Whoa! What do we have here? Coffee shop on soft launch? I must check it out.
Book & Borders is the 55-seater new kid on the block along Tomas Morato. Combine a fairly big coffee shop with a Power Books branch and this is probably what it will look like --- darn good combination, really. :)
Coffee is good with pastries and breakfast menu created by Chef Edward Mateo. Drinks are priced from 120 pesos and up for you java lovers and pastries go from 60 pesos to breakfast selections at 180 to 220 pesos.
The ambiance is great! Clean and neat all around. Colorful seats, wood finish tables, an interior dominated by books and shelves will invite long conversations between friends. The music playlist is dominated by jazz, bossa, and instrumentals. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Sadly, there's no WiFi yet so you're better off bringing your own pocket 4G/LTE device if you want to get some work done here. Place is right beside a 7-11 so you're pretty much covered for your sudden convenience store needs.
I enjoyed my coffee break here. I'll definitely go back for more snaps and coffee next time I'm in the Tomas Morato and Timog area.
Sitze dort seit 1 Woche und lese die angebotenen Bücher ..... besucht hauptsächlich von Studenten, die dort ihren Stoff durcharbeiten. Alles ist sehr ruhig. Lange Öffnungszeit, kein Bier, diverse Smoothies, kalte und warme Tees und Kaffee-Getränke sowie kleine Gerichte (Paste, Sandwiches)

It was our first time coming to the place with the kids. I liked the ambiance & the staff were friendly. Wifi connection is also good. My only dilemma was the limited parking spaces in the area & the choices of food for my eight-& five-year-old kids which were also limited. But all in all it was a great experience,!�
Had our baby's first birthday celebration in the Morato branch. The place was perfect for a HP themed party. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food servings were hearty. We recommend throwing your parties here!
We also went on several occasions to eat and we loved the ambience. It's cozy and quiet, perfect for having a chill time. Our baby loved the books too.

Went there earlier today and was very much satisfied with everything - the food (and the free coffee that came with it!), the ambience, the menu (can't wait to go back to try the rest!), and the overall feel of the place :) It's welcoming and homey yet one can still feel pretty much productive/in the mood to get some stuff done. Haven't checked out the book selection since I went to study, but it looks pretty impressive, too. Looks like I found a new favorite cafe <3
Me and my friend went there earlier today. We wanted to check out the place so we did. We were definitely not disappointed. The place is amazing! of course our eyes automatically were spellbound by the bookshelves full of books and cute stuff. Haha! We had our lunch there. The pasta & clubhouse sandwiches were pretty good. A bit expensive for me but their big serving of those made up for it. The frappes were lovely. i wished the glasses were taller. Lol. The only downside really is the comfort room. My friend told when she was in there.. there was an impatient knocker. The person probably wanted to have a confession with brother ahahajk

We were trying to find a cozy place in McKinley and found this cafe in Tuscany. It’s a perfect spot as they have couches, books, and wi-fi. This is a great place for you to just spend your time while having a good cup of coffee. The place is homey with lots of interesting spots to have a photo taken. Each corner is Instagramable indeed.
Looking for a place to have my breakfast and discovered this simple and cute place. It's always nice to go to a place where you can just relax, read a book or eat.
I ordered their bestseller, Adobo Flakes with Garlic Rice and the taste was satisfying plus they're really generous with the serving. Will definitely come back to try other dishes. :)
I ordered Pesto Pasta with Chicken Parmigiana. Serving size was good for its price. Chicken was flavorful, although the pasta was a bit oily. Food: 4/5

It was one Sunday morning when we were looking out for a breakfast place in the neighborhood. We came across Books and Boarders and decided to give it a try.
📌 Ambiance
If you adored books and enjoys quiet time with them, this place is for you. They have varieties of books to choose from while waiting for your order to arrive or to stay back for a while for some "me time". Being an IG-worthy place is also a plus! There are outlets on the 2nd floor that makes it a good alternate workspace.

We got Adobo Flakes, Corned Beef and Omellette (not the full name shown at the menu). Servings were generous and taste good too.

Haven for bookworms. Also great for those wanting a place to think, be creative and work. Staff is very courteous and service is great. The food leaves something to be desired though but the drink options are good enough. Perfect place for those who love a reserved, comfortable space conducive to reflection and instrospection.

We came in looking for something to do on a rainy Friday afternoon. I'm surprised they occupy such a big space in Tuscany. This cafe has 2 floors. I love that it's bright and spacious, in contrast to the predominant dark interiors Starbucks, CBTL, and Bo's has right now.
We tried their matcha cheesecake and mango vanilla smoothie. My son loved the cheesecake. For me it needs more matcha. It's not much of a cheesecake, no tangy taste, but I liked it too and will probably order it again. Maybe call it something else. Although it did only say matcha on the display. But I asked the cashier and she said cheesecake. The smoothie tasted like it's made with a powder mix. I can tell, but maybe some can't. But masarap din naman. Needs more mango flavor. Maybe needs real mango haha.
Service was great, we were greeted warmly by the manager and crew. My daughter knocked over the smoothie glass and they cleaned it without any complaints or parinig. I was offering to pay for it but they said I didn't need to. I left them a bigger tip instead, mostly for the hassle of cleaning it up.
One of the best cafes I know in the Metro. Books & Borders at Mckinley has the fastest wifi and the most homey-vibe cafe I ever been too. The staffs are also very welcoming. Food is great and their signature hot chocolate is always amazing.
The food is okay but you gonna wait for too long before the order is served. The place is good tho but they should also update their menu here.
Their flavored hot chocolate is a recommend 👌🏽 I once tried all flavored hot chocolates and they’re all good. I prefer the cinnamon flavored one because it is the richest in taste among all of them.
We've been planning to visit this place because of the name of the Cafe. my partner and I are fan of Cafe's that offer something different like books and games. Book & Borders Cafe did not disappoint me when it comes to food and chocolate drinks 😍. We taste different types of foods and they all passed in my choosy taste buds. I see no books on the Cafe on the ground area.
on the 2nd floor, I see some books on the shelf but I think some covers are somewhat not maintain well by some customers, I guess. I haven't checked if they have comic books too. I think it will be more fun if they have comic books like Archie's etc. for customers who will only have a quick coffee breaks. We only stay there for a quick date so we need to leave coz we have an early work on the next day but we will definitely visit here again to have a coffee, a slice of cake while checking some of their books.
What I love about B&B is the ambiance! It's very cozy plus it's perfect for those who want to review for their school, business meetings, something like that. I tried their Chicken Parmigiana. I just forgot the price tho. Super nakakabusog and mabigat sa tiyan. And I also tried their iced matcha (forgot kung latte ba or smoothie). What I noticed with that drink is that hindi siya color green and hindi lasang matcha. I asked one of their staffs nung 2nd na balik ko. Sabi ko matcha yung order ko, hindi vanilla! Sabi niya matcha raw yun. Sinusukat nila yung matcha powder na nilalagay nila pero sana naman lasang matcha and madidistinguish agad na matcha yung drink 😂 (sorry, matcha lover here). And as in vanilla lang yung nalasahan ko sa matcha drink ko that time. I also tried one of their brownies pero it's super sweet! :( my cousins tried their red velvet cake. over all, okay naman yung experience sa B&B 😊
Medyo mahal ang breakfast meals nila. Nasarapan ako sa Corned beef dahil may extra herby na spices. Kaso, naiisip ko ang kasama kong hindi magugustuhan kung lasang-lasa ang gulay. Medyo maalat ang Fried Tuyo with Kesong Puti Pasta nila, pero hindi naman ako naumay.
Walang masyadong tao sa mga oras na kumain ako rito kaya tahimik at masarap magtrabaho o magbasa. Marami ring saksakan kaya di mag-aagawan. Hassle nga lang kung sa taas ka kasi mahirap manghingi ng tubig o ano pang kailangan dahil madalang lumapit ang mga waiter.

This is a mini library and a cafe at the same time. You can read books for free while eating your favorite food there. I noticed most of the books were for kids. As expected, the place is clean, and it is quiet (but not boring). Cool ambience.
I ordered Truffle Mushroom. Serving is small (see picture). The taste is so so. A bit pricey.
Service is fast and the staff were attentive. I am just satisfied.
Nice quiet place for coffee and dessert! Love the cakes we ordered, the chocolate cake was not too sweet just the right level of sweetness. Love the combination of texture in the carrot cake, just pls. add more cream cheese in the frosting.
I got curious over this branch in the Tuscany area and to my surprise it really is good to chill and hang out in this restaurant. Their chicken pesto pasta is well seasoned and cooked that I enjoyed every bite of it. Their iced latter washed it up perfectly for me to enjoy my time and meal here in this place. I may consider going back here for several occassions on meet ups.
I had a walk yesterday afternoon at Tuscany Estate, Mckinley Hill and Books & Borders Cafe catch my attention maybe because I love books 😜 and the cafe is bright, modern and looks spacious. They also have free wi-fi. Yehey! 💻📱

The Quattro Cheese was served in a hot bowl, fresh from the oven and it taste good. But I find their cakes and pastries was a little bit pricey compare to other cafes. 🍝🧀

I don’t consider the food memorable. But I’ll say it’s reasonable. The price, better reconsider. You might as well opt for the carinderia tapas. Taste barely differ
Service crew were nice and very accommodating. Perfect for my valentine date with my girlfriend. Barbecue Liempo and Tempura taste good. WiFi is also fast.
Love the ambience of this cafe. Wanna go back here or maybe try the other branches. Staff are very attentive and accommodating. Very quiet place and good place for relaxation after work.

Coffee and books? What more can I ask for? ❤️ Books and Borders have always been on my list of must-visit cafès! Went here with Norman Lester T and Edison A for a quick Friday night dinner. ☺️
The place is bright and homey, I absolutely loved the place. Being a bookworm and a coffee addict, this place is definitely heaven on earth for me!

Breakfast plates are my absolute fave, no matter if it's lunch or dinner. Their French Toast was delicious, but I just can't help comparing it to a french toast on another restaurant that I've tried which was really 💣! - Hence, the 4 hearts. But it was amazing nonetheless, the toast had the right crispyness and fluffiness. Also, the bacon was great! I was expecting bacon strips but theirs seemed like bacon slabs already. 😁
Seafood Aligue Pasta a la Carbonara (250php) - ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Okay, this one was legit! Legit aligue I tell you! We felt like having a cholesterol-induced heart attack with every bite! It was that sinful. The thick creaminess and the unmistakeable aligue flavor in the pasta was TDF! 😍
Fried Tuyo with Kesong Puti (195php) - ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved this one, too! Srsly I loved everything we ordered. 😁❤️ The pasta was al dente and the consistent saltiness did it. Though the dish was bathing in oil, it was still amazing to the tastebuds.
Salted Hot Chocolate (125php) - ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So I decided to take a break from consuming too much caffeine and ordered a cup of hot chocolate istead. No regrets! It was decadent and rich, I loved that you could taste the "salted" in it. Heehee. Plus it comes with a separate serving of whipped cream, it's nice that they served it separately so you yourself can control how much you'd like to put in your drink for the thickness.
One noteworthy thing that I really loved was the huge servings! All the dishes we ordered came in huge helpings. 👌🏻 The ambiance is light and quiet. A good alternative from your usual Friday night out. ❤️
Went here on a friday night and it's not surprisingly full. There were less than 5 customers inside. Guess people are partying that night. I only had a muffin since I just had a big cup of tea. But I was able to taste my friends' food. Relaxing ambiance and they have a friendly staff. They even offer to take us a picture. Food was pretty decent and budget friendly.
Queso de bola cheesecake is good as a sampler of the pastries available here. Got the tuyo pasta which was a tad bit spicy and salty though the ginger raspberry iced tea helped to "wash" it off. I had expected the house to be slightly downplayed, given the environment to encourage reading -- though it might have to do with enabling customed turnover.
Good for coffee, great for studying, having a chat or needing a place to relax and enjoy pastries. The ambiance is great for having company and just talking.
This coffee interest us when we passed by Mckinley hill when we saw the books inside. The place has a relaxing vibe because of the comfort that their coffee brings complimented with their cool playlist mostly love songs. There are plenty of books that you can freely read. Power outlets are available to charge your gadgets, one of the important things coffee shops miss. This is a nice place to either chill or study.
I ordered café mocha. The taste is just plain and bold but I liked the smooth texture of it. The serving is not that generous for the price though.
The ambiance was relaxing alongside with their playlist. Good for chilling with friends or even solo because they have plenty of books to read. We ordered lemon grass chicken and adobo flakes and matcha smoothie for our dessert. It was good. Also, their pesto pasta is a must try!
Considering the usual small-sized establishments along Tuscany, this 2-storey cafe is quite inviting. I love their grilled mozarella. Their desserts are priced same with other established cafes however come in small serving.

Me and my friends were here to study for out term test. Upon entry, their seats were so nice and lighting was bright(great impression). Most of all, the people were so respectful of each other. Quiet, doing their job, in contrast to people in SB or CBTL(Well I know those places are for chatting). Thus, BnB is the best place to do work and study, reading books(as its name suggests). Moreover, their prices are reasonable.
However, the music became noisy and the genre changed to some rock music over time.. Which was really irritating. I dont know who controls such but it was really disturbing. Of course I asked them to lower it down, but it came back after minutes. But then after all the complaining, they did lower it and changed the genre to a finer one that you would hear in restos like Mama Lou's. Please, BnB, remember you're classified as a 'Book Cafe', where people are meant to read, and do some work over some coffee.
Everything else, though, was nice. I'd want to comeback here for sure.
I really love its concept wherein I can work and read at the same time. I love it because I can borrow some books and I can sip a good coffee at the same time. Also, the cakes are good. Indeed, I can rest here for an entire day.
Actually the idea of having books around while enjoying a coffee is great! Pasta with the pesto is so so but the desert is yummy.. This place is very like you're at home. It's worth a try.
These days, cafes are opening up here and there, and the Manila crowd is truly spoiled with options. One of the newest cafes to open in the Mckinley block, Book & Borders, offers bookworms and individuals with the affinity for quieter spaces complete with great food, cozy interiors, and good company.

A place for reading books! Really, they have a library and I bet you can even borrow them for they have tracking cards inside. It's also nice for doing papers and other schoolworks, I saw a couple of students and yuppies when I visited. They serve decent coffee, though I only had a plain iced americano, kind of steep but the interior made up for it. Very homey and the staff were accomodating. I also had a slice of the Matcha cake, the white chocolate on top was too sweet - I actually had to scrape it off so it tastes bearable.

The food we ordered (Chicken pesto pasta, Spam and egg with garlic rice paired with their Iced cafè lattè and Iced chocolate mocha) the ambience, the menu (can't wait to go back to try the rest!), and the overall feel of the place. The café is cozy and had that ‘chill’ feels. It's welcoming and homey yet one can still feel the bookworm vibe to get some reading done. Haven't checked out the book selection since Its our reunion so we played their snakes and ladders board game, but it looks pretty impressive, too.
Nice tiny place for coffee. They have comfortable seats to chat or work on. They also have friendly servers. They are a cool place to read books while having coffee.

My Matcha drink was customized because they did not offer an iced version of their Matcha Latte, only a smoothie and hot one. It's good that they entertain slight deviation from their menu. However, it tasted more milky than matcha flavored and was too sweet for my liking.
The Flat White was perfect,in my opinion. It had the perfect balance of the bitterness of the coffee and sweetness of the milk, and did not even need sugar.
The Lemon Ginger tea was refreshing, but i wouldnt recommend it for thise who are not big fans of the ginger flavor.
The Salted Caramel Brownie was hard. It was tough to cut into and bite and was too chewy, which i did not like. We did not even fonish the small square served to us. However, it wasnt too sweet contrary to what i expected.
I forgot what particular cheesecake we ordered and the menu provided by Zomato herein did not provide for the cake menu so i wouldnt be able to point out what it was but just refer to the picture. It was rich in chocolate but the cheesecake itself wasnt overpowering and over-all balanced each other out.
I heard a lot about their tuyo pasta from friends I was so excited to try it but sadly I was in a hurry and everybody is so busy as the Book & Borders opens at Tuscany McKinley that I didn't had the chance to other it. I tried some of their pasta and Iced tea and I loved it.

Me and my friends tried Book & Borders Cafe, the ambiance was good and it's best if you don't have anything to do and you just want to kill time. We enjoyed our stay because you can borrow books just like you're in the library 😍
Foods were great and heavy! Ordered one chicken penne pasta and wasnt able to finish it. Also, Guava Iced tea was amazingly delicious. And kudos to the staffs and crew for being so accommodating. See you all next time.. :)

Book cafes appeal so much to the public lately as this whole "coffee shop + books in the shelves" concept offers a unique dining experience. Book & Borders Cafe is one of those and it's definitely an interesting addition to the growing number of restaurants and cafes in McKinley Hill.
This two-floor cafe is very inviting. It's quiet, naturally lit, and the interiors look
clean. Book lovers can lounge here for hours. But aside from reading books, I can say that it's a cool place to hang out with your favorite people. There are a few board games that you can play with.
As for the food and drinks, I was able to try:
• Long Black Coffee (110 PHP) - I loved the taste. It wasn't too acidic. The price vs. the cup size was reasonable. Milk on the side can requested but non-fat / low-fat isn't available.
• Belgian Revel Bar (70 PHP) - Not a huge fan of this. The texture was hard, it wasn't moist at all. I had to push the fork harder to cut it.
Aside from coffee and pastries, meals like all-day breakfast plates, pastas, and salads are available. I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.
The shop opens at 9AM.
Book and Borders Cafe finally brings their books and board games to BGC! It's a nice concept where you can go a coffee shop and relax with a book in hand or enjoy a board game or 2 with the rest of the barkada.
We came here a bit late so we had both the hot chocolate (Php 120) and the salted hot chocolate (Php 125). Both drinks were rich and dense, but I found the regular hot chocolate a bit more appealing. There was just too much salt in the salted version.
Service was nice and accomodating despite it being quite late in the evening and I love the concept a lot!
