We were going around Antipolo looking a nice place to dine and found this place via Waze. I love the food here! We loved the Pasta Florentine and Pasta Padilla. My daughter who does not usually eat vegetables enjoyed Florentine, sauce is made with fresh vegetables, pesto sauce with ricotta and parmesan cheese. We also enjoyed the 7cheese grilled pizza, tho I find the crust a bit uncooked. Loved their chocolate and cheesecake as well.
The ambiance is nice and cozy, we would have fully enjoyed our dining experience if only we were allowed to take the extra table beside the window. The head waiter said its reserved tho no guests came after we finished our meals. Better to reserve the best table if ever we’ll come back.
The restaurant I believe has undergone a renovation and looks fantastic, plus food was great!
I loved everything, you can really say that the food is made with love
Sorry we didnt get the chance to take photos as we wanted to savour the moment.
Everything was perfect! Ambience was very inviting and warming. The view of Manila was just astonishing. Great food, good heaping portions, and veryyyy delicious complimentary drink.
We got the prefix menu for 3 (Italian menu). loved everything! Only thing i can comment on was there were too much bread on every dish. I guess its better to serve fewer next time, and maybe just wait for the guest to ask for more to lessen wastage :)
Service was beyond expectation! Very respectful and professional staff (especially the guy in red, didnt get the chance to know his name! its easy to tell tho, he is super bubbly and friendly).
Overall, we had an awesome time indeed! Will surely be back for more.
First time here with the fiancé. We had to use waze app to get here as they are located in the inner streets from the highway. You have to have a map but once you get there, it’s worth it. The view is amazing, overlooking the Manila skyline sans the smog. Hehe We made prior reservations just so we can secure a table by the window.
I wanted to celebrate my birthday and I chose Vieux Chalet and we were not disappointed.
When we arrived around 4:30PM, there was only another couple dining at that time. I wanted to come early so we can view the sunset while we eat our food.
The plaze is cozy and very intimate especially because we got the place to ourselves after the other couple left. The service was very good and the food? DELISH.
They attended to all our needs giving free bread and dip which was by the way, their own homemade dip.
We ordered the fettucine padilla pasta, pizza del casa and their pink salmon. I initially ordered their beef tenderloin but it wasn’t available so i opted for their salmon.
We were not at all disappointed because the serving was hefty and the veggies on their pizza was FRESH! The salmon was cooked about just right and the sauce which was again home made was superb.
Since it was my bday, the hostess told me not to order dessert as they have it on the house. It was sweet of them and they gave me swiss chocolate cupcake with ice cream on top. I loved every bit of it. Thank you! I ordered cappucino instead.
We were so full after our meal we had to stay for another 30min before leaving just talking and enjoying the view. We’ll definitely come back again. :)
Ambiance: amazing place! The resto looks like a house on the mountain overlooking the city.
Serving: huge! They said the set meal was for 4 so we added a pizza. But without the pizza, the serving was enough for 5pax.
Taste: Their food is amazing. 1st time to try Swiss food but i ican say that their amazing.
Price: For me it’s just right for 5 of us. Since it was almost fine dine.
Service: they were very attentive and helpful when you are having hard tine choosing the food. They even
Must try: DESSERT
THEY ALSO ACCEPT CARD SO NO PROBLEM IF YOU DONT HAVE CASH.
I dine here during special occasion. Usually for breakfast. Bacon, ham, sausages are all homemade. Pancakes are fluffy. Madami yung serving and hindi nakaka umay.
Mabait yung staff nila and very accommodating.
They renovated the place, still cozy and warm vibe.
We love Vieux Chalet! A romantic, charming, cozy and quaint Swiss-inspired hidden restaurant in the heart of Antipolo. They only serve what they cook best, which means a short selection of dishes, yet that's part of the fil-swiss charm. For our hors d'oeuvre, we ordered the Malakoff; a ball of fried camembert served with assorted toasted bread. For the entrée, we had Chicken a la Tony (P695), roasted organic chicken with lemongrass and served with vegetable sidings. Our choice for pasta was Penne Salsiccia (P395), penne fettuccine tossed in a deep and rich fresh tomato sauce with homemade sausages, parmesan cheese and homemade ricotta cheese.
Overall, although a bit on the pricey side, the chalet is a lovely place to spend a romantic evening or a quiet meal with friends. Food was delicious and we gave five stars for the Malakoff! Our favorite! And a must try for cheese lovers! Best to make reservations so you can get a window table that has a great view of the city, especially in the evening. We are definitely excited to go back for another date!
FOOD: Hand down the best we’ve had since Wolfgang Steakhouse 😂 kidding aside, food is AMAZING! We ordered The Prexif menua The Chalet and The Berne. The serving was big enough for 2! We should have just ordered one, but hubs wanted to try the other dishes
PLACE: I think its only reachable by car, its located near the most popular mountain resorts in Antipolo. The place is quiet and the overall feel of the place is really nice, like its inviting you to go back again and dine
PRICE: The Chalet was priced at P1670 and The Berne at P1850. Though I would consider it as somewhat pricey, I can say that I highly recommend this place
SERVICE: We were attended to at all times. Checked up on us every now and then to see of the meal can be served
Really great place for a date night
++++ They serve the drinks in Reusable straws
It’s a restaurant that someone has to purposely search for since it’s off the main road. Going on a Sunday made it much easier as traffic was light.
Ordered Osso Buco and the 6-cheese pizza, coupled with 2 bottles of white wines. Total bill came out to be P7,000 thereabouts. Not cheap, definitely.
The osso buco was tasty, beef was tender, sauce was generous, but at P1,150 one has to appreciate the cooking method and ingredients to know that it’s worth the price.
The pizza was equally good — cheesy! Waitstaff explained all the cheeses. Quality cheese ingredients, though the crust could be a tad thinner.
Service was attentive (3 tables at 15:00 when we dined) and courteous.
Would have given 5 stars if menu were priced 20% lower.
Will definitely return during dinner time.

Since they’re renovating, service is a little slower than usual but food is great. Their former 5-Cheese Pizza is now 6 cheeses, and behold, there is a secret cheese! But what I really appreciated was their Homemade Fettucine Padilla. It has different mushrooms in it. Despite the white sauce, it wasn’t satiating at all. Good for sharing (3 pax)
The thing that was special about their pizza though was, the crust was uniquely biscuitty and most cheese pizzas include Blue Cheese. This one was not one of those. The pizza is at Php 1080 really pricey but maybe because, one their secret cheese is homemade and two, cheeses are expensive. They have two sizes but of course, the bigger one is more practical. Will surely come back here even if it felt really inaccessible at first. On our way there, we had several road obstacles at is was a zigzag road. Would want to try their Osso Buco and Lamb Shoulder. They have set meals that include soup, salad, an entree and a dessert. A bit pricey but I think if we were really hungry, it would be worth it.
Another thing great is the view. I just hope on their renovation, they could have a balcony that is nearer to the view.
VIEUX CHALET SWISS RESTAURANT
Taktak, Antipolo City
Located beyond the private resorts of Antipolo just around Hinulugang Taktak, you will find this Homey Restaurant. From a far you will see an old house covered in lots of plants, you won't think that it is a restaurant.
Upon entering the restaurant, you will find limited number of seats, so better reserve early to be accomodated or come earlier than usual hours haha.
You will find that old antique house atmosphere with the wooden floors and wide windows that offers the scenic view of the City.
Tables and chairs are neatly done, flowerful decorations and old stuffs are everywhere. Piano on the side with old photos of the owners and walls decorated with antique-like decorations, moreso collections of the owners.
Approaching the restroom, you will find other skin care products that they offer aside from their food.
The place is really awesome even at noon time.
Servers are attentive and accomodating, all our requests are given and also gave a complimentary birthday cake.
The foods served to us taste really good and scrumptouos, but I think it is a little bit pricey for the serving size. I hope they could improve and consider that Filipinos are big eaters haha...
One of the bests in Antipolo. Vieux Chalet is one of my happy places.
Food is a bit pricey pero it's super sulit! Lahat masarap.
Their roasted pumpkin soup is the one of the best I had so far. 👍👍👍👍👍
Very Hungry Farmer is what We always order for breakfast (already good for 2). 👍👍👍👍
Pork fillet mignon in Onion Cream Sauce 👍👍👍👍
Service is a plus plus. All of them are very accomodating.
Their place is really good for a date night. 🥂
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly Recommended
The place to go for a weekend brunch! Quaint little chalet with stunning skyline views and yummy food! And friendly service too.
We started off with a Tinapa spread which was yummy and their refreshing Basil Calamansi and Calamanturis soda coolers.
Next came a delectable fried Swiss Cheese with freshly baked bread.
Our mains were Fettuccine Florentine (Vegetarian) and Chicken a la Tony. The florentine pasta had a lot of fresh garden veggies like broccoli, cauliflower with olives in an olive oil dressing. The second dish was a fine roasted organic whole chicken with sidings
Our memorable meal ended with a lovely Swiss Chocolate Cake a la mode topped with their homemade ice cream
Hard to find, but a gem of a place to eat. The view is great, with food to match. A place popular for couples with its intimate setting. Prices are a bit high, but still enjoyable. As a big fan of raclette cheese, i had ordered this on both occasions ive been. Their pizzas are all so mouth watering to look at, and pleasing to the eye. They are served thin crust, which im generally not a fan of. On both occasions we really enjoyed their on the house starter/appetizers to whet the appetite, and each time being different. Interestingly, both were out of this world in taste and flavor.
Been here with my family. Food was delicious. The place is more recommended for couples though. ☺️ staff were really friendly and I loved the ambiance of the place. Will definitely come back. 💕
This is where I spent my 23rd birthday with these peeps. The place is romantic. Very accomodating staffs, the ambiance is good and you get what you pay for. We will definitely go back here soon!! 😊

Hidden gem in Antipolo. This place never fails to always brings me good and happy memories. Must try ate their pizzas and pastas. Their service is also prompt and servers are polite. Looking forward to come back again soon.
This is a gem in Rizal! I love how quaint the place is. The food was really yum!!! The raclette was so good I wanted to order more! I definitely look forward to going back!
Ambience:
Cozy warm environment, it feels like going home to your lolo and lola. 5 out of 5.
Crew/Service:
Helpful, polite crew willing to give you assistance at anytime. 5 out of 5.
Food:
This is my second time around, my first one was not so great. I ordered the fish the last time, but not this time and pretty much enjoyed what I ordered (See photos). 4.5 out of 5.
Facilities:
Clean restrooms, but only one available. Parking is almost non existing except for outside. 4.5 out of 5.
Recommended: Yes, if you want food that will tickel your senses in a warm cozy environment with a crew of nice people, then this is the place to be. But the price is a bit on the high side.
A lovely homemade Italian Swiss meal: Raclette to start, pizza to share, and Swiss Chocolate Parvati to finish with.
While here please do order:
(1) Raclette - the Raclette here is my favorite in Manila
(2) Cafe Ala Rico
I love this restaurant because it has a beautiful view of Metro Manila. Best to come here around 4pm around September to see the best view of the sunset :)
We booked our anniversary dinner at Vieux Chalet and it was definitely worth it! At P1,500 per person (net), we got ourselves a full course meal complete with an appetizer (Sausage Platter), salad (Tomatoes with Kesong Puti), and main course (Beef Tenderloin with Vieux Chalet's signature herbed butter). We ordered dessert (Swiss Chocolate Ala Mode) separately as it wasn't included in the set meal. All in all, although a bit on the pricey side, we had a wonderful and filling meal. The staff are also very courteous and accommodating whenever we have questions about the food. View is also great!
Why 5 stars? Because why not! This place definitely deserves it.
Location is very secluded and private but can be searched through navigation apps.
It has a cozy ambiance and a breathtaking view so better to make a reservation, you’ll get the best seats.
Menu is temporarily on set meals due to the renovation of their kitchen. But the quality of food is still appetizing and satisfying (Try their Calamanturis!)
Staff are generously accommodating. They provide brief background of the place, ask should you need anything, and make you feel at ease. They also have a pet named Beast who will welcome you the moment you step in to their gate.
PS : BUY CHITS FOR THE KIDS! Instead of giving them coins or tips for helping you park or looking after your car, ask the staff about the chits. It will be better for them 😊
The best long weekend cheesy destination in Antipolo. I love their five-cheese grilled pizza. It’s truly the best. I would not mind going back to this place to try their wide selection of food. Jaz BL
Been here a decade ago and this resto hasn't lost its countryside charm. The resto is perfect for a romantic date; the staff's very knowledgeable and courteous; and the food's still amazing after all these years. My husband and I were really impressed by the quality of the ingredients. The 5-cheese pizza was nothing short of perfection and the Swiss chocolate cake a la mode was spectacular. I would really love to replicate their basil calamansi drink at home! The taste still lingers in my mind. If only this resto will open a branch in QC, I'm sure we'll be frequent visitors. The price is a bit high but you don't feel shortchanged after one single bite. The location might be a little off the beaten track but it somehow adds to the charm of this place. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED when you're in the lovely hills of Antipolo.
The pizza was great, but I find it too pricey. The osso bucco and lamb was good and so was the raclette. The Italian Farmer's soup was ok, it tastes like a light pumpkin soup, but the Tomato soup, it was way too salty and sour.
Food: 10/10
Costly but really worth the price. I took my girlfriend to celebrate Valentines Day and she loved the food. Interesting fact: their Menu changes depends on a season or time.
Ambience: 10/10
Best place for an intimate date with your special someone. With the view of the city and the sunset view? -you would definitely have a pleasant experience
Service: 10/10
Excellent! Just excellent! Super accommodating!
Deserved for a perfect 5 review!
This restaurant have been buzzing since the 80s. First time I've been here was in the early 90s.
In terms of food; This should be the gold standard of Antipolo. Truly a class of its own. You cannot compare this establishment to any restaurant in the area. Their menu is not your typical Rizaleño restaurant. A little bit pricey but serving is ample.
If you fancy European cuisine, this is the place to be.
From cheeses, salads, platters, pasta dishes, steaks, pizzas and desserts, just a complete ensemble of goodness.
The ambience is simple, rustic and romantic. Best for dating couples. The view of the city adds to the charm of this place. If you haven't been here, on the way to the resto, you'd think if there's really a restaurant down the road. Coz it's really secluded and the road is quite dark at night. But again, all of those add to the appeal of the place.
You should try their salads. All of their salads are good. BTW, the Mango Shrimp Cocktail is awesome. Go ahead, try it!
For starters, my personal choice is their Paté de Foie. If you want a more sinful starter, you may go and indulge on their Swiss Platter that has Smoked Bacon, Smoked Ham, Pink Salmon, Ricotta, Paté, etc.
As for the soup, I always go for the soup of the day. Can't go wrong with that.
Pizzas are good as well. My favorite is the Five Cheese Grilled Pizza. A combination of Raclette, Gruyere, Cheddar and to give it a twist of Filipino flavor, Kesong puti.
If you wanna try their fondue, I recommend the Cheese Fondue. Again, it's cheese. Can't get any better that.
In the pasta department, I highly recommend their Shrimp Ravioli and Fetuccine Alfredo.
For the main course, my #1 choice would be the Osso Buco and a close 2nd is their Lamb Shoulder with Red Wine Sauce. If you want seafood, try their Pink Salmon. Over time, I have tried all they offer as main course. It's all good. Don't forget that Sauerkraut. You gotta have those too.
For dessert, you might wanna try their Swiss Chocolate Cake a la mode. If you have a sweet tooth, Swiss Chocolate Fondue might be for you.
In general, food is good and service is pretty much up there. Especially if you are to compare it with other restaurants in Antipolo. I just wish they had a better wine selection that can be paired with their cheese platter and cheese based dishes.
I'm glad Vieux Chalet hasn't change over the years. That's the beauty of it. Intimate, rustic and nostalgic.
If there was an actual city vs city restaurant battle, Vieux Chalet is the best bet of Antipolo and the whole of Rizal.
Ambiance: 10/10
They got that romantic hidden restaurant feel. The place looks fancy and the interiors are impeccable.
Best place to catch the sunset! :)
Food: 10/10
The food is expensive but definitely worth the price.
Service: 10/10
The staff are very well trained and accommodating.
This is the perfect place for celebrations and proposals!
What we loved about Vieux Chalet was not just the food, but also the good service and general feel of the restaurant. It's also the kind of place that has a story, which you can not only read about, but also look through cause of the number of photo albums available. The owners of the place definitely knew what they wanted people to feel when they put up their restaurant.
Whats interesting about their menu is that it changes depending on the season. It also differs depending on the head chef, who is also one of the owners. And get this. It's all organic. Of course it's pretty pricy as it is fine dining, but we'd love to come visit this restaurant again.
We ordered the creamy pesto and beef tenderloin.
The creamy pesto was really great. The pasta was hand pulled and the vegetables on the dish created a really good balance. The serving was big and enough to fill our bellies.
The beef tenderloin was also yummy, and surprisingly, one of the best things on that plate aside from the beef was the Swiss butter. It was perfect on the dish. The fried potatoes under the beef was also something we enjoyed. It was slightly sweet and crispy.
This place is really a must try. Check out our blog on Instagram @thegreynomadblog and look us up on wordpress (link on our bio), if you wanna read more about our dining experience in Vieux Chalet.
Have happy memories of this place...love their hot chocolate. Servers are very charming and cute 😉 we also ordered the raclette..not bad 😉 but its a good go to place for hot chocolate 😍
Spot on!!! Great scene of a city overlooking with a touch of sunset drama... superb! Personalized service :) Food was excellent and my favorites are the Swiss Raclette and Osso Bucco... all thumbs up! Amazed if the location... 😄😄😄
The highlight of this place was the cozy, homely feeling it brought with the old but elegant house turned to a restaurant together with the view of the city and if the weather permits, a beautiful sunset.
The food was also excellent. I had a high expectation for the spinach ravioli since it got astonishing reviews and it was more than I expected. The beef tenderloin was also cooked well. The ingredients they use are really good and you could taste how well the quality of their food is.
Although the travel time from the city took quite long, the entire place was worth the time. Overall, I would give this a 5.0 if the price went down a bit. Definitely going back here.
Food is superb, ambiance is unique, pricing is reasonable.
Nothing much to say but first class everything.
You could even use the place to propose to your fiancè 😊
Cheers
I read quite a bit of great reviews about the restaurant and was excited to experience it myself. The restaurant was not how I expected it to be. It is very homey with old family trinkets displayed throughout the dining area. Service is excellent too, with the experinced butler leading. The star of the show is the food. All freshly made and really scrumptious! Price point is a bit high though and the long distance drive from Manila can be a hassle.
service was undoubtable! the place exudes a refreshing and homey vibe in the morning then to a romantic, magical and dreamy during the night. food was superb, really a must! i have known my hubby for big appetite, so it's a plus that they have generous servings. and i rarely saw him eat cakes, and i was surprised when he finished the ricotta cheesecake! a big smile for me coz i was able to make his first father's day celebration a delightful one. :) p.s. for overnight stay, i recommend the florence room. the setting was oh so, plus the view outside. it's like your dreams are within your reach. :)

My hubby and I love this resto not just for the great view but also for the good food and service. Try to catch the sunset here it's going to take your breath away
We had our merienda here in the best restaurant in antipolo. My family and I had a coffee break, the service was very good, ambiance was great, desserts was very good and I will be back for sure. I need to eat good and real food here again. Thanks :)
What a cheesy date we had 😘 at Vieux Chalet. The place was homey and quaint, really got me in the mood for eating. We had the ff: cheese festival, ravioli, 5 cheese pizza, and swiss chocolate ala mode. The cheese festival was composed of small cut up bread pieces in a glass and a veggie-filled melted cheese in a pan. Spinach Ravioli was delicious. The five cheese pizza was baked to perfection with a surprise inclusion of kesong puti. Swiss chocolate cake ala mode was just 😍 especially for a chocolate lover like me. Just a tip from Sir Rico, who was super accommodating. He advised us to call next time for reservation (rather than email them) and even provided us with a bookmark with their cell numbers.
We went for an overnight stay to celebrate our anniversary. The room was beautiful and quaint, with all the necessary amenities. The surrounding garden areas are best enjoyed during the day. The view of the city from the restaurant is elegant. The restaurant is homey and charming yet dignified. I've been fortunate to have eaten here with other diners who appreciate going through dinner without too much chatting. As you go through a simple afternoon meal or intimate dinner, much time is offered for reflection and quiet appreciation.
When guests were brought to the place on a different occasion, we were welcomed with the same allure for the place, and hospitality by Rico, the butler. Food was enjoyed as much as everything else that the place offered.
Price point and proximity to the city could be a disappointment for some, but the experience of the place is best taken within the context of a well-deserved, leisurely pause.
We came during down time, probably around 3pm. When we came, all the tables were reserved but the head waiter was kind enough to accommodate us since the reservations were for dinner anyway.
In addition to the very home-y feeling, the food was amazing. The best, I would have to say, was their cheese pizza.
Vieux Chalet is a Swiss Restaurant owned by the Hassigs, a Swiss-Filipino family. Ambiance is rustic, the view of the city lights is romantic, food is amazing and service is outstanding (hats off to Rico, the head waiter). This restaurant is the most memorable place for me and my husband. This is where we had one of our first dates, our anniversaries and this place is the witness to his "Will You Marry Me?" and where I said "Yes!". Lamb shoulders is our favorite but sometimes I also order Norwegian Salmon. We also love their Cheese Fondue and we always conclude with a choco icecream cake which comes for free on special occasions. Thank you, Vieux Chalet!
Vieux Chalet was was a welcome surprise as it was the closest alternative my BFF and I got to Tagaytay's Sonya's Garden during the APEC Week.
Located in Taktak Road, Antipolo, (just a few meters from Cristina Villas Resort), this old house-turned-restaurant and bed and breakfast offers a good view of the cityscape, quirky interiors, a legit Swiss menu, and some good company, thanks to Rico and the ladies.
Most items in the menu were appetizing, but they seem more suitable for a steak dinner, especially the cheese fondue house specialty.
So for lunch, we opted for fresh green organic salad, the vegetarian pasta (made a lot tastier by the roasted veggies), and a meat (cold cuts) platter. Drinks (lemongrass cooler and honey-calamansi juice) were as refreshing as they were creative.
Serving is good for sharing, but generally, food is a little pricey.
Place is recommended for romantic evening dates, special intimate dinners, and short but sweet getaways.
We were actually making an ocular visit among private resorts in antipolo to plan for my mom's surprise birthday party when we came across this restaurant. Curiousity got us and we were drawn into this nice, cozy place with landscape view of manila to top it all. Nice food, very sumptuos I should say, but quite pricey! We ordered home made toast, pasta alfredo and mixed sausages. Should you plan to have a romantic date, the place has a relaxing, calm and homey atmosphere in it. The staff are also courteous and very accomodating, good customer service! This is a hidden gem, I recommend this place to anyone planning a romantic date or to those just wanting to relax and unwind.
Okay I have no idea on Swiss cuisine except that they have the world's best cheese lol so I don't know what to expect. This place is a hidden gem, it is really very difficult to find so I suggest using waze and finding/asking for directions. I was surprised that they were established for over 30 yrs already considering that they are hidden on the many mountains of Antipolo so that must've mean people would still keep coming back even though it's far from the metro. And I tell after dining in this place, I have already decided. I must come back. Really the food served here are very delicious!
So let's start with our orders. For our appetizers, we started with cheese festival, pate de foie, cheese festival, and cream of mushroom soup. Let's start with a boring dish, cream of mushroom soup. And lo and behold they are able to transform an ordinary boring soup into something else. The soup was delicious. Next up is the cheese festival which is melted mozzarella and ricota cheese and perfect with their homemade bread. This dish is really good though I think the serving was not enough (or maybe I just ate too much of it lol). And the last of appetizers, pate de foie, which my cousin suggested we order. I have no idea what this is though it must be something similar to foie gras and that means liver right. Turns out this appetizer was the Swiss version of foie gras but instead is beef liver. I tried it and I thought it was good. Though I can't tell how good it is since I haven't tried that much foie gras anyways.
And now for our main entrees, we ordered ricotta-spinach ravioli, Berne Platte, and pizza de la casa. I love the ravioli! It was just cooked right. The sauce was delicious too. Though this might be a little heavy so beware. We asked the wait staff what they suggest for our pizza and he said that their best seller was pizza de la casa so we went for it. The pizza was really good but honestly I think there's nothing special about it. I've tried better homemade pizzas before.
So now off the to the main event of the evening, the Berne Platte. It consists of seared bacon slab, smoked pork chop, sausage, osso buco, served with homemade bread, sauerkraut, rosti and grilled vegetables. I love everything about this dish! The bacon was tender, juicy, flavorful. The same can be said with the smoked pork chop. I like the smoky flavor of the pork chop, though the pork chop might tend to be a little bit dry and tough after a while so best eat it first while it's hot. The sausage was a favorite too and it was the first to disappear. Too bad they only serve one sausage. The osso buco was really delicious and probably is my favorite among the meats. It is beef shanks slowly braised on a tomato based sauce. It kinda tasted like kaldereta and that's maybe why I loved this dish. The beef were really tender and delicious. The sauce was so good that I had to get a piece of bread and wipe the sauce on my plate clean with it. The roti is just a Swiss style hashbrown. Nothing special here. I was so full after eating this platter. I'm done eating but my cousins had to still order dessert. I don't like sweets and desserts that much so I don't know how good was it. Except that it looked really pretty. They ordered the chocolate ice cream and it looked really sweet.
So overall we enjoyed our food here. Yes this might be expensive and fancy but the food was really worth it? Besides, it's not like I'm going to be able to eat here anytime I want to. Probably when celebrating something special I might go here again. :)
First, the place isn't easy to find. It's so peaceful and good for romantic dates. The staffs are really friendly, they know if the customers want to take a picture. Uhm you should try their cheese festival (i think that's the name) and their pasta which is the fettuccine florentine. Their food is kinda pricey, but worth it! 👌
I wouldn't be coming back here as often as I do if it wasn't for the great tasting food, the warm welcome from the staff and the scenic view! I have tried more than half of their menu and it has NEVER failed to exceed my expectations. The extensive menu makes it interesting rather than confusing (compared to other restaurants); the taste is so unique it makes you want to forget other food franchise outlets; the food - Oh man, the food, they have so much flavour in them that you want to try a bit of everything! The portions are more than an average man can handle so make sure you bring your friends to help you out! Most of all, it's the experience that you will never forget - thanks to the combination of jolly members of Vieux Chalet staff, the memorable home-like restaurant, and the undoubtedly great-tasting food!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in town! You might get lost going to this place but the long ride is all worth it! ☺️ You have to try their food! I love their Cheese festival. Better try their Swiss specialties. They only have 10 tables, I think. So better to have your reservation beforehand! 😉 Also, you'll totally love their very friendly manager (I think he's name is Rico!). They have the most approachable crew! Good food, great view, fast service! What else do you need, right? 😊
Food was amazing. Yes, good food for your money. Its not exactly cheap but its so worth the money and the effort to go to this place. :)
Ambiance - rustic and I guess the owner really liked scrapbooking by the looks of the menu and the decor. Great service, waiter and host were nice and informative.
Must try: Antipolo special dessert! You'll know why when you taste it. :)
The place was very homey and the view was breathtaking!! The waiters were very very hospitable. Everything went well with our Pizza de la Casa, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Mango Flambé. Very authentic ingredients. We didn't notice the place at first though, they should put up more signs since the place is surrounded with trees.
We drive all the way up to Antipolo just to celebrate his birthday. Good food, homey ambiance plus the spectacular panoramic view of Manila Skyline is definitely worth the travel.
Vieux Chalet means “home on top of a mountain,” and true enough, getting there was like finding a hidden treasure on top of a mountain with tropical lush lot. We took delight in a picturesque perfect view of the sunset and the city skyline. :)
A basket of bread and Fita crackers came as complimentary appetizer. The pieces were well-composed, with crisp exterior and tender crumb, and hearty enough to open our appetite for more coming up.
After 20 minutes of waiting time, Vieux Chalet’s feast of homemade goodness, the Swiss Platter (PhP 485) was served. It consisted of smoked ham, smoked bacon, homemade ricotta cheese, pate de foie, tomato provencal, shrimp gambas, and organic micro greens, with homemade bread and butter. I thought it’s a great introductory dish to Swiss cuisine because it had one of everything recommended for hors d’oeuvres. The best? Hands down, it was the shrimps, which according to the menu should really have been pink salmon, but the latter was unavailable that time. The juiciness of the tomatoes also sealed a good deal. Yum!
Cheese pizza isn’t something we would normally get excited about, but the Five-Cheese Grilled Pizza (PhP 725, Petit) here made us want to hit the floor. We were informed that this pizza would be made from scratch, and we had to wait half an hour to have it served. 20 minutes passed and we happily ate the pizza for an hour. We’re not sure how the combination of raclette, Gruyère, mozzarella, kesong puti, and cheddar cheese made a good harmony, but it legitimately blew our minds. There’s also garlic on a tangy cream cheese topped with organic arugula, all underneath the the crispy pizza crust that will make you sweat and tear with joy. So CHEESY, so good. :)
Rico handed us his custom-made hot sauce as a condiment to the pizza. I had the mistake of pouring too much on my first try, and I had to cool my mouth with enough air pressure to “blow dry.” Rico’s homemade extra hot Hot Sauce was insanely hot, the kind of spiciness that could almost take away the flavor of the food. I should have learned from the label ’cause it’s so true; it can make you say “Dimunyu!” out loud, as your tongue would be on fire. Aw!
We wanted to order more however we were too full to have a second main course. Thankfully, dessert options were not a letdown. The Swiss Chocolate Cake a la mode (PhP 285) was made with homemade Swiss chocolate cake, chocolate glaze, and homemade chocolate ice cream. It lasted maybe two minutes before it was fully engulfed into it’s new home, our bellies! :) As far as chocolate cakes go, this one is the ultimate in decadence. So if there’s a better way to say “I love you” through sweets, this would be it.
To cool and cleanse the palate, the Lemongrass Cooler (PhP 145) had a refreshing and perky flavor of lemongrass that’s a bit more fun than your average lemonade or a lemon lollipop in iced tea.
With alcohol content, on the other hand, the Frozen Lemongrass Margarita (PhP 325) had a subtle hint of tonic’s bitterness and the tangy and sweet qualities of lemongrass complementing and enhancing one another. The sugar found on the mouth of the glass brought another sweet element that helped connect the citrus flavor in the cocktail.
Vieux Chalet Swiss Restaurant in Antipolo has an elaborate menu of Swiss food and extraordinary drinks served by a deft team in swish environs. No surprise, it has garnered a top spot honors in the city.
Tried this hidden gem in Antipolo! The place can be a bit hard to find but you can always use Waze. The place serves authentic Swiss food. I forgot the exact name of the dishes we ordered but they were all excellent. This restaurant has a very home-y feel. There's a playhouse for children and there are several places where you can eat. The good thing about it is that families can have privacy. Their pizza is great and the kids loved their pasta. They served this beef dish which is very similar to the Filipino caldereta an it is really REALLY soft and flavorful. We also ordered an assortment of meats. They don't serve rice because they're really keen on keeping it authentic. They do serve bread and something which is like a hash brown. It's a great place for a family affair.
This restaurant is quite a drive, braving the traffic all the way from Paranaque, but was well worth it. The staff was friendly and the ambiance is homey, very casual and never intimidating. Started with the cream of pumpkin soup which was very good, followed by the main of Grilled Porkchop and the dessert sampler to finish it off. The city views are quite limited but nice nonetheless. Got lost a bit on the way but went home happy and satisfied :)
So it was a Labor Day, my friend and I decided to go to Antipolo. We decided to try this unassuming Swiss Restaurant, which was a little hard to find. Since it was a very spontaneous trip, we didn't have any reservations. Good thing the waiters were very accomodating. I'd give 5 stars for the service alone!
We ordered the shrimp ravioli (just because sa spinach and cheese ravioli wasn't available), the fish fillet ala susana and a pizza with some ham (per request by the friend). I especially loved the shrimp ravioli, the tomato sauce was delish. The friend loved the fish, which i found more on the salty side. But i can get pass that.
The place is lovely and very romantic. Good food, great service!
Been going here since we were in college (23 years ago!). I've always remembered their salads and meats. There was a time ate there and it was brown out, another time it was stormy.
Vieux Chalet
Home made Smoked Ham, Onion, Cheese and Oregano등이 얹혀져 있는 홈 메이드 피자입니다.
Antipolo's famous yellow mangoes, Fresh prawns and Basil on a bed of Lettuce with Vieux Chalet's special cocktail dressing
Great food and view. View can not be beaten. Had a very nice bottle of wine but only had two to choose from. Authentic tastes of European fare not just a good imitation. A little bit tricky to find so suggest having a GPS handy.

A place to find your inner peace.... A great service from a wonderful staff and most of all a great food to select . Will definitely recommend this and will surely going back here.
Hands down to their service. Based from a lot of testimonials and reviews the food they serve was great and truly i can say that it was absolutely delish. From appetizer to dessert everything was awesome. I would certainly go back and will also recommend this resto
The location is great. The view is awesome. The service is topnotch. The food feels like home!
Now for things to improve. There were just 4 tables with customers but they seem to be too busy. I wasn't given table tissue. I had to ask for water. My fork was taken away???
Nonetheless, these are little things. Rico will make you comfortable. If you wish to have more privacy, they have cabana and the table by the pool is great. But the best view is on the main house which gives you the view of Ortigas, Mandaluyong, Makati and Quezon City.
Food was absolutely heavenly. We had just gone from Pinto museum and we were excited to eat some good food. Vieux Chalet had no shortage on good food.
We ordered the garden fresh mixed vegetable salad, which was fresh and the vinaigrette had a good acidity to it. We also had their Berne Plate which had an assortment of meats. That was so good I think I ate more that I should considering it's good for 2 to 4 people.
We also enjoyed the Osso Buco. Although, I wish they had a bigger serving size for that.
Overall, the food was great and the scenery, ambience and location made it even better.

It's a beautiful morning and we're excited for our breakfast today. This new discovery is only around 20 minutes away from home, but feels like we are in a whole new different island! We arrived at exactly 9 am because Marvin Villamayor's basketball was cancelled (his excuse because he was just excited for this :-P). I remember the last 10 minutes of our ride to Vieux Chalet, I kept asking B if he was sure if we were on the right track. We're already off the road.. good thing we passed by other mountain resorts and inns which I can never imagine to be situated there. But thanks to the ever reliable GPS we arrived just in time! There's no parking space but since it's a secluded area, you can just park outside. The roads are steep, so you better be careful. As we parked our car in front of the old house, a lady in full uniform welcomed us with all smiles. The place is just perfect. It's an old house converted into a Swiss Restaurant designed with paintings, an old piano, collections of so many little bright things about the owner. We sat by the window and were amazed to see the metro skyline! If I can give a full rating just for ambiance, i'll give this restaurant a perfect 100% in no doubt. This is a perfect place for intimate conversations. We had the place all by ourselves so we took the time studying their menu. Being it a Swiss restaurant, there are a variety of cheeses being offered. But we're here for breakfast so we had first our coffee: Café a la Ricol for him, and Café Amaretto for me. His choice was so "Marvin" -- he always wanted his coffee to have a hint of mocha - sometimes it makes me wonder if he wants a chocolate drink instead. Not asking what it was, this Café ala Ricol was just perfect for his taste buds! I took my first sip on my Café Amaretto. It was perfect at first try! Then I stirred it, ended up tasting like there's so much cherry syrup that I could not stand drinking. Even B tried if this is something he can drink but he can't. He said it's like the cherry flavored cough syrup. Not sure if they used a real Amarreto or just cherry syrup but this is the first coffee in my entire life that I couldn't force myself to drink. I wish I didn't stir it so the very strong flavor should've just stayed at the bottom. But anyway, I ordered another cup, brewed this time to be safe. It was ok, very lightly flavored, nothing special. Then the food: Hungry Swiss Farmer's Breakfast for him, and Swiss Farmer's Breakfast for me. The "Hungry" version of my breakfast has homemade sausage with caramelized onions and potatoes with, it instead of my homemade bacon and ham with the best ricotta cheese! Then everything else on our platter are the same; homemade bread and butter, tomatoes provencal, fresh eggs; scrambled and sunny side up. We loved it as we loved breakfast meals. My favorite among all is the ricotta cheese and ofcourse, bacon :-P While on B's platter I would say that I loved the sausage. B said he would rate his food at 4.5 because its a perfect BREAKFAST meal for him. Moving on to the closing meal; the Mango Flabé! Unexpectedly served with fried rice cake and a separate homemade cinnamon icecream. Both sweet, but the manager seemed to have read us because we made him decide which dessert we should have. He recommended it "for a change", he said. I looove mangoes and B loves rice cake and ice cream and we both love cinnamon! Such a great piece of meal to end our Secret Swiss Escape! ????
On our way home, B and I are talking about going back to try some of their Swiss specialties, cheeses. Next time!
Brought my wife here and surprised her on our anniversary. This place is awesome, service and ambience is excellent and the food was great! I loved the honey ginger drink that I ordered they even decorated our dessert for our anniversary. Great place and great service!
How about we start with: this is one fantastic restaurant! For four reasons: the place is amazing, the view is even more amazing, the food is exceptional, and the service is fantastic! This place definitely reminds me of home - filled with wonderful art pieces and interesting furniture matched with an amazing view, everything is just perfect. We used to come here when we were kids and I can't forget what a great experience it was. The food and the place were perfect! Coming back as an adult made me appreciate this place even more. The food was even better. It was indulgent and comforting - just the way grandma and mom does it (or even better) - Carefully and thoughtfully made with love. It's quite a drive from Manila but trust me, it is so worth it. You have to try the Pate de foie and Osso Buco... Indulgent but yes, you're welcome.
Let's get straight to the point, their FOOD is amazing. I can't imagine what magic they did with the spinach on Ricotta Ravioli. It's amazing how good it taste. Not to mention their medium rare beef tenderloin, which is very fine and taste expensive.
Aside from being at home, believe me it's like home there.. The service made me feel like I'm dining in my own house. It's cute how they treat customers like friends but not too casual.
Very cool location too, but a little hard to reach when you're not familiar in antipolo. I suggest you go there on magic hour (sunset, as photographers describe) you'll be stun when looking at their windows.
Spent my birthday here last year and all I can say is IT'S PERFECT. The waiter is very nice and friendly. He was patient enough to describe the dishes, and he was even kind enough to give us recommendations! I loved their food. The place is beautiful. The scenery was perfect, best to go at night. A little bit hard to find but the travel is all worth it :)
