This place gave me Benihana vibes, though the chefs here do not give as lively or flashy of a performance.
The salmon sashimi did not disappoint, neither did the other meats we ordered. The nigiri set was ok though. Would definitely still come back here again & I can’t wait until I do! :)
The experience of having the food cooked right in front of you is such a delight. 💕 The steak were cooked just right and we loveeeee the salmon aburi.
Everything is amazing in this restaurant! The service, the food and everything!! So good. You cant go wrong with Kimpura!
Kimpura is a restaurant that has stood the test of time, nearly an institution. Food is great and the restaurant is always packed to capacity.
I had their excellent Salmon Sashimi. Divinely fresh and fatty!
Yakiniku Teishoku was good, but not great. Thinly sliced U.S. beef grilled with garlic sauce. Served with miso soup, small salad, rice and dessert.
If it is Teppanyaki,Kimpura will always be first in mind.I grew up eating in this restaurant.I used to frequent the greenhills branch since it was so near our house.Of course, best to start and whet the appetite with a few sushi rolls and sashimi.I almost always have the Ribeye and prawn combination or the tenderloin with scallops combination
Dined here a couple of times already and have ordered the same thing, beef sukiyaki steak upgraded to fried rice. Already a set meal with soup, salad, pickles, and dessert, it's definitely priced on the high side but is really a value for money. Steak ordered was done to medium rare and is really tender and flavorful.
Also tried the ebi tempura and rib eye steak. Both awesome but pricey. Make sure to seat at the teppanyaki grill for the whole show. Servers are also attentive and chefs are friendly.
Will definitely go back.
We ordered the Manager set menu, the price for 10 person is 19k++peso, it’s super big feast for us.
Appetizers:
Sashimi, Kani Salad, California roll, Ell egg roll & Soup (all of them is good taste 😍)
Main Course:
Scallops, (4/5)
Tempura, (4/5)
Japanese Fried Rice (4/5)
Angus beef with beansprout (4/5)
Dessert:
Buko Ice cream (super yummy!)
The service is good! We booked a day before for the private room (no charge) and usually is fully booked if you not booked first.
Nice place.
When i step in, the ambience feels like chinese restaurant, but they had a lot teppanyaki table, thats the point if you like teppanyaki. If you looking for teppanyaki around legazpi, i would like recomend this place. Good service and taste delicious.

SPECIAL REMARKS:
If you don't mind sharing a table with complete strangers, choose to be seated on the teppanyaki grill (corner for two preferably). Its always the best choice when dining in Kimpura if you want to experience the culinary proficiency of authentic Japanese cooking. Nothing else to say about their dishes but worth every penny spent.
By the way, the U.S. Angus Rib Eye comes with free salad, soup and ice cream dessert.
