Absolutely the best I have had in a long time. Very fresh and cooked perfectly. Wagyu waa tebfet amd juicy and veggues burst with flavor. Portion is good and prices are fair! We will be back!!
A cozy Japanese restaurant with friendly staff, Isogi is a great choice for lunch with good company. The spicy tuna maki is mouth watering and their rib eye teppanyaki is juicy and tender. The wagyu friend rice is a delicious side to accompany any of their mains. The only problem would be our food took a while to arrive despite the restaurant not being full.
I went here for late lunch because I had an appointment nearby. It’s a small spot within the plaza. I ordered the Salmon Skewers (3 sticks per order), Shrimp and Scallop Dynamite (loved the creaminess and hints of spice), Mushroom Brown Rice (loved this but it’s overpriced), and Lemonade with Ginger. I think I ordered for 2 people actually! I’ll come back to try the other dishes, and bring my friends! Only downside to my experience, the service wasn’t as good.
Great food....place, though small, is cozy, perfect for family bonding. First time to try the prawn & scallop dynamite, I ❤ it. My boys just loved everything they ordered😃
I am a big fan of Japanese food and was so happy to have found this gem tucked in San Antonio plaza! The place is rather small but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a seat. Good and quality food without the huge price tag!
one of my favorite jap resto. love the tuna tartare, fried brown rice, tempura.. uni sashimi and cucumber green tea. heaven! hope u open a branch in quezon city
Small yet relaxing ambiance with really good services. Clean, efficient and just about everything Japanese you may crave for. Their bentos, maki and yakitori are the standouts.
Ordered:
Salmon sashimi - the slices are thinner than expected (see pic) but its also cheaper than the normal 400-500 price range. Texture is there. Overall, decent.
Chicken yakitori - the chicken itself is delicious. Its tender! But the sauce was a bit too sweet for me.
Ebi tempura - good! Shrimp tastes fresh. Could be crispier.
Paid about 900 for party of 2! Very friendly staff. Will return for casual japanese food cravings!
I'm happy to discover that this Japanese restaurant is by the same owner as Kai in Greenbelt 5. It's menu is short and straightforward. If you're a group of 8, I suggest you order everything on it. Food is good but portions are scanty.
What we had:
Prawns and Scallop Dynamite - tasty stuff but there was too little of it! Good for half a person only.
Uni Pasta - noodles were perfectly al dente, the uni sauce was rich and creamy
Chawanmushi - could use more flavor
Eel and Avocado Roll - yum!
Rainbow Roll - yes!
16 Hour Braised Pork Belly - this tasted like something we cook at home. Very tender
and sweet, but again, so minuscule!!! Order one per person + rice.
Isogi Umami Wagyu Burger with Truffle Ketchup - didnt get to try but cousin looked satisfied with order. It came with corn tempura, sweet potato fries and shoestring potatoes
Wagyu Fried Rice with another additional order of pan seared foie gras - good
Green Tea Ice Cream with Adzuki + Mochi + Cornflakes - just okay
Overall, it was a delicious albeit very "small" dinner. I'm sure you'll have a great experience at Isogi. Just don't order the amaebi -- (P530 for 5 pieces of the tiniest shrimps I've ever seen)
I love their take on modern jap cuisine. I must say that this will be my new favorite jap place. We had their spicy tuna tartar with cucumber, prawn & scallop dynamite, australian ribeye steak and salmon skewers and we seriously LOVED everything we ordered especially the prawn & scallop dynamite and the salmon skewers. So so so good! I'm definitely coming back and I can't wait! Bringing Jan Fedrick Pablo RD here. He'll surely love this small but awesome restaurant. He's a big anything-salmon-dish fan too so I'm preparing to splurge on the salmon skewers. One order ain't enough.
Never been disappointed by the taste of food here, however portion sizes are on the small side. Ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll (which was so delicious), Ebi tempura and Australian rib eye teppanyaki (absolutely mouthwatering) with Japanese rice.. Desserts here are creative and super good. Overall great food, bit on the pricey side but worth the little splurge.
