I never tried exotic foods before & a friend kept on sharing his experience with me everytime he goes back from vacation. I had to try it, I'm adventurous when it comes to food so I went there with high expectations (08/08/2017) and Balaw-Balaw did not disappoint me
Staff are friendly, got us the Menu immediately and u was looking through the food for the word Exotic! I ordered 4 dishes, the Kuhol sa gata, fried frogs, Adobong uko & Crocodile Sisig.
1- Fried frogs, they say it taste like chicken and I would say yes it does. It's more like a Quail bird to me texture and size wise and I like it.
2- Adobong Uko, I can't describe the taste but it was more like a small encasing stuffed with minced crab, prawn & patty. It was tasty as Adobo.
3- Kuhol sa gata, of course a lot are familiar with the taste but cooking it in gata is genius & tasty.
4- My favorite among all is the Crocodile Sisig, if you did not know it was crocs you will think it's chicken or some firm fish sisig. The sisig itself was so tasty, not sure if the crocs meat was soaked in gata or if they did add gata to the sisig. I finished the whole plate, good thing it came last or I won't be able to eat other dishes dahil sa sobrang busog ako
Thank you for such a delicious & unforgettable experience, will be back next year
