Tinapa (smoked fish) rice, sisig, beef caldereta.
Tinapa rice was superrrrr good. My favorite out of the three dishes. They used margarine with the rice, reminds me of my childhood lol. The tinapa flavor goes really well with the margarined rice, and bonus points that they served it with yummy salted eggs. Not a boring rice dish at all. The sisig was pretty good too, but wished they have added more chilis in it and more of the sisig sauce, but still good nonetheless. Beef caldereta was my second favorite, loved the sauce, they made it the "authentic" way, not using tomato paste or tomato sauce but liver paste. Really, really good. The meat was perfectly tender too. They also gave us complimetary puto (Filipino steamed rice cakes: pandan, ube, corn, plain) served with crabfat margarine and sugared margarine; and my all-time childhood favorite Chocnut lol. Over all, pretty good restaurant, the service was excellent too, Filipino hospitality at its best, I really liked that the staff were using Old Tagalog language. Really enjoyed my experience here.
The service is consistently good in this branch. I like how they’re ready to recommend dishes when the group looks undecided. :P Winner orders for me are beef salpicao (hooray zomato gold) and pork binagoongan!
Awesome place for a Romantic Date ❤️, the ambiance is great and the crew are really accommodating. You'll love the way they speak deep Tagalog. We ordered both Beef Salpicao and Sisig Kapampangan. Both are amazing, the beef is so tender and the sisig seasoned very well, not too spicy and not too oily, just the right touch for both. You'll also love the free appetizers, Rice Cake with Butter and Aligue (Crab Fat) Spread. Will definitely dine in again soon!

Good food, good atmosphere to eat and have a chat with the family. Very Filipino! If you have colleagues and want to try the best of Filipino dishes, let them taste the flavours of X0 46! Savory.
Staffs are exquisitely hospitable. Food is great. They have a weekend promo of Buy 1 Take 1 for their dishes (except for rice, drinks and dessert). They’re also closed on holidays. Food serving is also okay, good for 2-3 persons. Crispy pata is tender and pork rind is crispy. Love their Ampalaya con Tinapa, it has lots of tinapa bits with creamy sauce. Calamares Cajiente (Crispy Baby Squid) was also cooked perfectly, comes in mayonnaise dip. Never thought that I can enjoy filipino food like this. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes.
Paborito kong dalhin ang mga bisitang banyaga dito. Masayang experience kahit para sa mga lokal, bukod sa talagang masarap ang mga pagkain.😊

First time I tried this was through food panda delivery in their SM Aura branch. And I was really satisfied with the taste and quality so I said I will try here by dining in, and since I live in Makati I decided to go to this branch - Salcedo. And again, it did not disappoint me. Their food is as consistent as when they have it for take out, or delivery. And a turn on for me really is food consistency and service. Good filipino food, try their beef salpicao and sisig. Really good!

We celebrated my lola’s 88th birthday here last may 2019. The place is good and the ambiance is classy. But the food is all salty except for the crispy pata! ( So delicious! ). I hope they will improve the taste. Kudos to the staff they’re so much in character for the filipino culture and they’re very attentive to your needs. Overall experience is okay.
Dined here last night with my Balikbayan relatives. I could say that they enjoyed the food very much because all the plates were wiped clean! The crispy pata was heavenly with little or no fat at all. The rest of the food that we ordered were all delicious: sinigang na salmon sa miso, pinaasim na tilapiang malutong, adobong baka sa bawang, inihaw na manok sa atchuete and pinakbet. The place is cozy and very conducive for quiet conversations. And they have a promo on Saturdays! What more could you ask for?
All the food I have tried in their menu are delicious and the staff are really nice. This is already my second time here and I enjoyed all those times I ate here. The ambience is great and their Filipino concept is awesome. You will appreciate better the Filipino language when you are here as the staff only speaks in the said language. It was also a nice experience knowing the Filipino/Tagalog of "allergy". You should visit this place to know it!
Also, they have complimentary puto as appetizer and complimentary (old-school) Chocnut as dessert. Two thumbs up for the people behind this restaurant. Love it!
Went there yesterday and it was tuesday! Having Some lunch with The rest of our Brokered team..
At first I was impressed with The Filipiniana uniform of The crews..
The atmosphere was like You are in an old Filipino Times Restaurant .. The language that crew are Spoken are Very tagalog in which Some of millenials couldnt understand.. 😂😂 kidding aside its a plus for me
For The food I LOVE IT.. Never expected To taste a rich flavors from The gata dishes til
The famous Crispy pata Oh My! Definitely Will Come back ..
Its a hidden Oasis at The Center of Salcedo! For Those WHO Love authentic filipino dishes ..
This place is surreal! Even for a friday night only ample people eat here but this is gold!
Its along valero which quite hard to find due to the unique set up of the building. When we went inside, the servers are very accommodating.
Speaking in deep tagalog, this is one of the best places to eat filipino food! I will surely bring my foreign friends and client in this place!
Natanga pa ako sa binawang na kanin. Garlic rice!
They even gave us a complimentary home made puto, mantikilya na matamis at mantikilya na may crab paste? I like the orange one better!
We ordered sisig and pusit sa dayap! Its very fulfilling and we are happy with the food! And of course! Making our stay more memorable and #TipidTips #TalkToEcho Zomato gold for 1+1 food! Ez right? Thanks again zomato gold for another opportunity to try out nre restaurants nearby! Hindi na "Kahit Saan" "Saan mo ba gusto?"
And Now level 4 na ako! 😁😁😁
Staff was really polite. We enjoyed our meal especially the tapas. A bit pricey but good food enjoyed with good people. Will be coming back for more :)
Very accomodating staff, all of the dishes we ordered were delicious. Honestly the best beef salpicao I have tasted so far. Definitely coming back to this restaurant.

This restaurant is amazing! The concept is great because it's very Filipino. The prices are reasonable and the ambience is great! I highly recommend this place for the food and service too! I wish there are plenty of restaurants like this.
XO 46 heritage bistro
The restaurant is small and looks tight, but the food servers wear traditional clothes and may converse with you in very traditional filipino language.
Food:
1. Gambas al ajillo - very tasty shrimp and i recommend.
2. Pritong pusit na malutong (very crispy fried squid) - taste and plating are very good. However, the skin tends not to stick to the squid but taste is very good.
3. Pancit pusit ng cavite (Cavite's squid ink glassnoodle) - tastes like squid, not a fan but very unique.
Desserts:
4. Malaube - leche flan with pure ube - not a fan also but the leche flan is good.
5. Cassava - good. I have tasted better option but this is good enough.
Overall it is a Filipino experience where you can bring your foreign and enjoy the traditional food. Food is very good! I would have loved to rate this as a 5 star but there are some minor comments above. Oh they also serve puto for free as appetizer and chocnut chocolate before leaving.
We had an amazing time at this place for its great food and service! The staff spoke only Filipino and it was entertaining to say the least! The food was all really good, and had pretty good portions for sharing.
To name a few, we ordered the crispy pata, tinapa rice, gising-gising, beef salpicao, calamares, sinigang na lechon kawali, sinigang na salmon sa mismo, sago't gulaman and more.
From the dishes, crispy pata and tinapa rice are the best sellers. I personally liked the sinigang(s) since they had the perfect blend for the soup in my opinion, and for the tapas, I found the beef salpicao very flavorful.
Note that for Zomato Gold, only the tapas are eligible.
Evrytime is a good time. Food is magical. Filipino food at its finest! Super delicious! For how many years, this is our go-to Filipino resto in Makati. I always recommend this one when friends from abroad looks for Filipino food. And the crew is the nicest.

Napaka ganda g mungkahi ang beef salpicao at sisig mula sa dalagang tagapagsilbi ng pagkain.. 😉
Authentic filipino dish and literally old school Filipino language. Amazing that there’s still a restaurant like this! Maraming salamat at nabusog mo kami.
Great Experience! ❤️
The staff are nice and super polite. The meals are super yummy. And the ambiance was really nice too.
I would definitely come back to try their other dishes.
Sisig ng Kapampangan is a must-try! Their Ube ng Panaginip is very delicious too. Definitely an authentic Filipino place to be tried by all.

Food was GREAT! You can feel the “filipino vibe” when you dine. Taste was excellent. Service was great! Will recommend this place to my family and friends
My family and I went there on a Sunday to have lunch. It was our first time visiting this branch as we have regularly been eating at their XO 46 branch in Century Mall. We must say even though this one’s smaller in space, the use of space makes this branch a lot better-looking. Plus this one is nearer to our place.
Initial thoughts upon viewing the menu is that the pricing may seem steep for most of the dishes. Without the Zomato Gold membership we would have ordered less.
We settled for the Sisig Kapampangan and got the Gambas Al Ajillo as the complementary. We added Adobong Pusit and an order of Mountain Rice. Everything tasted good, although for the price and quantity only the sisig is the most value for money item here.
Over-all we enjoyed our stay because of the courteous servers and “pakulo” like bugtong and complementary desserts.

One of my go to places near the office. This place serves reaaaaalllyy good garlic rice. Love their gambas and salpicao. The chicken binakol is also a good try. Another thing I love is the free puto they give to the diners.
Good food. Love all our food orders from appetizer to main course to dessert.
Suggest to revisit/review resto’s service quality
Rice served not hot
Coffee served too late
We love their food!!! It was worth every penny!!! Our personal favourites are: Ilocos Bagnet, Tinola with Misua, Beef Salpicao and Gambas. Because of GOLD membership, it’s as if we got a free viand! We will definitely be back to try out other dishes.
Seeing as this is just walking distance from our office and it is included in Zomato Gold, we decided to have lunch here.
Take note that the only things included in the 1+1 are the tapas and dessert. The rest fall under the "platters category" which isn't included.
We decided to just get Tapas and some rice. We got sisig, grilled chicken, and nilasing na hipon. All were good and had pretty traditional Filipino flavors. This is not the place for Filipino food, reinvented.
This is the type of place to take a foreign visitor to introduce them to Filipino cuisine.
Good food, huge servings. Ordered crispy pata, sugpo sa aligui: both tasted awesome and unlike most dishes in similar restaurantants. They don't honor Zomato Gold on Sundays, as I have been informed when I dined with a friend.
Easily one of my favourite restaurants in the country. (CONSISTENCY MAY VARY) I've been dining in this bistro for like four times already and I have recommended it to my friends to dine here at least once in their lifetime; the experience is unlike any other.
INTRO:
So far they have been the best in giving the most authentic Filipino dining experience. From the interiors of the place which sports a modern and semi-luxurious twist on the Filipino narra wood style, the uniforms of the staff - exhibiting the barong tagalog and the barot saya, the language of the staff - they speak Fluent hardcore Filipino (I even heard they undergo special training for it), the gimmicks which includes putting Filipino trivia or rhyme scroll bits, and of course, the food (presentation and taste-wise). If you're also looking for wine, XO46 is a bistro so they do have a decent selection of wines and other alcohol beverages.
FOOD:
I was given the menu at 7:25pm and by 7:27pm, they gave me a small plate of Filipino nuts (cornick) to ease my hunger while I choose around the booklet. I ordered two viands and two cups of rice at around 7:31pm, and I received their complimentary puto right away while I wait for my food. (DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THAT PUTO - it is so yummy. I even ask for another batch occasionally). I received the first dish (Fried Chicken Medalla) together with the 2 cups of rice at 7:47pm (16mins waiting time, impressive). 5 mins after, I received the next dish (Sinigang na Lechon Kawali). The food was as usual delightful and satisfying. The chicken was moist and the fried layer was crunchy but wasn't too thick and oily. It was rich in flavour thanks to its proper seasoning and I assume that there's butter in the mix so yeah. The Sinigang was my favourite. I find it awesome how they manage to have the Lechon Kawali maintain its crunchy characteristic despite it being in the hot broth. Speaking of heat, I wish that they would put some form of heater in the Sinigang serving plate, the broth had a bright tanginess to it but if they could find a way to maintain the dishes' temperature, it'll be perfect!
I like the way how they're also very particular about what temperature would you like your water to be - hot, warm, or cold. Though I wish they would rather leave me a pitcher of water instead of me having to call them out for another glass of it every now and then.
SERVICE:
The staff was warm and very knowledgeable about the menu so asking them for their recommendations may come in handy when you can't decide which is which. After visiting this place several times, I noticed that the warmth or cheerfulness of the staff may vary according to their day (they're human beings who get tired of their jobs so let's give them a break). Oh by the way, don't forget to ask them to take photos of you.
PRICE:
Well for me, it's reasonably high for the average yuppie. But for what it's worth, it's definitely a bang for your buck. You're not just paying for the food but for the overall experience. XO 46 Heritage Bistro went beyond the traditional casual restaurant service and sought ways how to make it more "Fun dining here." They give out this cute little scrolls which holds Filipino rhymes and facts - a perfect conversation starter. Plus, they give out complimentary Hany/Chocnut after asking for the bill. Hahaha. It took me way back to my childhood.
CONCLUSION:
XO 46 doesn't only gives its customers a well-rounded Filipino dining experience but it also strives to reminds us how fun it is to be Filipino. They made me fall in love all over again with our culture, our own rich heritage. Hence the name "XO", which means Xtra Ordinary.
Minor recommendations:
On my fifth visit here, I came here in as a walk-in guest and I noticed that the house was full and the staff was busy so I understand why no one was there to welcome me as I first entered the door that instance. The waitress noticed me and asked me how if I was with someone, (she forgot to greet me though but it's alright) I told her I would like a table for two. The staff together with the manager immediately tried to find a way to accommodate me despite the busy night. I stood by the door for 5 minutes before they managed to get me a free table. I would like to commend the staff for their sense of urgency - it matters a lot in the customer service aspect because it shows that they really value their guest. Though I highly recommend that the management would allocate a designated area for customers who are willing to wait. And just to add, please inform the staff to never forget to SMILE genuinely despite all odds - it elevates the overall warmness of the place (Filipino hospitality). Don't get me wrong, the staff were hardworking as ever but yeah, always display that "ngiting pang-artista."
Everything taste good here! It's a very nice and unique dining experience. They really promote Filipino culture especially because servers speak in Tagalog. Been here multiple times and i would always love to come back and recommend this place to those who are exploring Filipino food. They also give free puto, chocnut with a twist by giving a piece of paper with a bugtong :) Cool!

The whole restaurant is empty, maybe not yet dinner time. The restaurant has a little garden and at night, the light looks very romantic. Staffs are very friendly, he gives us the complimentary cake at the beginning, and then some candy when giving the bills. Food is excellent, must be one of the best Philippino food I have had in this country. Staffs wear traditional clothes as well, very pretty.

XO 46 Heritage Bistro is probably one of the finest Filipino restaurants that we have ever been to. Their take on classic Filipino cooking is outstanding; we have never tasted anything from their menu that was not likable. Each dish was on point in terms of taste and serving size. XO 46 Heritage Bistro did an admirable job in honoring timeless Pinoy food. And as if to further elevate Filipino pride, the servers speak to their customers in pure Tagalog.
We went here to try out some Filipino dishes and we totally enjoyed our time here! This is the sort of place you could proudly bring your foreign or balikbayan friends to. Upon arrival we were greeted in Filipino by staff doning Baro't Saya & Barong! It's Filipino Only Please zone since the waiters/waitresses would take your order in PURE FILIPINO! Haha! They even have a Filipino translation for "bill" and would gladly take your group photos and say "baliw-baliwan!" AKA Wacky post! 🤣 Couldn't't remember all our specific orders but I remember really enjoying their food, to the point that I forgot to take photos before eating.
Sugpo sa aligue is the best! Sauce plang ulam na! Magagalang at consistent sila magtagalog pati background music pinoy na pinoy hahaha. Love your own tlaga. Babalik ako dito for sure!
It's very Filipino, even the server speaks Tagalog fluently. That "Pumili po kayo sa talaan ng mga pagkain." and the "Kukunin ninyo na po ba ang listahan ng bayarin?".
The place smells nice and clean. The background music, kundiman is great. So soothing. Price is cheap and so near in our office. Although the taste of the Adobo and Kare-kare are very western but it's really deli. T'was a great experience. My team likes the food and everything.
Huge Servings!!!
The staff were very attentive and pleasant 👍🏼
They speak pure tagalog. It was a bit awkward though, as if we're required to speak pure tagalog as well😂
Service-5/5

Ambiance-5/5
the ambiance is good. it has a warm white lighting which make the place a cozy atmosphere. very classy but the food prices are not too expensive. the staff are polite. they greeted us in fluent tagalog which is amusing to our foreign guests. i loved how the food was presented and the taste is very satisfying. i recommend you to order seafood aligue.
This branch is better than the other branches.
Order staple dishes like binagoongan baboy, gising gising which are really good. Need to improve service.
If you have visiting relatives from abroad or your foreigner colleagues, invite them over XO Bistro. They offer delicious Filipino cuisines with a twist. Must try dishes - pinakbet, kinunot na isda, okoy and kare-kare. Filipino-speaking wait staff an added attraction.
Good food, excellent service. They speak Tagalog to Filipino customers: when paying for the bill, give them your "tarhetang pangkaltas" or your credit card. 😉
We had a delightful experience in XO46 because of the sumptuous dishes they have served us. Each dish we ordered did not disappoint. I appreciate the Filipiniana Trademarks and themes, as well as showcasing our Spanish Heritage thru the clothing and greetings of the servers. The place has cozy, relaxing ambiance. Food servers were friendly and courteous. Even their washrooms showcase Filipino and Spanish Heritage. Giving one a nice nostalgic feel. A quick escape from daily rush of worklife.
The Binagoongan sa Gata was really really good! The meat was so soft and tasty it kind of like melts in your mouth. Partnered with Aligue Rice, meal made by the Gods!
The Beef Steak was too sweet for my taste though. Since the servings were good for about 2-3 persons we had to bring the rest of the food home. I had to reheat the Beef Steak and add some soy sauce just to reduce the sweetness.
We enjoyed the assorted puto flavors with butter and the intriguing aligue butter.
I gave a 4.0 rating even if the Beef Steak and I did not hit it off because well first I understand that some recipes have different interpretation and it just so happened that their interpretation of Beef Steak did not match my childhood memory of home cooked Beef Steak. Also, the "gata" was so good we left with smile in our faces and excitement for the next meal because we can still get to eat the "gata". The price was a little high for a simple employee such as myself, as in I think I will come back here somewhere in the future. But I think it is super worth it because the food and serving was really good! Maybe next time I should dine with friends or at least 3 people so we can split the bill and get to try more food.
A place to eat filipino food in Makati, yummy and not too expensive but the ambiance is very nice. Staffs are too nice as well, it's amazing how the staffs can speak purong tagalog all through out your stay here, nakakatuwa ang lalalim ng tagalog 😊😊😊 I liked their food especially the Laing, they also serve complimentary puto with trivia 😉
Servings are big, good for 3 to 4 persons. Good place to eat with your expat bosses.

"Bili isa kuha isa" on weekends! Can't beat that!
It's a cheaper version of the LJC group of restos. The food is okay, and the place is also nice. They call everyone "senorito" and "senorita".
Filipino remains to be the top choice when am dining out. Maybe because I'm so used to it? It could also be my way of remembering how my mom used to cook. XO's classic and novel combinations of cooking Filipino does remind me of home and am glad they have one in Makati.
The star for lunch was their version of Pinoy Chicken Curry. It was delightful both on taste and how it was presented. This rich coconut curry came with little plates of bacon, raisins, eggs and dices of onions.
I always try to veer away from fatty dishes. XO's Lechon Sisig lured me and I honestly enjoyed it too much. The signature taste of celebrated lechon was vividly alive. It also had a balance of soft and crispy textures.
For some healthier option, we got another coconut based dish, Gising Gising. It could've been better spicier though. More siling labuyo next time?
The only sad part of this sit down lunch was that I ate more rice than I should. How can one say no to carbs when the dishes are too good?
The best Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten at with excellent service to match. Crispy pork binagoongan, Bicol express, and sugpo sa aligue are must tries.
XO Heritage Bistro Filipino is located in Salcedo Village, Makati City. The exact address is: 130 Valero Street., Valero, Makati, Metro Manila, just walking distance from RCBC Plaza. The restaurant isn’t immediately noticeable if you just happen to be walking by the street, since it’s mixed with the offices in the area. It’s different at night, though, when the restaurant’s entrance facade and signage is lit up.
Their ginisang monggo with tinapa is one of the best. A little bit salty but just fine because it compliments well the taste of monggo. Sinigang na salmon is also good. Generous servings good up to 4-5 people.
For the 7th time(Capitol Commons Branch) Good food n good price! Big servings, better than mannhann in terms of serving to price ratio hehe. Entertaining waiters, "Inumin na nakakadighay at Coke Bokya" Hehehe. Go for the Inihaw na liempo, Pancit, Chicken ang yung Rice platter :). With free Dessert and puto ☑
This is it! The Filipino restaurant I've been looking for! The ambiance is really drop dead gorgeous. The staff are nice and super polite. One advice though: pack your deep Filipino words! Amazing how everything they say is really in our native language. Also, the meals are super yummy. Will come back again and again!
As a visitor i wanted to try authentic Philippino food so my search guided me to this restaurant located in the elegant makati area.
The restaurant is more of a hidden gem with a cosy interior and dim lights. The waiters are very professional and always wearing gloves while serving you.
We had the
-sinigang (more of a soup)
- peso de kalabaw (similar to mozzarella
sticks)
- halo halo (famous philipino desert make of milk and several ingredients )
The restaurant offers few starters to welcome you such as colorful rice cakes known as "puto"
The service is quite fast and the food was delicious. Recommended for people who want to try philipino food in a modern and clean place

Probably the best Filipino restaurant I've eaten at so far. Hands down amazing.
The restaurant design is wonderful, from the garden outside, to the beautiful two-seater tables, and the servers' attire.
The food is magical. We had laing (super recommend!! No laing will ever compare, promise!!!) which was very smooth and luscious. The best.
The gising-gising is refreshing and not overwhelming in terms of coconut taste. Seriously, if you can't stand vegetables you should eat here because the veggie dishes are so good!
Chicken curry is good as well, though I admit it paled in comparison to laing and gising-gising.
There was a lechon dish, with cashews, garlic cloves and olives. This I found amazingly good, despite the rather unique mix of ingredients. Who would've thought I'd be eating lechon and cashews together and that it would taste amazing?
The corned beef bulalo is good! The beef cuts are plentiful, there's bone marrow, and lots of veggies and a chunk of corn on the cob. I think the hefty price tag fits alright given all this.
There was also tilapia with toge and some greens--can't recall the name but it tasted delightful and was good to cleanse the palate.
Speaking of palate cleansers, do order the dalandan mint shake. Refreshing and it'll give you room for more food. A+!
The part I liked best in XO is the attention to detail--servers talk to you in straight Filipino, right down to getting your credit card and taking your photo. They're very warm and funny as well! I also liked the cucumber water, the cornik as appetizer and choc but as complimentary dessert.
4.5 until I get to try their other dishes. All hits and no misses so far so my hopes are up!!!!
Hope they have a branch here in QC soon!!
P.s. No photos since the team decided to really interact, hehe.
Orders:
Hilaw na Manggang Kinalog (Green Mango Shake)
Sugpo sa Aligue
Kare-Kareng Dagat
Carabao Cheese Fritters
If you're planning to fill your stomach with Filipino cuisine and you happen to be near Salcedo Village, Makati, then XO 46 Heritage Bistro is the one for you.
The dishes we ordered are very good especially the Sugpo sa Aligue! The complimentary puto + chichacorn for appetizer and the complimentary Choc-Nut for dessert are just a bonus to our Sunday dinner.
P.S. The vibe here is awesome - the servers speak pure Tagalog (Isa, Dalawa, Tatlo! Kesong Ngiti!) and they make sure your glass of water is always filled.
Love Love love their food!!! Hate the fact that I would have to eat rice too, and it makes me break my no rice vow. I always come back here with friends since the food is always for sharing!
Superb Food. Comfortable Ambiance. Good Service. Been to 3 of their branches already and the food quality is consistent. Servers are very attentive, and greets you in tagalog. Brings you back your roots. Crispy Kare Kare is a must! And the spicy squid. 👍👍👍
This restaurant offers the most delectable Filipino cuisines. With their very accommodating staffs and amazing interiors, I'd say this is surely one of the resto's you will be proud to bring your foreigner colleague or friend. I'm not a fan of Chicken Curry because of the strong spices but when I tasted their Halang Halang, their own version of Chicken Curry, I couldn't stop eating. It was so amazingly good and appetizing. I also love their Lechon Kawali and the all time Filipino Favorite Crispy Pata. If you want the best of the Filipino dishes served in a very delectable way, you must try this resto.
The restaurant looks great on the outside but it's even better in the inside :) the food was excellent, reasonably priced and the service was great too!
Hope we can be back soon!
Have been wanting to go to this bookmarked resto for awhile. Got the chance this Friday evening.
As soon as you enter this place, it seems you step into traditional old style Filipino hospitality at its best. Down to the staff speaking Tagalog as its spoken in the heartland of Quezon, my friends have me believe.
We were given complimentary puto with butter spread. We had a really good cheese and laing bruschetta which is the most unique Filipino dish I've had for a long time. Hope somebody tells me the name of the dish from the picture I post.
We then had Salpicao and Laing with plain rice. Salpicao was very tasty but some pieces of beef were chewy. Laing was very good, not spicy at all, with delicious toasted notes added by toasted garlic flakes
Ended with Mango con Broas Mabuhay - a nice flaky mango dessert.
I've heard pretty good things about this resto and was excited to try their food. I arrived earlier than my friends and was shocked that the servers spoke purely Filipino. This tidbit completely slipped my mind. I had a few good laughs (by myself) as the lady spoke really fast and I didn't understand a thing. I had to ask her to repeat everything but slower. 😂
Their use of the Filipino language, with a mix of interesting words and ways to explain things, will surely keep you amused for your entire visit.
We had the Kare Kareng Crispy Tadyang and Dinakdakan. It's not very often I find a Filipino restautant that's really good. I was happy that this lived up to all the things I've heard about it. The Crispy Tadyang was nicely cooked, tender inside and crispy outside. It was also a very good thing they served the kare kare sauce on the side to keep the tadyang crispy. You also get to control how much sauce you want.
I don't have a point of comparison for Dinakdakan but I enjoyed this one. I did pick out the onions since there was a lot in the dish. After trying this, I now know that I should order dinakdakan when I have the chance to.
For dessert, we had the Champorado Eh. We were pretty full but this just sounded interesting. It was named champorado but it looked like a brownie. It wasn't too sweet and at least it wasn't bitter either. It wasn't very memorable but it did go well with the ice cream.

Whenever I miss home, I always go to this place and necer failed to make me feel like I'm at home. Must try is the Crispy Pork Binagoongan as well as the Laing. Yummy!
It has been over 6 months since I last visited XO46. I used to go there quite often with Janina but have not had the opportunity to do so this year. Yesterday, I reached a milestone at work and to celebrate, I treated FM to dinner at XO46.
Imagine my surprise when I got there and saw that they have expanded and they now have a New Visayan Room. Gone is Haiku which used to the a Japanese restaurant beside them. Now, it is the Visayang Room where everything on the menu is different from XO46: Filipino Heritage.
I found the ambiance of the place soothing. It was very classy and comfy. I really, really liked it. I also loved the uniform of the servers and the free appetizers.
We ordered the lechon sisig because I could not stop yakking about it and I really wanted FM to try it. We also ordered the binagoongan rice and boy were they not kidding about the portions. FM also got the sago't gulaman and though overall he liked the taste, he was not too happy about the sago.
Bagoong Rice Php190 good for 3-4 persons
Lechon Sisig good for 2-3 persons Php330
Sago't Gulaman Php95
The bagoong rice was authentic bagoong combined with the rice. Other bagoong rice I've tried probably placed a spoonful only but this one from XO46, you could taste it everywhere. They really poured it in, but in a good way.
The lechon sisig was still as good as I remembered. It was crunchy, tasty, and deadly. Haha.
Overall, it was a great spontaneous date night for FM and I. We had fun, we celebrated my milestone, and we spent time together.
I first learned of this place when I passed by it on my way home. I was attracted to the exterior. When I did decide to eat there, I was blown away. The staff talks to you in pure Filipino (I learned new words because of that), but what really blew me away was the food. If you’ve never seen Filipino food served so elegantly, you should drop by this place. My relatives who aren’t very interested in Filipino food loved the food served here (special shout out to the binagoongan). I really recommend trying this place out. It might seem a bit pricey to some but its worth it.
XO 46 Heritage Bistro is probably one of the most classic Filipino restaurant's I have had the pleasure of dining at. The handful of times I have been at the Salcedo branch have left me constantly looking forward to the next time, with my most recent trip there was a few weeks ago.
Design-wise, the establishment feels larger than it actually appears to be from the outside. The interior is classy with a cultural feel. It is over-all quite cozy.
Service-wise, the staff are so well trained that it amazes me. From the start to end of your meal, our server was constantly smiling, very enthusiastic and very attentive to all our needs.
Food-wise, we were a group of six and most of the dishes are good for sharing. While munching on our complimentary Puto, we ordered the following:
Ensaladang Bagnet at hilaw na Mangga (P335)
A lovely starter for our meal. The salad vinaigrette was light and went very well with the fresh greens and mango.
Laing (P295)
A great choice from the menu as it is one of the best versions of Laing I have ever had. For those expecting a fiery kick, this one is not that spicy actually.
Bicol Express (P295)
Another tasty dish that is worth every peso! I have never actually had authentic Bicol express yet, but I imagine it would be on the same level as this one.
Escabecheng Tilapia (P295)
A perfectly cooked fish that went so well with the fresh greens and bean sprouts piled on top of it. I am not really a grilled-fish kind of girl, but the combination of sweet and sour flavors of this dish was so surprisingly good!
Kare Kareng Cripsy Tadyang (P550)
We could not resist in indulging in a crispy pork dish. The presentation was simply mouth-watering and the meat itself, even more so! The kare-kare with bagoong and vegetables, ugh - so delicious. I definitely recommend it.
*Note: In my photos, we had one more dish but I cannot seem to recall which one it was - perhaps I forgot to try it.
Mango Dessert
Also forgot the name of this one, but we got three orders of a mango cake which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was not too sweet and had a nice crunch to it. A perfect way to end our meal.
Over-all, I am giving this establishment a 4.5 for the sum of my dining experiences here. The food is quality, value for money and simply traditional Filipino comfort food. I look forward to trying more of their dishes in the future.
ASM recommends: tahong with chorizo bits, gising gising, crispy binagoongan, sisig kapampangan, malaubeng panaginip and cassava cake. Awesome service and experience as always
Exceptional food and awesome interiors! Average in terms of pricing but servings were small. In terms of service, it took them awhile to serve the food but it was definitely worth the wait! If youre looking for an authentic Filipino restaurant, I recommend this for you to try.
The food was delicious. Exceptional Filipino cuisine, not to mention the sisig. Though I was disappointed with the service. It really took them a long time to serve all of our orders and took them a longer time to give us our bill.
We entered XO Heritage Bistro lookinh for something sweet. Husband was craving for Halohalo so we ordered that and also an ice cream (mantikilya flavor). Husband is very particular about the ice and the consistency of ice in their halohalo was not good. There were a lot of big chunks and not creamy. The icecream tastes good and was presented well.
Went here for Friday lunch upon recommendation of my sister. We tried Adobong Baka sa Bawang and their Sisig Kapampangan. Their adobo was absolutely delicious, while their sisig was so-so (served a bit cold, chicharon topping tasted oily).
I've read good reviews about XO's other dishes and will be back to try more. :)
Their Filipino brand of service is also one-of-a-kind. They greet you Senor or Senorita and converse entirely in Tagalog (unless you're a foreigner). Their bugtong (riddle) is also a nice touch.
Overall, I would recommend XO when you want to introduce Filipino cuisine to foreign business partners.
Its truly a jewel that needs to be found. Its located in the busy streets of valero but you can't hardly notice it.
The food was really great! Unique dining experience since all the waiters / waitress communicates through pure tagalog language.. really deep. :) very cozy place good food good job!
From the time you enter their gated property until you leave, you will experience a whole new level of a Filipino service. To be more specific, the staff here are apparently trained to say everything and anything in Filipino! I do not know up to what extent these words are vocabulary correct (like Pinakalog na Mangga) but definitely it’s an entertaining experience. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a good real Filipino food and none of those fusion stuff. Great place to impress the foreign guests too. My personal favorite: Tinapa Rice
I was able to try XO when a boss from Europe came to Manila and we only had time for just a quick lunch meeting. We decided to take him here to this very unique Filipino restaurant. Ambiance and interior is nice, looks very elegant and luxurious. Food was not that memorable, I feel like I'm just eating at a regular Filipino restaurant with fancy interiors. However whats unforgettable is the service they gave to us. Really friendly pure tagalog servers they have here. Attentive to the needs of the guest. Of course if the European was asking them something, they answer in English. But when its us Filipinos, they answer in a very tagalog answer.
This by far is one of my favorite Filipino Restos! All the staff the well dressed, with the traditional Filipino costume, even how they address and speak with their diners, they can speak fluently. It is definitely a wonderful dining experience, a great place to bring your foreign friends. Food: sinigang na salmon! sakto sa asim!
Points for the all-Filipino theme, from the place settings to the staff spiels. The complimentary puto/chichacorn, bugtong (riddle), and Choc-nut also add to the overall experience.
But let's talk about food. The best dishes I've tried include Binagoongan sa Gata, Bicol Express, and Ginisang Monggo at Tinapa. Dishes that are also worth mentioning include Kare-Kareng Crispy Tadyang and Bangus Salpicao. Underwhelming dishes include Sinigang na Lechon Kawali and the Molo Soup.
The dishes are a bit pricey but it could be worth it if you pick correctly.
Other observations: Serving time is reasonable but can be inconsistent. Some seats are also not comfortable. The restaurant usually caters to big groups so solo/couple diners might need to wait for seating availability.
Food: Carabao Cheese, Sugpo sa Aligue, Callos and Champorado Eh. The Carabao cheese and Sugpo sa Aligue were really good and I would not hesitate to recommend them. The Callos, on the other hand, was a different matter. It did not taste like any Callos I have ever had, and believe me, I have tried lots. The taste did not even come close to what, I understand, Callos should taste like. Imagine cooking up a home-made pork & beans only with lots (lots!) of garbanzos, huge chunks of chorizo bilbao, and thyme. Yes, thyme. The pork was a bit dry, too. Maybe it should be called a different name but don't misunderstand me, it didn't taste terrible, it simply didn't taste like Callos. Let's move on to dessert: Champorado Eh! Tasted like a cross between suman and champorado, Champorado Eh was served with a scoop of yummy vanilla ice cream and is perfect for sharing between 2 people. It certainly made up for the Callos.
Price: Expensive.
Would I return? Undecided.
Excellent filipino food tucked in a small corner in the middle of Makati. Although the food was very good, It was served lukewarm. The service was good, we didnt have to ask for service water, they served it upon seating and getting their attention wasn't a challenge. I think of this as a more affordable version of Fely J's with the food in direct proportion to the price as well.
By far my favorite Filipino restaurant in Manila. Only here can you find the Old Filipino style restaurant. You are addressed as señorita or señorito, and the staff will speak to you in full old Tagalog, and even courtesy as they thank you. Love the service and the food! Food recommendations are: rellenong talong, dumaguete express, lechon kawali. Only downside is there are a lot of mosquitos even in the enclosed part of the resto.
If you want a legit Filipino cuisine experience, this is one of the best Filipino restaurants to go. The ambiance was calming and local. Servers are also trained to speak in Filipino. In terms of food, the dishes are very filling. I loved the Lechon Sisig (it's a bit spicy), the Gambas Y Chorizo is also good and the Chicken Inasal Skewers is also a must try. Price for 2 is about 600 per person.
Spent Christmas here with family. The ambience was great and so were the servers. We ordered a lot and everything was great. Worth every centavo! For the drink, I was torn between their Kalamamsi juice and sago't gulaman. Both were great! Visiting this restaurant again soon!
Eating at XO 46 is more than just a meal, it's also an experience.
It gives you that authentic Filipino restaurant feel with waiters who speaks straight Tagalog.
I love their "puto" or rice cake appetizer with a "bugtong" or riddle that come with it.
The food is purely Filipino with a little twist unlike the new Filipino fusion restaurants that fails to capture the local taste and experience.
The waiters are respectful and attentive despite the restaurant being full due to the lunch hour rush.
XO bistro filipino serves up some of the best in Filipino cuisine. The price may be a bit steep that we ordered around four viands with dessert and coffee, it cost us almost 600 each. Although every single thing we ordered from the escabeche, gising gising, dinakdakan and their inihaw na liempo is like an explosion of flavors.
They even have appetizers of puto and cornik while waiting for your entrees that you order. The puto can be served with two types of butter ( sweet/aligue). Also another interesting mix is the sapin sapin with ice cream and some mompo wine.
I would say if there are balik bayans or even without I would definitely go back. My only concerns are highlights of wifi which when I asked them they don't have and looking for it along Valero st. which my usual landmakr is infront of the Philamlife tower bldg.
