Went here for a quick breakfast. Enjoyed my chocolate banana buttermilk pancake. I was actually overwhelmed with choices. Turns out I can choose between: 1) 2 or 4 pancake layers, 2) blueberry and banana, 3) for each fruit: caramel or chocolate.
Love the black coffee—it did not taste burned or overwhelmingly bitter.
The coffee has double espresso which is really good! It has just the right amount of sweetness.

There is more than just amazing coffee here at caravan black. I was surprised that they serve healthy savory dishes that does not compromise the taste. When you're on a diet, you cut off some of the salt, sugar and carbs so the dish are definitely less appetizing but the good thing is, the dishes served here are definitely healthy and tasty. Like how they substitute adlai for rice to the signature grain bowls and stuff them all with huge servings so each bowls are definitely filling.
We started off with the Cheesy Spinach and Mushroom Dip (395php) from their small bites list. It has spinach, mushroom, caramelized onion, cream cheese and they use sourdough bread. This one is good for sharing.
The signature grain bowls we had were the following:
1. Naked Chorizo 360Php
house made naked chorizo, 7-miunte egg, kimchi seasonal grain mix, citrusy kale, house made pickled radish and shallots
2. Lamb Adobo 400php
Lamb Adobo, scrambled egg with tomatoes and onions, house made atchara and mixed grains
3. Smoked Salmon and Garlic Yogurt 430php
Norwegian smoked salmon, 7 minute egg, sautéed garlic and onion grain mix, garlic yogurt, house made roasted tomatoes, citrusy kale and shallots
I definitely enjoyed the Chorizo as it suits my taste less the guilt after finishing an entire bowl. The Lamb is also good, the meat is tender and there is no gamey taste. Also, the Smoked Salmon that has the citrusy flavor to match the fresh fish meat.
Since I wanted to try the dessert, I also had the Caravan French Toast made of Croissant French toast, local Greek style yogurt, berry compote, honey, seasonal house made seed and fruit granola. it does seem like a breakfast meal though but is also a nice palate cleanser. I love the fresh and lively composition of the toast.
Well don't forget the coffee. The story behind the name was actually how these coffees were transported and they describe it via the interiors of the coffee shop. Overall, love the ambience and the service. They source coffee beans from brazil and other parts the Philippines such as Bukidnon. They make good, non-acidic coffees so I enjoyed them definitely. One thing I recommend is the Localmotion - an espresso with coffee jelly, milk and honey syrup.
They had me at Miami Vice. Nice place to work or just have coffee. Their scones arent bad as well. Normally would have other variants of coffee but Miami Vice happens to be the default.
Super love this place talaga! The ambience of the place was very cozy with its classy monochrome theme, and it's the only dog-friendly café around BGC! The drinks were also good, and the staff were very friendly and gave us a lot of customizable options for our beverages.
They even gave our Coco a small water bowl for her to drink from, which we really appreciated 💕 keep it up!

One thing I love about Caravan Black Coffee is that they built this place with the goal to satisfy their customers. They wanted the place to be a cafe because that way, each transaction would be organic. It makes it the perfect place to go to when you want to relieve some stress because good service is waiting for you along with good coffee and food ofc. Good thing it's located in the heart of BGC.
I can't go one day without caffeine in my system so I'm always up for trying out new coffee places around town. I have been in the building quite a few times but this is the first time I tried Caravan Black Coffee. I'm glad to say I'll be back more often when I'm in the area. Why? Because their coffee is blended the way I want it to be and their food isn't only delicious, it's healthy as well. No wonder they've been doing business for years now, anything you buy here is actually worth your money.
For their coffee, I got to taste the Localmotion (Php 175.00 - iced): which my companion ordered. If you're a sweet tooth who loves strong coffee, you're gonna love this as much as I did. I mean, it already had strong espresso yet they still added coffee jelly. If you're not sure about what to order here, I would recommend this one.
My drink was the Amigo (Php 150.00 - 10oz): it was hot coffee and chocolate topped with marshmallows. Presentation-wise, you'd really want to take a picture before tasting it but I would advise you hurry and mix the mallows in while the drink is still hot they'd melt. If you're looking for some caffeine but still prefer the taste of dark chocolate, you should order this.
I'll make sure to order the Gibraltar on my next visit because it was recommended to me once I was talking about what kind of coffee I preferred. I don't know why I told them that after I had already ordered but hey, at least I have a reason to come back now.
I also got to taste a lot of their bowls but my favorite one was the Naked Chorizo (Php 360.00): I loved that the chorizo was sweet but the sourness of the other components in the dish and the spiciness of the adlai (yes, instead of rice it contains adlai) balances it all out.
My dish was the Pesto Chicken Pasta. I can never resist a pesto even if the chicken is white meat which I just.. it's not my preference. But when it's with pesto, I would eat it because I am just a sucker for pesto. Their pesto isn't as strong but it was spiced well so it makes up for it. I managed to finish the whole thing with my very small appetite.
I also got to taste their French Toast which we had for dessert. I focused on the taste of the berries and the yogurt which was perfectly sour with the right amount of sweet.
I love their coffee and I love their food. I've already started telling my friends who work nearby to try this place out in case they haven't yet and I would definitely come back with some of them. Coffee lover or not, there's something you can order here to satisfy your tummy.

Caravan black has been one of my favorite go-to coffee places in BGC because of the coffee shop vibes and coffee, of course! It gives you that classic Western movie feels which really is different from cafés I've been to.
Another thing I love here is the concentration of caffeine in their drinks. I have always been a fan of iced coffees and my personal fav is the Local Motion drink. The coffee jelly bits blends well! If you love caffeinated drinks better than creamy ones, I guess you should try this. Other drinks I've tried are their iced Cooper and Mocha. If you wanna be up for work, try the mocha drink!
Penne rosé was superb! 💓 it’s a combination of red and white sauce. It was creamy and savoury. Truly recommendable.
For the coffee, I had latte which had quite strong coffee taste.
There are a few coffee shops that I like in BGC, and this is one of them. Laid back, minimalist feel, and excellent coffee. I recommend having their cappuccino or their nitro infused coffee. It's a good place to work.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. :) everything we got was great. Ended up here after a work event and it was lovely - from the interiors, to the food and drinks that were recommended to us. :) id definitely come back.
Ordered a couple of dishes from here via Zomato delivery.
The Norwegian Salmon Bowl was pretty good. However, we got very little of the garlic yogurt, and, overall the taste is somewhat bland. The ingredients used were fresh though.
Spinach and Ricotta Penne was just ok, not too yummy.
Update (October 2019):
Went here and had Iced Mocha and Capuccino with almond milk. Coffees were good. Hot Turkey & Chicken Ham Sandwich was good, with dill pickle, dijon, cranberry and havarti cheese. Spinach Ricotta Penne was good too
Given that it's their specialty, Caravan Black definitely has great coffee. So far I've tried their Flat White and Latte (their Iced Latte is my go-to drink). I have no complaints except that their hot coffee easily gets warm - I've been there twice and it happened both times. So I suggest getting the iced version if available :)
I was amazed though by their Signature Grain Bowls. I've had their Smoked Salmon and Garlic Yogurt Bowl and it was fantastic. The bowl is healthy - as it is composed of seafood, red rice, and vegetables - yet filling. It's my first time to eat salmon with garlic yogurt too and surprisingly, they're a good combination. Will definitely come back to get this again or probably their other bowls.
I love this pace for their coffee and great music. When you visit, do try the Localmotion (I prefer it without the honey) or the Cooper. They're best paired with their lemon tarts and their brownies. Oh and their blueberry pancakes are divine.

My favorite drink here is the Localmotion (hello coffee jelly!). Ang sarap! Then I discovered a new gem today: their chocolate chip with sea salt cookie!!! Grabe yung harmony ng salty and sweet. Even the texture is amazing! This cookie won’t make you feel guilty at all. Definitely a must-try for everyone!
This cafe greeted us with nice lighting and quiant decor as we spent our brunch here. The place is pet friendly and ideal also for working sessions.
We did our menu perusing and choose our coffee. My gf ordered the Cooper and I ordered the Localmotion. We began drinking our beverages and exchanged glances of how good it was. A thank you to Caravan Black for having a promo for a free upsize for this drink. That made me extra happy as I enjoyed more of the coffee jelly that was in the drink as well as the mixture of espresso and honey.
We both shared our order of the Signature bowl of Chickpea and Garlic Yoghurt. I must say that for a non vegetarian like myself really was into this meal bowl. The ingredient mixture kept things interesting and very tasty.
Doing some work and enjoying each other's company was enhanced by our drinks and signature bowl meal. A thank you to Caravan Black for making our stay at BGC a worthwhile one.

Been following Caravan on Instagram for quite some time and finally had the chance to visit and try some of their drinks. I must say it’s one of the best cafés I’ve been to. 👌🏻
I liked their Localmotion (P160), it’s a combination of milk, espresso, honey syrup and coffee jelly. I actually loved everything in this drink! Ordered Iced Matcha (P170) as well, the taste of matcha was legit.

Finally, I was able to visit Caravan Black.
After we had lunch in Manam, we thought of walking and have coffee in some other place. But the weather is gloomy and its drizzling. So, we settled in Caravan Black, which is right across Manam.
The place has a very nice murals. The huge map, not-so-bright light, newspaper wallpapers, electric signage. Its so cute and highly instagrammable.
I tried their Flatwhite (8oz for P155) its strong with hint of creaminess. For me its good! I just wanted it extra hot, but the milk is sort of cold so its just warm. We’re full so we haven’t tried their pastries. But they got few choices when we dine.
Verdict: Nice place to catch up with dear friends! Great ambiance. Plus the coffee is good! Will go back if I had a chance😊
Grabbed a matcha latte from @caravanblackcoffee just to satisfy my sugar cravings and indeed the drink really is beyond satisfactory. I know summer is over to grab some cold drinks but who says you can't have one on a rainy weather!
Tried this adorable little cafe in BGC thanks to work (we had a meeting in the building). What first struck me about it is the beautiful aesthetic visible even from the outside. The restroom is also very Instagrammable, haha.
What I had here was the set of 3 scones. I chose 2 blueberry, 1 cheddar. They're served with jam and cream, like any proper scones. I really liked how they are sweeter than most scones I had (they were on the bitter side). They're also dense and soft, and a bit crumbly as all scones are. Super filling! I wrapped one up for breakfast the following day.
I'd also like to commend the staff for not putting my takeout in a plastic bag since I requested paper instead. Hope we can all go for more small, #zerowaste #notoplastic steps :)
A must try coffee shop in BGC! You should not miss this shop! I know that you will also enjoy the way we enjoy ours! :) Cappuccino is one of the best! Something that you should try!

Quite unassuming & hidden along the stretch of Net Park restaurants, Caravan Black marks its territory as one of the area's must-visit cafes. It stays true to its promise to serve only the best tasting coffee & adds a little more punch with its punctual & friendly service. Also, their high ceiling is a big plus & has made the place look bigger than it is. The interiors are fascinating especially for first timers like me as it houses some furniture pieces that give it unique character. It's a nice, quiet place to hang out or have a meeting & take instagram photos of (if you're into that kind of stuff too). The baristas too are willing to converse about their craft. Only downside of this place for me is their slow wifi connection. Otherwise, it is definitely a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts or even just regular folks around the area who need a quick caffeine fix.

Paid Php160 for iced matcha. It's rather expensive, with the small cup and all. For the taste, it tastes like regular matcha I can get anywhere. Maybe I ordered the wrong item since this place is all about coffee (and I'm not a coffee person), but to me, my experience was average at best.

One cafe that offers both is Caravan Black over at BGC. I liked how simple the place was and white too. Well, the white details stood out to me. It was three days before my birthday when I decided to meet two of my best friends. My first friend I met in Megamall and pigged out with in Ooma (I had six servings of their house iced tea!). Then to calm my stomach, had brewed coffee (fantastic coffee!) at St. Marc Cafe and finally, bought doughnuts at Krispy Kreme. It was 6pm when I rushed to BGC to meet another friend to also celebrate an early birthday. At this time, I wasn't feeling chirpy anymore. I was beyond full. Yes, I gluttoned.
I met my friend in a place that was dim, high-ceilinged, and I would say, classy coffee shop with a difference: no one was with an opened laptop who thinks that any coffee shop is a library. No. Caravan Black is no Starbucks.
So, we ordered. My friend had her drink and a brownie and I, hot tea and a banana berry slice (though still full, I had to taste it and risk another visit to the toilet). It sounded too good to pass up on.
The hot tea felt good to my gluttonous body and so was the banana berry slice which was moist and a bit tart. The brownie was nutty and gooey. The kind of gooey I like. The kind that sticks to my teeth.
Speaking of teeth, the female staff was all smiling, helpful and patient. Helpful in the "help-you-decide" thing. And patient for waiting while I took my sweet, sweet time choosing the flavor of my tea.
I will definitely come back to Caravan Black Coffee to try out their sandwiches and pasta. I have good vibes about the place. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

I was looking for a cafe around BGC that I haven't been to and then I remember that I always see this cafe whenever I'm going to high street. The coffee was amazing! It's kinda stronger than the other cafes around. The place was full so I seated outside and I can't charge my phone coz all outlets are taken. The service was really nice, the ambiance inside is very cozy and chill. I'll definitely go back very soon.
Last days of June yet the weather is getting crazier and unpredictable, cloudy ,smoggy yet very humid.This kind of weather made me feel super stressed.
So I need a coffee place to relax something to ease down the senses saw this coffee joint in the BGC area.
Nice interiors, relaxing ,good lighting and it relaxes me ,because sometimes when I get to some coffee shops I get more tired and stressed because of the noise and crowd.I like places that are suitable for relaxing just good chill music,studying or reading.
As for the coffee and food ,the coffee is very good love the cortado .Food have yet to try them but the price seems reasonable enough.
Will definitely come back.
3rd wave coffee place. Honestly quite disappointed with their signature drink (can't even recall what it was named)... bad aside, we move on to the 'wiches. I know NO PLACE in the Metro that serves turkey sandwich, so having tried their tasty, mildly sweet HOT TURKEY was a delight, with crunchy toast! Next, is my fave to order Spinach Cream pasta because of the warm and texture of the ricotta cheese. I've brought 4 friends over who revel over the Spinach Cream pasta.
AMBIENCE - 5 - neat, industrial, loft feel albeit small, decently quiet and regular crowd is hardly tone-deaf noisy.
SERVICE - 4.5 - servers knowledgeable with dishes and can make recommendations based on your preference. I'll probably order more coffee choices next time.
Overall, one of my favorite cafés - better than Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on pasta and sandwich choices and depth of flavor, for the price. Just that their coffee can still be improved 😉
They serve the best coffee around NetPark. Its a breath of fresh air since I'm a little bit tired of drinking SB & CBTL over and over again.
The door was quite heavy and I failed to open it myself. Luckily, one of the owners saw me struggling and helped me.
I went straight to the counter and was greeted by the friendly cashier. I wasn't in the mood to drink anything hot so I settled with Iced Caravan Choco (PHP130) and had it to go as I wanted to be home before it gets really dark.
I was given a piece of numbered paper and was asked to wait for my drink. While waiting, I admired the nice interiors of the café. I find the hat lights so adorable!
There is also a communal long table for solo diners (I think). Communal tables are becoming a trend now in cafés and restaurants. Sadly, only a few are open to mingling with fellow diners. I guess most still strictly follow the "Stranger Danger" rule.
One of my favorite destinations for a business meeting. Top notch espresso drinks, excellent service and comfortable atmosphere to interact with people.
Tip: buy their reloadable gift card, load it up and avoid paying cash. That way you can just order, leave your card with the cashier, and they deliver the coffee to you at the table.
The cafe is strategically located near a huge office building and has great ambience. I have tried -
1. Iced Latte - it was quite good. Comes without sugar so dont forget to add it on the top
2. Localmotion- it is their specialty, has coffee jelly. A must try for people who like to explore coffee and its types.
Ambience - 9/10
Service - 9.5/10 (when I asked for recommendation the staff recommended their specialty and not the most expensive drink that they have, which people generally do. They help you decide and are very courteous)
Value for money- 8/10 (find it a little expensive. It is comparable in price to Starbucks even though it isnt such a large brand)

Caravan Black Coffee caught me because of their cute interiors also of it being a quaint coffee shop, or probably because it is just new when I visited.
I had their Hot Flat White and I was really satisfied. The kick of coffee is something that I appreciate. Also, I think they have their own beans that is why the taste is really concentrated.
I also had their Walnut Brownies. I didn't like the texture but the taste is so good. One of the best Walnut Brownies I had.
Stumbled upon this cafe when I stopped by Abenson that day. Place looked like a good workspace so I went in. Ordered their Flat White and asked if they have wifi, sadly they don't (fortunately my 3G signal was working fine in that area so I still got to work)! Would've been the perfect workspace in that area if they do!

Waiting for a bday event we decided to chill at caravan black as from the outside it is already enticing to get in. I ordered the Sweet Chori Burger (P370) and Nitro Float (P320) while my friends ordered Potato Puffs (P160), 2 Spinach Ricotta Pene (P300 x 2), Iced Coffee Mocha(P165) and Ice Coffee Latte (P155). The Spinach Ricotta Pene was one of the best pene pasta I tasted, on par with Village Tavern's Penne Pasta. The Chori burger was a reminiscent feeling of the chori burger of boracay, only it was larger, healthier and packed with umami compared to the one in Boracay. Their Nitro Float was also good, it exceed my expectations assuming it was a cold brew but I got a different sweet fragrant aftertaste complimented by the Carmen's vanilla ice cream it was with. The potato puffs was okay enough to get your French fry/ potato fix while the iced coffees were great.
Overall the food was great even though it's a bit steeped in price, it redeems itself by having large servings and delicious food and coffee.
Food 5/5 - Everything was superb
Price 3/5 - Bit expensive for the potato puffs and the chori burger but it was well redeemed.
Ambiance 5/5 - I would definitely hangout and stay longer at this coffee shop given the chance.
Service 5/5 - Staff were nice and understanding ( we had balloons with us that time and they didn't mind,)

We have been to Black Caravan a few times, and this was the first time we ate something in addition to just trying their coffee. Having had our lunch already, we were just looking for desserts. We ordered the mini-pancakes, even though they did not look like pancakes even in the menu's photo. Nonetheless, we loved it. We ordered the nutella and banana variety, and the mini pancakes were so cute! it was the few supreme cute things that we could actually eat so we finished them in no time.
We also ordered some drinks, a brewed coffee, a hot latte, a hot matcha and a cactus (just joking). The drinks were decent, and very decent by the standard of small specialty coffee shop, which always has an uphill battle to get quality coffee beans on a consistent basis.
The place was a bit tiny but the simplistic design is just too good. Their coffee doesn't disappoint as well! The mocha was sooo good. Sadly, it was only a small serving size (compared to Toby's Estate).

May have found my new favorite stop for coffee in BGC. I think that the thing I like most about it is the ambiance. Very clean, modern decoration and great music. Not to mention, the coffee is very good!
I really like their place. They have a good ambiance without much people, and it's perfect to chill with friends, or to work! I just wish they had outlets by the couch and good wifi. I'll come back for their matcha drinks and sandwiches!

After a nice sushi lunch in next door Izakaya Sensu, the wife and I got our coffee at Caravan Black. This came highly recommended by my friend Reich Torio, very nice interiors. They called it Caravan Black to give a nod to how coffee was traded in the nineteenth century. The interiors also use prominently the classic bowler hats, another nod to the mid 19th century creation which became popular with the British working class then made its way to the upper class in the 20th century.
I ordered Reich's reco, the Iced Caravan, a Mocha based coffee. It was rich, but not too sweet, perhaps using more cacao (dark chocolate), giving it a nice bitter taste to balance the sweetness. My wife ordered their Americano / long black.
We met the owners, a young couple, Miguel and Chicho, and they recommended to my wife to use their other blend for their coffee instead of the one used that day, because she wanted less citrus notes. That was a good call, because the other brew was smoother, and I liked it when I tried it.
I also loved their green tea cookie. As much as possible, their pastries are baked by themselves, and I liked it's chewy texture and added white chocolate for sweetness. The green tea flavor was pleasant. Worth coming back to to try their sandwiches and other offerings.

A couple of things are going for a one-off coffee shop like Caravan Black...
+ its introduction of Nitro Coffee last year as something of a different take on coffee. Released via tap, I tried it and loved it. Smooth and lightly creamy as a coffee gets without containing milk. It was an excellent experience.
+ great interior design in particular using the man in the bowler hat as the main theme.
+ hands on owners (met them a few times)
+ a pretty decent flat white
+ very good hot or cold mocha
+ great selection of beans (ask their knowledgeable baristas)
Been here before but I'm just adding the Nitro Brew experience I enjoyed last year and my hot Mocha and oatmeal cookie yesterday. Ahhhh, great hangout place. Post lunch at next door Vatos.
Had a quick flat white at Caravan Black before heading to a meeting.
The cabbie dropped me off in the wrong place so I felt a bit stressed. I was looking around for a Starbucks and saw this gem! Cafe had a super spacey and relaxed vibe. Caravan Black was the perfect place to calm down my nerves! Ordered a flat white and asked if I could have it over ice. The barista was kind enough to oblige to my silly request. Staff was courteous and pleasing. A very comfortable place to unwind.
Two thumbs up! Would definitely visit again.
If you want to go away from your usual Starbucks/CBTL drinks, this is a perfect alternative for that. Caravan Black offers the traditional coffee both hot and iced that coffee lovers would surely love. Upon entering, I already love their black and white theme interior, which is perfect for my instagram feed. ☺️😉 The place looks really nice and clean. You wouldn't need to plug your earphones and listen to your spotify playlist because they play really good and chill music. Although the place is a bit small, it doesn't feel cramped even during peak hours.
I ordered their Localmotion and Banana Berry. My drink was not too strong but it took its effect on waking me up while studying here. It may be small but it lasted my entire stay here. Their Banana berry was okay. The service was excellent, the staff were nice and conscious to the customer's needs.

Say hello to the newest coffee shop in BGC!
The Caravan Black Coffee Company is currently on its soft opening and is ready to serve you from 8am to 9pm, Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays. For now, they are closed on Sundays until further notice.
The shop is close to Manam and a Japanese restaurant I failed to take note of. Just look for a hat and you'll find Caravan Black!
Moving on...
The door was quite heavy and I failed to open it myself. Luckily, one of the owners saw me struggling and helped me.
I went straight to the counter and was greeted by the friendly cashier. I wasn't in the mood to drink anything hot so I settled with Iced Caravan Choco (PHP130) and had it to go as I wanted to be home before it gets really dark.
I was given a piece of numbered paper and was asked to wait for my drink.

I made that mistake as i was a lil under tge weather due to the downpour last night plus the horrendous traffic. I need caffeine, quick!
Perks of working at Net Lima. You don't have to cross the street for a cup of joe. I decided to swing by Grind. Alas! They don't have takeaway coffee containers! Grrrr! I counted 1 to 1000....to calm my nerves.
Went to Caravan Black instead. First thing i felt was regret....forgot to bring Slade! The place is so pretty (in an androgynous kind of way). Mismatched chairs, high ceilings, the light fixture is industrial era-ish, eclectic decor and wooden tables.
I picked Iced Mocha (php 160). I ogled at the decor while waiting for my coffee. As much as i wanted to give you a blow by blow description of the texture and taste of coffee, i really can't. I ain't a coffee connoisseur but i know good coffee when i taste one. Caravan Black's coffee is good. Just enough caffeine jolt to wake you up, not too bitter and not to sweet. Suffice tp say that i enjoyed my coffee and this is a first of many visits.
Coffee so good it makes me want to cry! And it is a local brand. Love supporting local! The Gibraltar is my absolute favorite. It has just enough milk. Definitely a new habit.

Localmotion is their coffee jelly drink - iced and refreshing. Gypsy Espresso x Milk x Honey x Coffee Jello. It wasn't the strong type of iced coffee but that's fine by me.
If coffee is just what you want, this place suits you. I love how they mix the 1970's spy look with modern industrialized on their interiors, their bowler hat logo say's it all :) the coffee is so good that even my picky niece liked it. I think they need to add more pastry and sandwiches and this would be a very perfect place to hang-out for a chill time. I would definitely be back as this is now one of my favorite place.

Really great coffee shop in BGC. Had the Gibraltar and it was awesome. You can really tell they are passionate about their coffee! The espresso machine is really beautiful and the artwork is very interesting :)

My friends the Tia brothers brought me for a shot of coffee after an hour in unreasonable traffic. When we arrived, I met two of the partners in the business - Miguel, who let me know their hot kitchen is opening soon (as early as next week) and Andrei, with whom I've worked with professionally some years back. It was a good reunion; we caught up and laughed about the old times.
Caravan Black has been open a few weeks, together with a brave bunch of restaurants at Net Lima's expanded wing called Net Park. Some of their pastries are consigned, but their cookies are made in-house, such as their cranberry and white chocolate, and salted chocolate chip chip cookies, which Miguel offered us to try. It's good stuff.
There is a fridge with sandwiches to go, Pret a Manger style, which works well for the corporate, light lunch-on-the-go crowd.
While not a big venue, it has a mood of its own. Were it not for its acknowledged target market and location, the cozy red sofas, the meeting tables, the 1940's retro decor, with a post-modern, digital reinterpretation of Magritte's famous "The Son of Man" (it's a picture of a man wearing an overcoat and a bowler hat, his face covered by a green apple), and globe lighting, Caravan Black could easily be a speakeasy bar or a bustling bistro.
So the boys shared an iced Localmotion coffee, while I sampled their Miami Vice iced black coffee with soda, which woke me up and boosted my energy for a few more hours. Look out for other interesting touches on display; there's a black Bakelite phone in one corner, and not far from it, a green onyx rotary phone.
This is designer coffee in an up and coming location. Prices are good, and the place has its own touch.
Caravan Black Coffee is still on its soft opening, so I was lucky to discover this gem while it's not packed with people yet. It's located inside the Net Park building so it might be a little bit hard to find, but once you're there it's the perfect place to work, study, or have a relaxing time. There's no wifi though so if you need Internet to work, this may not be the place for you.
It's also cash-basis so be sure to have some bills with you! I got a latte which was moderately priced, but artfully decorated and was made with good quality coffee.
The ambiance is great, it's pretty quiet and to the standard of typical cafes, but the aesthetics makes it look like a stunning artisanal cafe, with some hints of a minimalist, hipster kind of vibe.
To those who like their coffee bitter and better, try Localmotion at Php 140.00. Thought it would be expensive, but it's not. First tasted it on a Monday, and ordered it again on a Wednesday. Addiciting :)) Service and interior - both five. Instagrammable? Yes!
