The dining area was small but they compensate it with their delicious Mexican food. The best Mexican Restaurant. You can also see how the chefs cooked your orders.
We ordered Enchiladas con pollo - chicken in rolled corn tortillas drenched in salsa, sour cream and cheese and partnered with a drink of Horchata - rice milk & Cinnamon.
Will definitely go back once my cravings for Mexican food resurfaced!
After a very long evening some weeks ago, I had the chance to hang out here with some friends and chow down some tacos, burritos, and sopes with a copious mug of beer. I have a good Mexican friend who is a regular friend and swears by the friendliness of the place, and I agree with him.
This is the old spot of Pepi Cubano’s original branch, which has since been acquired and launched in various malls across town.
Since Lo De Alberto took over, the space has been converted into something equally charming and sophisticated (because Pepi Cubano here was a really cool cat), the gorgeous indoors version of a street food restaurant I’d walk into, no matter the country it was in. There’s additional seating outside the restaurant is also cool and a valuable addition of space.
The taco sampler (one chooses from several kinds, and they give you three) is a good way to start. Not surprisingly, their ox tongue taco is sometimes unavailable.
As a long-time fan of slow-cooked pork carnitas, I was disappointed that some “mozzarella” had been inserted into my crisp burrito, doing nothing for the taste and adding an unpleasant acidity to the roll.
If soft tacos aren’t your thing, sopes might be, a tart-like vehicle for lettuce, frijoles (refried beans) and meat of your choice.
The Ensenada taco is the best! Really enjoyed everything we ordered. We had the taquiza, ensenada, horchata, and sopa azteca. Really enjoyed their sauces especially the chipotle cream and salsa verde. Price point’s really good, service was fast and polite as well.
Hands down my number 1 taco place in the metro! They give you the authentic experience as they use corn based tortilla.
Horchata: perfect balance or milk and cinnamon, not one ingredient overpowering the other.
Enchillada: 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Pay de Limon: you should order this if you are into desserts with a little tartness. My friends and I enjoyed this, we had to order seconds 😅
The closest to the real deal in Manila! Best tacos and Mexican specialties in town, I’ve tried the suadero and fish tacos and are really good. PBelieve me, word from a Mexican.
Just a low-key type of restaurant, easy to miss especially when you don’t really look!
Went here on a Sunday lunch time so my boyfriend and I are the only customers. The place is pretty small so I guess it gets packed during the weekdays.
We ordered Taco Ensenada, Queso Quesadilla, Albondigas, Horchata, and Limon.
Taco Ensenada is quite different than the normal tacos you’ve had but it’s definitely worth a try!
Albondigas is a must try too! My guy really liked it although he almost didn’t finish it because of the big serving lol
This is the place for excellent tacos and sopas. Kinda cute hole in the wall type of place. The food is excellent though and service is friendly.
We had 3 kinds of tacos - Suadero (beef), Pollo and Ensenada (tilapia fillets). Loved all of them, especially the Suadero and Ensanada. Sopa Azteca - tomato soup with tortilla strips - is very tasty. Elotes - shredded corn with cheese - was not as yummy as we expected.
Their non alcoholic drinks - Jamaica & Tamarindo - are refreshing
They claim to be an authentic Mexican restaurant. I do believe that after trying out several items on their menu.
Lo de Alberto has all the pieces of a traditional Mexican menu. Our table got the usual nachos as a starter and then moved on soft tacos and burritos for filling mains. We matched orders with their extensive non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
Another plus in this venue is their affordable price tag and on hand service to its customers.

A true mexican experience!
Lo de Alberto is a tiny little spot near Greenbelt. Amazingly, their food are cheap compared to other restos. You can order chips for sides at 20 pesos!
I love the intimate atmosphere esp I like to eat alone.
Ordered their bestseller tacos (with nachos & dips) at P185 and some margarita to cap off the evening.
Thanks for the nice service!
P.S. The place is a bit small, but you can easily spot it in Gallardo St (fronting Lay Bare).
Vibrant and flavorful would be one of the adjectives I would describe this hip Mexican restaurant. From delicious tacos to refreshing agua frescas. Something for all. Am so happy they have a Makati branch.
