Dined here since I was a kid especially on special occassions and their food is very delightful! A must try when you are in Cebu. #chinese 👏
One of the oldest Chinese restaurants you can find in Cebu where it has never faded through time!😊 It has been here serving small & big occassions with different set menus to choose from, ranging from 2k up to 10k per 12 persons & their food is truly Chinese from soups, starters down to their main course. I have tried having birthday celebrations with my kids & so far everybody is happy.. Hehe!😁 You can also visit there & have lunch or dinner in their restaurant on the 2nd floor.
New White Gold House Restaurant is one of the oldest Chinese restaurant in the Queen City of the South, operating for more than 50 years. New White Gold House brings you to Shanghai, China with its classic and sophisticated facade. Its interiors give you a feeling of being at the streets of Shanghai with the red and gold motif and intricate carvings and paintings.
If not for their location, I could say that they give the best Chinese restaurants in the city a run for its money. White Gold serves one of the most authentic Chinese meals in Cebu. It is popular for tourists as well as to the local Filipino-Chinese community. I enjoy the dim sum offerings here . If you love Chinese food, give them a try!
An amazing experience indeed. Their ambience that makes you feel like you're in a different country or unfamiliar place. Focusing on the food it was really delicious. Making me want more or it makes you say "I want to eat like this everyday" kind of feel. It's a really great place to celebrate a birthday or other special occasions with the one you love the most. It's a must try! :D
Lasting impressions: The feeling to be brought somewhere else yet feel home with the familiar(but not ordinary) Fil-Chi taste, just wonderful.
The intricate design of the place will bring you back to the old. Compelling. (more comments on the venue below)
And the food? A lot of which you wouldn't find in any other Chinese restos in Cebu.
Here are a few of the food that we would recommend:
1. Beef Surprise and Tong Po (Pork) -honestly surprised with the tenderness and consistency of the flavors. It's familiar but notable taste
2. Four Seasons Soup- This isn't a chemistry project but a chinese delicacy unique to the resto. Four kinds of soup in a bowl. Can't explain how wonderful it is to the eyes and to the mouth! It's a must try really.
3. Lotus Leaf Fried Rice- Who doesn't love rice? This one just got a little surprising exquisite flavor. Chinese distinct taste but you surely would love it.
4. Buchi- Seeing how huge that Buchi is, you wouldn't think you'd finish one, but try one, you will be surprised how many you can consume. There's something about it's taste, and the peanut on the inside! Not a typical Buchi.
5. Chicken Herb Soup- One thing that amazed me. It has the feels of a curry yet the soup is not viscous and you can taste every herb in every sip. Plus, the chicken is so tender, we have no idea how it was cooked. Yum. That was just the appetizer.
While those were the highlights, there's a lot more food to try out. Not just try out but also delve in, satisfy yourself.
While it's true that the resto would make you feel like you are in the old(medieval) China, the equipments and amenities are also a bit old ie. the chairs, tables, aircons. An area that might be improved to heighten comfortability. And more lights in the hallway to the entrance.
Anyway, the intricate designs are indeed not fancy but truly intricate. A few are designed by Kenneth Cobunpue.
That was just the tip of the iceberg of our experience in the New White Gold Restaurant. See it for yourself and share to us your experience in the comments or by adding your own review.

It may seem old on the outside, but the inside imterior of the place would truly give you a feel as if you are dining in China. This plave is perfect for large gatherings as it is really spacious.
Their servings are always good and would surely fill you. Since we went here for a family reunion, we decided to try out their Peking Duck and it did not disappoint. I also loved their soups since it was really savory.
Despite the rise of new Chinese restaurants in the metro, the New Whiten House remains one of the most trusted names when it comes to great-tasting Chinese dishes.
Although the interiors of the restaurant are a bit dated, you will still see the elegance and grandeur of its cavernous halls.
I love their all time faves like noodles, stirred-fried vegetables, and dimsum choices.
Their parking needs a bit of improvement, tho.
