one thing my partner and I noticed is that we can't hear any sound coming from the outside and it's a good thing. We ordered the food above and also tried to order my favorite fresh rolls but the waiter said it's already sold out. I was sad since I was craving for it. So, we were served with the food and had it in big bowls. I got to taste their beef ball noodles which is just the same as Phohoa. They served it along with calamansi and bean sprouts. I cannot review about the chicken egg noodles since I did not try it. But I'll try it next time. :)

The food is great ✔️
The serving is big ✔️
The price is really affordable ✔️

But the "Spring Roll" which is part of the "Appetizer" section took a lot of time before it was served. We're almost done with the main course, but the Spring Rolls ain't out yet. And when it's served, we're surprised that it's really in small pieces, and hard to chew because it's really cold. I hope they could work on that part. The noodles/soup are served in a pretty huge bowl tho, perfect for the cold weather.

Had the vietnamese crepe and spring rolls. I like that they were generous with the vegetables and that there was available condiments on the table, reminiscent of how it is in vietnam. I like eating food with textural contrasts, so i enjoyed both food items. Service was pretty efficient, considering that there were a lot of people with quick turnover of tables. All in all, quite an enjoyable experience.

AMBIENCE
Since back then, I've always wondered how they could accommodate so many people with so little space at their corner location, but they finally acquired the space formerly occupied by Subway. Fortunately, it wasn't crowded when we went there at a weekday lunch hour.

FOOD
I was getting a bit hungry with the extra wait compared to other dishes but Chicken with Lemon Grass Banh Mi was very much worth it. Bread packed a crunch in every bite and the core ingredients were freshly cooked, hardly looking like an instant banh mi. I'm contented with the price and it definitely had value.

Fresh Rolls were served cool with a refreshing flavor, living up to its name and my expectations. Their nutty sauce was more watery than that of other visits but the taste was still perfect.

Chicken Noodles was my companion's order and I only tasted the broth. It was good, very subtle, and perfect for relaxing my throat.

SERVICE
It was fair. Other than the extra wait time for the banh mi, I have no other concerns.
(May 13, 2019)

-

Dine-in space is really tight but it's still relatively easy to get a table. Every time we go there, we usually wait only for a table to be cleaned. There were times when the bill would take awhile but these were tolerable.

Liver Pate Banh Mi is crunchy outside and soft inside. Pate has a strong, funny smell and tastes really good. Fresh Spring Rolls are nice to partner with this or any soup. I wish the price could be lower because there are alternatives that offer more affordable Banh Mi.

I haven't tried many soup options yet, but so far they are all big servings and very refreshing. They're relaxing to smell and taste when partnered with mint leaves. Soup can serve 1-2 people.

Upon entering, I noticed that the dining area is very tight--almost suffocating. I chose a seat near the "kitchen" and when I sat, I realized that it was broken. I let it pass since I was really craving for Vietnamese food and because my mom was already hungry. Upon ordering, the staff that tended to our table had a straight face and she didn't even smile once the whole time we were ordering. She seemed to be in a rush. We got an order of spring rolls, liver pate bahn mi (for me), spare ribs with lemongrass for the mom and chicken with lemongrass for the sister. Don't get me wrong, the food is really good. However, it didn't taste that authentic. I'm used to having the traditional bahn mi, which is filled with everything...so you could imagine how disappointed I was that you can only choose one protein for your bahn mi (liver pate, pork loin, pork barbecue, etc.) Plus points to their dipping sauces though! I really loved them.

Their service is okay. They did not serve house water or anything so I had to ask for house water. When I did, the same staff who tended to us while we were ordering seemed annoyed...and upon eating, I realized that we were the only ones who weren't given this "complimentary" appetizer.

There are some days that can only be cured by a bowl of soup, particularly one that is a step above instant chicken noodles. We happened to have one of those off days recently thanks to a sudden shift in the weather, but fortunately, we found ourselves within walking distance of Pho Bac, another Vietnamese restaurant that serves just what the doctor ordered.

The place is quite small in Glorietta. I hope they could make it a little more spacious for the customers since usually many people come to eat in this restaurant. I ordered beef noodles. It was very tasty. The serving is quite big than the normal size so I was so full when I finished eating.  There's a service charge included in the bill.

My friend recommended this Vietnamese Resto to me after we watched movie. According to her aunt, this is the closest taste to real Vietnamese Cuisine. She got a big bowl of Beef Stew Noodles (Pho Bo Kho) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 to share with me and I got Fresh Rolls (Goi Cuon Thom Thit) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5

The noodles soup of Pho Bac serves in not that super boiling hot, it's just an average that your tongue will not get burnt after you sipped the soup.

For Goi Cuon, I think it will be more tastier when they put a little more meat inside the rolls.

They provide good service and very polite staff.

Whenever I crave for Vietnamese Phò, I go to Pho Bac. Good thing the branch is steps away from Dusit Hotel. And even though it is usually full, I am sure to line up and wait for my comfort food to be served.

I usually order the Cambodian Noodles. The soup reminds me of the authentic noodles I had in the busy streets of Phnom Penh and Saigon. The big plus factor is the price! So when I am in dire need of comfort, I just head to Pho Bac for my gastronomic relief. The attendants are all attentive and they seem to man the place well!

Not many Vietnamese cuisines around and when I stumble upon one, I rethink of having it over the usual American, Filipino or Japanese. I guess tonight their flavors won.

Didn't have the usual noodles and instead went for their rice meals. They have a range of choices here and I got only two since it was a usual solo trip.

I got again their Spicy Chicken (Php 225). It's a simple dish with strips of chili on a thick lightly sweetened gravy like sauce. This time though I got appetizing Kangkong with Beef for just Php 130! A meal worth Php 355 felt more than that.

Vegetables were fresh, chicken was tender, broth was very flavorful but did not taste the sin. My first ever encounter with pho, and I'm not sure if it counts as clean eats but I definitely did not feel the guilt I do after a bowl of ramen. Green mango shake was as perfect as it gets.

In this post: Goi Cuon Tom Thit (Fresh Roll with Shrimp and Pork), Four Seasons Noodle Soup, Duck Soup, Pandan Pudding

Strolling around the newly-renovated Glorietta 2, we found out that there were only a few restaurants here that we haven't dined yet. One of which is Pho Bac. If I remember it right, this used to be in Glorietta 3, beside Subway. They were on soft opening when we visited the place. Pho Bac ambiance. The place is quite small and crowded, and can fit around 24 people provided all the seats are taken. I like the design of the chairs and how it blended with the wooden accents of the interior.

I've been bitten by the Vietnamese bug.  All this talk about Beef Pho got me salivating.  After Grams'medical check-up,  i decided to grab a quick bite at Pho Bac (i aint sure if this is affiliated with Pho Hoa -  feel free to add comments below).

It was a gamble to bring Grams to a Vietnamese joint (she prefers two cuisines,  ours and the one rich in msg).  I had a hard time picking her food.  I finally decided on the following:

| Chicken Pho.   I will use every adjective in my arsenal to give you a detailed description of this bowl.  Do not hate me if my words failed to paint a picture in your head.  It is not as visually stunning as Annam's version.  It is a steaming bowl of lacklustre looking broth with glass noodles,  shredded chicken,  chives and cilantro.  Grams said the broth is not as flavorful,  she mindlessly compared it Nagi 😀.   I took a spoonful and I nodded in agreement.  I missed Annam all of a sudden.  The broth tastes good but it lacks the "Wow"  factor and the shredded chicken ain't enough,  they could have added a lil color,  more veggies perhaps.

| Beef Pho.   A huge bowl of pho with generous servings of beef chunks and veggies  The broth is the shiz!  It is soo good,  i was tempted to get a cup of rice.  The beef cubes are tender and oozing with beefy goodness.  And i managed to eat my Pho with chopsticks.  I realized while i was struggling with ze sticks,  how do these folks manage to eat properly without crockery...then it hit me...hunger is an excellent motivation.

| Spring Rolls.   Grams doesn't need to give her nod of approval,  the fact that she  finished ze whole order is testament to how good these fried babies are.

Suffice to say that we enjoyed our food.  One thing I'd like to comment on is that the place looks worn out.  Maybe redesign and renovate sounds about right?

Peace Out!

Craving for some Indochinese noodle soup ,ordered Cambodian noodle soup as Ive frequent the Indochinese region (Vietnam,Cambodia ,Laos and Thailand)and been trying the best noodle soups in Southeast Asia .The soup is far for the authentic Cambodian soup tho it was tasty enough another thing was the temperature of the broth it can be better if it's on a higher temperature. Staff nice, place a bit small ,food ok but not great and Filipinized, serving and price reasonable.

I needed a detoxifying lunch yesterday and I wanted something with a lot of vegetables.  My friend and I decided that we go to Pho Bac.  We just ordered the Shrimp Pomelo Salad and Fresh Spring rolls and yeah it was worth the visit despite the cramped ambiance and interiors. It was filling and not totally bloated when I eat anywhere else. Also the best thing about it was the price that I paid for 160 pesos for the two orders. This was definitely not bad for me as this could my added option when I crave for something healthy to eat in Glorietta.

Though just a small restaurant in Glorietta 2, this Pho Bac branch is always filled with customers. It's no surprise: its pho and salads taste good, comparable to other Vietnamese noodle soup in other restaurants. The Cambodian pho (an unexpected item in the menu) is one of the bestsellers, so is the vegetable salad. The price is also relatively cheaper compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the Metro.

This is one of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants. Me and my wife always order a good beef or chicken rice noodle soup. And of course, this has to go with the spring roll. Spring roll that we wrap with the fresh lettuce and dip it with vinegar mix sauce. I have to say that they are budget friendly as the normal bowl they offer is already good for two persons.

This is one of the better options for Vietnamese around the metro.  I always order the Beef Stew Noodles and have them change the usual rice noodles to egg noodles.  Try their cold coffee with milk, it's very much like the iced coffee they serve all over Vietnam, except that theirs is a little sweeter.  I think this is a good place to grab lunch or a quick snack.  Their space is a little small so there's usually a line to be able to get a table, especially during peak hours.  Don't fret.  It's uncommon for their customers to stay long in the restaurant, so the wait is bearable.

Pho Bac is a Vietnamese restaurant at 2nd floor Glorietta 2. It sits right at the corner beside Subway.

Here's what we tried:

Fresh Spring Rolls - One order consists of 6 pieces of fresh spring rolls. The vegetables stuffed in thin rice paper tasted fresh and crisp. However, I didn't like the taste of the peanut sauce. I immediately figured out that it won't taste that good because the color looked pale and the texture was also not that thick as what should've been expected.

Pho Ga (Chicken Soup) - It's a huge bowl of rice noodles, chicken strips, herbs and broth. On the side, you may add bean sprouts and mint. Lemon/lime normally comes with this dish but Pho Bac only serves calamansi. This alternative, however, cannot replace the taste of lemon/lime. This is why somehow the overall taste of this bowl didn't pass to being authentic.

The restaurant at Glorietta branch is a bit small, so if you are planning to eat at dinner time, make sure you come earlier. Some tables look squished especially the table that we got at the corner. At times, the waiter cannot fit himself into the limited space to serve us.

We love ordering either the beef or chicken rice noodle soup. They serve up it good and healthy. As for our side dish, we order up the spring rolls. We literally roll it inside skme garden fresh lettuce then dip it on vinegar based dressing. Surely hits that vietnamese craving spot. The bowl of rice noodle soup is just good enough for me and my wife. We prefer going here if we are on a budget but craving for some satisfying food. Price may not be that cheap but we get to share the bowl. Hope the place could add up a little more space for their customers.

I love that they always serve fresh veggies every time we eat here. This is one of our go-to restaurants as we love eating vietnamese food. The pho is tasty and when I eat it, I really feel like my tummy is not only happy but also cleansed. We also order the appetizer platter, we love everything they serve in that plate. The peanut sauce goes well with the fresh rolls. The vinegar dip goes well with the fried ones.

We also ordered their fresh shrimp salad and we were not disappointed by it. I'd say the pho is good enough for two people, same with the platter. But since we love eating pho, we add extra noodles.

Space is quite small so what I suggest is that they get a bigger one with better interiors.

Pho bac mainly serves noodles but they also have spring rolls, banh mi (sandwiches), and rice meals.

Pho Bac Vietnamese Specialties Goi Cuon Tom Thit
(Fresh roll with shrimp and pork)
These bite size rolls were crunchy (vegies), tasty (shrimp/pork) and a dip to the peanut sauce provides this very refreshing feeling.

Before serving us the noodles, they served us a plate that contained mint leaves, bean sprouts and kalamansi. These can be used to augment the taste of your noodles.

Pho Bac Vietnamese Specialties Four Seasons Noodle
With chicken, pork, sausage and egg, you can opt to call this an all-meat noodle. It came with thick rice noodles (flat-white colored). The broth had a light flavor but you can still taste how the ingredients helped achieve that flavor.

Pho Bac Vietnamese Specialties Duck Soup
It had duck slices (a lot!), petchay (Chinese Cabbage) and thin yellow noodles. The broth had a stronger flavor compared to the four seasons noodle.

Pho Bac Vietnamese Specialties Pandan Pudding
This would be the reason why we tried Pho Bac. I was expecting something similar to buko pandan but unfortunately, this was really different. It had the stickiness of a rice cake and upon eating it, it reminded me of bilo-bilo found in ginataan (Filipino dish).

I really enjoyed our dinner at Pho Bac. Aside from trying something new, it gives you this satisfaction that you are eating healthy food and you can further enhance the taste of your noodles by giving you many choices.

We ate here on July 16, 2013. The place is small and cramped so don't even think about bringing a stroller or a wheelchair in this restaurant.

We ordered spring rolls, crispy noodles, and duck noodle soup. The spring rolls were great! I recommend this. Served with lettuce wrap and sticks of carrot, turnip, cucumber and dipping sauce this dish will give you a taste of Thai cuisine.

The duck soup was just ok. The broth was not great. It was a bit tasteless. The duck in the soup was sliced thinly and was just ok. The duck soup was 250 so it is a bit pricey, but the bowl is big and can be shared between 2-3 people. The noodles were not anything special.

The crispy noodles was the worst of the three. The noodles were not crispy. The carrots and other vegetables in the dish were overcooked and mushy. It was not a good value for P170.
