Vietnam in the Heart of Davao We missed dropping by their stall in SM Lanang Weekend Market so we finally decided to visit the restaurant. I went here together with my work mates and we had Banh Mi, Ca phe sua da (Iced Coffee), Banh Trang Nuong (Pizza), and Pho (which was not on the menu yet.) The Banh Mi was definitely filling, not overwhelming nor underwhelming. Compared to the ones I tried in Rau Ram in Bacolod and Bon Banhmi in Glorietta, I think Viet Cafe offers a good price point. While Sheila told me that putting Sriracha sauce overwhelms the delicateness of the flavors - hey, I am going to enjoy my Banh Mi the way I like it. :) The iced coffee here is the bomb. I am NOT a coffee drinker (thanks headache) but this one makes me want to rethink. I wondered why people keeps on coming back until I tasted it. I emptied a serving before the meal was served - tastes more "coffee" than the ones offered in Korean restaurants. It is sweet but won't make you guilty. Ditch that Starbucks. Vietnamese Pizza - this one was prepared over a rice paper. It reminds me of an omelette. My expectations were similar to a traditional pizza - dough, cheese, and tomato sauce. This one is different. I might get another one, roll it like lumpia and eat it like a king. Pho - this one was mentioned before ordering since it wasn't listed in the menu yet. I did not get to try it. Monroe (a picky eater) said the the broth was good and the serving is hearty. I'll probably order it the second time around. The restaurant is open from 2:00pm to 10:00pm M-Sat. Alight between McDonalds Bajada and Victoria Plaza - walk three blocks and turn right. There are cabs and trikes available. Delivery options soon?

I love how rustic this place is. The staff are all friendly and very accommodating. The food? The food will take you to the streets of Ho chi minh in an instant. Love the PHO.
