Went after dinner on a Saturday night and was surprised that the place was not packed. Good for us! Great alternative to the usual Starbucks or CBTL. I claimed 2 Booky Deals and only paid a total of ₱179 for 2 White Cold Brew and a Chocolate Chip Cookie, both of which I have ordered before in another branch and thoroughly enjoyed.
I asked the cookie to be served warm and it was deliciously sweet, chewy in the center and slightly crisp on the edges as I expected. Yummy and a steal at ₱49 instead of ₱80 via the Booky App. I would be willing to pay the full price anytime though, I’ve added this cookie to my favorites list.
As for the cold brew, you have a choice of black or white and having a sweet tooth, I always go for the white variant. This time I even asked for one of the 2 to have double the syrup (standard is 20ml) and they accommodated it. It’s perfectly fine without the additional syrup but sometimes I really like my coffee sweeter than strong. Regular price is ₱130 each but Buy 1 Get 1 via Bookyapp.
The other deal is for the Flat White, though I didn’t avail it this visit, pay only ₱99 instead of ₱170. So all in all there are 3 ongoing deals in the Booky App for Toby’s Estate.
The place is small but charming with pretty floral / tropical murals on their walls and sturdy beautiful wooden furniture/ tables with comfortable couches on each side of the room.
I see on the menu board that they don’t only serve coffee and pastries in this branch but other savory dishes too though I have yet to try them.
I’ve tried the famous Calamansi Pie before and yes, it’s good. So is the Pistachio one. The Original and Banana Bucky’s as well.
(Another) Tip: Download their free Toby’s Estate app like I did to immediately receive a 20% discount e-voucher and also so you can start earning points. You can input my referral code: DDJGV4. I don’t really know what you and I are gonna get when you do so LOL, but I’m assuming/hoping, we’ll both get extra points hehe. Nothing to lose!
One of my favorite coffee shops in Manila. I love ordering the dessert, espresso, and the flat white. Ambiance is cozy...
The only thing I don’t like about this place is the service. People are apathetic and slow. I suggest they get customer experience training.:)
long black is very nice and strong. just the way coffee should be. anyone who likes milder coffee can easily add water but those who love them strong can't do anything with watered down bland coffee right? nice that they have food (pasta and sandwiches) as well as the faster to prepare pies.
Very nice piccolo latte! From the food menu, I didn’t try much, but Toby’s salmon bagel is extremely delicious. You can choose bagel among three types of bagels they have, and cream cheese (also three types).
My good friend and I came from a food/drinking event at a nearby restaurant which was done before midnight and knowing me I would want to take in something for the road. Thus, Toby's Estate.
Both of us read Chai Chocolate on the overhead menu, sounded good so, my friend ordered the hot prep and I, the cold one.
Yes, Chai Chocolate was good. It had this light spice flavor that, I think, is better off when served hot. Good one, Toby's Estate.
Went for dinner last night and I was in love with their Bucky Original! The chocolate is melting in my mouth!!! For our meal we order Mushroom Pasta and Braised Chicken In Wine. Meal was delicious but nothing special and the portion kinda small. I’m sure I will back for their cake again.
Toby’s Estate has been always on top of my most favorite coffee shops in Metro Manila. Aside from their delicious food and great legit coffee, I also like their Hot Chocolate.
St. Louis in High Street Central might be my #1 when it comes to the Best Hot Chocolate, but Toby’s Estate’s came close as the 2nd best on my list.
I like the rich texture and the flavor that’s not overly sweet. The chocolate flavor is more prominent than the others. Bottomline is - the consistency of their drinks (not just with their coffee, but all of their drinks).
I also tried the bagels on this visit and I like to pair it with cream cheese. Go for the sundried tomato bagels and jalapeno cheddar cheese and you’ll surely love it too!
This place is conducive to do work - it’s quiet and has a few outlets around
I have been watching some Youtube blogs lately and a certain blogger has been singing high praises for Toby's estate in Manila. I decided to try out the coffee shop and restaurant over at Shangri-la at the Fort. I heard one of the most popular drinks was the Flat White. It was very good. I drink a lot of coffee and it did not seem too strong. The White milk mixed in with the espresso was more delightful when mixed in with their brown sugar. I also had a Tuna melt, and that was good too. It was the right portion, but was a little messy. The Mini potato chips included was interesting, have not seen that before in the states. One thing I did notice was that flies were all around my table. I think it would be a wise investment to get a door fan to blow out flies that come in to the restaurant. Service was good and attentive. Not a problem there. Overall 4 stars, I wish I knew about this place sooner in my latest trip.
Love the ambience. A lot of people there were reading or on their laptops.
The Iced Mocha was perfect to go with the Bruce Bogtrotter cake. The Capuccino was delicious. They offer Splenda for people who can't take sugar.

Blueberry Bagel and Carrot Cake dabest!
For coffee, you can't go wrong with Flat White or Mocha. Ambience of all Toby's is always good for a laidback afternoon.
Price point would be expectedly higher compared to local, more common coffee chains but value for money sya.
I ordered their latte, which cost me exactly 178.50 pesos. It was really good, in my opinion. It sort of had a blend of both roast and acidic flavor so best of both worlds!
For coffee lovers, I really can't recommend it enough. Even got to see a love confession there when I went XD
Would go here again. Worth every peso!
if you’re looking for a well blended coffee and pies, this is the place. if your looking for a nice place to hangout and chill and not overcrowded coffee shop i’ll recommend this place to you

For all the coffee addict out there this one is for you.
I usually have salmon & cream cheese bagel, & a glass of fresh orange juice here. However, during this visit, I tried to deviate. Had their roasted chicken with a glass of fresh lemon juice instead.
The roasted chicken came with cranberry compote, roasted garlic mashed potatoes & sauteed kale. The chicken, for me, was well-roasted & still had its juiciness. It went well with the not so sweet cranberry compote. The sauteed kale wasn't oily too! What I think should be improved on is the mashed potatoes. I found it to be rather too salty. The supposed healthy meal is made less healthy by that. 🙁 Will give this a try again and hopefully, it is a completely healthy one.
I was at first hesitant to give their fresh lemon juice a try thinking it'll be too sour compared to my already trusted orange juice. But no regrets! This is my fave lemon juice by far! No acid reflux 👍
This is by far our favourite place to have a coffee in BGC. Friendly, attentive staff and great consistency in their coffee. Only problem is resisting getting extra calories from the cabinet.
If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful that served great coffee in BGC, head over at Toby’s!
Its a good place to do a one on one or a small group meeting. I always go for their flat white and calamansi cheesecake!
Yumz! ☕️

Had coffee and dessert here one rainy evening after having dinner at Maisen. I had Flat White and fiance had Long Black. We also ordered pistachio cheesecake and that original brownie like thingy from their pastry display. We thought their coffee was average. We’ve had better somewhere around bgc. The brownie thingy was so so. The winner here is the pistachio cheesecake. It was divine!! I thought it’s the best cheesecake I’ve had in my life 😍 I initially thought it was too expensive for Php250 a slice, but the serving size is big and you can taste how freshly baked it is with the balance taste between pistachios and creaminess of the cheesecake. It felt like heaven! I could be exaggerating but it’s just really good for me 😍 will probably be back to have this again and try savory items from their menu. Oh and service was quick too.
Toby’s always has my favourite coffee and love how they’re so consistent (except for shang ri la edsa branch...). I always love their iced latte and if i want something weaker or cheaper i go for their white cold brew.Their food is quite good and i really like their apple pie. The one i can’t live without though its the speculoos waffle!
They have the best coffee. Latte, mocha, flat white, none of their coffee ever disappointed me. The coffee beans they have there are also has good quality and taste.
This branch offers nothing but chill, laid-back ambience. You can get some work and study done here, and it's hard to forget their remarkable coffee, especially their Iced Flat White and Latte.
Dad wanted to try their coffee, as they don’t have Tobys in his part of the US. He found the cup a bit too small, he was ok with the cold brew. But he wanted something stronger.
Got the pistachio cheesecake to go and it’s just really soooo good.
Loved that this Toby's branch has more dining options than in the other branches. I ordered the mushroom pasta which was delicious! I would love to try their coffee next time :)
When Toby’s Estate launched in the Philippines, I honestly pre-judged it as something like Starbucks or CBTL – you know, places where people don’t actually enjoy just plain coffee. The concoctions mattered more than the coffee itself. One evening, we were walking down the High Street area and thought we could sit down and read our books. We decided to try the Toby’s Estate branch at Shangri-La the Fort.
We ordered: Long Black, Cold Brew, Bucky's brownie, and Wheat Bagel and Cream cheese
At the first sip, my husband’s eyes lit up just a teeny bit, and handed the cup over to me and said, “You’ll like this.” He makes our daily coffee so he knows. Indeed, I loved it. I have no idea about how much better these single-origin coffees are, but all I know is that it is properly extracted.
So this was yesterday , a Pigoutsundays Day.
You would not believe the amount of food our piggery wipes out on weekends. But that’s another story
Anyway, where was I?
Oh yes now I remember. Pigoutsundays yesterday. We started lunch at Zao .
Then they ordered their favorite bespoke cofffee at Starbucks.
Then finally settled and chilled at Toby’s Estate where they ordered chocolate chip cookies, bucky’s brownies and that beautiful chocolate cake with thick chocolate ganache frosting (bruce bogtrotter, thanks Kristine) which was a doppelganger of Wildflour’s.
Handsome hubby and I split our hot mocha and tried to eat as little as possible of the sugar and chocolate treats in front of us.
Torture!
Toby’s Estate continues to pave the way for third wave coffee here in the Philippines. They continue to expand their brand in small stores to bigger cafes like this one in Shangri-La Fort.
After a workout, I rushed here, famished and had one of their temporary offering, Berry Crunch. It was a refreshing bowl of different fruits and cookies. Toby’s has been experimenting since the past year by having pop up menus.
I also had a pair up of savory and filling Chicken Curry Pie with their popular cup of Latte in their own Salcedo blend.
My officemate and I decided to drop by Toby’s Estate as she was craving for coffee (flat white) and I was craving for some Buckys brownie.
I read in an article- “If a flourless chocolate cake and a fudge brownie made some babies, it would be called a bucky."
I’m in love with their buckys & cream ❤️ And guess what? You can request for a scoop of ice cream and make it a buckys ala mode 🤗 🍦🍫
I also ordered their Tea of the day (iced) and it was good. I even went back to try their other tea flavors.

I tried their White Cold brew last Tuesday with Cindy S. It’s just 99php until the end of this week (Sunday)!
It’s kind of strong as expected but it’s not acidic! I actually liked it. ☕️
You still have 2 days to avail this at 99php! ❤️ See you?
One of our favorite 3rd wave coffee shop. We go for their cappuccino- perfect temperature for brewing and with just the right ratio of milk.

My SO and I were scouring for a cafe with Wi-Fi and outlets (yes, plural). After about an hour, we spotted Toby's.
We ordered:
1. Lemon juice- please note, NOT lemonade. Straight up lemon juice. You may add sugar because they have some on their tables.
2. Scrambled eggs on toast- not as simple as it seems. You get fluffy buttery scrambled eggs with mushrooms on brioche. Excellent.
Going back for the other breakfast items.
Definitely the best flat white so far. I've tried a few and I keep coming back for their coffee. I like this branch for the comfy seats and lighting. Good for meetings and not that crowded.
Toby’s lives up to its hype. Really good coffee with a nice cozy space.
I had a cup of hot mocha. The coffee was strong enough. The chocolate was not sweet so it did not ruin the taste. I will be coming back for more!
Great coffee as usual at Toby's. Plugs on couch seats on the periphery. Only downside is there's no wifi.
Calamansi pie is a personal favorite. As are the Belgian waffles. A bit pricey though.

One of my more preferred Toby's Estate branch around. It's usually busy but it's okay. It's a nice place to chill or do your assignment or project or business stuff while sipping great coffee.
I don't know what's with their bagels but it's really masarap, AS IN. The staff are very attentive and knows their coffee very well. Try to ask them for suggestions instead of your usual order 👌🏻 I had their newest local blend for Flat White and it was superb!
Plain White Bagel + Classic Cream Cheese
Black Sesame Bagel + Jalapeño Cream Cheese
Bagel: P55.00
Cream Cheese: P35.00
Home to some of the best sandwiches around the city, Toby's Estate continues to wow us with food that fills the soul. (For a bit of a hefty price)
I find their coffee to be a bit flat, so I'm glad I've found something I can enjoy here.
Consistently good and service crew are always nice. My fave branch and it's great that the location is just a stone's throw away from our office.
After a very heavy dinner, my H2B and I walked around the mall portion of Shangri-la at the Fort to help the food go down... We explored a bit and ended up at Toby's Estate for a nightcap. The branch was a bit smaller than their other stand alone stores, but it has the same pleasing feel.
I ordered my usual Iced Mocha and somehow my H2B found space for one of their Bucky's. It felt a little weird when you converse because your voice sounds so loud!😂 The staff were okay, pretty efficient.
Great place, food and coffee! Love the latte, one of the best I've had and also their sausage roll.
Favorite chill spot in the busy streets of BGC ❤
This establishment opens early so it's a great option when looking to grab a quick breakfast before work. I had a salmon and cream cheese bagel and my usual cup of hot mocha. The bagel (Php 295) was good but it didn't provide good value for money. The hot mocha was amazing as always-- perfect proportions of milk, coffee, and chocolate.
Toby’s Estate is one of my favorite coffee shops in the metro. I love that its coffee is not overly bitter and that its hot mocha is a taste of heaven. With a bunch of drinks to choose from, I usually stick with my usuals—flat white and mocha. That was till I had chai addiction. I always end up ordering anything with chai. And when I spotted it on Toby’s Estate’s menu board, I had to order it.

Coffee was so perfect last Friday afternoon. After taking care of 5 settlements on the deals that I have at the office we needed to chill and relax. As we got a hefty lunch, we felt like just having a cup of latte and Capuccino (for my mate). I love the taste of their cafe latte. 🌹This is what I usually order here and in Century Mall before getting inside the movie house. I have tried from their Salcedo Village branch before their Bruce Bogtrotter (Salted Caramel Cake) which was good. Should try pasta next time.😊⚘
After trying the crabwich at Ooma. I need to find something sweet or anything that can eliminate the "malansang" taste of the crabwich. That's why I went to Toby's Estate Coffee Roasters, which is located at the vicinity of Shangri-la Fort in BGC.
Few customers were dining inside the bright and artsy coffee store. Cozy, indeed!
I got a Chewy Oatmeal Cookie for Php165.00 paired with Hot Chai Chocolate for Php160.00. I've waited around 5 minutes before the staff served the crafted hot drink (yeah with design) together with the cookie.
🍫 Chai Chocolate - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
"Very appetizing at first glance. The beautiful latte is thick and creamy. Not that "nakakaumay and nakakasawa"
🍫 Chewy Oatmeal Cookie - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"Literally, it is chewy! The best thing about the cookie is the raisins which enhances the flavor. Best to be eaten while it's hot."
Overall, I had a wonderful time sipping my hot chocolate.
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤
Their coffee is the best. Pair it with Traviata (baked eggs with cherry tomatoes with basil) and your day will be complete! So yummy! Service and atmosphere wise is also okay 👌🏼
Nice ambiance overall with great coffee! I enjoy going to coffee shops to relax and read, but Toby's Estate is almost always full so it's rare to get a good table! I prefer just picking up one of their coffees to go at the Serendra location.
What makes a good grilled cheese sandwich??
According to the www, you should be able to choose the right type of bread and cheese. It is the most important thing you need to know. Once you've figured out the right combination, you'll have the perfect grilled cheese sandwich. And by that, you will know the difference between a good and a not so good grilled cheese sandwich.
Also, according to another article, it's more than just choosing the right bread and cheese. The acidity of the cheese also matters. The American Chemical Society explained that the cheese must have the "correct acidity" as this will affect the texture and how the cheese will melt (when the calcium and protein elements of the different types of cheese react together).
"The secret to getting the perfect cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich is to find one with the right pH to perfectly balance out the calcium and protein structure."
Anyway, for me, the perfect grilled cheese sandwich is something that is comforting. It's the ultimate comfort food!!!! It should have the "ahhhhhhhhh! *kilig" effect. I want the same exact grilled cheese from the movie Chef. The bread should be perfectly toasted, there must be that "crunchy sound" when you bite into it, cooked with just an acceptable amount of butter (not too much that it becomes too oily), if possible, no mayonnaise (or at least very minimal amount added). I don't care how much cheese is added, I just want it to be cheesy without being too salty and I want the stretchy cheese when I slice it.
So yes, I currently have a "Grilled Cheese obsession". It's back again and I want, no I need to try all the grilled cheese available!!
When I first had this "obsession", Toby's was already included on my list but it was only just recently that I was able to finally try it.
GRILLED CHEESE (295). Gruyere, Cheddar, and Parmesan in a ciabatta. Served with housemade potato chips and tomato compote.
Although not the best, TE's version is pretty good. But still far far from Borough's and Wildflour's. This is not a grilled cheese sandwich, just a sosyal Cheese Sandwich (blame the movie Chef!!).
Bread: Not toasted. Soft.
Cheese: I liked the cheese, it's not too much. Just the right cheesy goodness.
Others:
- The potato chips on the side was good though. Crispy and not salty.
- The tomato compote was weird? They should have just added tomato soup instead of the "compote".
And of course, no visit will be complete without an order of the HOT MOCHA and CALAMANSI PIE. I've tried it a lot of times already and there was never a time that I did not enjoy it. It's really really good. I was excited to let Ony finally try it.
I love Toby's Mocha!! It's one of the best. I love the balance of bitterness from the espresso and the sweetness of the chocolate. But I guess I was a little OA because although the Mocha was still good, there wasn't something extraordinary or special about the mocha during our visit. Not sure why!! :( Ony even joked that his mocha recipe is better than this one. Also the pie! Sadly, the Calamansi Pie wasn't as great, too. I remember loving it before but there's something off with the one we had. The consistency and taste was weird. Even the table beside us didn't finished their Calamansi Pie.
Toby's Estate is my favorite coffee shop as I have written again and again. Their SM Aura branch used to be the most accessible to me until they opened at Shangri-La BGC. The one in Makati is bigger and more spacious but there's something with the wall painting in their Shangri-La at the Fort branch that appeals so much to me.
Sausage roll+Steak n' Mushroom pie+ Pistachio cheesecake+Cappucino+ the ambiance of this place is love ❤
No photo of the roll and pie, was too hungry ✌🏻😜
My favorite branch of Toby's!! It's quiet, with ample space and lighting, good bathrooms and cute wall decor. You can't really go wrong with their coffee, but I like to stick to their flat whites. For food - I like the LES original bagel with chives cream cheese. The arugula salad is also very good! It's a little pricey, but is a good [healthy] treat to yourself.
Note: If you're used to the branches in SM Aura or Ecotower, this one is a serviced restaurant... i.e. no buzzers and refill-it-yourself water dispensers. You still order at the counter though. But because of the extra service rendered, expect your bill to be padded by the service charge.
I Love Cafe Mocha of Toby's Estate for
me they have the best cafe mocha.. tried some cakes tonight, Salted Caramel Chocolate cake and Carrot
Cake. Both were good! Right texture and consistency, the sweetness was not overwhelming too. Slices were bigger that the usual serving but at 250 pesos per slice, have to spend some more then. Service was polite and friendly! Something to work on is their lightning! It was too bright! Other than that I will go back again for my cafe mocha addiction!
Our favorite branch, thus far.
The coffee and food are superb, as always. Our favorites include the iced mocha, Dutch eggs, chorizo pasta, and of course, the cakes and pies.
Love the relaxing and dog-friendly ambiance.
Talk coffee to me, baby.... Uhmmm Toby's Estate... Okay that was lame...we're still cool, yeah?
When it comes to coffee, no one comes close to the Toby's. They make the meanest cup of joe! I fell in love with Toby after my first sip of their mocha. I fell hard and fast.
I got giddy when i found out that they're opening a branch at Shang. I don't have to speed walk to Aura to get my Mocha. I'm digging this branch as it is spacious compared to the ones I frequent and yes it is prettier than the rest. Easy on the eyes and very conducive to relaxing. The color palate resembles a bed & breakfast i see in movies. And oh, they play good music - a lil Florence and Amy is always good.
| Chai Latte (Php 140)
I know what you're thinking...the opening statement doesn't relate my drink of choice. I wanted to get Flat White but i needed to get some zzzz's hence i picked Chai. And besides, Toby can do no wrong, i firmly believe that they can make a mean chai latte.
I was right! The chai latte is dynamite. Aromatic, hmmmm...me likey cinnamon. Perfect proportions of chai and milk. I liked it so much, i finished my drink in two big gulps, i kid you not!
Let's try this one more time.... Talk coffee to me, baby....Toby's Estate (this I say in my bedroom voice)
Peace Out!

The place is cozy and well-lit, brimming with a welcoming aura to whoever comes in. Their servers are also courteous and are quick to respond whenever called. Wish they could have a bigger space though.
I went to the newly opened Toby's estate store in Shangri-la BGC. Luckily, there was a promo buy one take one on their coffee. Very very lucky! 😋
The servers were very accommodating and trying to find us seats since the restaurant was full. The restaurant was well lit with nicely decorated interior.
I ordered calamansi pie (P199) which I would say that it gave me disappointment at first because it was short and super thin but the taste did NOT disappoint. It in a form of a gelatin cream like consistency with graham and whipped cream on top and a little slice of calamansi. The taste was sour, it seemed like they placed generous amounts of calamansi. This dish is really worth it and a MUST order!
Next, I ordered cafe latte (P140). I could really taste the bitterness in there coffee. It doesn't seem to be diluted with water and the caffeine really kicks in after a few sips. Haha. 😄
