Food was great but the place was too small.
I like this brand since it offers a wide array of asian food. If you're sick of the usual steak and other English food, then go for this restaurant.
Good food and a nice place to be with family. It feels very asian since you will be eating in a banana leaf. I love the Roti Canai and the Beef Rendang.
I love the food. Place is great. I'll definitely recommend this to some of my friends.
One the best things that captured me here is the selection of food that they offer.
I went here last time with my family since we got curious on why the restaurant had so many people. When we got in, we're briefed of the best sellers and we have given it a try.
I must say I got astonished on the restaurant interior and the food. For its price, I'll give it a 5/5.
To keep up with their name, customers are provided banana leaf instead of a plate.
We ordered Green Curry Chicken and Beef Rendang. My companion liked the rendang but I found the taste too rich for me. I liked the milder taste of the green curry. But hopefully they chop their chicken better next time to avoid small pieces of bones mixed with the sauce, or remove the bones prior to serving.
Price is reasonable.
Restaurant is not that big so you may have to wait during peak dinner hours.
All these years, I thought Banana Leaf serves Filipino food 😅
Banana Leaf is the place for Malaysian/Singaporean food in the metro! We loved Roti Canai with Curry. Flaky roti with delicious and slightly spicy curry. Deep Fried Basil Tofu was ok. Crunchy tofu with good basil flavor.
Stir-fried Clams in Singaporean Chili Sauce was just what I was craving for. Good quantity of clams in an amazing sweet and spicy chili sauce..
Discovered an affordable and good food in Banana Leaf.
I am quite surprised that after so many years, we have not tried Banana Leaf until last Father's Day.
We loved the crispy Viet Rolls,Fried thin wrapper and filling that's super crunchy!!!! #addicting
Try Roti, Noble leaves, Pomelo Salad, Spicy Prawns and Sticky Mango...just like us I'm sure, you'd love to come back too!
I can't wait to come back for more especially the Vietnamese Soup!
I just didn't like the girl staff that served us during Dinner.
Pretty good place to get your thai food fix. They have really good and tender chicken satay and really nice thai curry with tender beef. The thai fried rice we ordered was very nice too. But the mango sticky rice dessert didn't really tasrmte that authentic.
It was my first time to eat here. My friend recommended that we try it so we did. I honestly thought this was another milk tea shop haha! Because of the name! So many tea shops with Leaf in their name . Anyway, I was blown away with their dishes.. It was truly a mix of all the asian cuisine in one! Loved the shrimp and pork toast and their best seller curry. I'll definitely bring my family here!
We love the food. It is tasy and yummy. It’s worth the price. Satisfied tummy here😋..
It’s just that we waited quite awhile before the food was served.
We had the coconut seafood soup. For drinks, I tried the Pandan iced tea. The soup was good as far as taste but lacking the seafood. There really wasn't much to work with. Thank God there was rice! As for the oandan drink, it was super refreshing. I wouldn't mind going here just for the drink. :)
I think South East Asian food is my vibe and here's why:
* Thai Coconut Seafood Soup
Delicious coconuty flavour, although, not as thick as I wish. I liked that it was served inside a coconut. Must be a regular thing for ya'll pinoys but it's quite exotic for me. It somehow reminds of Tom Yum. In fact, if someone said this is Tom Yum, I wouldn't even tell.
The downside is that there's not much seafood. A few mussels & shrimps, a few pieces of some fish, lemongrass, and the rest (80%) is the broth.
* Pandanus Pancake Roll with Fresh Coconut
This is the hit! I swear I would go here just for this dessert. It's cheap, there's a lot (4 rolls) and the flavour is just perfect. It's served with some sweet sauce. Everything fits so nicely, niyog, pandan, sauce, mmm...
* Thai Iced Tea
I like how they serve it with milk on top, so you get to stir it. It's a nice idea because it's fun to watch milk dissolving in the cup. The actual taste is a little bit on the sweet side but nothing too extreme. Just stir it well and mix with ice.
The ambiance is so-so. They didn't decorate much but I liked the dresses on waitresses, if that counts 😝
We liked our dinner. We found the food flavourful.
Whenever we’re here we always order the cereal prawns. It was a bit different today though. The “cereal” was different.

Was looking forward to eat their food and they didnt disappoint. Their Tom Yum soup is the bomb! Loving their roti and curry also. Service is quick also despite having many customer when we were dining.
The food is undeniably scrumptious. However, the service fell short. We had to ask for water too many times. Improving the level of service is imperative to maintain a positive dining experience.
I am craving with something asian. Then, ive decided to try the dish of Banana Leaf at Sm Aura branch together with my parents and it was so great! My father really loves their chicken curry and my mom loves the tilapia fillet. The experience was so satisfying and the food also. Curious about what i love in this resto? Well, of course. The service! All the staff are polite and approachable.. kudos to everyone!
Overall great food. Eating here always requires 2 servings of rice to go with the good food. The fried butterfly fish with oatmeal is a must when ordering. Would appeal for brighter lights in their restaurants, as the atmosphere is dark and subdued; the interior needs a refreshment; or just whiter, brighter light bulbs.
Banana Leaf Review:
Staff: 5/10, Snob. 😢
Food: 8/10 food was good, coconut rice is a must. 😁
The house Laksa is a must!
Drink: 7/10, not a fan of Thai drink.
Over all, they offer you good food on reasonable price 👌
Loved their Roti Canai and Curry Sauce dip. Vietnamese Fresh Spring Roll is a must try. Their Sticky Rice melts in your mouth! Their Fried King Fish with its veggies and sauce is just as good. Malayan Green Curry have all the spices you need.
We always visit for a lunch or dinner, even for a snack!

According to my research, Banana Leaf is a multi-awarded international restaurant that pioneered the introduction of Southeast Asian cuisine to Filipino diners since 2001 through the authentic delights of modern Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai, Indian, Vietnamese and Indonesian foods.
Banana Leaf's mission is to acquire authentic ingredients from the cuisine origin specific to every dish they serve in order to ensure consistent and high quality food; deliver a unique, satisfying and memorable dining experience through an atmosphere of contemporary tropical Asian designs along with excellent customer service at an exceptionally affordable cost so that everyone can enjoy a taste of true Southeast Asian cuisine.
Here were the dishes that I have tried during my recent visit:
➿Roti Canai➿ (88 php)
- Chewy on the inside yet flaky and crunchy on the outside. The presentation may look like that it had been thrown on the plate but taste wise, it was pretty good. Pair it with a bowl of curry for the complete flavor experience.
➿Curry Sauce➿ (30 php)
- Sweet, creamy, spicy and fragrant. Just like a good curry should be.
➿Chicken Satay➿ (188 php)
- 4 sticks of boneless chicken thighs, marinated in several Asian spices. The chicken itself was very flavorful and tender and the peanut sauce was really helpful in enhancing the overall taste of this dish.
➿Tilapia Fillet in Assam Sambal Sauce➿ (328 php)
- This was one of the best dishes that I have tried in Banana Leaf. The crispy Tilapia that was soaked in their signature Sambal Sauce made this dish extremely addicting for me. It also had a good balance of sweetness, sourness and spiciness to it which made me love it even more.
➿Penang Char Kway Teow➿ (188 php)
- A classic stir-fried noodle dish that is loved by many Asians. It is made out of flat rice noodles that were sautéed in a "sweet soy-like" sauce and then mixed with several textural elements such as, shrimps, fishcakes, beansprouts, egg, and etc. It is one of the tastiest noodle dishes you can ever try. Serving was a lot too which makes it worth the 188 php spend.
Banana Leaf has a special place in my heart because I have been eating here ever since I was still living in Singapore. I feel at home whenever I am at Banana Leaf and that the place reminds me of so much memories back in the day.
Fresh spring rolls + Pad Thai + Chicken Pandan = more than enough for a table of two!
Will always come back to Banana Leaf for their affordable meals and yummy choices!
PS. I always get dizzy after eating there though. Probably bec of the salt and oil-- hehe

Good food. Super delicious. Good idea to make us eat on a banana leaf. looks like we're in the province. Bad crew. Waited a long time to get water and extra rice.
I am happy I can now review them. A week ago and a day, I still wasn't able to post a review. Late post. It was nice dinner for me and my family. I loved that our plate was substituted by a banana leaf. They are staying true to their name.
We ordered their Sweet Crispy Kangkong (under vegetables), it was served as an appetizer. We requested to set aside the sauce, good choice as you will enjoy the crispy kangkong on its own. The sauce had a sweetness, salty taste.
I enjoyed Tilapia Fillet with Malayan Cream Sauce, it is okay to share but of course, you would want more tilapia fillet. For me, cream sauce had an oatmeal similarity.. it went well with the fish. Chicken Satay was yummy, I believe there was 4 sticks. And for our dessert, we had Sticky Rice with Mango. Ripe mango was sweet, sticky rice was the right sweetness and cream on top when placed all together was so good. Will definitely return. Service was pleasant also.
The frequency of my food trips has lessened particular cravings. The restaurant scheduled hopping has someone mitigated this. But today, my stomach looked for Malaysian/ Singaporean flavor. Besides not many of this type of cuisines around, so we jumped in.
True to its name, you eat in a Banana Leaf. It is a nice creative twist that someone makes you eat more as you get fascinated with a new 'plate'.
Two of the dishes I shared with Maya were delectable and makes you miss trips to Singapore. Their Hainanise had really tasty chicken and made better with combinations of its classic three sauces. We had the lunch version of it for less than Php 200. It came with sweet lemongrass iced tea.
For almost Php 400, the Squid was bursting with flavor. A big plus is its spicy salty sauce. You gotta have this with rice, particularly the chicken flavored rice.
The vegetable dish, Noble Leaves was quite disappointing. It was drenched in oil despite my request of less of it. I also found it too bitter thus a waste of Php 200.
We should have had curry! I wonder why we forgot to have it. 😋
