Loved my time there but my sister says otherwise. She hated her food and only ate a portion of it because she said nakakaumay daw 'yung cheese sa chicken niya. She complained the whole dinner but I enjoyed mine naman lol.
I brought my mother for lunch here, and ordered their set meals, which was quite affordable because of its serving. Everything was delicious and served hot, so I have no negative thing to say about the food, but the reason for the 4 rating is that there are two things I didn't like. One is because it took quite a while for our order to be served, I think maybe because it was a weekend. But I have been on Tenya in Megamall on a weekend too and it didn't take that long to prepare our orders. Another reason for the rating is the hot temperature inside the restaurant. They have like a big blower there so I don't know if it was the because the aircon is down, but the thing is they did not turn that on so it was quite hot inside. Anyway, it was still a good experience because the food was delicious, and we left there feeling full and ready to shop.

Nice ambience! I scored only 4 because rice was not that sticky and small anount . But overall, the taste is excellent. Superb quality of food and service!
Of course Tenya is famous for its tempura. I always buy classic tempura soba whenever I dine here. Recently trying their ningoyaki. It’s so cute!! Comes in panda head shape, filled with warm nutella and custard.
Japanese food will always be my comfort food, and Tenya is my go-to place when I need my tempura fix. Everything is cooked just right, and I’m obsessed with this special sauce they have among the condiments on the table.
We are used to local beers, american, belgian, german, european beers. Somehow japanese beers somehow escaped our taste buds. But not for long. Here in Market Market we were drawn by the japanese promo offered by Tenya. One of our favorite japanese restaurants. They were offereing 3 beers for the price of two. Getting a free beer is always welcome so we had to try it out for ourselves.
Staff was accomodating and pleasant even though we went there just an hour before they close. Food was good, serving size is adequate fot the price. Will be back to try out their other offerings.
I didn’t really eat there, this was a take out meal.
The place impressed me with the sheer amount of items in their menu. Lots of interesting ulam to try. I’ve had Jo Tendon. It had nice tempura fried shrimps and also talong. The was a lot of rice, too. Everything was yummy but I wish the rice had a bit more sauce. It was too dry to my taste.
I’d be excited to actually eat there since the menu looks very interesting.
I loved this place. It's a hidden underdog in Japanese casual dining in BGC. Their salmon salad is delicious and the serving size is more than worth its price. I also had their agedashi tofu and it was surprisingly fresh! As I was waiting for my order, some customers even thanked the chef for the delicious meal.
Asakusa special tempura teishoku
All star tendon bowl (prawn, squid, salmon, kani, green beans, mushroom)
Isobe cheese
The kani and salmon in the tendon is so yummy I still cant get over it.
We have visited megamall and MoA branches before and have usually ordered teishoku and isobe. Glad there's this more accessible branch to us now.
We ordered the Ooedo Kagayaki set. Everything tasted good. Price was reasonable. We also ordered an affogato for drink. I loved it specially the milk. A heartily meal we had!
I really love japanese food so I decided to try here and they did not disappoint me. We ordered 2 set (with soba, 2 tiger shrimp). The soba broth was delicious and savory, tempura batter was not greasy and perfect. Staffs were friendly. Price was good for its quality and quantity. I really love the tempura vegetables. This place is recommended. I'll be back. 😍😍😊😊
This is our “go-to” place for our tempura cravings. Cold Soba is a must try, Miso Soup is naturally smooth, Makki goes well with any dish, Gyoza is is an oh yeah, Tempura here is tasty-great! Happy Customer so far!
Everything we ordered was cooked just right although orders arrive one at a time. Staffs were friendly and attentive.Im not familiar with their menu but I've ordered the set menus for my son and hubby. Overall it was great , it was a good experience for all of us.

My husband and I really has a thing for japanese food, maybe because of his line of work. We have thought of dining in this restaurant several times but we only had a chance to try during my son's last visit to Manila.
I forgot what we ordered but as usual, I always take instagramable photos for social media's sake 😂 To sum up the experience, place was great as so isthe food. One thing I didn't like though is we're seated near the door facing the way outside the mall already, and it was so hard to get on staff attention everytime we need something.
good food, excellent service. Made a mistake ordering my type of salad. I requested if it could still be changed when they delivered my order. No questions asked, order was changed.
Black Tiger tempura is the bomb! Tenya gave me that Japanese vibes through their sumptuous meals. They just need to work on their serving portion, I find it a little 'bitin' .. rest all good experience.

If you're not a big eater, this place is perfect for you. Price is reasonable. Service is not that accurate. The server offered us a drink that is so called best seller then ended up not having it because it is out of stock. :D
Would highly recommend their udon/soba set.
Their tempura aren't oily/greasy giving you more flavor.
Their soba noodles are pretty good too (best paired chilled instead of hot)
My daughter opted for the Asakusa Special Tendon (P315) which is basically a donburi (rice bowl) with three pieces of black tiger prawn tempura and green beans as topping. It’s served with a bowl of miso soup.
She was quite happy with it.
I decided to order their Cherry Blossom Tendon (P385). It’s got sakura shrimp (which reminded me of okoy), one imperial black tiger prawn tempura, nori (seaweed) tempura, kani (crabstick) tempura, and asparagus tempura. It was served with miso soup too, just like my daughter’s order.
I really got a full bowl. I loved everything! Tenya does tempura right — the batter is light and crispy while what’s inside is flavorful. So yummy! The serving portion is on the small side, my daughter commented that she wasn’t really full after finishing her Asakusa Special Tendon. I found it okay as my appetite isn’t really what it used to be.
We each ordered a Ningyo-Yaki Sundae (P125) for dessert. A Teddy Bear-shaped Japanese cake sits atop a big scoop of vanilla ice cream surrounded by caramel popcorn. It’s supposed to be drizzled with your choice of nutella, chocolate, or dulce de leche (the server didn’t ask us what we want and automatically served us chocolate!). The cake is pancake-like in terms of taste and texture and is filled with chocolate. You can actually order the cake by the box for P135 per 5 pieces. Pretty average, but we found it to be a nice way to cap off our meal.
Price-wise, Tenya is similar to Yabu (Tenya may be a bit cheaper) but I think you get more in terms of volume at Yabu. If you do come across Tenya, it’d be good to try it out. It's quite comparable to Tenya in Tokyo.
We ordered a set which consisted of several kinds of tendon, miso soup, prawn maki and kariage salad. We loved everything, even the rice tea. Very affordable too. We were a party of 5 still we weren't able to finish everything. Hope they open in the QC area soon.
I like Tenya because of their food and the resto ambience. In fact, this is my 4th time to visit the place. I ordered All Star Tempura Teishoku and Banana Caramel Milkshake. Both are money for value especially the latter, yummy! It's a balance mix of milk and caramel. The Tempura tastes good as well, and I like the variations.

Their tendons are authentic. They are close to the the tendons I've had in Japan in terms of taste, texture, and portion. Complimentary rice tea upon request. Very warm and accommodating servers. Casual ambience. The only bit that lacked a little is their dessert selection. Too few and nothing really interesting apart from the cute Ningyo Yaki, a sweet pancake-like fluffy bread shaped into little bears filled with either Nutella or Dulce de leche. It was rubbish. Do yourself a favor and please don't try that. I hope they upgrade their dessert selection.
Definitely one of the better tempura restaurants I've eaten in. The shrimp to batter ratio is just right (most Japanese restaurants I've tried mask the small size of the shrimp with an overwhelming amount of tempura batter). I ordered the Asakusa special. I didnt have to wait long for my order to arrive but when it did, it wasn't as hot as expected - though still crunchy. I especially liked the green beans. I paired it with a side order of potato salad. Servers were attentive to our needs and responded quickly. Overall, good experience, will definitely consider going back to try the other choices in the menu.
I had the chance to check out another branch of Tenya Tempura Tendon. This tis around we ordered their Classic Tempura Tendon, Chicken Mayo Tendon and their Strawberry and Mango Shake. Tendon Bowls were masarap without reservations while the shake was so creamy and tasted more of strawberry than mango, just a bit of reservation in here.
Personal rating for the restaurant:
Food: 3.0

Tenya's the one restaurant I've been to that's a no-fail hit whenever I bring anyone new along - even my girlfriend's picky little sister and hard-to-impress brother had a great time. The service is fast, the food is consistent, the waiters are kind. My go-to is the Asakusha special - it has everything a tempura-lover would enjoy. The batter adds flavor to the seafood and vegetables; unlike in other restaurants where the batter turns the dish bland. The tempura sauce is the icing on the cake. I lost count of how many times I've come here. Looking forward to coming again!!
once we saw that a tenya branch will open at bgc, i knew we had to visit. tenya is one my favorite restaurant ever since my japan days. that time i wished tenya would come to the philippines and after 15 years it came true. we all got all star tempura with cold udon. and as usual we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Cust serv is superb! Oishi but a lil expensive. Food selection is limited. I love the layout of their resto. Taste is 4/5, Value for Money is 3/5, Ambiance is 5/5 & service 5/5
Wow, super attentive waiters and waitresses, very polite, very nice and always smiling. Good food, nothing that really stands out of the ordinary as in Japanese cuisine. Nice touch with their kids meal, they have included FUN with the meal and a free ice cream pop for the kid. Very Kid Friendly in fact. Love the noodles, its perfect, right texture its not soggy yet not tough and chewy as well its just right. In total I had a great time mostly because of the staff. :)
