Soba Kamakura

Loved everything about the place!!

Despite the hassle of having to pre-order food, the food we ordered was sooooo good! I loved the soba, the beef salad, & the matcha dessert, most especially. Don’t miss out on the edamame beans served for appetizers!! The quality of the ingredients were clearly top notch & fresh, which is why I don’t mind the high price range. Personally, I think servings were just enough for one person so don’t skimp on orders.

In terms of service, I can’t complain. Food is delivered to your table pretty quickly as they were pre-ordered. Wait staff are friendly & informed so hit them up with any questions you have.

As for ambience, it was an amazing experience overall. Right when you step in the restaurant, you’re reminded of Japan’s distinct culture. I loved the CR, btw. The automatic everything was so cool!! The only downside is that the area is small. Tables are only good for 3-4 occupants & mind you, there are only 2 tables. There are some single chairs near the chef’s area, though if you decide on dining alone.

Worth the hassle!

The restaurant only has seats for 10 diners, so they require you to reserve and pre-order your food at least 1 day before.

All the soba noodles were freshly made. I had the beef soba. The beef was cut into thin tender slices. The broth was delicious.

My group ordered the appetizer set. I didn't really enjoy the tofu and fish cake, but the unagi was divine.

Make sure you order the marinated yellow fin tuna (magoro-no marine). The tuna was fresh and the marinade was full of flavor. It was my personal favorite dish.

One of the only restaurants in Cebu that deserves to be featured in Mieles Guide and the infamous Michellin Star Guide. Absolute Perfection.
