It's a good thing we got there early (around 10:30 am) kasi may pila pala haha. The place doesn't let customers come inside until they open at 11 am. So just minutes after we arrived the line was sooo long already and by the time we went in, the place cannot accomodate all the people in line. The place was jampacked and the line was still loooong. Then came the food and it all explained why people are willing to stay in line and wait for others to finish eating and while waiting get tortured by watching those ahead of them eat while they drool upon the site. The people whose orders were already taken are waiting inside and can already smell the food which added to the torture hehe. Good thing we did not take part of that "torture" experience as we were second in line. But if we do come back and the line is loooong maybe i'd still take the chance to stay in line (note that I'm not fond of being in lines and hate to wait for whatever it is that I have to wait for) and get tortured coz anyway I'll experience the goodness of their food afterwards.

I had several recommendations to try this place out. Amazing experience. Had to wait for a while because we came in a bit late and the queue was a bit long, but boy that Shoyo ramen was great. The gyoza was awesome too. I’ll be back for a different ramen next time.

It's very seldom that I really notice what I am eating. For me, if you tasted something, you've tasted it all. I have been hearing my husband gushing about this place since he loves to eat ramen. I didn't take him seriously at first but when I got to eat here, I was speechless. I loved their ramen and gyoza. So far, I haven't been able to compare it to other places I've been to.

You need to be patient if you want to eat here. But the long wait is worth it as the food is so damn good. It was my first time and will definitely come back again. They alao have improvised chopsticks for those (like me) who are not used to using one. Their rame and gyoza are a perfect match 👌🏻 Take kote that they di not accomodate reservations, it is on a first come first serve basis. They also do not deliver nor allow take-out orders. ✌🏻

Hands down the best ramen I've ever had as I passed through Manila. The Tantanmen made me forget I had a cold, the broth was perfectly rich, and the chasu would break just right on your chopsticks. This place is a must!

📍Mendokoro Ramenba- Super Chashu

Hands down, one of the best ramen in the metro. The broth is very rich without being overwhelming or “nakakaumay”. The noodles are just the perfect hardness and their chashu is super flavorful and tender (melts in your mouth)! My usual order would be the Shoyu Ramen as this personally offers the perfect ratio of chashu to ramen, but...

On our second visit, we tried their Seafood Ramen and I can't remember the spicy ramen recommended by their staff (3rd pic) both from their secret menu and of course Gyoza. Definitely worth the wait!👌🏻

Wsgood everybody. Lil’ Lisa here.

I used to think craving ramen was kinda lame to crave.

Then, my world changed when I tried Mendokoro’s Tsukemen (dipping ramen). Lolol. Ever since I first went here about half a year ago, I would bring my visiting friends from wherever to try this place & I’d always end up apologizing for making future ramens difficult to compete w. It really is a life changing experience if you’ve only tried ramen from the US, Canada or whatever. This is an honorary & well-deserved go-to spot of mine now.

Anyway, I typically get Tokusei Tsukemen cuz I’m a wuss to anything spicy. Although, I’d say if u can handle hot Cheetos’ spiciness, you can handle the “spicy” Karai Tokusei Tsukemen. Most people I bring here who order the “spicy” one enjoy that more than the regular one. But order whatever you like. :) Their Tsukemens are very hearty & flavorful unlike any other dipping ramen I’ve had back in California or even in the PI lol.

Just try it, man. You’ll know.

Order Recommendations:
- Tsukemen (Tokusei, or Karai Tokusei)
- Gyoza
- Extra Chashu (pork)
= All fire. :’)

You’re welcome. *mic drop*

My top 1 ramen place.

They don’t accept online or call reservations. Customers will need to order and pay right away to reserve a seat. You’ll need to wait for 30 minutes to 1 hour, though. It’s worth the long wait, anyway.

I ordered a special chashu ramen which is a not-so-secret ramen choice from their menu. They served hard noodles. The soup was flavorful, tamago was not too sweet, and chashu and gyoza were perfect.

The servers were attentive and they quickly refill your water glass. They are not using tap water (important for me).

Go-to ramen place - you can never go wrong with the taste, quality, and value. The noodles are al dente, the egg is perfectly cooked, and the taste is consistent. Very dependable ramen place!

Great ramen! The ramen here is great! The Only problem is that the soup in the ramen is too thick; Don't get me wrong but i liked the soup but some people might not like that its a bit to thick.

The line is not that crazy before 7pm. Bathroom is spacious and well maintained. I love how attentive the staff were in constantly refilling our water and explaining the dish in case of first timers. I love their regular ramen and decided to try their bonito tsukemen this time, soup had so much bonito and salty flavour that it came with a shot of vinegar as a side to dilute the taste if desired. Noodles were thicker and more “al dente.” I wasn’t able to eat all of the meat in my soup/broth due to its saltiness and preferred the tonkatsu tsukemen that my friend had, because it had a more subtle flavour. Nonetheless, would still come back and try each and every dish they offer, with gyoza as a staple snack on the side. 😉

The set up is not your typical restaurant but a horse shoe type of long table. Thus it will require you to wait in a queue if you were not able to get a seat on an earlier batch. Each batch will take approximately 30 minutes, so on a very long queue you might have to wait much longer. It is also not guaranteed that if you are in a group you will be able to seat together. This set up may not be ideal if you have children that needs feeding. I ordered tantanmen. It was creamy with a mild pinch of spiciness. The taste is good, but after a while the taste becomes pall probably because of the creaminess. I think overall it is the experience in the senses that attracts. The smell of food cooking and how the food looks. I will surely go back here as other food in the menu is interesting.

Went “off the beaten path” today and ordered their tonkotsu tsukemen.

Serving time took a bit longer than it usually does because it was one of those days when their Salcedo Village branch was packed. Waiting time was decent (10-15 minutes before being seated plus 5-10 minutes before getting served), reminiscent of my experience at a ramen house in Japan. Seeing (most of) the process happen in front of your eyes more than made up for the wait time.

The noodles were thick and chewy, with the broth clinging onto them quite well. The broth was nice and thick with a bit of a tang (as expected from Mendokoro/Yushoken’s tonkotsu broth). The meat, bamboo shoot, and greens worked well. It got cold quick, but that was probably because the plate the noodles were served on was cold, a common practice for tsukemen. Serving size was perfect for one.

Definitely considering this as a way to curb ramen cravings.

I have been a fan of ramen ever since my trip to Japan. I recommend you asked for their secret menu. We went there 15 mins before the 11am opening. I suggest you go there 30 mins before coz the line is a bit long and you'll wait around 30mins to 1 hour.

We were there around 11:15 which they open at 11:00am. There are people inside eating and in line and people outside already in line too, they need to make the lining more efficient because it happened to us 3 times today, 1 person will line up, then there will be 6-10 people shows up with that person. They will let you in and get inline inside to order and wait to be seated. while waiting inside, I noticed 1 person in line will order for 10 people and wait, then the other 9 people shows up with their orders and they get the priority for sitting. This kind of behaviour should not be allowed. We waited for an hour to get seated and have our food.

Ordered the usual Miso with Aji Tamago, and Shio ramen. Mendokoro never fails in terms of flavor profile and interior. I suggest coming in before opening time or right before closing as I made the mistake of coming during its peak time: lunchtime. Expect a wait time of 40-50 mins.

The price has increased. Shio is now P400 and Miso is now P475.

I got the Shoyu ramen and it was delicious. The pork just melts in your mouth. We got the egg to go with it and it just completes the ramen. Personally though, I like the Shio ramen that my boyfriend got. It's tastes cleaner probably because it was less oily. Overall, the experience was great. The staff were attentive and would always serve us water when our glasses are about to be empty. If I were to suggest something, it would be nice if they can add more noodles in! ☺️

Probably one of the best ramen joints in the country! You won’t find ramen of this quality elsewhere (aside from their sister restaurants). Always come back for the chashu, gyoza and karai tokusei tsuekemen here. Expect long waiting times during peak dinner hours.
I’d say that their ramen seems to be tuned more to the Filipino palate since it tastes quite different from the ramen that I’ve gotten used to in Japan.

Mendokoro Ramenba deserves an easy 4.5- to 5-star rating for the below reasons:
- the place was tidy and not crowded
- service was awesome and the cashier was too kind to let me charge my phone there haha
- ramen broth was so good. Definitely one of the best broths I've ever tasted
- and the noodles felt different in a good way compared to other ramen places (ippudo, ramen nagi, kitchitora, hanamaruken) that I've tried

The ramen was so good that I filled myself up to the point of vomiting. No exaggeration.

Worth the wait and will definitely go back here.

TanTanMen x Shoyu (see image) are a must try. 😊

Fun Fact: Ramen Yushoken and Mendokoro Ramenba are sister companies. :)

Convinced my boyfriend that ramen is indeed very delicious and brought him here to Mendokoro Ramenba which is so far the best ramen for me.

Ordered different ramen for him to try:
🍜 Shoyu - soy sauce based flavor
🍜 Shio - salt based flavor

Both are very delicious and savory although shio is in the lighter version than shoyu..
Well.. he was convinced that ramen is indeed very good but pricey!

My number one ramen.

At dahil birthday niya - yes, finally! After nth attempts and 4 years of waiting, thank you unibers 🙏

Salt-based ramen, this broth is much lighter than shoyu. I love that noodles are chewy which really complements the richness of the broth. The tonkatsu meat is equally flavorful although I'm used to meat melting in my mouth. The gyoza is a must-try too.

Soy-based ramen. Broth is so rich, milky, and flavorful. With just a slurp, I knew I'm sold. I'm sayin' goodbye to Ramen Nagi.

This is a throwback review back in November 2018, but I guarantee you - it is still good. We just dined here a couple of weeks ago.😍

The long wait is over. Finally, tried the most-talked about ramen place here in the Metro. And it did not disappoint! 😆

Both ramen broth and noodles were really good. Broth was so rich with flavor and thick. Shoyu ramen has a light and yet distinct garlic-y taste and the pork was so good. I most especially enjoyed the kick of Tantanmen’s spicy broth. Their noodles were not the usual thin noodles but rather thick and chewy. Their gyoza was cooked to perfection 👌

Very prompt and efficient service despite the long lines. To complete the experience, it was such a joy to eat it in a ramen bar! 😋😋😋

Finally went back here after 3 years! The service has improved a lot. We arrived at around 6pm and did not wait that long. Food was served immediately and the staff were very attentive. We got the shoyu and the tantanmen. I would rank Tantanmen as the best broth since it has a kick of spicyness and the flavour is well rounded. Meanwhile, their Shoyu had a really tender pork and it was so so good. The broth was good but I couldn’t last the entire bowl since it was too rich of the spicess, texture, and flavour. It would have been great if their have smaller sizes so that one can try more ramen if they prefer. I was happy to sit there in a ramen bar type of set up because it makes you feel like you’re in one of those small hole in the wall places in Japan to get ramen. Place is also wonderful even if u go on solo 👌🏻

We don’t eat ramen anywhere else. Why? Cause we will always be disappointed as our gold standard is Mendokoro Ramenba. :)

As a nutritionist, I keep this place as a gem in my diet, meaning it is more of a treat and definitely a cheat meal. I eat here only once or twice a quarter as despite it being so good, it packs a lot of calories as well what with the pork fat laden broth and that delicious black garlic oil, and the occassional order of their super chashu!

Can’t wait for our next visit after 2-3 months. 🤩

If you want to secure seats as soon as you arrive, I suggest you go there super early before lunch time because a lot of employees are lining up to eat here. They only have more or less 20 seats and they prepare the food right in front of you. My boss treated me (huhu) and i'm so glad that I have tried!!! Definitely gonna come back for more. I love that shoyu ramen is not that salty and the meat are very soft. And the gyoza, 👏. Best one I have ever tasted. 8/5.

One of the best ramen restaurants I visited. The ambience is modern yet brings a classic Japan ramen restaurant. Their payment and order system are also efficient. The staff and cook are quick and fast yet mindful to us.

The noodle is not overcooked, the chashu is well-grilled, its taste stands out in the ramen but it also complements the whole ramen taste. The soup broth is so rich and thick. Will definitely go back here.

I have been waiting for so long to try the famous Mendokoro Ramenba since I’ve heard a lot of good things about their ramen. When I finally got to try their ramen, I can see why people loved it, although for me, the broth was too creamy. I had a hard time finishing my bowl since I was already ‘umay’ from the creaminess. Their ramen tastes like most of the ramen I’ve tried when I was in Japan, if you crank up the creaminess factor.

The place is worth a try, although their ramen is not for me, I will still recommend others to visit Mendokoro for a taste of authentic ramen.
