We ordered Shakshuka, Hummus with pita bread, Tuna salad and Mandy chicken. I like the chicken and mandy rice. The chicken is so tender and soft and the indian spices are not overpowering. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly. The shakshuka was also good i just wished they put atleast 2 poached eggs in it 1 egg is not enought. Hehe! Eating it with pita bread and some hummus is so delish. The tuna salad was just okay. My only negative remark is they dont serve service water and their drinks are pricey.
I was craving for Chicken Biryani and i saw they serve it there. Me and
Ordered the chicken mandy for 350php.
I've been missing the chicken mandi of Romansiah in Saudi Arabia, so I was excited to try this place after searching around. It was a small place, really easy to miss and parking is tough too.
The mandi rice was surprisingly good, spiced and cooked really well. I'll give it a 4/5 in comparison with mandi rice I tasted abroad. The chicken is just right, needs a little more of that same spice from the rice; just a 3/5 compared to authentic mandi chicken. Serving size is quite good, half chicken like abroad, and the rice is plenty as well, but not like in Saudi where the rice is like 1 big basin of rice. It's good enough to be shared by 2, but for 1 person, it's really filling, almost 2.5 servings of rice plus the half chicken. The flavorful rice will make you not want to share though and it's easy to finish. Would've been nice as well if I ate using my hands just like how we did it abroad.
Overall, it's a good nostalgic dish that I will come back for when I miss it. On a good day only though since parking is really challenging.
Legit Arabic food! My boyfriend has been looking for Kabsa for quite a while now, and we found this hidden gem. He'd been living in Riyadh for several years and loves Kabsa so much.
We ordered Chicken Kabsa, Hummus, and Pita Bread. Everything is sooo good. The flavor of the Kabsa here is so close to the flavor you can taste in Saudi Arabia. Just ask for lemon because they do not serve it unless you ask for it.
Price is mid-range. And they use paper straws - which is a plus!
Kabsa serving size is good for 1. Hummus can be shared, just order extra Pita Bread.
No parking space for cars outside.
Will definitely go back! ๐ค
I did not expect food from Mandy House to be good. It actually was. I ordered the Yogurt Cucumber (P180) and Mandy Lamb (P450) for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and the quality of these dishes.
The yogurt was tangy and had a cooling effect because of the cucumber. It went very well with the Mandy Lamb which had good portions of lamb, enough for sharing. The meat was tender and well-seasoned. What impressed me was the rice, it was basmati flavored with garlic, onions and some aromatics. It had a distinct flowery and fruity taste that must come from saffron or dried lime or both, but I am just guessing. The meal was filling and delicious. This could very well please a sheik.
Good find from zomato delivery!
I've been working in middle east for how many years, and im in love with their food. I can say that the authenticity of their food is 4/5, highly recommended. I used zomato delivery and their service is 5/5 very efficient ๐๐๐๐
I did not have much info on what to order as their rating in Zomato is low, but high in Foodpanda. So based on their graphic menu and among the popular orders in Foodpanda, I got lucky with everything I chose. I could not stop eating.
Recommended dishes: kabsa chicken (picky boyfriend loved this hehe), arugulla salad, lamb kebab, hummus with pita
Hope the pita breads were a little softer tho.
UPDATE in August: Finally got to eat here on a Sunday. Most of what I had was not available but kabsa and new other dishes were still good and provided.
Ordered delivery from here via Foodpanda since i was laid up with a cold and was lazy to venture out. Good to order from Mandy House via delivery since i once tried to find this place on foot and just couldn't!
We got Shakshuka- the middle eastern breakfast of poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce - that i love. Mandy House's version of this was a little different from the others i've had in Manila since their eggs are scrambled with the tomato sauce. Tasted good!
Next we had Kebdah - an Arabian dish of liver fried in olive oil with cumin and onions and a few other spices. Tasted just ok and was somewhat oily.
Mandy Lamb was a dsh for sharing - tender lamb with a generous serving of tasty biryani rice. This was very good!
Since my friend already wrote about our experience here, I won't put so much detail into the food but instead will add to her review:
Mandy's House is a narrow restaurant that is very easy to miss, in fact, I pass right by it everytime my cab driver feels it is faster to pass through the busy streets of the red light district than to wait in Makati Avenue. For easy reference, it is a street away from El Chupacabra and yes, like El Chupacabra, there is almost 0% chance you're going to get to park near the restaurant.
Before going to the restaurant, I was expecting to see the usual kebab and shawarma. I was wrong, their menu got me really confused but thankfully my friend was pretty knowledgeable in middle eastern food. We had Hummus, Tabbouleh and Biryani Lamb, and yes, if you add everything together, it sort of becomes a disassembled shawarma. The Lamb Biryani comes with a generous serving of rice and the meat is very tender.
The staff are kind and well mannered, no complaints here!
I will definitely consider going back to Mandy's House, probably more so if it wasn't so hard to park. Give it a shot if you're feeling like you need something new.
Very good food, servings big enough for two. Reasonable cost given the size. We had the biryani lamb, hummus with meat, and tabbouleh. Biryani was vey flavorful with huge chunks of lamb. Hummus was also very gold, best hummus I've had in Metro Manila. Tabbouleh was also the best I've had in Metro Manila; was nicely tart!
The place itself is an ordinary restaurant, nothing fancy. Airconditioned. The waitress was attentive and very nice as well, helpful in her recommendations and friendly. Would definitely come back here.
It's a good alternative if ever El Chupacabra is very full, as is often the case.
