A juicy, hamburger...regardless of nationality, this food speaks of so many stories of everyone's ups or downs, epic and fail moments, and legen...you know what I mean.
Now, we've been well accustomed to our traditional fast food chains in the metropolis, from the very commercial types (Mickey D's) to the "Kanto" style ones which are buy-one-take-one P25, and even the gourmet ones ranging from P500-up adding foie gras & other what have you's on top.
Then there are those "Burgers by Design", which would be none other than Brother's Burger. This burger delicatessen (in my eyes), has been around for the past decade, introducing us to their juicy, 100% all-beef patties, giving us the concept of 1-pound hamburgers. I mean, let's face it, we're used to 1/3 lb. or 1/4 lb. patties, but making it 1-pound, they certainly paved the way for that direction.
I'm always excited as well on how progressive Brother's Burgers' menu has become through the years. From serving specialty sandwiches like Philly Cheesesteaks, the Manileño, Chicken/ Fish sandwiches, and also adding the concept of Burger Steak meals and salads, these have come a long way. And let's not forget the designer burgers they introduced a few years back which had the likes of Philippine Fashion Guru, Rajo Laurel "designing" a burger for them.
Indeed, besides the innovation, they're here to fulfill your burger cravings.
BROTHERLY LOVE (+)
- their designer burgers
- those sides, especially their Onion Rings
- is it just me, but their Mayonnaise is really uniquely Brother's Burger. I mean, their Mayo fits all their meals to a T.
- Patty flavor. A burger is a burger because of it's patty. I wouldn't mind eating one with just that and the buns, but it's the center masterpiece that is a handcrafted Hamburger. And their patties deliver the flavor
- innovation & creativity. They may not market themselves as often or as much, but WOM certainly has Brother's Burger being placed right on top with other burger joints
- their yearly Brother's Burger price mark down. Every year, to commemorate their anniversary, they serve their Brother's Burger with the price it had when they first opened. A clever strategy, and a good treat for its patrons.
THE CAIN & ABEL EFFECT (-)
- I say this a lot with fast food chains...consistency on the quality of the food. I've encountered some instances where a branch has a bigger serving of their Onion rings versus another, and other items.
- ever-increasing prices. I understand how inflation & peso-dollar rates plus economy changes have affected the prices of raw goods used to purchase ingredients for their establishment...but, they're slowly reaching prices which should make them a fine dine resto, and not a fast food chain.
- have more branches! Haha.
A BROTHER's BIAS:
- I'm particularly a fan of their Blues Burger (perfect combo of Bleu cheese, mushrooms, bacon and their 1/3 lb patty), Onion Rings (best with their mayo), Brother's Pounder (eat the 1st half today, bring the 2nd half to work the next day) and their Black Angus Burger (grade A patty, best burger out there that's readily available across the metro)
The ANIMO WAY:
On a final note, I'm proud this establishment is a product of Lasallian ingenuity and creativity, it being owned and started by some Lasallian alums. But, regardless of their origins, I'm happier knowing they serve a legacy of providing us good burgers, good times, and good foodie experiences.
So, go and grab a good one with your Bro.
Cheers!
