Berde for me definitely holds a very special lunchtime place in my heart. A great and ORIGINAL local concept (for once) with a new take on rice bowls. Places like Berde give me hope that good food does actually exist here in this great country - and not just another over-hyped, celebrity-plugged bombastic disaster. We’re talking organic and farm to table, fresh ingredients with bowls of deliciousness and flavours that dance on your tongue. If you’re sitting there on the fence trying to decide what to eat to tackle that hunger inside of you, do yourself and your country a favour - support local and eat Berde. You’ll thank me later.
Please drive through.
I can't eat just salad when I'm trying to trim down. This is one good health food restaurant that I can imagine myself eating everyday. Please open a branch in BGC. Like tomorrow.
Clean place, fresh food, lots of vegan items. Plus I can bring my dog with me.
Bangka is the best!!!
Excellent food, excellent service
Absolutely the best ! I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it.
Yummy and healthy food, review posted at Life of Que Fb page
Always friendly staff and tasty bowls. Always
Please open a branch in Mckinley Hill! Love your food! So clean, fresh and delicious!
Healthy yummy food, a little bit on the pricey side.. would like to come back and try different food combinations 😋😋
Orders:
🎈Baboy oh Boy
🎈Baka Bowl
I loved the red sauce more than the green one. The beef is absolutely amazing!!! You wouldn't know that you're eating healthy food.
Addtional note: Fish varies from the catch of the day/week
Pretty good Signature Bowls! We tried MongGo Green, Manok Out and Baka Bowl. All 3 were good! The mushroom munggo karekare and Vegetarian Gising Gising in the 1st one, chicken Inasal and malungay coconut pumpkin mash in #2, beef adobo and Calamansi singkamas slaw in #3:were tasty! Bowls are all priced below php 200 which is good value for healthy meals
Hed them delivered and was happy to see the paper bowls and bamboo sforks. The food is also amazing. I thought it was too expensive for the price but no. It was so heavy and hard to finish given that we were super hungry last night
Been here a few months back. Tried this place after a quick run.
The place was quiet since ako pa lang yung tao doon. And I recall building my own salad which was really tasty and filling as well.
I hope I could visit this place again sometime soon.
Healthy and hearty meal in a bowl. Got the Manok-out and I loved it. You can also choose to create your own bowl. If you're looking for healthy food around Ayala Tri, try it here. Ni
You know a restaurant is serious about its advocacy with its consistency. When thoughts and words are translated to deeds and actual products. Berde Bowls is promoting healthy Filipino eating by supporting local farmers, espousing Filipino flavors and preserving the environment as well. I was amazed and delighted to receive my food order in a recyclable container and a spork made of recycled materials.
I got the MongGo Green at P275. It had mushroom monggo kare-kare, Berde salad mix (arugula, bokchoy, coriander, lolo rosso, mint, pechay and romaine), vegetarian gising-gising, calamansi red onion pickle, crispy shallots, white rice and red sauce.
I don't mind being vegetarian if this is the type of food I will eat. Flavors and textures are on point and layered. In fact, I did not even think of meat while savoring my bowl.
Berde is the vehicle for Jaime and Paloma Urquijo, Timothy Kong and Ryan Daniels to provide us Healthy, Fast and Delicious Meals (their words) and they deliver...on these!
I'd heard of this place, but I haven't ventured into Ayala Triangle/Ugarte Park for months, so I never saw it here.
It's cheerful inside, and the service will remind of the ordering/queueing system at Salad Stop, with four basic bowls to choose from, size regular or large, and what additional toppings and sauces you can add to modify your order.
I tried the mushroom mung bean vegetarian bowl and LOVED it! It had kale, lollo rosa, and I added kamote to my dish.
Super impressed that they have tinawon and minaangan rice from the Cordilleras, and that their suppliers include Down To Earth, Earth Beat, and other Slow Food proponents. Even their drinks are nice. Hope they'll be able to serve hot meals in the future.
We all deserve fair, healthy, local food like this.
Review as of February 2019
In a push for people to incorporate more greens into their diets, combined with people's general perception that salad must the healthiest way to do so, Manila has seen more and more restaurants focusing on salads open up here and there.
Berde, albeit a very small and slow chain, does some good offering Filipino themed salad bowls in flavors such as Filipino Kare Kare, Adobo, Monggo, and the like with sourced from local organic farms in the Philippines.
The menu is not very extensive, but this may come from the team putting more thought into each dish, below are dishes I've tried and my recommendations are marked with a star (🌟):
- MongGo Green 🌟
- Baka Bowl
This is a great resto for health-conscious foodies. You can build your own bowl or if you are lazy to think, they have recommended bowl set already. Take note that the bowl is big and if you dont eat alot you may need to share it. I like the monggo green bowl, an alternative to veggie dish. I can still recall that they also source their chickens and meat from organice and free-range farms. Kudos!
My favourite restaurant in the Philippines. Not exaggerating. I like eating out and there are a lot of good places to go, but Berde is the only that checks all the marks: taste, value for money, and the fact that I don’t feel sick (or guilty) about what I just ate. My favourites are the Manok Out, Bangka Bowl, Baka Bowl (with added pumpkin mash), and a veggie custom bowl of red rice/salad mix with their corn, pumpkin mash, and ensaladang talong with red sauce.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Manila! They have done an amazing job of making healthy Filipino food that is also delicious and filling. For all you foreigners out there, think Filipino Chipotle. I have eaten here multiple times a week (both lunch and dinner) for the last 6 months and have yet to be let down. My personal favorite is the Manok Out with a side of warm saba chips (AMAZING). The staff is also kind and welcoming. If you are looking for a healthy option for Filipino food, this is the bet one in my opinion.
Luvvv the manok-out bowl ❤ The owner is so nice too. All of the vegetables were sourced out locally, all organic, fresh, and so healthy. I can't even finish the whole bowl because its a lot yet I take it away and finish it again in the house. All of the greens in this bowl were so good even you're not really into veggies.
BEST OPTION IN AYALA GARDENS! The food is absolutely DELICIOUS, I have had all of the signature bowls and I am always satisfied. My favorite is definitely the Baka Bowl, I usually get it with an extra serving of kamote. I have eaten at Berde consistently for months and the quality has remained top notch since my first bowl. The staff is always friendly, and the food is served quickly. I recommend Berde to anyone looking for a healthy lunch or dinner spot in Makati. A MUST TRY!!!
I ordered “THE BANGKA” because it’s so interesting to have kinilaw in a salad. It’s not really a salad. It’s an all-in-one bowl. You can choose the base, the salad mix, rice if you want, toppings and sauce.
It’s healthy and delicious but it’s a bit pricey, but I guess that’s what you pay for eating legit healthy meal.
Will definitely come back!
Tasty bowls that are fresh and healthy. Great option for a quick bite at Ayala park. Gets crowded at lunch and getting a seat can be tough, but worth it.
Berde Bowls offers a selection of healthy rice or salad set meals. You also have the option to build your own. Each bowl has protein, base of either rice or salad or both, veggies, pickle, toppings and sauce.
We wanted to build our own but were not sure which goes well with what so we decided to choose from what they have ready on their menu. MongGoGreen and The Manok-Out.
Honestly, this may not be something most will enjoy because it is different. It's a healthier take on some of the Filipino dishes we know. And yes, they make use of local produce!
Good food. Value for money.
We were looking for a place to eat after that light show, of course everywhere was so packed bit we managed to have a table here. We were curious when the staff started to explain their concept which is healthy at the same time fast and delicious food.
You can choose from their rice+salad combination bowls or you can also choose to DIY your bowl. The DIY bowl’s price will depend on the meat that you will choose. So we were not in the mood to think of a combination, we chose the Pork, Beef and Fish.
I honestly liked the food. It was delicious for me. I loved the combination of the beef and the sauces. The greens were a lot for my taste but I finished them all haha 😊 What I liked the most from them is that their ingredients are locally sourced and they support the local farmers 😊
All in all, I’d recommend for people to try them out. 👍🏻

Okay so this is about as fresh and delicious as you will get with organic and delish salad and rice bowls. The best bowls in the Philippines for me. I’m so impressed by this food and it gives me hope for salads and healthier options in the Philippines.
Perfect for your post workout meal! Serving fresh and organic food, so you know its good for you! I eat here about 2 to 3 times a week, and i am never disappointed.
Healthy food with a Filipino twist. The mix of their meat, veggies, and sauces complement each other well. Hope they'll add more to their menu soon plus make delivery option available.
When you see a "healthy restaurant", do you question said restaurant's ability to leave you feeling full and satisfied? I do.
Oftentimes I leave these so-called "healthy" establishments thinking "Of course that was "healthy"! You gave me a small portion of turtle food." Clarification: I do not mean Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle food aka pizza. I am talking about the wilted vegetables. Like the ones, I fed to my pet turtle, Scooter, when I was a kid. Funny story about Scooter; he ran away. No joke! We were cleaning out his aquarium, so we put him in the yard and forgot about him overnight. We couldn't find him the next day. Years later the neighbors told us they found a turtle in their yard. Scooter was one bad turtle if there ever was. RIP Scooter.
Well, Berde is NOT serving turtle food. I went here on a friend's recommendation. It was AWESOME. They have fresh Filipino flavors with hearty ingredients, that actually fill you up! I loved how they mixed the rice and fresh greens. So you get the health and flavor of a salad while staying full. One of the things that I appreciated is that there are so many ingredients in the bowl, that every bite is different.
I plan on making this a weekly lunch spot, as it seems like you can have a huge flavor variety of flavors. Berde is a place where health ≠ hunger.
Amazing healthy, fresh and very tasty food. I loved this place 😍 Just wish there was one in Jakarta as I reckon I would be a regular. Thanks for a delicious lunch and very friendly service.
I like the concept of DIY filipino healthy dishes. Price is very reasonable and it’s good for lunch or quick dinners during workdays. I’d go back all the time. Visit visit visit. They have vegetarian options too.
One of the best things I’ve eaten this year. A lot of farm-to-table themed restaurants have popped up, yet Berde Bowls stands out. Flavour, Sourcing and Packaging are what makes them a real winner. I can’t believe I waited so long to try them! They also don’t overcharge you for a great meal. A fresh glass of their Blueko (Buko juice colored with blue flowers) goes well with your berde bowl :) Try it, you’ll wonder too what took you so long to get here.
The only photo i remembered to take was my takeout from the night before — and yes, it was still amazingly good.
Another DIY healthy bowl right in the middle of Makati! This rice, salad and protein combo is actually not a bad idea. The concept is similar to poke bowls, but this time, with a Filipino twist.
Mark Dee and I ordered one bowl each, The Bangka (fish kinilaw) and mine’s a DIY bowl with Beef Adobo. Each bowl consists of rice, some greens, protein, veggies, pickled veggies, toppings and lastly, the sauce. The price range starts from 250 to 350, a bit pricey, but they do have big servings for the rice and protein. You also have the option to add additional ingredients for an additional fee.
Aside from their mains, they do have banana and taro chips. The taro chips were good, with the right amount of salt, also not oily. One bag costs 70.
Overall, I think their price range is a bit on the mid to high range, but the food they offer is definitely of good quality and has a reasonable serving size.
I have been meaning to try this out ever since it opened. There really should be more restaurants that serve healthy dishes in this district. We are so used to those quick and fast served dishes that it does take a toll on one’s health. That’s why I’m so glad that these Filipino-inspired rice and salad bowls will have me turning green. 😛
We love every bowl we have tried! We will Definitely come back for more! Although it’s a little pricey for some coz it’s a single-serve and the ingredients are quite simple and cheap if bought fresh in the market or your local grocers you’ll loooooooove the taste. I tried the Bangka —in red rice instead of white and I surely love the blending of its flavors in my mouth. You’d think the bowl is too big or too much for a single serving but I haven’t noticed I already finished my bowl of Kilawing Tuna coz I was too engrossed with my gastronomic experience! It’s an experience that’s definitely worth repeating! Love the ambiance and fast service! They stayed true to their tagline: Fast, Healthy and Delicious! and delivered more than what they promised!

Favorite lunch spot in makati. Delicious bowls that are super filling. Add alot to it but flavors are really on point. Red sauce is amazing and get extra.
I’m a New Yorker by ways of Sausalito, California , overseeing a project in Manila. While company lunches are great , it gets too heavy and repetitive sometimes and I long for the health food joints sprawling all over Manhattan . The closest thing I found to fulfill my craving was Berde. I later found out the manager is actually from NYC.
It is a progressive approach to cuisine in an elegant , modern and convenient setting . I highly recommend it to anyone! They do delivery too , which makes it even better !
This place is amazing - so fresh and delicious with lots of combinations and really great flavors ! Really a step above anything like it in Manila
A tad too pricey, but this is what you pay for good food in this day and age. I hope they pay their farmers properly.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved the food and the place (the stray cats outside help). Tired of Salad Stop? Try this one for size.

My go to place during the work week for a macro balanced meal. Try customizing the bowls after you’ve tried all the standards. Friendly wait staff too! Healthy Pinoy cuisine, finally!
Went here out of curiosity, and a means for a better and cleaner stomach "lifestyle". And also to try something new in comparison to the usual food around the vicinity.
Ordered The Manok-Out:
●Inasal Chicken. Classic tasting roasted inasal chicken. The meat is tasty but a little bit dry. BUT this was the highlight of the dish....and it did.
●Malunggay Coconut Pumpkin mash. Better to be tasted when mixed together with the vegetable salad. Tasted quite sweet, from the pumpkin and coconut combination, plus the mild bitternes of malunggay.
●Red rice. No qualms about the rice. Well cooked and fluffy. It is served hot-warm temperature so you can chow down without scorching your tongue. And it is healthy.
●Green sauce. Maybe vegetarians will really like this. You can ask the people behind the counter what exactly is the sauce :)
●Peanut. This should be included based on the menu's breakdown. But this wasn't on my bowl upon serving.....and this might be the only let down for this review.
●Calamansi Red Onion Pickle. Strong tasting acidity to complement salad and the rice meal. Again, it is at its best when mixed with the vegetable salad.
We arrived around 7pm of a busy Friday night. The serving was fast, and also big. Considering the composition of the food, this can easily fill your stomach. Price is worth it considering the ingredients and the serving size.
The place is nice, homey and will encourage you to share tables with others. But it is a bit cramped in between seats.
Definitely worth the time and money.... and health.
Hopefully Berde will have other outlets soon.
I have been really curious about this place. Berde Bowls located at Ayala Triangle is a Filipino restaurant serving local dishes in a healthier way.
I noticed that Filipino cuisine has struggled to have a healthier angle as most dishes are into deep fried or greasy and meaty stews. Berde takes us away from that and highlights the vegetables in the meal and provides you with protein choices.
I went for the MonGo Green, that cost 250. It was monggo-kare-kare fusion with gising gising and other veggies. It was less sinful than your usual Filipino fare. I like how there are different textures but the taste was not quite savory. It would also be nice if they could provide a calorie count of the dishes. Health conscious people would definitely appreciate that.
The place is clean but you have to share tables with other people. Service was quick and efficient. Overall it was good, but not quite memorable. For 250, I'll rethink whether to come back.
I believe it's a really great concept and it kinda reminds me of a Filipino version of salad stop. Unfortunately, when I came, the Inasal Chicken was still out of stock. :(
I tried the "Bangka" and it was actually really good. I'm glad they allow you to change the white rice to red rice. The green sauce was rly flavorful. I liked the combination of the veggies & other toppings together. Hope to try the chicken soon or the other meats!
Hope they open up in other areas too!
Been longing to try this one out and it did not disappoint. Staying true to its tagline: Healthy, Fast and Delicious Food.
The place kind of resembles Salad Stop but Berde Bowls definitely offers something different and new. Healthy bowls that are not just salads and greens but also with different kinds of rice and proteins to choose from.
Tried the Mushroom Monggo Kare-Kare bowl which is their Vegetarian bowl (P250) — red rice, vegetarian gising-gising, berde salad mix, calamansi red onion pickles, crispy shallots, red sauce and of course the mushroom monggo kare-kare. I added an additional protein, pork karnitas (P70). Everything in the bowl was HEALTHY! I enjoyed every bite with all the different textures and flavors. Initially, I thought it would have a bland and leafy taste but surprisingly, it’s not! DELICIOUS!
Service, I just ordered what I wanted from the guy fixing the food at the start of the line then by the time I finish paying at the counter and seat a minute or two, the food is being served already. FAST!
I guess the only thing holding me back from going here frequently would be the price but other than that, everything was really great! I’d like to try their chicken bowl when I get the chance to go back as this gets sold out first.
Healthy, Fast, and Delicious food.
I've lived here my whole life and its been a struggle to find tasty healthy restaurant options in the city. So glad I've found Berde. Been a huge fan ever since!
This healthy bowl concept is frequently compared to Salad Stop and JUJU but there are a number of things that make Berde so much better.
1. Berde has a major focus on uplifting local ingredients and supporting local farmers. (You can see their list of suppliers on their chalkboard displayed on their wall so you know they aren't lying.)
2. Everything that goes into your bowl is carefully prepared and cooked fresh everyday with love and effort by their talented kitchen staff. (Not just chopped up and served. ;) )
3. Tasty VEGAN, VEGETARIAN, and MEATLOVER options for everyone to enjoy!
4. Banana bread that is actually yummy and not dry like others I've had
5. Refreshing drinks that also have tons of health benefits. (No sugar added!!!!)
Don't be afraid to make your own bowl. The chef worked his magic to make sure everything works well together! You can't go wrong. I promise.
Lazy to think of what to make? All signature bowls are AWESOME! Personal favourites are the Baka Bowl and Baboy Oh Boy!
(Suggestion: Get an extra side of ensaladang talong and pumpkin mash with the Baboy Oh Boy. Trust me.)
Convenient location. Fast and friendly service. We tried a few of the signature bowls including the pork carnitas and beef adobo. All tasty!
My make your own Berde Bowl. I asked for salad greens, pork carnitas, malunggay coconut pumpkin mash, shallots and the green chimichuri sauce. I was skeptical, but I ended up loving this! My favorites were the mash and chimichuri sauce. The pork was nice and tender too!
The only drawback for me was the price. I found it too expensive at P310.00 for a moderate sized bowl.
I really love their signature the manok out which is so filling and healthy. All this while, i found that many restaurant in Manila didn’t provide greens or maybe I not sure how to order the greens until I found Salad Stop. But when this Berde bowl launched, I’ve been Their big fan whenever I have no idea what to eat. What u need to try is their green sauce and the fermented chilli sauce which will bring u to another level of eating.
New favorite spot for lunch in Makati. Healthy meets delicious. Love the option to make my own bowl. Personal favorite is half red rice half salad, beef adobo, pork karnita, gising gising, ensaladang talong, topped off with shallots and garlic and pickled onion. Masarap
In our many meetups in the Ayala Triangle area, we have been keeping an eye out for this place named Berde, while it was still being remodeled inside one of the spaces there. And in the first week of October, we finally had the chance to do so. Berde, which translates to the color Green in Spanish, runs with the concept of choose-your-own-toppings into a salad or rice bowl. And to simplify this, one picks their protein, grains, greens / vegetables, and sauce, or pick a pre-selected bowl combination. However, what sets them differently from Faburrito or Salad Stop is their selection that’s tailored to Filipino tastes. At the same time, they also like a bit of diversity since they display their fish of the day, which for today was tuna.
Been in Manila for 3 years now and I've tried just about every hidden gem, hole-in-the-wall, fine dining restaurant, in all of the nooks and crannies but Berde is my absolute favourite.
I'm a Chipotle (healthy mexican bowl food chain) addict. So coming here, I didn't have anything to fill that void until Berde came along. I'll use Chipotle as a proxy to outline on what I feel Berde does better and that's three things:
1) More flavour, more variety, more selections, all without compromising the overall palette.
2) It is exorbitantly healthier than Chipotle. Every ingredient is accounted for.
3) The proteins are meticulously prepared and taste better than Chipotle's proteins.
Though they are comparable in terms of taste, quality, and design, in the end, I know Berde has a much more unique identity that can surmount what Chipotle has done. Berde is changing the way we look at ''healthy eating.'' I think the common misconception of what it means to eat healthy comes at the cost of taste but the beauty behind this concept is that taste and health do go hand-in-hand, and that to me is the most evident sign of culinary success.
If you're looking for a quick, healthy, weekday lunch or after dinner option then Berde Bowls should be your go to.
The bowls are either a base of greens, rice (red or white) or a mix of greens and rice. They have five signature bowls (I got The Manok-Out) but you can feel free to customize as you wish. There is sadly no calorie information which is one thing SaladStop/Juju Eats has over these guys but in terms of flavor, quality, freshness and creativity Berde Bowls is on par if not better than any chain out there. In terms of value, I think Berde Bowls is one of the best. They are on par with the sizes from Wholesome Table while being almost half the price and for the same price they definitely feel more filling than Juju Eats or SaladStop. From what I could tell, the macro profiles of the bowls are pretty good. Low carb, healthy fats, lean protein.
The ambience is clean and casual. The food comes well presented considering this is a fast casual spot. Service is quick and I was in and out in 20 minutes.
All in all this is the PERFECT healthy workday lunch spot. I will be visiting many more times in the future.
UPDATE: I went back for lunch the very next day and got the Baboy Oh Boy signature salad. I think I liked this one even more! The manager, Ryan, was there and answered a question I had about the variety of rice being used and we had a nice chat about the business itself. He also introduced me to the hot sauces they make. The Sriracha fermented hot sauce is not a joke! However, it's not ridiculously burning and leaves a nice taste and tingle in your mouth after. All in all, still a 5/5 and people should come by ASAP.
