I've been to this restaurant twice. The second visit was with the entire family. Their experience proved me right when I bragged about the food. We ordered 8 or more dishes and they were all superb plus the healthy drinks that really captured my father's heart. The accommodating staff was a bonus. This restaurant was declared as the family's favorite.
My family and I always loved Cowrie ever since I was little we used to go to their branch in SM Cebu. Lami gyud siya. Also, they are very generous with their servings. There are times though where their monggos would taste like sunog.
My friends and I always love to eat out. Since most of us are working in IT Park and we love Pinoy dishes, Golden Cowrie is conveniently located near us.
The Eatventurers tried Golden Cowrie one dinner time.
It is an ideal restaurant for travelers because it carries authentic Filipino food. The meals are for sharing.
We love baked scallops the most.
Too bad the belly lechon was not available and was soldout during our visit.

Lami man gyud ui ang golden cowrie and they have been in the business for quite sometime which i have high regards with restaus like that when it comes to the longevity and they really progressed. Their food is authentically filipino. Homey feels in any outlet nila and they are priced fairly.
From their monggo soup, to appetisers, to their main dishes, food as overall is just great. I have been to their Lahug and Ayala branches. Though service is not fast depending on how busy the kitchen is, it is worth the wait. I think perhaps they need to improve on making it look more authentic Filipino restaurant by using banana leaf plates, clay pots and the likes.
Very accomodating and friendly.
Great customer service!
I would recommend this place to my friends and colleagues. Thank you for making my father happy on his birthday.
I have been to their main branch in Lahug. The crispy pata is to die for. All of their dishes actually are both mouthwatering and affordable. It tends to be filled with a lot of customers during peak hours. The ambiance is homey and with a touch of class. We used their function room. It was spacious and the hardwood partition gives an edgy look and feel.
I've been to different branches in Golden Cowrie.. Nothing Changed their food still the same perfect for every Filipino taste.. That time I really love their Monggo soup with coconut milk though it's ordinary but I really loved the taste. The rest of the viands was great craving for more Unli Rice.. Burp!
Whenever we are in Cebu it's imperative that we dine at Golden Cowrie(thankfully, there's one at S'Maison now). We have seen the chain improve. The service is usually superb, but the one serving us that night was a bit rattled. At any rate, we still enjoyed our dinner. The food still tastes good and for a weeknight, it was full, so I guess they are still doing fine. Kudos!
Love. The. Food. We may be just hungry but I know when I experience great food. Their grilled liempo is a must-try. Their dinuguan is also a surprise. They maintained the original taste and still making an impression. Most of the time restaurants focus on their signature taste - losing the essence of the dish.
Admire. The. Place. Spacious and well-lit. I love finding unique items in any place i stay: The "puso" themed lights for Golden Cowrie.
I would love to try some dessert next time.👌🏻
Food is very good, price is very attractivr but service is TERRIBLE. They will make you wait outside even if there are lots of empty table. And worse, they did not know when to serve starter. They served it after dessert! I went there 2 times because most restaurants were close for the holy week and the same thing happened. If they can rectify these 2 issues, then this restaurant would be very good
Golden Cowrie is an institution. When it comes to great-tasting Filipino dishes, Golden Cowrie is the first thing that comes to mind.
I appreciate how theyve expanded their menu over the years. Amd despite the tough local competition, the brand has remained the same. We still enjoy the same top-notch taste, service and quality that is evident in all its branches.
My all-time favorite is their crispy pata, their fish fingers, their delicious pancit canton, and most of all, their adobong talong.
If you want to enjoy a feast with the whole family - without having to shell out a fortune - Golden Cowrie is the best place for you.
This place serves authentic Filipino dishes in Cebu. The flavor of their food is very local and the price is right. The servings usually it's valid for 2 to 3 persons. My personal favorites are Calamares, sisig & tuna panga. They also serve some local street foods. The ambience of golden cowrie is very homey and the place is well lighted.
Service was awesome. They made sure we were satisfied with the food. Ambiance was ok too with perfect lighting. Service crews were prompt. Will surely go back.
Cebu's popular restaurant caters to lovers of Filipino food. In terms of service, they are the best. Very organized and the staff are well trained. Love the Eggplant Adobo and Baked Scallops.
