My friend recommended me to try, so we went on our last day before flying back to Hong Kong. My husband and myself got seated without waiting (Yay!) The servers here are just wonderful, good ambience and the menu offers a wide selection. We ordered small portions of watermelon sinigang, grilled king prawn, laing, chicken skewers, sizzling bangus belly, crispy chicken wings in caramelized patis sauce, small bowl of rice which is also good for sharing, ube pandan with sago and mango pomelo with sago shake. Everything we ordered are so good. Sadly we have to skip dessert as we are so full already that we decided to do a quick hike returning to our hotel. Manam is now our absolute favorite place to go. #MMcookingdiva
Most of the time, we need to wait in line for dinner. A small rice serves 1 person according to the menu, but for us, 2 people can share it with an order of soup, sisig, etc. You'll definitely need more rice if you get 2 or more viands, but this is how we usually order here: Quick Bite-style. We prefer Pork Sisig over Corned Beef Sisig because we seek crunchy fun! The beef in our soup (with the watermelon) is soft with a very satisfying serving size.
Great food and amazing service.
Will frequent this place to try everything from their menu.
Epitome of comfort Filipino food! Crispy sisig is just THE BEST.
Best Batchoy I've ever tasted. Also, it's the first time I've eaten a Goto with the right temperature.
One of best places for breakfast here in Makati.
The place has a good modern interior but is lack of comfortable spaces, not a friendly place to conduct meeting. Also, the room temperature was not as convenient as it may be. Other than these, I would say that this a such a wonderful place!
Manam is always a good idea! One of the best places to get Filipino food. Last week though, we waited to be seated for almost an hour. They said that wait was due to the room temp of the second floor. But that is time wasted on our side. For the food, I really dont have anything bad to say but their service specially in branch could be improved. Upon claiming the receipts, we were charged with food that we didn’t even order.
Really liked the food, just really hard to get tables
TLDR: Amazing Watermelon Sinigang, Awesome Pork Sisig, 5 star Hotel level service.
Amazing lunch at Manam GB2! That explains the mob of people waiting in line after we left.
It was our first time to try out Manam anybranch and we somehow wanted to find out what the hype was all about, half expecting to be disappointed. And we we're not.
Food:
Watermelon sinigang was what everyone was raving about. I almost didn't order it because I was thinking the combination might not taste great.
Pork sisig was exactly what people were raving about it. Just don't get carried away over-ordering it.
Kare-kare and Crispy Pata were also good but nothing to go out of your way out for.
The only let down was the Crispy Pansit Palabok. We were carried away by the hype and the spectacle. I'm glad I just ordered the medium size which we didn't finish (well because we were full also).
We would've ordered dessert but there was just absolutely no more space in our tummies.
Tip: The portion sizes can be tricky as the large sizes are good for six people you really should order large, but only if your only ordering 1 or 2 dishes. But if you're ordering 3-4 dishes, just order the half sizes and then just order more if you like any of the dishes.
Service: I like the attitude of the wait staff, they seem to be genuinely eager to please and are confident about the restaurant they are working for. Don't forget to tip them even though there is already service charge, but also thank and praise them personally for the excellent service.
Tip: Service would be faster if you have a prepared order already and they bring every order to the table at once. What made the service a little slow for us was because we had a lot of additional orders and order changes (that I think slows the service down).
The Manam fever has not subsided yet. It's still always packed with diners. This is so because they offer good Filipino dishes. My favorite is their sisig. I literally clapped my hands in excitement when our server placed the sisig on our table. One thing new that I tried this time is their Bibingka de Leche. It's bibingka with leche flan on top. It's not too sweet. I like it!
I would have given a 4.5 but the rating doesn't allow it. I like to give them wrong to be awesome.
Don't get me wrong, the food is superb. Manam is one of the Filipino themed restaurant that offers unique twist to traditional well known pinoy comfort food making sure the customers have a wholesome gastronominal experience.
Service quality and speed is acceptable per standard and the guys are super responsive.
The only downside sometimes is that you have to wait in line since they are at most full.
Good service esp their crew roxanne and nathan
