The best banh mi I've ever tried in my life. The bread used -- baked by Kayu!
Better than I've tasted in Vietnam!
Every food that you order gives you a surprise and would utter "wow! amazingly good" . . . one of the best restaurants in Cebu. If you are visiting Cebu . . . Kayu is a must-try place for epicurean experience . . . main course to dessert . . . the best!
Each dish that I tried in Kayu was superb. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, even their cocktails! I tried the drink Izzy, and it did not disappoint. Great ambiance which brings me back to Napa valley. Super love this place and I highly recommend it to anyone who comes to Cebu!!!
neatly hidden in 32 sanson road is this restaurant. can't think of enough superlatives to describe this place.. ambience, design, set up, food, menu, service, music was 101% perfect. perhaps the only thing i would negatively comment about is their serving sizes. it was small for the price but everything else in the restaurant more than makes up for it.
Me & my guy had our anniv at Kayu! Its a very fine resto, accommodating staff and cheers to your delicious food! Hope 2 go back soon. 😍😍😍😍
We went to Kayu to celebrate father's day last June...and Kauy did not disappoint us..our man in the house enjoyed his glazed salmon and Kayu's signature cocktail...while i had my shrimp pasta and our kiddo had a shortrib...while the 3 of us shared the serving of kayu skillet...price is above average..but what matters was a night full of good food and fun conversations with people you love..Kayu is always worth a visit.
I have always eyed this place due to it's beautiful interior and location. It's so serene. You would forget that you're right in the middle of the city.
I had their Fish Taco - cooked thin and crispy in perfection. The spicy glazed tuna was too sweet for me though. Tuna was raw so I expected it to have this refreshing citrus sour taste, like a tartare.
For entree, I ordered their Charred Octopus. The meat was cooked well done, the amazing part is it wasn't rubbery at all. Hands down to that! It had bits of grilled pomelo which really went well with the octopus and promesco sauce. It was laid on a bed of squash risotto, which is pretty much the downfall of the dish. Risotto was overcooked and a bit too buttery for me. The fat from the butter lingered on my palate. But, besides that, what a perfect dish. For dessert, I had the Sizzling Caramel Bar and Chocolate Fix. For the caramel dessert, the bar was too dry and crumbly. It was a bit of a struggle getting a bite size with your spoon. Caramel sauce was lovely and smooth. The best part of this dessert. Chocolate Fix was a treat. It was a beautiful plate. That brushed chocolate sauce and crumbs with a vanilla liqeur sorbet. Perfection! Be careful ordering this when sharing with kids, only bec of its alcohol.
Truly a gastrogasmic brunching experience I've had! Kudos to Chef Izzy and the rest of the amazing crew for such an impeccable service! 😊❤️
Kayu has all the important factors in choosing a restaurant: comfortable ambience, good service, and quality of food. You have an atmosphere that encourages conversation with good lighting so you can see the delicious dish you're enjoying! My favorite is the glazed salmon and I can eat it every single day! Kayu is definitely the best restaurant in Cebu!
Great customer service...though we went there on fathers day, food attendants were quick and courteous...we had d glazed salmon,it was superb..d charred octupos i feel like it needed somethng else to be more tasty (perhaps a lil sourness would do..hehe) d creamy shrimp pasta is also heavenly..and d short rib is such a comfort. For the 3 of us,we spent 3500...a lil expensive.but worth the price.
Its been a while. This is my first write up after a year and a half since my last review. I had tasted lots of different food places but none of them gave me the urge to make a review again, up until now.
KAYU! This place gives you a taste of heaven. The food, the place and the staffs were all superb!
The place was cozy, romantic, and expensive looking. Like I would really bring my partner on my next visit. 5 stars for the food presentation as well. I can say that every dish they serve was really made with passion and dedication. It’s like being a taster in a cooking show. The taste of the food tickles and plays with your palettes. Everyone was kind and warm. They made sure that we got what we paid for. They made sure that we enjoyed our meal and was satisfied with it. All in all, I really recommend the place. It is worth every penny. Sobra ka lami!
Went to Kayu with friends. It felt prestige back then. The place was good. Food was great. I believe they are just two pager? Or three pager
Took us a while to actually locate the main door. Hahahahaha minus 0.5 for that. This great restaurant is located at 32 Sanson Road, Lahug. If youve been to Marisse Patisserie before, it wouldnt be a problem locating Kayu. It is a perfect place if you want to dine with a loved one or colleague at peace. Service was surprisingly fast and good despite all the other reviews I read and food was a bit expensive but definitely worth the price. Their glazed salmon tasted so great, you must try it out! They actually serve a lunch set, if youre in for a complete course. Worth every penny, paying just P450, complete from appetizers to dessert. Overall, our dining experience was an awesome and pleasant one.❤️ (sorry for the pics, my boyfriend and i do not know how to take instagram-worthy pics, like at all😂)
