Soufflé pancakes have become a fad and one of my friends just had to try it. The rest of us? Not so interested. Thankfully, there was Motto Motto which became our middle ground, having soufflé pancakes in their menu as well as offering other fare.

I had their Garlic Butter Beef and those who like their food sweet will enjoy this dish. Although, the hotplate it was served in could have been hotter so the bean sprouts it was served with could have been cooked more. We also had their Dynamite Roll for sharing and I just treated it as my rice because a separate order for rice would have cost me a whooping P75. 🙄 At that price, I could have already bought a kilo.

I was able to take a bite out of my friend's Soufflé Pancake and it was good. She enjoyed it thoroughly and kept her giddy throughout the rest of our dinner.

In general, everything that we had was good but dishes are expensive relative to the serving size.

Their pink doors and cozy interiors would call you to check them out. However, there is more to that. The moment you come inside, their freshly baked pastries and if you happen to witness someone cooking souffle pancakes too, you will be enticed to take a seat and eat.

Aside from their best selling Fluffy Souffle Pancakes, they have a lot to offer as well. Some of my favorites are as follows:
1. CHEESY HAMBURG-O-RAMA
- This dish in particular is a la carte but you can add your choice of rice or salad by adding an additional amount depending on what you will be adding. The Beef itself is tender, thick in slice and not to mention the cheese is pretty generous.

2. TORI TERIYAKI
- The chicken is tender and flavorful not just because of the sauce but probably it was marinated in a secret marinate before it was fried. It can be good for lunch (if you do not want to eat rice) or as a light dinner.

3. SALMON KATSU
- Their Sister restaurant, Saboten, is known for its great Katsu Meals and this one did not disappoint. I love the crunch of the breading and at the same time, the Salmon inside is thick and well fried but not oily.

4. BEEF TAPA
- A dish that is part of their All Day Breakfast Menu, their Beef Tapa is not your ordinary one -- it got a chewable fatty parts and really beefy meaty parts too. If you love garlic, you would surely appreciate this dish but if not, you can ask if they could lessen the garlic. I am sure, they would do it as their service never fails to be excellent.

5. ABURI BUTADON
- A pork dish that is really tender to the point that the meat melts in your mouth. Also, the serving size does not disappoint because it really filling.

I've tried Puffy's and AM PM's soufle pancakes but Motto Motto's version is by far the best 🥞 Spongy but not to the point where it felt uncooked inside like that of AM PM's. The butter, red beans and honey syrup complements the moderately sweet fluffs ❤️

The tori teriyaki was succulent and the Japanese chahan was a perfect add on.

It felt like everything tastes good 👌

My only issue was with the size of the chicken teriyaki, but that can be improved.

This is my go to place in Serendra for good and affordable chirashi bowls. The fish is always fresh, and the bowl has a nice balance of elements. There is never too much rice!

The staff has been consistently friendly, attentive and helpful. One time my phone was dying and couldn’t get back home, and they gladly let me charge my phone there. They looked for a charger from within the staff, and helped helpless little me. Still thankful for all the help and love that day.❤️

I’ve been meaning to try their cute kiddie set because I like all things cute. 😭 Will definitely bring my nephew here to check how he rates Motto! Motto!

Was not able to take a picture of the rice bowl my husband always order when we’re here but it’s the spicy salmon/tuna sashimi bowl. I haven’t tried any bad dish from this place, it’s always a yummy experience every time. Sometimes tho, the food takes time to be served.

I remember back in high school that I would always write “Patience is a virtue”. I can’t recall where I got that from. But most of my notebooks then would have that motto in. I guess that was my motto then despite me being an impatient person. Still trying to master it til now. But it’s nice right? I was just reminded of that, and luckily, no waiting time at this resto. 🙂

Buta Yakisoba - 8/10 🍜
Spicy Karaage - 9/10 🍗
Nigiri Omakase - 9/10 🍣
Gyoza was not available, so we tried the Niku Maki Hanjuku Tamago - 11/10 🍳( surprisingly, we super love this one!)

Such a warm welcome from the minute we entered the place. I like that even if we were just 2, we were given a booth. I hate it when we are assigned narrow tables for 2. I was working on my laptop and the manager came over to lend me a mouse pad - now that's service!

The menu is extensive and for our first time, we tried the tempura and pork rice bowl plus boiled egg wrapped in bacon. We hope to be back to try the pancake 💜

Time of arrival here was 9:30 am, if I remember correctly. We were hungry and craving sushi. Chose Motto Motto since it's Japanese, had Zomato gold option and had sushi. Sadly their (raw) fish options were only available from 11 am onwards, which really bummed us out. Nonetheless, we were already seated, I've already unlocked the gold and we were too hungry to think of another place. I got just a basic curry dish and he got a tempura don. Everything was great and did the job, really was filling suprisingly. Our choices weren't the most expensive so it was worth it, but would really question the other ones. You know what they say though, can't knock it until you've tried it.

My best friend and I wanted to get an early start to our date, so we met up for breakfast at Motto Motto. We were able to locate the restaurant right away, as the lovely calligraphy on the glass windows weren’t hard to miss. And as soon as we entered the establishment, a fresh and modern vibe welcomed us. The interiors also exuded a love for natural beauty (of faux Cherry Blossom accents to living towering plants) complemented with cozy furniture and fixtures in red and brown tones. We were comfy in our chosen nook and instantly got down to ordering from the menu.

We both ordered the Beef Tapa (P295), which came with Aonori scrambled eggs, garlic rice, and Japanese pickles. I chose it right off the menu because it was a breakfast staple that I loved. My favorite version of it is the one that my husband makes from scratch. But Motto Motto’s version was an exception. It tasted different. But it was surprisingly good as the thinly-sliced beef had a savory flavor to it. Oh, and the meat was tender too!

The serving was hearty. The ‘sinangag’ with extra fried garlic garnished on top was a winner too. Plus, the Japanese pickles were a good palate cleanser. The Aonori scrambled eggs were also fluffy and delicious.

We also paired our all-day brunch platters with a Flat White coffee each. I dipped the chocolate stick into my coffee just for the fun of things, and it still tasted delightful.

Of course, we also had to try the much-talked-about Soufflé Pancakes (P195). I’ve never had this type of cake before, so it was all new to me structure and taste-wise. It came with matcha butter (super interesting combination), maple syrup, and whipped cream topped with powdered sugar. I paired it with butter and syrup, but I came to like it as is. The fluffy pancakes jiggled a little, as I sliced through it.

The restaurant was cozy, and the staff was attentive and accommodating. Our dining experience was satisfying. Motto Motto is a place in the south that I will genuinely travel to again so I can sample more of their Japanese offerings. We went in with fewer expectations and came out as believers of the brand.

Here’s a special shout-out to a dear friend, Mela, for sharing this wonderful experience with me and my BFF. I wouldn’t have heard of Motto Motto if it weren’t for you. So thank you!

Motto Motto had surprisingly good japanese dishes with a somewhat modern dish. Their Gyudon Donburi (although the US Wagyu option wasn’t available), had a different type of beef on top unlike usual beef yakiniku strips you normally find on gyudon bowls. Their beef was good but the sauce lacked a hint of flavor. The aburi rolls, on the other hand, were really flavorful.

What I didn’t like was how they had soooo many items on their menu, which made it a bit overwhelming.

Tried Motto motto restaurant in serendra.

Their Bara chirashi don is a bit pricey. I find their raw fish too small but overall taste is nice. US beef gyudon is cooked just right ang tastes great. Shake yukhoe don is salmon rice which is so-so. And their garlic beef teppan is oily but tastes good.

Overall the place good for family gathering. Most of their prices are acceptable.

We went here to have a late lunch yesterday. The place is really nice and cozy, it is clean and spacious, and the interior is really nice. We had the beef garlic from the teppan series, 2 bowls of japanese rice, mixed tempura, kani fries, motto iced tea and a coke. All of our orders tasted great, the beef was tender and tasty and served hot, the same with the rice. The mixed tempura is also delicious, and the kani fries is interestingly tasty. It was my first time to try it and I liked it. Their motto iced tea is great too. Overall a good dining experience. The staff are attentive and polite from the moment we entered until we left. I wouldn't mind dining here again. Thank you.

Would definitely come back here! Servings weren’t huge but the quality was A++. The spicy tuna sashimi is served with nori so you can roll it in there. The crazy roll had very sweet mangoes and a generous amount of roe. The tempura flakes for both dishes were made with actual panko. Very crisp and light. The gyudon was also great with generous servings of beef. Their service is also wonderful: very friendly and attentive staff. The downside is they had a number of things unavailable during our visit (unagi, wagyu, matcha butter, strawberry pancake). The original souffle pancake was also so-so. While I understand the texture is achieved with the use of fluffed egg whites, the eggy waste was too overpowering. I suppose it would have been better with the match butter, which was unavailable during our visit. Other than that, I highly recommend this place!

Ate here for 2 consecutive days because of the 1+1 promo and the variety of Japanese food on their menu. The ambience had a modern Japanese feel, which was refreshing. The servers were also very accommodating. We ordered the Spicy Dynamite Don, Spicy Tuna Sashimi served with Nori, Ebi Tendon, Aburi Butadon, Karaage, Karaage Curry Rice, and Chicken Namban. I enjoyed the Spicy Dynamite Don and Spicy Tuna Sashimi and would definitely recommend it! Surely coming back to try other dishes, especially their dessert.

Been wanting to try Motto Motto for a long time now (since some of my friends suggested me to here), and nowwww I can't believe I had the chance to try two of their All-Day Brunch Sets!

My friend ordered the Beef Tapa and I had the Souffle Pancakes. The Beef Tapa tasted like the misono beef I had at Yoshinoya Japan, but toasted, tastier and garlicky. The Souffle Pancakes are so fluffy, and that's also my first ever Souffle in my 20 plus years of existence! (bcus ya know, I don't splurge much on French food) but yeaaah their Souffle Pancakes are fluffy, light, melts in your mouth, and great combination with their matcha butter and syrup!

Would love to come back soon for their Lunch Sets, and for Zomato Gold!

I’ve been here twice this week! That must mean I like it here, hehe. Reasonably priced dishes but even more value for money when you unlock Zomato Gold here for 1+1 on Food like I did. We were 2 persons and we both have Z Gold so we unlocked the 2 and got 4 dishes but only paid for half. I ordered the same exact dishes the second time around, that’s how much I liked it but will try my best to order something new (to me) the next visit, LOL.

My current favorites are:

1. Shake Yukhoe Don for only ₱270 - norwegian raw salmon (I love salmon), egg yolk, nori strips, sesame seeds, green onions and rice. Love all the ingredients and so happy to enjoy them in one bowl.

2. Buta Kimchi - sizzling kimchi with pork is so good with rice. I love kimchi and I love Korean BBQ, this dish combines the 2 in 1! A bit pricey at ₱295 plus rice ₱75 but with Zomato Gold, it becomes really affordable.

3. Hot Pepper Pork - I obviously love pork too! This is like the Buta Kimchi but without the kimchi, instead corn, garlic and breansprouts plus more pork slices for only ₱265 (if I remember correctly) but that’s without rice too.

Those 3 are the dishes we repeated.

On my first visit, the 4th dish was the Souffle Pancakes which was the main reason I wanted to come here. I ordered the Banana & Chocolate variant because I love caramelized bananas but I’m not too fond of chocolate syrup so I’m glad they accommodated my request to replace it with creme anglaise and maple syrup. The pancakes are really fluffy and filling, delicious and good for sharing.

On my second visit, the 4th dish was the Buta Aburi Don which was again value for money. It was my companion’s order, although I did have a taste too, and he enjoyed it too.

Even the Matcha Latte we ordered was good.

The only things that were disappointing during my first visit, thus the not perfect rating of 5 were: 1) I requested for the pancakes to be served for dessert and though they did serve them last, they were served while we were still having our mains so I had to hurry in finishing my rice meal because I wanted to try the pancakes while they were “fresh,” and 2) the glass cup of the matcha latte had some sort of brown thing smeared on the outside of the glass (bottom area, steel portion) & when I asked the staff, they said it was probably chocolate (well, I hope so!) from their working area. I didn’t have it replaced for 2 reasons: didn’t want to waste food (or in this case the drink) and I was scared that they wouldn’t take the feedback well because although they were not rude about my inquiring about the brown smear and asking if they were sure that the glass cup had been washed properly and after offered a replacement, they were not apologetic about it either.

We had our food to go but the food was still pretty warm when it got to our place. We got the gyudon and the souffle pancakes. The gyudon was pretty good. It's not the usual super savory kind. It has a nice milder flavor that would appeal to anyone who isn't a huge fan of salty food. I was actually worried that the pancakes would be a bit deflated since I only had them to go. I was really happy when they were still intact. The pancakes are really good! They're nice and fluffy and they aren't sweet so that goes well with their syrup. It would be even better if I had eaten these right as they were being served. Overall it was pretty good.

Traveling BGC is a bit hard for me but what keeps me want to go is their food choices. There are over 800 restaurants around the BGC and 70% of that 800 is a restaurant that you can only try in BGC. Motto motto means “more more” in Japanese, it is a Japanese comfort food restaurant situated in Serendra BGC. They offer an affordable and unique Japanese with a twist of Filipino food options. They also serve pastry from a homegrown Tokyo bakery concept.

5 stars for the Strawberry Yakult drink. Sorry I forgot the whole name. Hahaha. Combining those two is always tricky and they did it right.

3 stars for the Seafood Tempura Don. I was disappointed with the shrimp head and just a few carrots covered by starch. Not what Inexpected for its price.

3 stars for the Pork Gyudon. Pork was kinda raw and it doest taste good. Sauce was nice though. It would be better if the meat was cooked more.

4 stars for Omakase. Special highlight with the chorizo covered with cheese. I loved it. Super tasty!

We tried their wagyu beef roll, the salmon aburi roll, the salmon yukhoe donburi, and their strawberry pancakes.

We liked 3 out of the 4 items, the wagyu beef roll being the very disappointing one. The beef was kind of chewy, and overall the roll is bland. The beef didn't taste like anything nor did anything really in the roll, I just had this taste of ginger and that's it. The salmon aburi roll though we really really liked, it had this great smoky flavor and the unagi sauce goes great with it.

The salmon yukhoe was good, serving size wasn't the biggest but the flavor was nice. They said it was spicy though but I did not detect any spice. The pancakes were nice, very very fluffy and had a nice creme anglaise with it.

Overall price is a bit upscale for the size, but still okay. Would just not order that wagyu beef roll again.

Then Kani Salad (for sharing), tempura Maki. The pancakes were creamy, light, airy, and since it was my 1st time to try (didnt get to try GRAM at Osaka since its always sold out), i was AMAZED🤗 with the texture and flavor. Definitely i will be back for this, will try other flavors. (Miss on that UNfresh Azuki beans) The kani salad and maki were okay -not the best that id tasted. I have been looking for the perfect pancakes in the Philippines since I tried Japan’s fluffy pancakes. Motto Motto! has delivered that with a pancake so soft and creamy.

The spicy tuna sashimi was the bomb. It was spicy but not too overpowering that you can still taste the components.

The rice bowl was surprisingly good. Although it looked small, the amount was just right to make me full.

Lastly, I asked the kind waitress for a recommendation and she suggested the egg wrapped in bacon and some sauce. I initially laughed but when it arrived, I was glad that I ordered it. It was a sinful bite every step of the way but one that I wouldn’t regret.

I hope Motto Motto! is closer to where I live so I could visit often and try out other dishes from their menu.

After attending an event in BGC, we went to Motto Motto to try their pancakes and other baked goods. I like the ambiance of the store, and the fact that there's a lot from their menu you can choose from. From baked goodies and sweets, to vegetable salad and Japanese seafood cuisines, hot and cold drinks, Motto Motto is a one stop shop for your cravings.

"Impossible cake" is the top pick for me next to "Tiramisu" . I have no idea why it is called "impossible" cake, but it tastes so perfect for me. Japanese Souffle is also one of the best sellers and a must try. ❤️

The price I think is reasonable and right for the quality and individual serving.

I was like a kid in a toystore with the variety of Japanese comfort food and goodies at Motto Motto. Literally translated to "more, more," there is really a lot to choose from that it could be confusing. This is the Raintree Group's venture into a cozy, hip and modern Japanese dining area that incorporates good Japanese food staples like sushi, sashimi, takoyaki, tempura, etc with freshly baked Japanese cakes and pastries plus choice Japanese snacks as well.

Ready for our double unlock, we first got the Demi-Omurice (P350) and got the Dynamite Roll (P320) for free. We then wanted something more substantial and got the Wagyu Saikoro Steak (P750) and copped the 5 pc Ebi Tempura (P575) as bonus. We also ordered the Crazy Roll (P320), Chicken Namban (P380), Cheese and Curry Burger Steak (P395), 2 cups gohan rice, the Orange Brulee Souffle Pancake (P295) and the Cookie Dough Cheesecake (P280).

Though all dishes were superb, my favorites would be the rolls, the steak, the chicken namban and the souffle pancake.

Kudos to Chefs Andoh and Kalel for the fine spread. The interplay of flavors of the rolls, the tender, succulence and flavor of wagyu, the crunchy, garlicky, meaty chicken and the sublime Orange Brulee pancake make up stuff you'd dream about long after the eating is done.

On my way out, I even spotted Glico Cheeza snack packs (P150 each, in 7-11s across Japan they go for P90). They have several flavors like Rochefort (blue cheese), Gouda and Cheddar. I absolutely love them and was hooked the first time I tried them in Japan. It's not cheap, but if you love cheese like I do, it goes perfectly with wine. Like cheese and crackers, with Glico Cheeza the cracker IS the cheese! Yummm!!
