The service and food is just as outstanding as the original restaurant in Quezon City. Whilst the 'secret garden' ambience would be difficult to replicate in BGC, they have managed to bring some of the 'olde world' feel without it clashing with the hip modern city.
Excellent food, a great special date place.
The same old world charm, attention to detail and great taste as the original Horseshoe resto. Am so happy it's now in BGC, a perfect venue for never ending conversations with good food and wine.
We wanted to reserve a table at the one on Horseshoe Drive like we did last year (because we had a celestial experience) but they were closed on the date we wanted. I got a reply that they have a new restaurant in BGC. We wouldn't have gone all the way there from Eastwood (where we live) if it were any other restaurant with a new branch... Alas! Sure, it's at a condo building surrounded by metal towers which wasn't what we're looking for (somewhere hidden and unassuming) but everything was just as amazing.
The staff and the service, the feel, the flavours!!! Extraordinary. No other restaurant in the metro comes close.
Thank you to Chef Kevin and Lemuria BGC Team for preparing the same menu we had on our wedding day, a year ago, in their main branch. Still as perfect as we remembered --- superb food, perfect ambiance and impeccable service. Hoping to celebrate this tradition for years to come! Cheers!
Super service - great wine bar!
I'll definitely come back.
Had a great time in Lemuria BGC. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Food was exceptional also! Fave would be the chicken roulede. The steak was also okay but the potato purée that was served with it was divine! My man made a good decision on choosing this place to have our pre-anniversary dinner.
One of the Christmas parties I had recently were held here at Lemuria, a fine dining establishment that serves mostly French and Mediterranean cuisine. This is now their second branch, the first is a home turned restaurant in Horseshoe, Quezon City.
The place is plain yet sophisticated looking. It’s a relatively small dining area, approximately for 40 guests only. They have a function room good for 15 people.
I had the 6-course menu for around Php 1,700 all-in. It’s filling, the stretch of dishes are worth the price. It starts with an Amuse Bouche, a bite-sized hors-d'oeuvre. That night the kitchen served a combination of cherry tomato and cheese in balsamic vinaigrette.
Instead of a fresh duo of Oysters as a starter, I requested for an alternative. They served me instead of their best dish that night, a delicious pair of tasty Tomato and Shrimp appetizer.
On soup, Squash and Saffron was a unique blend of flavors in a bowl. It also had light Swiss cheese.
Crab Cakes didn’t impress me though, especially its too sweet tomato salsa and apple cabbage slaw. The cakes were rather plain, nothing I’d expect from a fancy restaurant.
Berry Sorbet was served to cleanse my palate, which was pretty much all ice.
Anyway, the meat arrived next. And at this time I was rather full already. I guess part of the reason was the waiting time in between plates. Kurobuta Pork Belly, a slowly braised imported pork was as expected. It was a savory, lightly seasoned dish. It came with sarladaise potatoes, roasted dried fruits, and mushrooms in a red wine reduction.
On a final note was Lemuria’s signature Cheesecake. It’s two kinds of cheese on one plate, rich and creamy. It’s topped beautifully with strawberry compote and mango coulis.
Lemuria also has ala carte on their menu. A 9 course is available as well. This branch is located at The Plaza, somewhere in the middle of Bonifacio Global City.
A fine dining experience.
It's not only the food that is well prepared, the the entire dining itself. I loved the flavor viands we ate here.
Everyone knows Lemuria had opened a branch in QC, but they also just opened one here in Arya Plaza. If you want to experience what fine dining was meant to be, then this is where you should be!
It’s definitely a far cry from what many are used to. Service takes its time, and you are expected not to gobble down your food but to savor each and every bite. They serve the most exquisite of meals, such as their Foie Gras, Sea Bass, Duck Leg, and Braised Lamb offerings. These are names you’d only hear at top-rate restaurants, and Lemuria definitely is one. None of the ingredients used here are pre-packed or frozen — everything is made from scratch for your unbridled indulgence!
Review as of August 2018
The name whirls me away to a romantic chateau surrounded by lush evergreen in Horseshoe Village, Quezon City. There are many important occasions celebrated in this space—anniversaries and birthdays just to name a few—owing to the restaurant’s private and intimate dining experience. News of a second branch in BGC immediately piqued my curiosity; how would Lemuria translate the exclusivity and intimacy of its restaurant in its new metropolitan neighborhood?
The new branch, surrounded by concrete and glass panels, is worlds away from the original outlet and yet still manages to exude the charm and warmth of the original. The proprietress, Mrs. Marina Schroeder, likens the new branch to a country home and fills the space with her personal touches to achieve that same feeling you get from the Quezon City branch—a place you go to for something special (by the way, the restaurant strictly enforces a dress code for any patron: men must come in collared shirts, and strictly no one is allowed in wearing slippers!)
Here's a list of the dishes that I've tried here, recommendations are marked with a star (⭐):
- Foie Gras Trio
- Braised Lamb and Apricot Galette ⭐
- Seabass ⭐
- Duck leg Confit with Cassoulet
- Beef Bourguignon
- Lemuria Cheesecake ⭐
Amazing food, excellent service! Lemuria (BGC) deserves more than the current 3.2 rating.
Must try: Oysters, Crab and Rice (risotto), Sweet Flowers of Spring
My friend had her birthday here tonight and it was nothing short of wonderful :) Staff were so friendly, trained, and attentive. You can tell they are passionate in their work. Food was excellent. Ambiance was good- place is clean and well-maintained, with nice soft music playing in the background.
Availed of Lemuria's 6-course degustation from Deal Grocer for Php1,450 per person. The meal includes amuse bouche (cured duck), fresh oysters two ways (in mignonette sauce, and deep fried in tempura batter), soup of the day, pan fried barramundi, strawberry sorbet, twice cooked pork belly, and a slice of opera cake. Everything tasted great except for the twice cooked pork belly, not a fan of figs and apricot which came with the dish. The portions were also too small. Service and ambiance were both excellent.
Very good staff, interesting collection of wines. Food is almost perfect but if I was to be fussy Wagyu cheek was delicious bit the sauce lacked the punch to match the beef and hydroponic tomatoes lack flavour. Overall lovely atmosphere and good food. Nice option instead of 210° which has really gone downhill recently.
