After so many times passing by this restaurant, had the chance to dine here.
We've had:
a. Grilled Scallops
This is sooo good. Scallops are a little bit small, however, the ones we've got were fresh and succulent. It is grilled with garlic and butter. It's so flavorful! I can even eat the entire serving myself.
b. Kare Kareng Baka
We've had big chunks of tender beef and some chunks of fat or cow's skin which is also tender. I wished they add more veggies.
c. Ube Halo Halo Espesyal
We were surprised with the amount of serving of this halo halo. It is good for 3-4 persons per serving. You'll really taste the ube from the ice. The texture of the ice becomes thick and sticky when it melts. The whole serving is more on the flavored ice than the other ingredients. I only got langka, nata de coco, a few bits of banana and ube halaya.
Anyway, minus 1 star because of the service. The place is not crowded and busy yet. But then, we still have to ask the crew twice or thrice for the things we need.
Lots of people eat here that's why you'll have to come here before the peak time of supper. We love the crispy pata who pinoy doesn't? We also love the sour with a bit of sweetness of their Sinigang beef tadyang. 😊
Chicken halang halang my favorite .. their halox2 is good too .. unfortunately they don't have garlic rice here :( .. but still enjoyed the food
Like other Kuya J restaurants, there’s waiting time to get seated here. That’s a hassle but it at least means that people are lining up to dine.
Food is good as always. Price is mid-range. Staff are friendly. The view and vibe from this mall itself makes the experience even better.

we ate here on a weekend. store closes at 11pm and we arrived at about quarter to 10. we placed advance orders while waiting for an available table for 11pax. since were a big group, we ordered a lot of items, sinigang na baboy, fried daing na bangus, sisig, fried and roasted chicken, bicol express, sinigang na tadyang ng baka, kaldereta, crispy pata, chopsuey, pinakbet, fruit shakes, and about 5 platters of rice. all were very delicious especially sinigang na baboy. we were suprised upon checking the bill which only totalled less than 6000. we were expecting to pay around 8000 for all the food that weve ordered. will definitely come back here just bec of the excellent food and super affordable price.
only negative feedback I can give is the slow service. we waited around 30mins after taking our seats at our table for the foods to be served, even though weve already placed our orders about 30mins before being seated. also, we were the last customers at that time coz they're about to close in an hour since we arrived, but it seems like everyone's busy doing something in their kitchen. while we were already eating, we had a shortage of rice so we decided to order another 2 platters, which we waited 15mins just for it to be served!
We took out our order (lechon kawali, ube halo-halo, sinigang na baboy & grilled scallops), everything was delicious! I really love their ube halo-halo, it was perfect and thick like ice cream. Price is reasonable. Kuya J is one of the best Filipino restaurants.
Overall, I only gave 4 because service was slow and staffs were unattentive.
I've heard good feedback on this restaurant so we tried it here in Venice Grand Canal branch. And they were right. Had a great experience at this restaurant. Though we waited for quite a while to get a place, but it was worth the wait. Food tastes great with sufficient quantity. Customer service is surprisingly good knowing that there's quite a crowd. Still they were able to manage and provide good service to customers. We ordered for pansit canton and sotanghon, which were really tasty. As well as sinigang which has the right sourness that I'm looking for in a sinigang. We had chopsuey also since I love veggies. We ordered fried chicken as well since we had lots of kids in our group. And it won't be complete without the crispy pata. It is really crispy and yummy. Therefore, this restaurant is highly recommended, as per my review and experience.
We went here on my Mom’s birthday and we were assisted by the branch manager. He was very courteous and accomodating. The food tastes so good! We ordered Kare Kare, Crispy Pata and their Ube Halo Halo.
Gave them a 4 for their Sinigang na tadyang ng baka it was sooooo yum! Though for the many times I’ve been here service can be frustrating especially on busy days but let’s give them a break cause they are proactive when it’s not super busy.
Kuya J? It's budget friendly Filipino restaurant that serves authentic pinoy dishes. The verdict of our orders?:

This is a late review because this Kuya J branch was not previously listed in Zomato. We wanted to have a Filipino dish fill during that time when we wandered aimlessly at the mall and decided to finally try Kuya J. Since it wasn't really that warm out, we decided to sit al fresco. For these types of resto, we usually give them a first impression based on how their sisig fared. So we ordered Sizzling Sisig w/ Egg (Php205) coupled with Hearty Chicken Soup (Php225). Their version of sisig could use a little more crisp. Their soup though was very unique tasting! They used coconut milk as substitute for the broth. The price for both dishes were wallet friendly and the portions were enough for us to have some of the food to go. Will definitely come back.
