I love going back here for the cakes n sandwiches specially the cheesecake with fresh fruits on top. Usually buy it to give as gift. You’ll never go wrong.The ambience is really nice too.
Our most recent stay here was for 2 nights during Easter weekend of 2019. We’ve stayed at the New World Makati Hotel in the past but never really spent time at The Lounge. This time was different. We chanced upon their Live Music nights that feature a roster of local Musical talents. This, combined with their diverse Drinks menu and cozy ambiance, truly made for a great experience.
Of course, we mustn’t forget about the Service Quality; which gets top grade. All of the service personnel were very attentive, courteous, and accommodating in their service.
All of these things combined, give me a feeling of sentimental fondness for The Lounge and New World Hotel Makati.
It was the eve of Christmas when I was invited by my Tita N (with whom I have spent two relaxing days with in Makati) to New World for lunch before going home in QC. I agreed.
As we were walking towards The Lounge, I was trying to remember as to the last time I was in this hotel. Can't recall. I ordered for a Ham and Cheese Panini and Iced Chocolate with my brain still on search for that day til finally, I just gave up when my order arrived from the kitchen.
Tita N's cheesecake was just heavenly, it wasn't too sweet and too tangy. Not to mention that it was presented beautifully. The panini was, well, panini. It was nothing special. I mean, it didn't seem it was created in the kitchen of a five-star hotel. We ate it but finish? No. We chose to reserve tummy space for Noche Buena.
We had a new year staycation for 3 days and 2 nights at New World Hotel in Makati... We wanted a change in pace and a much needed break.
During NYE, we ushered in 2018 with a party held at the lounge. Unlimited drinks and appetizers for a price. The champagne and wine they offered were of good quality-- best way to celebrate the incoming year. We no longer availed of their appetizers because we were still full from a very heavy meal...
Party area was cramped from all the guests dancing to the upbeat music from the band. Party hats, trumpets, noise makers and necklaces were provided... It was a happy and festive atmosphere... What my friends and I didn't like was that there were no fireworks (we were indoors) and no countdown! Anyway, it was still a great party and a fun night...😊

The lounge is located on the ground floor of New World Makati Hotel next to the lobby. It has two areas: one is located further inside near the bar which also has a out door garden area; and the other is near the main lobby enterance that stays bright in the evening. The ambience of both area is very relaxing.
The green tea latte I had here was one of the best among all the green tea lattes that I had. It had a little touch of espresso it was almost like a strong green tea flavored sweet latte. The scent of green tea was very rich.
Red velvet cake was very delicious.
It was very soft and creamy.
Service was great.

Highlights: Sirloin steak!!!!!! It is well seasoned and made complement with their homemade sauce than A1/worcer... sauce lol. The next time Ill have bigger cut, I think it would be better to consume as it was cut less than 1inch thick.. Next, sea mantis (i think?) - it already shows you how they served with high quality.. Have it well-seasoned as it was served with bland taste.. the lamb dish was mesmerizing, strong flavor which I loved.. Desserts were all eye-catching!! Very artistic look and not the ordinary ones.. only issue is that they 'look like' but they are not 'the actual thing' that you think of.. I thought I had french macaroon sandwich-ed style with cream filling but it was just cake.. and brownies look-alike with fondue but itwas actually a chocolate cake cut into small squares.
The dishes are not that many but A MUST TRY as they served with different specialties.. Octopus sashimi, anyone? :)
One of the perfect spots to spend your catch up time may it may be with family, friends or work/business colleagues. This place has a relaxing view and gives off that cozy ambience.
Their sandwiches are great fillers and their iced teas or coffee selections go perfect with it. I have tried their roasted turkey sandwich and their parma ham, tomato bread and parmesan bites. Both were good and the serving sizes were huge. Even the fries or salad that goes with the sandwich order.
Remarkable service from their staff but the turn around time can still be improved.
I think I'll definitely come back and recommend it to friends who want a quiet place in the center of the buzzling streets of makati.
I haven't eaten here during the day, only in the evening, when it is very relaxing, and live music is performed till late evening. We caught an acoustic trio singing 90s jazz and R&B, current hits, and classic bossa nova.
The lobby area outside The Lounge area is a very relaxing area to sit in, with dark velvety couches, and the band can be heard from there.
Drinks and food are standard cafe fare, at hotel prices, and we like the high quality of their ingredients. Portions are sized for two, like the bolognese we had, and a filling ciabatta sandwich with soft prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and grilled vegetables.
What ups the ante is their cocktail menu, which has a big array of scotch, sparkling wines, and stiff mixed drinks, as well as juice and various teas.
I've never seen it extremely full. Great place for chilling.
