A Taste Of Mandarin

We came here in past often since we stayed in hotels around this area when we were in Cebu (Montebello). They know our face already. Honestly, in past few times we passed this restaurant, but never entered since it looked 'empty' with its huge glass window. On other hand even you put 30 people or more, it still look empty since the place is big. So at the end we entered this restaurant because an old friend living in Apas told me we must try if we love chinese food. We tried almost everything here except Peking Duck. So far we love their food. We will come back here again surely, bit far now since we stay now in Marigondon area when we are in Cebu. The dimsum selection is in 'Tao Yuan' better, but 'Taste of Mandarin' has other specialities. We really can recommend this restaurant to food lovers. They should renovate the restaurant (is our opinion).

If you are looking for a perfect venue for a family celebration, A Taste of Mandarin at Gaisano Country Mall is the place to be. My mind was refreshed when I got invited to do a review of this Genuine Chinese Restaurant. I remembered the first time I visited this place was when we had our familiarization tour as a hotelier years ago. We would recommend the place for our guests craving for Chinese dishes.

This is my first time to try a traditional Chinese banquet and I am impressed by how festive and elegant this tradition is. This is also my first time in A Taste of Mandarin. I often see this resto when we are in Country Mall but have always hesitated to try bec of its stunning facade. It seems like the place is screaming "$$$" sign, but you know what? I realized that it's not that expensive considering the portions of the dishes they serve. I have a couple of favorites, like the Patatim, Prawn Salad and Pollonchai Soup. I can confidently say that the Patatim is the best patatim I have ever tried, by far. You guys should try it because it's really worth it. I am amazed by their Buddah Soup because it has all the top of the line ingredients that you can find. It felt like having soup with all the wonders of the world in it. I did not like it that much, because the taste is bursting with so much flavors, I couldn't get my mind to distinguish which is which. But I'm happy I was able to try it because it's something that I cannot eat everyday. I guess the lazy susan is ever present in a lauriat style setting and I like the idea of it. I remember my childhood days when my grandmother used to have lazy susan as well. It made dining really easy. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I went home with a full stomach and I kept blabbing about every dish I had to my friends. If you're up for something traditionally Chinese, try A Taste of mandarin. This place is best suited for bigger groups because their servings are big and good for sharing. It may be a bit pricey to average working class but there is always a time to splurge, once in a while. Right?

Delicious Chinese food all nicely wrapped into a very soothing chinese atmosphere. Their bird's nest soup and lemon chicken are among the best. There's usually not that many people so you can just go in without a reservation.

Okay Where do I start. At first the restaurant really looked so intimidating judging by it's over all look so maybe thats why people are scared or shy to go in and dine having that thought that maybe it would be super duper expensive. 

So for their food they served Authentic Mandarin Food. We had a 3 course meal I think Appetizer, MainCourse and Dessert. 

For the Appetizer my favorite would be the 'Special two hot cold combination' it had 5 dishes in one and it was really good especially the Soyed Chicken which was so tender and juicy.

 For the MainCourse my favorite was the 'Lemon Chicken' it was really different from the other Lemon Chicken dishes I have tried before from different restaurants and I can really say it's the best lemon chicken dish I've had so far.

For the dessert which is my favorite part of the meal where I always can't wait for. My favorite was the 'Peanut soup with Lomaichi' I CAN ABSOLUTELY SAY THIS WAS THE BEST PART AND BEST DISH. I was so so happy eating this and even thought I was already full from all the food that was served this was still that good. I'd surely come back and maybe even just order this thats how good it is.

There were dishes I didn't quite understand though maybe it's just an acquired taste, but
Over all the Service was really good they are very attentive and super friendly. I love how they value their costumers well. For the Price it was reasonable because of the quality of the food they served was truly worth it.  Would surely come back!
