The food was good, everythig was great from the crackers till the rice. The place was okay, was a bit small, you might not be able to have parties but can serve maybe 4-5 big families. They were just really understaffed. It took a while before we were assisted. But they were friendly and willing to assist.
Good thing about being inside the mall is the proximity of restaurants from one another. In just a few steps, one could easily satisfy certain food cravings. Whenever we're in Sta Lucia East Grand Mall, Flavours of China, situated at the Ground floor, has always been on our list when we fancy some delectable Chinese dishes. The place looks always clean and has a simple but handsome decor.
During our repeat visits, their menu items like Flavours of China Spareribs, Deep fried Boneless Chicken in Lemon Sauce, Stir Fried Beans with Minced Pork, Soy Tofu, Broccoli Flower with Garlic, Crispy B-day Noodles and sometimes just Braised Beef Brisket with Wanton Noodle Soup paired with Bola-bola or Asado Siopao, would pleasurably whet our appetite. Those are just some of their flavorful dishes that we've usually ordered. All are priced right and good enough for sharing. Plus, they give complimentary prawn crackers and some hot tea, too.
But like the traditional Chinese music which they play every once in a while when they feel the mood for it, customer service, noticeably lack consistency too. Staff would sometimes be prompt and attentive. Other times, they would be slow and sluggish. Thorough staff training would be a big factor for guests' satisfaction if implemented.

Flavours of China is known for its unli yang chow fried rice. The food is decent, but there is something about their menu that does not make me want to explore its main entrees.
There are only three items off the menu that I can safely recommend. I order the honey glazed spare ribs EVERYTIME. The meat is always juicy and never overcooked, and the walnuts complement the pork very well. When I don't feel like having rice, I order the stir-fried beans with minced pork on the side. It is occasionally a bit greasy, but the hint of heat and bitterness is an excellent contrast to the sweetness of the honey-glazed pork spare ribs.
Twice I've ordered the pata tim-style pork belly with mantao buns--as an appetizer. The portion size of this dish makes it a meal in itself. It is an inexpensive but satisfying meal. You have been forewarned. ☺
