Jellybeans In The City

This year’s Valentine’s Day dinner at home was easy and fuss-free, thanks to a nearby branch of North Park Noodles. That Friday came at the end of a very busy work week and I was in no mood to worry about elaborate food preparation. Well, technology came to the rescue. At that time, North Park Noodles offered a special Sama-Sama Bundle – a combination of dishes good for sharing available at a discount – to orders made through GrabFood.
For the past twenty-five years, North Park has been serving freshly cooked Chinoy comfort food – Pinoy takes on popular Chinese dishes – to its clientele.
For only Php888 (+Php45 delivery fee), the fam and I were able to feast on some of its best-sellers
We Ordered Fookien style fried rice w/sauce, boneless fried chicken, sweet and sour fish fillet and roast combination platter. I like their fish fillet and roast platter(good for 3-4 persons). 👍
Great Chinese food with good value for money. The portion per dish is also big so maybe you could share it with others. This could be a place to go with family after doing some grocery shopping. We went there late at night when they were about to close down and I think that could be a good time to go there so that there are not much people eating anymore.
One of the best congees I tried. Still this is my favourite! It’s hot and loaded! 😊 I love the jasmin tea that they offered. My kids like their siopao. We’ve been here many times and we like their food selections. The taste is surely delicious and not disappointing.
I remember getting my first job 2 years ago and promising my family we’d eat here when I get my first paycheck.
The price of each food wasn’t surprising because it was Chinese food. When ordering, we always ask the server about the serving size because we are big eaters. The server said all the orders were good for one so we went ahead and ordered a plate for each one of us. To our surprise, the servings were huge!
All I can remember were the lechon macau over rice which my brother ordered, the double pork rib and 3 kinds of mushroom braised noodles that I ordered, and the pineapple fried rice with pork sausage that we all agreed to order. Up to now, it’s the default things we order at this restaurant.
The double pork rib – one of the best things EVER. The Double Pork Rib, is basically a lightly breaded deep fried pork chop that is served with Oyster Sauce. Eating in "stock version" would give it a solid B+. Drown it in the sauce, if needs be. The dish is simple, but flavorful, and it’s one of those things that might not wow you on the onset, but you'll be craving for it for days after. My favorite part is the fatty area of the pork, that has a crispy exterior, and melts in your mouth when you bite into it.
My only qualm was the slow service, you had to ask 3 times to get your water refilled, and this happens every time we go here!
But nonetheless, North Park is worth every peso.
