As your wall says, your ramen made me smile and happy.
I'm not usually in the area and I decided to come with a friend to try out your ramen.
It was a great experience. We had our ramen split between us. Ramen has always been pricey so I couldn't complain. That's just how it is with premium ingredients. We got an extra serving of noodles which was really good. I had a beer with your black garlic ramen and it was a good match. We ordered a fried chicken side and it was a good compliment to our meal.
Service is excellent. Japanese greetings are expected in a Japanese restaurant. Everyone was so helpful and courteous. Your menu is focused on ramen and nothing more which I think is a great charm for a truly ramen restaurant.
Overall, I will definitely return but not too soon. Ramen's a guilty pleasure and I don't want to overindulge.
Glad we found this restau after our intense games during PNG2018 badminton games. Food is absolutely two thumbs up plus the energy of the working people, charming and friendly. Highly appreciated and commendable. Keep it up!
I'm a regular at Barikata. I love the ramen and fried rice. I usually get the Aka Tonkotsu.
Loved the food here. The broth was so thick and flavorful and the wasabi mayo together with the chicken karaage was so delicious.
Benchmark Ramen for me! I've always been a fan of Tonkotsu Ramen, and Barikata makes them real good!!
Sarap. Sarap. Sarap. Busog. Babalikan. Paulit. Ulit.
Our favorite ramen house. Can't count anymore how many times we've visited. Our favorites are the Aka Tonkutso, Bota Kimuchi, and Gyouza.
白湯超讚!
除了在日本以外的國家吃過最好吃的拉麵!
The best ramen in Cebu. I will definitely go back and get more ramen!
Shoud be put as #1 Ramen house/bar in Cebu. (Googleor TripAdvisor)
Please do come to Davao.
I liked the Halo-Halo Ramen
This got me hooked to ramen! Now I crave for it all the time...
It was really my first time eating at this restau. When we dined, there wasn't so much people so eventhough the place was small we had ample seating and I would not need to worry our elbows might get hurt from passing diners. I love the ambiance, although, it was a little messy, I can still feel the japanese-y vibe in it. I love that they have an open kitchen, it gives me an idea on how my food was prepared and an idea for future business/ running a kitchen preferrences. Also, their attendants were very attentive 😅. Finally, for the food it was affordable for me. Like what I mentioned on my previous reviews for other restaus, quality and quantity should come together for me to judge it as affordable and in this restau it went together! Swak na swak! Large serving for a price that makes you busooog. I ordered a black mesozoba, though I don't know what it was I just felt I needed something different. I was told it did not have soup, which made me even more curious. And when it arrived it really did not have soup but it had a free one with it 😅 But what surprised me were the noodles, they're like thick and bigger than ramen noodles. It was a hefty serving and it tasted so good. I was full and grateful. Highly recommended
I had Kuro Mazesoba Black delivered. I didn’t know what it was and couldn’t understand well the instructions on the online menu on how to it eat. It’s like a Japanese pasta dish. The savory-sweet sauce went well with all the toppings and the hard noodles. I would love to try the Red version, but will have it in the store soon.
I love there ramen, especially there choices of broth. Approachable crew fast service, preparation of there ramen looks nice especially those who love taking photos 😊
I highly recommend the mazesoba ramen. Very filling and a finely crafted blend of various food ingredients and flavors. I will definitely come back for the ramen. One thing though the A/C wasn’t working as efficiently when we visited but it was good that they had tables outside and the weather was cool and breezy. So dining alfresco proved to be better.
Never tasted a "mazesoba" before but I'm glad I tried it out! Apparently, it's like ramen without the soup and it tasted amazing... a rare find indeed! Plus the food presentation looks like it's straight out from an anime. I also like how fast the service is and the ambience was very chill for me after a day's work. They also have this small shelf which contains mangas which we discovered once we were going out of the restaurant which was just sad because we wanted to read them.
Their ramen is really good and really gets you full. The place is well designed and clean. They have fast service too. Although it may not be the best ramen in Cebu but it's still delicious. 😊
The food is worth the price. Im no expert in eating ramen but the noodles isnt really my type, ive tried both thick and thin, the broth is perfect tho. Tried the koru tonkotsu, aka ni tomago and tantanmen. Gyoza and beef gyudon is ok . The chicken karaage is very good.
I recommend this place to ramen lovers out there. If you're fond of the thin type of noodle, then you'll enjoy here even more. I find it more salty tho, but only for the Black Ramen. I've tried the White and Red, too. They're all great. The Red is not as spicy as other dojos.
Maze soba is great, by mixing all the ingredients when you eat it, there's a twist to it. I really enjoy it. It's quite far but it's very worth it. I guarantee you.
I’ve to Japan twice. I’ve frequented Japanese restaurants here in the Ph over the years in the search for ramen places that decent ramen I can add on a very short list (because it is indeed difficult to find).
I must say Barikata is the one of the closest thing to authentic Japanese ramen here in Cebu that tastes delicious (I also like Ikkousha). The broth is pleasing to the palate, not too salty nor too oily and the broth does not taste rushed, Barikata definitely tastes their time to prepare their pork bone broth over an ample amount of time (just like traditional ones). I am very particular with my ramen and Barikata undoubtedly tops my list for Cebu.
Authentic Japanese ramen is not meant to overwhelm. The Japanese principle in food making are all about balance. I sense this in Barikata’s ramen. I tried their regular Tonkotsu and the black Kuro-Tonkotsu, both were superb. It takes me back to Odaiba, Osaka’s food haven.
I personally like ramen that I can enjoy to the very last sip of the dish. Most of the other ramen places in Cebu are bombarded with MSG, too salty, some even have ammoniacal smell that’s why I am hurt how come some of those horrible places have a higher rating than Barikata.
Last night, I went to Barikata Ramen Bar together with my co-teachers. This Japanese restaurant was awarded by Sunstar as the Best Ramen Shop of 2016. The shop is managed by one of our offline students, Oki-san.
We went there to avail their newest promo. You will get a 50% off of the real price by presenting a copy of their promo flyers and make sure your done liking their facebook page since it is part of the promo mechanics. The 50% off is only applicable if you choose the ramen of your choice; Tantan men or Shoyu Tonkotsu. The promo is valid until the 31st of May 2018.
I ordered the Tantan men while Shoyu Tonkotsu for my friends. I had tried Tantan men before and I really liked it. That was the main reason why I chose it over the Shoyu Tonkotsu. The real price was a little bit expensive but as for me, it was worth the price. The spiciness and the creaminess blended perfectly. The noodle was something odd. I find it different from the other ramen shop I had been visited before. I was not that sure if they were using authentic Japanese ingredients for their ramens and other dishes.
I had tasted as well the Shoyu Tonkotsu but I must say Tantan men was much better than that. Glad I made the right choice. The Shoyu Tonkotsu looked so yummy but it was like “Expectation vs. Reality”. The three teachers who ordered the dish were not able to finish their ramens. We also ordered two additional food as our side dishes. The ramen serving was fine and enough for one person. The service was fast. No need for you to wait longer than 30 minutes. They served the food hot. The ambience of the place was great maybe because we were the only customers last night. The staff were very accommodating. They wore their smiles and friendly vibes. If I am going to rate Barikata Ramen Bar it would be 4.4 over 5:
Food – 3.5/5
Place – 5/5
Ambience – 5/5
Servings – 3.5 /5
Staff – 5/5
If I will have the chance to visit the place again, I would surely want to go back but no longer for the ramens.
You know you are in a legit japanese ramen bar when you see japanese people all over it. Prices aren't too friendly for those looking for budget ramen but it is worth it. Broth looks, tastes, smells and feels divine. You'll get your money's worth.

Authentic Ramen!
Served hot and stays hot for a long time.. super appreciate it since our toddler often tags along with our foodtrips which means that when the food arrives, i hav to prepare his portion and feed him, so my usual dilemma is that my food has already gone cold by the time i get back to it.. but this one i was still able to enjoy while hot.. :)
oh, and the taste and blend of flavors satisfied my cravings for ramen!

I don't have a lot to write about because I only tried one dish, The famous Mazesoba. I gave it a try since it was on a promo and I loved every piece of it. I'm planning to try the Aka Tonkotsu Ramen soon.
First time to eat here! Our group ordered Kuro Chasu, Shiro Zenbu and Tempura for dinner.
Both ramen taste delicious with its rich flavor, all ingredients blending well in your mouth. I specifically like more the black ramen, the ones with black pork bone broth and garlic.
Service is fast and the servers are very attentive.
Ambiance is simple. The bowls and spoons which are arranged neatly on the wall add an interesting vibe to the place.
Accessibity is strategic since the restaurant is in IT Park which can be accessed by Apas/Lahug-bound jeepneys and cabs. Parking is available also within the building and fee can be waived as long as validated.
I love the service. The staff are accommodating. Plus the food is satisfying. A bit pricy but it's all worth it. Plus did I mention that their ramen is close as the ramen in Japan. I over heard one staff explaining to the customer near my table that the soup for ramen has been cook for days, just like the one in Japan. So try this one guys. It won't disappoint you.
Barikata is perfect for a romantic rainy season dinner date. I like the place since it's simple and their staff are very warm to customers. A different setting unlike most of the crowded ramen restos.
Their Black Koru-Chasu ramen is definitely a must-try for any ramen fans. However, I find it that they're asking too much for the product they offer. Anyhow, still a great place for the varation.
Barikata Ramen Bar is definitely among the best ramen restaurants in Cebu, especially if you're looking for that Ichiran Ramen taste. They serve thin firm noodles with that very recognizable tonkotsu/pork bone broth taste--very much like what I've tried abroad. It comes in white (plain, lightest taste), black (with garlic flavor), and red (spicy chili oil). It can become a little bit pricy if you choose more add-ons for your ramen--up to perhaps P550 a bowl if you want to include one of every topping possible. The service was good, didn't have to wait too long to get my order. The ambiance is simple with its wooden interiors, dim lighting with black painted walls and unassuming plainly colored ramen bowls. The feel of the place does not match its price range, in my opinion, as it is nowhere near instagram-worthy. But having said that though, the taste of their ramen here powers through as it is unlike many of the other more typical ramen bowls I've tried in Cebu (with the exception of Yushoken of course).
Bottom Line: For its unique take on their tonkotsu ramen, Barikata can definitely expect a return visit from me :)
1. Atmosphere/ Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The place is too dark for me. Chairs were too stuff though it was comfortable to sit in.
2. Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tables were oily. The condiments that were left on our table were messy. Also, the exhaust of this resto is not that great so expect that you might smell like ramen after dining.
3. Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food was served fast. Staff were attentive too. I just didn't feel the willingness to serve. Yeah, you'll feel that.
4. Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I did not get ramen. I got their bento box. I am a fan of bento boxes but theirs was not that delicious. I expected for the servings to be more because of the picture but when it arrived it was not that much. My hubby got their dry ramen, it was okay. Not like the usual but it's worth a try
5. Accessibility of the resto: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ get a jeepney that passes IT park then you'd be good.
This place is one of the decent and authentic ramen restaurants in Cebu that I can recommend. Barikata is a Japanese word used to refer to the kind of noodles used in your ramen. It means "very hard". Try to think of thinner italian strand-pasta and a bit more "al dente".
They are operating under the same group that runs Kushiyaki Chikuzenya and Chibori.
Safest choice for ramen newbies: Tonkotsu ramen, which, as you know like any other ramen, you must indulge in ASAP while it is still warm. The pork broth in their Tonkotsu is really thick and full-tasting that it can sometimes feel oily. Well that's a given with pork.
My favorite go to quick ramen fix... I think I've tasted almost everything on the menu and say it's delicious. Service is quick and the food comes fast. Parking is easy. I loveeeee their noodles . Big servings at the right price. I don't think you can go wrong.
One of the best decisions I've made was when I decided to try out Barikata. I've visited them twice and I was always satisfied. On my first visit, I ordered their Kuro Tonkotsu (which I will rate 4/5) and some gyoza on the side. The second visit, I ordered their Kuro Mazesoba and I shit you not it was so good and pair it with some gyozas and it's perf! The staff was really courteous plus they greet you in Japanese, which for me is a plus cause' it adds more to the feel of the place. I love the minimal design and the fact that you can see them prepare your ramen. The only downside would be the prices but it's not too much since you're getting a really good ramen out of it. Overall, Barikata is a must try for people that love Ramen or Japanese food in general.
It's so awesome that they continue add new items in the menu. The mazesoba and tsukemen are perfect for all ramen fanatics. Check it out and let me know if you like it .
The broth was sooo rich and you could really taste the pork bone in it. The noodles were perfect by my standards and the serving was generous. A good place to chill & dine with friends, it has a cute wall design perfect for ramen lovers.

Best authentic Japanese restaurant I have been. Bento is the ultimate must-try, and of course, it's in the name, Ramen. Though not so good price for people working in IT Park, it is still what it serves. You know what I mean.
Hooray for ramen! 🙌🏻 they have 3 flavors to try, the red, black and white. The red was the hot and spicy chili sauce, black was the garlic roasted sauce and white was the original pork bone broth. One of my friends really liked anything with garlic so we had the black ramen. It was our first time here for the three of us and one of my friends are in to ramen.
PLACE: all black walls except for the glass of course and one full wall art of an iconic painting in Japan, I don't know the name, basta, the one with the waves. On the opposite wall of it, is a bowl collection of red, black and white.
FOOD: This is all thanks to my Japanese friend, who recommended this ramen bar. So far, it's the best ramen in Cebu! 😍 we only tried the black ramen though. Me and my friends really digged in and we planned to come back here and try the white ramen. We also tried the Buta Kimuchi Bento which was recommended by one of the staff, Jacky. Mild spicy which was perf since I am not much of a spicy food lover and we like it.
SERVICE: Ms. Jacky who served us was really nice to us. She even recommended one good food to try and we liked it!
4 times keeps on coming back same month it was just a work related visit. You will know ramen is great when korean, Chinese & Japanese people all over the place when store's open. Love the kuro tonkotsu & aka tonkotsu overwhelming taste.
My favorite ramen shop so far! I love all their food!
Their ramen is flavorful, their noodles are not sticky.
They have good and fast service.
They have good value for the money.
Can't complain at all.

That distinct flavor, Ur still one of the best Ramen in Cebu.. I keep coming back to this place for that creamy ramen.. Aka Tonkotsu is all time favorite
Barikata Ramen Bar is the newest ramen house in town! Strategically located at the Calyx Building at Asiatown IT Park, Cebu, Barikata Ramen Bar surely is a must-try! It was actually my first time to try ramen so I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew was I’d be eating noodles! Lol! Fortunately, my first time was great and I’d like to think that I’d be on the lookout for more ramen houses in the coming days.
PLACE: Barikata Ramen Bar is strategically located at the Calyx Building at Asiatown IT Park, Cebu. The place is cozy, the service was also fast, and they had this mini book shelf where Japanese mangas are available for reading while you wait.
FOOD:
Aka Tonkotsu - P318. I ordered the Red Tonkotsu Ramen with hot chili in a separate saucer. But you can also ask to serve the hot chili combined with your ramen.
Kuro Tonkotsu - P308. This is a black roasted garlic ramen. I had a quick sip of the ramen soup and it had quite a distinct taste but it wasn't bad though. I just thought I don't like it.
Overall, my first ramen experience was great because I loved the Aka Tonkotsu! Though I didn't finish my bowl, because I was already too full, I enjoyed it. The pork was so tender as well. If the Filipino-ism gets into you, you can have rice with your ramen for P60, which I think is expensive though. They also have sodas for sale for P60 and a bottled water for P50.

I am not a ramen fan but I love Barikata's ramen. Not just they serve up real good ramen with their uniquely tasty broth, it can be a place to unwind with friends.
After trying their Aka, Shiro and Kuro Tonkotsu on different days, I could probably say that their pork ramen is consistently good. That good. With the soup part as viscous as it was, I surmise that the pork bone that they may have been using might have had polycythemia vera. Yea, in a good way that is.
But aside from the soup and noodle part, everything else was exiguous. You have to order extra toppings to get to that orgasmic high. Or in my case, I requested a full order of Tori Karage to assuage the hunger pangs brought about by the day's work at the clinic.
Great experience overall. And not too bad to have Japanese customers around.
I eat in Barikata weekly because it's the most accessible place to get good ramen. (Compared to Sachi, my favorite ramen place) What makes Barikata's ramen special is its thick and rich broth. You could really tell that pork bone was boiled for days to achieve the the quality of the broth. They use thin noodles too which is uncommon in other ramen places in Cebu. The only thing I don't like about their ramen is the absence of tamago. I really like tamago that's why I really look for it in my ramen. But overall, food and service is great. Price is fair and location is perfect.
I have tried the Aka Tonkotsu Ramen. Thre taste was similar to the authentic ramen in Japan but the broth was a tad thicker than most tonkotsu ramen but maybe it's their own style. Although the serving is quite smaller than usual ramen servings, they're currently offering free noodle and broth refills (currently in soft opening).
