Everything bout this restaurant was perfect however my steak was cooked rarer than i wanted, i did request for a medium rare but it was more on the rare side. Other than that, perfect place for a date ❤️
Great food. Great service.
Hidden gem, should visit. Not a massive choice but well prepared fine dining, nice people, great food. I come here every time I visit Manila and cost reasonable!
First time here and it was a pleasant experience. We ordered the pear rocket salad, aglio e olio and prawn linguine pasta, and the prime grade rib eye steak.
The salad was good, tho we had to replace the one they intially served as there was a hair strand. They were very apologetic so we decided to stay and give the restaurant a chance. Thank goodness we did, as the other food they served us were also good. Both pasta we ordered were also good. The crunchy garlic in aglio e olio gave it more texture and the prawn in the linguine was big enough. Lastly, the steak, we had it medium rare. It was satisfyingly tender and flavorful.
I could have given them a perfect rating if not for the salad incident. But the whole experience and the food was still generally good. We’ll definitely go back.

➰BUTTERNUT SQUASH: 4/5
I find it too sweet for my palate, but definitely a good starter. What I like about the soup is that it has a hint of nutty flavor from the hazelnut, and of course the bacon bits! Didn’t get to taste the goat cheese that much tho.
➰SEARED SCALLOPS: 5/5
Definitely the star of the night for me. Flavorful chunk of scallops with caramelized tomato tart. Not a fan of eating tomatoes, but this is a game changer. The sweet taste of the tomato tart is a perfect match for this dish. If only I could stuff the whole scallop + tomato tart in one bite. Superb!
➰PAN SEARED TENDERLOIN: 5/5
The bordalaise sauce goes very well with the tender meat. Wish I could have more of the red wine braised onions tho. As for the mashed potato, it is tasty as well and has a very creamy texture. Nothing to say that much about this one, since my boyfriend is the one who ordered this.
➰SANGRIA: 3.5/5
Nothing special with this drink but I believe scallops and tenderloin are best paired with a glass of red wine, yes?
SERVICE: 5/5
I keep on coming back here for the pear rocket salad. This last time I also had the poached sole with cauliflower, which was excellent.
Chocolate! X3 dessert was OK but nothing special. And they weee out of wines by the glass so I had to settle with a cocktail.
One of the best fine dining restaurant ive been to. Everything is so detailed. My favorite was the mousse salad. I cant forget how it tastes. Been planning to go back there. 😋
Small place but packed with a thousand good flavors. Their lunch set menu was exquisite and can really fill a grown man's stomach. The braised beef brisket and the squash soup were so delish and remarkable. The fried potatoes were cooked to perfection. Though I am not a fine dining type of guy, our lunch was an amazing culinary experience.
Had dessert and lemonade to celebrate my partner’s bday last Oct 22. It was a good experience. The restaurant isn’t crowded and the interior looks classy. The service is also fairly good!
We will definitely come back to try their main dishes.
Probably one of the finest restaurants in Makati in terms of the quality and originality of the food, the decor and the service. Soups served from tea pots is delicious. Of course it is not cheap and portion are not so large but it is really worth giving it a try!
The restaurant reminds me of a place in small town America. The lighting and the fixtures got me. The Pear Rocket Salad and the Prime Rib Steak with crispy potatoes are really good. The servings are huge.
It's a small quaint place that is very easy to miss if you don't look for it hard enough. Servers here are extremely accomodating and professional especially with timing the courses. The food tasted great and presentation is nice, price is definitely on the high end while servings are a bit small for my taste.
Food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Would always recommend this place when my friends ask me to recommend a good lowkey place to eat in Makati. Can’t wait for the next time I visit.
Stockton Place has got to be one of the most underrated restaurants in Makati. I’ve been here thrice, each for special occasions, and they never fail to disappoint. It’s a quaint and peaceful place with a hearty menu. Indulge yourself with the butternut squash soup, foie gras salad, crispy pork belly, and seared scallops. For dessert, try the cheesecake.
Just as the saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover. Next time you’re in Makati, try this place out and leave feeling speechless yet satisfied.

Excellent service, and very accomodating staff considering I called late for a Mother's Day reservation. Got the following: Pear Rocket, Wild Mushroom Soup, Crispy Pork Belly, Cheesecake and S'mores (there was a Mother's Day special... free desserts for the moms!). Loved the soup... loved the layers of flavor created by mixing the parmesan foam with the mushroom puree. Crispy Pork Belly was above par... didn't really seem entirely worth the price tag. LOVED THE DESSERTS... a visit to Stockton will not be complete without tasting their Cheesecake :-) It will rock your world!

This was one of those restaurants wherein Richie really really really regretted not being able to make it. It was all because on one photo: A picture can paint a thousand words. But this photo made Richie speechless sulk in his work desk for the whole night. Hehehe... But we’ll get back to that later...
Quaint restaurant serving the possibly the best beef steak I have ever had thus far in my life. Their Prime Grade Rib Eye Steak had such a myriad of flavours on its own, but the crispy potato side only served to make us want more. You can call and reserve the smallest size they have for the day, but so far it has always been 750g minimum. Nonetheless, it is so good, two can finish it if you try!
Their accomodating service is top-notch, you know they will always try their best to serve you better every visit.
Looking forward to my next visit, for my beef steak fix. Writing this review has made my mouth water again.
Finally made it to Stockton Place on Friday evening to try out their steak and scallops. Luckily they werent fully booked, so we managed to get a table.
Started off with glasses of pinot noir and summer sangria. The Path Pinot Noir from California was quite aromatic and smooth. Summer Sangria was very good.
First course was a unique chilled Caprese salad. The caprese was chilled, sweet and paired with fruits. Very refreshing.
Mains were Pan-Seared Tenderloin and Seared Scallops. Both dishes were excellent. Tenderloin was succulent and tasty. The seared scallops are the best i've tasted in the Metro. The caramelized tomato tart served with the scallops was exquisite.
Had a tasty Milk & Honey dessert to round out the meal.
Excellent food. Truly top notch and high level preparation, presentation, taste and quality. Service is excellent as well. The steak had perfect doneness. The scallops were righlty one of their specialties. Only issue was the place needs some general cleaning. Place is designed rustic but i sure it easnt designed dusty. The aircon vent and the walls/posts could use some wiping. :) most likely because they have been so busy since they opened in 2013. Excellent restaurant.
The steak was fantastic! We ordered the steak good for 4 and there was just 2 of us but we managed to finish all of the meat, they serve this with a side of fried truffle potatoes. The squash/pumpkin soup was good too.
It was so nice to be back in this cozy and fine dining place in Salcedo Village in Makati. It has the same contemporary interiors, since the last time I visited. The menu written in the chalkboard is still there!
At past 7pm, we are lucky to be seated. The servers are helpful in giving recommendations.
For appetizer, we had Foie Gras Salad. Good for 2 pax. It has Foie Gras shavings over mixed greens and peanut puree. Need I say more?
For our main dish:
🍴Pan Seared Tenderloin- perfectly flavored slash tender meat. It has red wine braised onions, brioche crumbles, bordelaise sauce & mashed potatoes. There are flowers that topped the dishes.
🍴Sole- something new to me. It is served in Cauliflower puree, caper-almond gremolata and potato lace.
Verdict: The Pan Seared Tenderloin is highly recommended. Tasty and filling! The Sole is something new, it seems like it its quite “bitin”, but its some kinda heavy. But I’m still puzzled, didnt taste like fish. Place offers quality selection, the menu is short & simple. Still one of the nice date places, extra pogi points to my date.
Stockton is popular among foreign customers. The waiters are polite and accommodating, and speak fluent English. I suggest ordering ala carte instead of the set menu because, according to our waiter, the serving size is small.
The butternut squash is a creamy soup that blends well with goat cheese and hazelnut. Their aglio e olio pasta is covered with a mound of garlic flakes. It was delicious but a little too oily. Our mains were a fresh poached sole (fish with lemon sauce); and a tender, braised beef brisket topped with a sweet glaze.
Found their Clam Linguini very good (a bit hard to find really good Vongole these days), but the Seared Scallops are to die for! So good! Downside is the price. Wouldn't mind going back though.
One of the best meals I've had in Metro Manila. I ordered a salad, main (pasta), and dessert. All items were well prepared, and beautifully plated.
Given the food quality, the prices were reasonable.
Place is very small but cozy.
Their best seller is the beef but my friends were not impressed by it. It was tasteless according to their taste an order was good enough for 3 girls. I dont eat beef so couldnt comment. It was a huge serving that we had to take home the steak but the waiter forgot to give it to us when we left.
The scallops n poached chicken were good n so was the pear salad.
No appetizers on their menu too.
This is an elegant place in Legaspi Village. A date go-to place and it's pricey.
We wanted to have the Rib Eye Steak but the minimum order is 800 grams which is too much for us. Taking it out is also not a good idea for a steak left over. So we just settled for something else, other item we wanted is out of stock. I suggest they provide smaller cuts. 3/5
Pasta Aglio e Olio - nothing special. it's full of garlic chips and oil. The flavor of garlic didn't kick in much. This was recommended by the server, so please don't get this when you visit.
Crispy Pork Belly - is a small slice of pork and it's NOT CRISPY at all. It's a pricey plate. The mashed potato tasted good only it's not the typical "solid" mashed potato, this is a soft version.. I liked the mashed potato and I hope the portion was a little bit more. 3/5
Milk & Honey - this is a very delicious dessert. It's milk ice cream with honeycomb. It's just delicious. It's pricey but, I'll let it pass because it was created with love and a good blend of flavors. Dehydrated milkfoam is heaven. I give this a 5/5
I will try this place again in the future.

The place is nice and neat, the servers are very friendly and accommodating. The food though we didn't mind waiting, took a bit of time to arrive but it was fine. The food served were really fab and looks nice but tastes better than how they looked. Pricing maybe a little hefty but we didn't make a fuss since we are after good food. Parking though is scarce. Thats a 4/5 rating for me.
Tucked in unsuspecting neighborhood of Legaspi, this humble-looking place is a must try for every foodie in Manila.
We dined here for a date night. We reserved the table near the bar and the air-conditioning(don't book this table if you're claustrophobic) to have more privacy when we talk(because we mostly talk about patients' cases).
Foods we ordered:
Foie Gras Salad - this was delicious but not that spectacular. The generous shavings of foie gras justify the price.
Seared Scallops - came in a beautiful presentation with caramelized tomato tart. The tomato tart was sweet with a slight hint of tanginess. The scallops were succulent. Scallops + tart = perfect explosion of juice and flavors on your mouth.
Ribeye Steak - this was the star of that evening. We asked for a medium rare and they've perfectly done it! It came with potato frites which were really good and crunchy(Go well with ketchup for me haha). The handsome slab of meat was just perfect for that special occasion. I've heard excellent reviews regarding this and I was not disappointed 👍🏼
For drinks, I ordered their green fizz cocktail which was refreshing.
The place is small, but it was not full when we dined. The service was great.
Their table is too small for their plates.
The bar area needs some tidying up. As we were seated very near the bar, I could see logbooks, calculator, charger on top of the bar amidst their wines, champagnes and other drinks. A bit of sore for the eyes.
But overall, I enjoyed the night and I thoroughly enjoyed the food.
The owners run this very cozy restaurant with lovely ambience. The chef is one of the owners and can be found in the kitchen paying attention to the marvellous food they serve. Try the steak as it is quite good.
I tried their poached chicken and crispy
Pork belly for dinner last week and it was just a party in the mouth. Chicken and pork were both very tender and savory, presentation was excellent although outdoor dining was just a bit hot despite the ceiling fan.
The wild mushroom soup, pan grilled sirloin salad, seared scallops with caramelized tomato tart, and s'mores cake were pure gastronomic sorcery. I'll prolly dream of that tomato tart in the days to come. Light, tasty, celebratory fare!
As stoked as I was to dig into Legaspi Village's selection of poutines, smoked meats, single-shot espressos and bagels, nothing compared to the excitement and anticipation of sitting down for a meal at this lavish European dining. Chef Celine's temple of all things meaty, unctuous bar list, and over-the-top desserts came highly recommended to me by my sorrority sisters, and every foodie who’s ever traveled to the area. Stockton's menu predominantly features traditional crowd-pleasers flourished with a contemporary touch, which seems a staunchly safe bet for the steadfast audience of degustation lovers.
To start, we were brought a warm and crusty baguette tucked inside a napkin with softened butter served alongside. Although we didn’t plan on eating much of the bread and butter due to the impending spread, it proved too enticing to resist. For some reason incomprehensible to me, my friends insisted that we order a salad with our meal. Our waiter suggested that we try the Pear Rocket, which turned out to be sweeter than expected, much to the dismay of my dining companions. The heap of mixed greens, caramelized walnuts, roquefort cheese, and thin slices of pears, was dressed in a tangy herb vinaigrette with lardons interspersed here and there. Oh man, the Seared Scallops were perfect! Sweet and immaculately presented with tomato tart and wild garlic, alongside a crisp, summery 2012 Bordeaux wine pairing. Giving an extra bit of savoury pep, the roasted peppers were a clever addition to contrast against the sweet scallop flesh, whilst fronds of lime extract added a smidge of garden-fresh tanginess.
For those who are planning a Paris binge or simply want to digest the gastronomic scene vicariously, the Stockton Place is a sure getaway!
Nice ambience. Food is quite expensive based on the size of its serving portions but the flavors are exquisite! Perfect for a romantic dinner date 😍
Another beautiful night at Stockton! Gorgeous food with hands down stunning taste and great service always make our dining experience here awesome!
Normally, a good restaurant has 1 to 3 remarkable dishes that are worth coming back for. Stockton for me is an outlier because everything I've tasted are worth coming back for. Continue to be AMAZING Stockton!!!
This place is just wonderful. Been to so many restaurants in the lagaspi greenbelt area and this one may be the finest. Service is impeccable, and the food is truly unique. My wife and I shared a caprese salad. This is usually traditional mozzarella tomatoes and basil, in this case the mozzarella is mozzarella ice cream. Unique! My wife had the scallops with tomato tart. While the scallops were truly perfect the tart was Unique and very very good. I had the charred corn ravioli. No way any explanation could this Unique dish justice. It was superb!
For dessert we had the toffee pudding crumble. OMG. this place is small, intimate and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
This place was popping even on a Monday night. So popping that parking became an issue for a little bit and I basically had a scenic driving tour of Legazpi Village by the time I got a decent spot (I’m lazy and didn’t want to walk far at night).
For me Stockton Place has that country home type feel with rustic white wooden furniture and an al fresco area for those who wanna enjoy the fresh Makati air (as fresh as it can get anyway) or for those who want to enjoy a smoke with their meal. I was half tempted to book a table outside cause people watching (aka judging) is a favorite past time but the summer heat was unbearable even at night so a table inside was in order.
I waited for my friends and started with a Bourbon Tea Sour because the happiest hour is the hour you make it to be. Also, I just really like anything with whiskey and tea so they got me. Sneaky. That drink was amazing. Just sharp enough that you can taste a little bourbon right before the taste of tea. Not too strong that it would turn off anyone trying a whiskey drink for the first time. I wish I wasn’t driving so I could have another. Designated driver for life! #hellaresponsible All their drinks sound so refreshing especially for the hot weather.
Once my friends arrived we ordered the following: pear rocket salad, poached chicken, and crispy pork belly. The salad was was a great combination. After all you can’t really go wrong with arugula, pears, and balsamic. I didn’t try the chicken but it looked perfectly tender and not dry at all. To be honest, I had settled for pork belly because I was aiming for steak but the price was a little steep. More on price later. The pork belly was pork belly heaven! There wasn’t too much fat so I felt like I could partake in its goodness. I’m sorry heart. I’m not a big fan of skin but the skin on this was not too crispy and not too soggy. And let’s talk about the meat. The pork had that rich pork flavor but none of that funky smell I’ve encountered elsewhere. The flavor was so good that I forgot to dip it in the sauce the whole time. Oops. Mashed potatoes were more pureé than mashed. I don't know about you but I prefer my chunky mashed. You know, skin on, country style.
Onto the price: I did find the price for the food a little on the steep side as compared to the servings sizes so I don’t feel like I got the full experience. Oh well, I’ll save it for my next visit.
Pro Tip: A friend of mine who is a chef or sous chef or something to that extent (she knows her food) says it’s hard to get a table even on weekdays so make a reservation. It was semi packed on the Monday night that we went on.
Restaurant is tucked in the quiet part of Legaspi Village. I loved the humongous seared scallops but what made it really memorable was the surprisingly wonderful taste of the caramelized tomatoes...even if you are not a tomato fan you will love this dish. I also recommend their steak which is right up my alley in terms of flavor and quality. Price is too steep though!
For the past few years, I always make it a point to celebrate my birthday with my friends aside from the usual birthday dinner with my family. This year was quite different; I just wanted to have a quiet, simple and intimate dinner with my family. I wasn’t actually expecting that I’d be able to have dinner with them since I was supposed to work during that night but since my partners told me that I don’t have to worry about anything on that day and that they could take my place, I immediately told my mom that we can have dinner out. Though they already had a plan in mind, they still let me choose where I wanted to eat and without a doubt, I chose Stockton Place.
This wasn’t the first time I was in Stockton Place, the first one was J and I’s first anniversary last year. The reason why I suggested the place was not only because I miss the restaurant’s mouthwatering steak but also, I wanted to try the steak I have been jabbering about.
The place has been operating for more than a year now but even so, people still come back for it. For some who haven’t tried Stockton yet, make sure to call them first before heading to the restaurant because they have very limited seats and could only accommodate a few. When I dined here a year ago, the place was packed, leaving no tables empty. Fast forward to a year after, still, nothing has changed.
Creamy Wild Mushroom Soup (P285)
I was actually debating whether I’d get this or the squash soup but since my mom and two of my siblings ordered this, I decided to get the latter. Stockton has their own way of serving soups. I noticed this because the last time I was here, I ordered the squash soup and it was served similarly like how this was served.
Placing the Parmesan foam and prosciutto crisps in a bowl, the wild mushroom soup is then poured. A mild and savory dish to start the ball rolling, in preparation for the upcoming exquisite dishes!
Butternut Squash Soup (P250)
With goat cheese tortellini and bacon crumble, there’s nothing you could ask for! Stockton’s version of squash soup also includes hazelnut so don’t be surprised with the hint of sweetness you are about to taste! Between the two, I still prefer this over the other nevertheless, both tasted great!
Foie Gras Salad (P450)
Never will I miss foie gras. This luxurious salad was served chilled with shavings of foie gras on a bed of mixed greens, pickled cocktail onions and peanut puree. Since the foie gras was cold, I could only eat a piece of the shavings. For people who are not fond of foie gras, I suggest it’s better to order other salads instead.
Pear Rocket (P300)
Order this salad and you get the best of both worlds! Said to be one of their bestsellers, this salad came with blue cheese, caramelized walnuts and dressed with Pommery vinaigrette, which created a wonderful combination of sweet and tangy flavors. Added with the full-flavored blue cheese, this salad was truly saporific!
Clam Linguine (P360)
My dad’s staple grub – pasta.
Caramelized Portobello Mushroom Tart (P650)
This simple yet elegant dish is not all there is! Once cut, the aroma of the Portobello Mushroom explodes and its fresh, robust smell fills up the air. The mild truffle asparagus is best paired with the tart as it comes hand in hand, balancing each other’s flavors – lessening the pungent taste of the main dish while relishing the puree.
Sweet Potato Tortellini (P370)
Comparing it to the other dishes, it tasted just okay which is why I guess it didn’t sell like hotcakes unlike the other dishes. I found the tortellini to be a bit thick, making the fillings see invisible.
Seared Scallops (P950)
During my first visit, almost every table was ordering this particular dish and it seemed like J and I were the only ones who didn’t. So, I made sure that we order it during that night. Justifying the beautiful presentation of this dish, the scallops were huge and succulent. One piece wasn’t enough! The caramelized tomato tart was appetizing and definitely one of a kind, never did I feel it was dull.
Prime Grade Rib Eye (P490/100g)
THE GRAND FINALE. Stockton never fails to cook their steak to perfection and I guess this is one reason why people keep coming back to the restaurant. it may seem a bit expensive but comparing it to the other steaks, I must say this is already affordable considering the quality. I’m glad my siblings loved it! My 8-year old sister even ate a huge chunk! One thing I like about their steak is that it doesn’t come with the traditional fries rather toasted potatoes that tasted crispy on the outside but cooked just right on the inside.
I’m glad that some things remained the same and that is, Stockton still serves exquisite, quality dishes that are both beautiful inside and out. It was very unusual that we skipped dessert but we were just too full! That will be my agenda on my next visit then! :) I swear, order the Butternut Squash Soup, Pear Rocket, Caramelized Mushroom Tart, Seared Scallops and the PRIME GRADE RIB EYE STEAK, and you’re good to go!

Bestest in the menu and is really a must try here:
Creamy wild mushroom soup
Butternut squash soup
Pear rocket salad
Clam linguine pasta
Seared scallops
Prime grade rib eye steak
Toffee pudding cake
Irish pear cocktail
Ordered for 3 but can accommodate 4! Worth every penny but taste so much more! :)
Need I say more about this place? Make a reservation, save-up, and dine. The scallops, steak, and foie gras is to die for.
I also would recommend their pumpkin soup, and the linguini clams. Very savoury but light on the stomach, leaving room for the epic steak.
I love this place, I can live in this restaurant. The scallops and tomato tart is something I dream about constantly. This is the only place I really go to for proper steak-- to which you can swap your truffle fries for mash potato or salad. Do NOT skip dessert. The deserts are awesome. I need a Stockton fix every month.
One of the best steaks in manila now. One of those places wherein you shouldnt have to question the price for the steak. Have not tried anything else though besides the steak.
This place came highly recommended by my friends so I brought my wife here to celebrate our anniversary. We started off with the squash soup and aglio e olio pasta and had the scallops and a whopping 800 gram ribeye steak cooked medium well. Impeccable service but I don't think I'll be coming back for the food.
One of the best steak dishes I've had was from Stockton Place. Nice, cozy atmosphere right in the heart of Legazpi Village. Not exactly cheap. We had several dishes but on the steak comes top of mind.
I got the chance to finally try Stockton Place, a small quaint restaurant near Legaspi Park.
The moment that you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted with probably the best restaurant staff that I have ever encountered. Our lady server explained to us which dish would be perfect for which particular cocktail.
Interior and Exterior Design:
The design of the restaurant reminds me of small coffee shops located along the streets of London or San Francisco. With white walls and black decor, this restaurant would pass a modern chic feeling. Good job on the interiors.
Food:
I got the Crispy Pork Belly (PHP650) - Cherry pork sauce, onion puree, and pommery mashed potatoes. The pork belly was tender and the fat was just proportional with the meat - after all pork belly has the right amount of fat. The skin was perfectly cooked as well. I think the cherry pork sauce was the highlight of the dish as it gave life to the pork belly. My only comment though is that the dish would have been worth my buck (Php650 for one slice) if it was served with a green salad or something on the side. So I gave it a 3.5 out of 5.0 due to the hefty price tag. I would compare it with Old Swiss Inn's pork knuckles if I don't want to be too technical about it - I get the same tender pork but with more meat on it.
My friend got the Poached Chicken (Php550) with Truffle Mushroom duxelle, truffled mashed potatoes and crisp chicken skin. I only got to try a piece but the chicken was juicy and the truffle mushroom was a perfect match. The highlight of this dish was the chicken's crispy skin. You would sense that the technical difficulty of preparing this dish was well thought of.
Cocktails:
I ordered their Sweet Patootie (PHP195) - Gin, Cointreau, orange juice, orange soda. It had a kick to it and it was the perfect cocktail to end a very busy week. It was on the citrus side and the drink was very refreshing.
Dessert:
A friend recommended that I get the Chocolate Marquise (Php350) - creme angalise, almond tuile, fresh berries and crystalized mint. The presentation was equally appealing as well with the taste. It was a perfect dessert to cap a dinner.
Over-all:
Big plate, small serving, relatively hefty price tag. If it were priced Php100.00 lower or servings were more generous then I would come back. But I would give it to the Chef who would prepare such gorgeous meals.
Very fantastic and cosy restaurant ! The Chief is very good : he mix the sugared and salted flavours with a lot of delicacy. The number of possibilities in the menu are small but all the choices are very amazing and the taste really sole. I recommand a lot this restaurant to discover an other world of the Italian's cook ! Congratulations !
We chose to have dinner at Stockton Place and I was surprised to see that the place was full even on a weeknight. The place was small, only accommodating around 30 people. Since it was our first time in the restaurant, the server kindly explained the different dishes and informed us of their bestsellers.
We requested two orders of butternut squash soup and asked for it to be divided into three (there were three of us). The soup was composed of goat cheese tortellini, and hazelnut and bacon crumble. The goat cheese and the finely chopped nuts gave the squash soup an unexpected twist, which took it to the next level! Next, we had the Foie Gras salad (shavings on a bed of mixed greens, pickled cocktail onions and peanut puree) and Pear Rocket salad (pommery vinaigrette with bleu cheese and caramelized walnuts). Both salads were wiped out a few minutes after serving! The foie gras wasn't as flavorful as expected though.
Next came the Prime Grade Rib Eye Steak (one serving usually weights 800-1000g) and costs Php490/100g. The steak was served with Bordelaise sauce and a hefty serving of crispy potatoes. Both steak and potatoes were sprinkled with truffle oil, which I absolutely loved. Extra truffle oil (around 1-1 1/2 tbsp) costs Php50. I was impressed with the flavor and tastiness of the steak, but it was not as tender as I hoped.
The other main entree we had was the Seared Scallops (lime crème fraiche, roasted peppers, and a caramelized tomato tart). The tomato tart was amazing! It didn't taste like it was made from tomatoes because of its natural sweetness. The scallops were also okay, just make sure to eat them while hot!
For my drink, I chose the Summer Sangria. It was sweet and fruity, but it wasn't my type.
If you're planning on visiting this restaurant, I highly recommend you try their salads. Steak is great too if you're not as particular as me when it comes to tenderness. In my case, I'll be ordering the pasta the next time I visit!
Every dish was superb! I don't have anything else to say. You have to try the food here.
Stockton Place is a bit out of the way if you think about how more and more restaurants are closely grouped together in one particular location. However, with a reputation that has foodies talking excitedly and unceasingly about it, I braved the Makati traffic to finally see what all the fuss is about.
The place is quite small, accommodating only 30 people more or less, so it's better to make reservations a few days in advance. It exudes a modern vibe with its black and white theme. You could dine al fresco, but I prefer to be seated inside and avoid the smoke from the cigarettes and passing cars altogether. To the left is a bar with a few selection of wines, while on the right by the far corner is a couple of chalkboards with the whole menu written on it. Not that it was extensive to begin with, but I think it was smart to just focus on a few dishes and execute them well (especially if you're a new restaurant), rather than offering a whole range of comestibles that are all over the place. I hear Chef Celine de los Angeles previously worked at The Goose Station before setting up shop, so I was pretty excited to get a taste of what was in store for us.
We started with the Foie Gras Salad which had generous shavings of foie gras on a bed of mixed greens. Healthy and deadly in one plate, the pickled cocktail onions and peanut puree lent a flavor that successfully broke the otherwise monotonous profile of the dish. I enjoyed its buttery consistency, and the way it melts inside your mouth much like a dream slipping away as you wake up.
A slab of pork belly standing on a puddle of cherry pork sauce initially looks like your familiar porcine favorite. Slice through it and you'll feel the difference -- crisp skin gives way to an immensely tender meat, quite the contrast really. Poke the fork through a piece and taste the difference -- soft with a sweet note followed by unctuous fat then finally a slightly salty layer of skin. Cut another piece and this time swipe it across the pommery mashed potatoes and the sweet onion puree for a better explosion of flavors.
At about 800 to 1,200 grams per steak, the USDA Prime Grade Rib Eye is enough to intimidate and arouse a feeling of excitement and anticipation in every diner lucky enough to be within proximity. This manly meat will make you swoon, drool, and recite a whole litany of expletives while dreamily relishing every bite. You'd think with its stocky build, it would be a challenge to slice through the meat, but no, not this one. This handsome beef was very tender, I had a hard time believing it. There was a lot of that savory fat, and each forkful smothered with Bordelaise sauce was punctuated by salt crystals spread sporadically on the steak's surface. The crispy potatoes were actually good, too; pretty similar to that of Wildflour's.
With that very pleasant meal in mind, I look forward to trying their Tomato Soup, Pan Roasted Sirloin Salad, and Chocolate Marquise dessert, which I hear are excellent as well. Currently though, they're only open for dinner and cocktails; can't wait for them to open for brunch. Never mind that we've only tried three dishes. The fact that every dish was stellar puts Stockton Place on my top list of new restaurants for this year. And that steak will definitely haunt me for months to come.
I've been meaning to go to this place for a while, as it's located very close to my office. I went one time only to realize it was closed on Sundays, my mistake.
Anyway, I booked a table at Stockton Place on the first of the year, to my surprise they were open. When we finally got there I was impressed by the charming decor, it had a metro-rustic elegance to it. My girlfriend and I did a little research before we visited, and we both agreed a lot of the menu looked interesting. We finally decided on the Sweet Potato Tortellini and the Sirloin Steak Salad.
The tortellini was al dente, and I liked the sauce, it was sweet and complemented the filling of the tortellini, however I wished there was more filling because I could barely notice the sweet potato.
The salad was outstanding, the pan seared sirloin was cooked to perfection, the onions were crispy. The arugula was a bit too sour for my taste, but I think it would've been more agreeable had I had a glass of wine paired with it.
For the entree we split Crispy Pork Belly. It came with smartly placed splotches of delicious mashed potatoes, and a few circular servings of gravy. The pork itself was good, the sauce it came in was okay. My girlfriend noted that the pork belly had noticeable chunks of cartilage. I didn't much care for them, but I wouldn't say it's a negative.
The wait staff was very courteous and aware of the status of the dishes we had on our table, and didn't let them sit for very long. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I would visit Stockton Place again, probably to try the steak.
One bite and I knew...probably the best ribeye I've had yet.
Located in the middle of a busy business district, Stockton Place may be a new entry in Makati's competitive culinary landscape, but the dishes stand out with its unique and fresh approach to flavors.
A cozy palette of white tones and light shades give Stockton Place a clean, warm and rustic feel, yet one can sense a cool and modern vibe. And this is evident in the dishes served at Stockton Place, where familiar dishes are given bold flavors and elegantly plated for a unique dining experience. Open Mondays to Saturdays and only for dinner, it's a good move to call ahead for a reservation.
The dinner menu at Stockton Place fits one page, listing seven dishes for starters, five for mains, and five for desserts, which may seem limited. But each dish is a well-thought and conceived dish, and an indication of the kitchen's commitment to serve only the very best. Start your dinner with the signature Foie Gras Salad (P 450), mixed greens with pickled cocktail onions and peanut puree topped with shavings of foie gras. The peanut puree, pickled onions and foie gras provide a complex blend of flavors, and indication of the bold and modern approach to flavors at Stockton Place. Simple dishes with the best ingredients, works all the time.
For the mains, Stockton Place offers an elegant and comforting pork belly dish given a flavorful twist with the kitchen's creative flair for combining different flavors. The Crispy Pork Belly (P 650), a thick slab of pure pork bliss on cherry pork sauce, onion puree and pommery mashed potatoes, elegantly plated with swirls of colors and flavors.
The slab of pork belly is soft and tender, with a nice layer of crispness for that familiar crunch. Slide a piece of pork belly on the cherry pork sauce and onion puree to add a subtle yet rich layer of flavor. An excellent pork dish with a cool modern take, and Stockton Place excels in reinventing familiar and comforting dishes with new flavors for a whole new dining experience.
Then, our steaks arrived. USDA Prime Grade Ribeye (P 450/100 g/800-1200 g per steak), tender premium ribeye grilled to medium rare perfection with Bordelaise sauce and crispy potatoes.
A hint of the Bordelaise with its rich buttery flavor does not overwhelm the prime grade ribeye, as the premium steak's flavors remain intact, given the proper respect any prime cut deserves. I prefer my steaks without any gravy or sauce, specially if its a prime cut, but the Bordelaise works well providing just a whisper of flavor. And the USDA Prime Grade Ribeye doesn't disappoint. More than an inch thick, a single serving (800-1200 g) can be shared by two, unless you're a really hungry dude. Served with a side of simple and comforting crispy potatoes, and that's all you need.
More than an inch thick, perfectly grilled to medium rare with a juicy pink center, just the way it should be. Seriously good. And the crispy potatoes complement the steak perfectly.
Another slice of the USDA Prime Grade Ribeye, with just the right layer of fat for added flavor. And like I said, probably the best ribeye I've had in a long time.
Bold, inventive, and fresh, Stockton Place is definitely a must-try. And if you're looking for a great steak dinner, this is the place. And I'll say it again, probably the best ribeye I've had in a long time...
We enjoyed everything we ordered. The salad with tons of steak slices, the perfectly cooked scallops with the amazing tomato tart and to cap off a beautiful dinner, the dessert with peanut butter foam.
STOCKTON PLACE is hip and cozy restaurant by Chef Celine de los Angeles hidden in Legaspi Village, Makati City. Its well- curated menu is described by the Chef as “approachable and thoughtful”.
Chef Celine is a fresh young talent who shifted from a para-legal and advertising career in LA to a culinary field back in Manila. She graduated in culinary arts from CCA, worked for Manila Peninsula, and hone her craft in The Goose Station before setting up her first- ever Resto, Stockton Place.
The buzz about the resto spread like "Wildflour" reminiscent of the excitement around the opening of Lolo Dad's in Malate.
The resto facade is unassuming and you won't give this a second look if you are just passing along Salcedo St.
If you are coming from Makati Medical Center, drive along Salcedo and it would be on your right just after passing by Gamboa st. Parking is along the street.
The name of the Resto is inspired by Chef Celine's culinary idol, Chef Daniel Humm, one of the few chefs with three Michelan stars and currently the executive chef of Eleven Madison Park in New York City -- #5 in S. Pellegrino's World's Best Restaurants.
Chef Daniel used to be the executive chef at Campton Place Restaurant along Stockton Street in San Francisco hence the name Stockton Place.
The place is a bit cozy with a contemporary design. It's the place to eat and be seen in Makati.
It's always full with about 30+ seat capacity so better reserve at least one week in advance to get a table. It has a cool wine menu listed in a wine diary. The menu is written on the black board.

Foie Gras Salad with shavings of foie gras on a bed of mixed greens & peanut puree. The salad of shaved foie gras and foamy peanut sauce was a unique flavor combination and surprisingly light.
We got a good Chateau Hatu-Terrasson Red Wine which is 55% merlot and 45% cabernet sauvignon to compliment our meal.
Roasted Steak Salad with dressed arugula, crispy onions & steak sauce
I love the combination of fresh arugula with the crispy texture and slices of steak. Although some steak strips are a bit chewy and the arugula’s after- taste was a bit mild.
Sweet Potato Tortellini with a brown butter thyme sauce, hazelnut crumble & prosciutto crisp. I was surprised how the chef was able to make camote pasta tastes so yummy with the sweetness and crunchiness of the hazelnut and the saltiness from the prosciutto. Also, I would like to commend the Chef for the cool presentation of the dishes. It was effortlessly put together, with a playful vibe.
Seared Scallops with lime creme fraiche, & caramelized tomato tart. The scallops are juicy, seared well and a good bite. It's always good to eat it with a little bit of the micro greens, tomato and cream. What makes this awesome is the caramelized tomato with the right sweetness shaped into a pie with a nice crust underneath. This gets my vote for the best dish of the night.
Poached Chicken with truffle mushroom duxelle, truffle mashed potato & crispy chicken skin. Chicken never tasted this good with a mix of lean chicken and mushroom, mashed potato and super crispy chicken skin like the popular balat ng lechon. There seemed to be lot of things going on, but each piece was carefully considered, and the combination of flavors would leave you with a wow on your lips :)
Lemon Parfait with vanilla emulsion, meringue & lemon curd. This was good but it lacked the lemony aftertaste we were looking for, as if playing on the safe side.
Chocolate Marquise with creme anglaise, almond tuile & fresh berries. Love the playfulness of the presentation, making it look like a garden with super yummy chocolate. A perfect ending to a delightful meal.
I'm impressed that the chef can do both gourmet dishes and well-crafted desserts.
Decaf Brewed Coffee. Best to eat the dessert with coffee :) It's nice talking to Chef Celine because of her youthful and fresh aura in the culinary scene in Manila.
The food is a reflection of our first impression of her -- unpretentious, passionate, and fresh.
Overall, highly recommended for its well- executed concept with a carefully selected menu, wine pairings, and sweet endings. The ambiance is cozy, casually cool, with a San Fo resto vibe.
Most of the dishes served are wiped out clean, a testament to the consistent yumminess of the food.
You got to try this resto!
