Sophie Says steak on!!!

The Grind Bistro steak is absolute heaven!
It was cooked medium rare and arrived in all its luscious glory - screw the asparagus, they said it was good too - but the meat was perfection.

It's a little pricy, but you have to pay for delicious quality food - right?

I went to this place several times - with my hooman - he got drunk and wasted so I ate some of the beef.

They also have burgers - which are fairly priced and get this, potato chips while waiting. I repeat - While, waiting.

The place is chill af and the staff are all well trained - very polite and accommodating.

Love this place, can't wait to see where they will be relocated to in the next couple of weeks - worth a couple more visits!!!

And that's what Sophie Says!

One of the key components to a burger is the bun and by far these are the best brioche buns i ever had, you can tell that they’re freshly made in-house without holding back on the quality. Currently one of the best tasting burgers in Manila and they know how to cook their meat “perfectly”. I Would also recommend their milk shakes with a hint of alcohol goes great with their burgers.

Great food, milkshake, ambience, and service made for a delightful Sunday dinner.

I went to Grind Bistro because the burger-lover in me just had to try theirs out. I ordered the Double Double which had double patties, cheese, and bacon. The burger itself was delicious: the flavor combination was great, each ingredient can be tasted separately, the buns were fresh, and as were the meat and the veggies. While the patty was good (fresh, juicy, beefy-flavor), I felt like it was underseasoned. It was a bit 'overcooked' as well, as I asked for it to be cooked medium-rare, but it came out medium. I wished they served more of the side pickles as they were very good. Chips were okay, nothing special.

Truffle Mac & Cheese was as you would expect. Pasta was nicely cooked and al dente, and the sauce was creamy and cheesy. The truffle taste is very evident, but not at all overpowering. I thought we would get tired of the taste after a while, but we did manage to finish it even without drinking alcohol to cut the fatty taste.

The Malted Chocolate Milkshake was really good (now one of my favorites)! You can taste the malt at first sip, then the chocolate soon after. For those of you who likes their milkshake smooth, theirs were blended really well and is without ice or chunks. It was a bit too sweet, though, and it would be better if it were more chocolatey. The Carrot Cake Cheesecake was a bit disappointing, though. It looked good, tasted okay, but was expecting more based on it's description. I don't see or taste how it's a combination of carrot cake and cheesecake. It's like normal carrot cake, but a bit denser.

The staff was warm, accommodating, and service was quick. The place looked nice, felt spacious, and is PWD-friendly. Restroom was spacious and clean.

The Grind Bistro. A restaurant tucked in the middle of a plethora of restaurants in Net Park. With it's neighbors being Chotto Matte, Motorino Pizza, Souv! by Cyma, Wildflour, Locavore, (the always fully booked) Manam, and more... You would think that the Grind would have quite the competition. But it seems that The Grind Bistro has something to offer that you won't find in these other restaurants and that is a chill vibe where you can relax while you enjoy your food.

I mean no offense to the other restaurants surrounding the area as they are also amazing in their own right, but what sets apart The Grind from the others is that, again, it is more laid back and the food they offer is just perfect especially after handling a week of of stress. You can just imagine going through a hellish week and you treat yourself on a Friday night after work to a savory Cubano sandwich or maybe their Corned Beef on Rye or if you feel like tasting their best selling burgers, yes... burgers, meaning different ones, without breaking the bank... You can try their slider samplers. The Slider Trio which features their 3 best selling burgers: their signature Grind Burger, the Black Chicken sandwich, and the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Make no mistake, this place is not just a burger and sandwich joint. They have plate meals too for those who feel like they need to indulge either their sadness or success from their week.  You can just check their menu and see for yourselves.

To add to the amazing food is the amazing service. The staff are very warm and welcoming and they don't seem to mind if you take a million years to decide what to order. For me though, the one that made my whole experience in Grind Bistro really awesome was their restroom. Not because it was nice or unique or anything like that. It's because when you look immediately to the left as you enter their restroom, you would see a picture of the greatest pun that I have heard that night. You'll see in the picture.I'd visit this place again if I had the time.

BIRTHDAY BRUNCH! 🎂🥂

Thanks to Grind Bistro, they started my birthday great with their awesome food! We had Naughty Eggs Benedict and Grind Burger. My boyfriend also ordered Chicken and Waffles for dessert.

Their Eggs Benedict was really naughty because it's that spicy for my palate. The meat of the Grind Burger was mouth watering. My boyfriend thought that the chicken in Chicken and Waffles was burned. Haha. I just told him that it was just blackened. The waffle is to DIE FOR!

I absolutely love this place! I’ve been here on 3 separate occasions and they have never disappointed me.

If this is your first visit, I would recommend their burgers. They’re awesome!

If you can’t decide which one to get, order the sliders , so you get 3 mini burgers of different variety. If I can recall correctly, you will receive mini versions of their Grind Burger, Black Chicken Burger and Pulled Pork, I think.

The last one I mentioned I’m not so sure, but nevertheless, I remember indulging all 3 sliders with much gusto. Each bite I took was heaven in my mouth. It was really comforting! Get a side order of fries to complete your meal.

Prices are expensive, which is why I don’t come here frequently. However, if I feel like treating myself to delicious American comfort food, this the place I would go to.

Download the Big Dish app so you can get discount on their food. They’re half off between 4 to 5pm!

They also have an extensive wine selection, if you’re into drinking wine. Great ambiance too. Sleek and modern.

💕Date for Two: Poke Nachos, Good Morning Bacon Steak, Crispy Chicken Wings, Iced Tea, Pastrami Sandwich, Truffled Mac and Cheese

💌Total: P2125

Overall:A newbie in the food scene, Grind Bistro entered F&B business on full bloom last year. It is located at Net Park Building, just a few steps away from High Street. From the outside, a high-ceiling restaurant greeted us, and took us in on a breeze.

Welcome to Grind Bistro. This is our first time to go this part of BGC, we were actually confined previously to just roaming around High Street area, so we went a little more further and found this posh place at Net Park.

Coordinated and uncoordinated tables and chairs, statement wall arts, stunning ceiling and lights made up this modern temple of foodies. One look, and we knew we’re up for something great.

While we were led to our table, these babies caught our attention. Tempted to order some of these but it’s lunch time, we need to focus on that. Nyaha.

Next to the bar counter is this little wine cellar that houses quite a number of bottle selection. This covers the entire kitchen and below this is where our orders comes out.
We thought they have this upper floor for more dining spaces/private function area. This one’s the way to the Chef’s Table. Lovely wall art right there.

We got curious and asked one of the waiters if we can take a peak. We literally took just a peak. Haha! We can see the Chefs in action, busy preparing for our foods. The area is spacious and clean.

View from the stairs. Those warm colors dominates the look of the entire resto. We cannot stop gazing up on those lights, they’re a stellar view to look at. On with the food now.

Poke Nachos (P495) – Ahi tuna marinated in soy chili and sesame, local chevre, orange and wasabi tobiko, pico de gallo, taro and sweet potato chips. This is a fresh take on Poke bowls. It’s a health-buff’s dream dish. The tuna is well seasoned, simple yet delicately good. The classic and wasabi-flavored flying fish roe is magnifique! This bowl is definitely one for the books.

Pastrami Sandwich (P395) – house-cured wagyu brisket, truffle gouda, pommery aioli on rye bread. Not only the meat is bursting from the inside, this sandwich boosts flavorful play of spices, and the gouda cheese is the cherry on top. This comes with a cup of oh-so-good potato chips. Of all the foods we got, we finished this one first. We just can’t stop munching those chips!

Crispy Chicken Wings (P295) – sriracha-spiced wings, blue cheese dressing. Sriracha-flavored wings is coming in so fast at our country’s food scene. This crispy, decadent wings are the star of the table. Not to mention how affordable it is considering the quality and quantity, it became our personal pick above Frankie’s.

Good Morning Bacon Steak (P350 each) – house-cured bacon steak, sunny side egg, garlic rice, atchara. A perfect rectangle bacon steak arrived last. We expected something really overly tasty like the bacon slab from Poco Deli. It was a bit unsuccessful. Maybe because of the name, it heightened our hopes. It was more to us as a simple grilled pork belly. Nonetheless, the meat is tender and rich.

Truffled Mac and Cheese (P350) – truffled pastas never let us down, mac and cheese never let us down. We love truffle pasta, and we definitely adore mac and cheese. So when we saw this in the menu, our heart skipped a beat. This. Is. The. Ultimate. Mac. And. Cheese. We. Had. Can we order two more? And invisible tummy expansion set please? Lol.

Iced Tea (P120 each) – we got this strawberry-ish iced tea, not overly sweetened. We muddled the lemon right away so the extract can blend right in.

Overall, food and ambiance are top-notch. Service needs a bit of improvement.

Value for money: For some seriously good food and great place, this is a worthy date place restaurant. The extra bucks can hurt a bit but it’s worth it! 😉

Tried their Naughty Eggs Benedict. Indeed naughty is the right name as it was basically super meaty, tasty, topped with poached eggs on a muffin. Salad on the side somewhat neutralized the meat packed meal, but this is definitely not for the faint of heart. Service was good as the chef made an exception of making me eggs benedict when it was past the time period they're supposed to make them (only between 8am-5pm). The rating was only 4 as I could not exactly taste the hollandaise sauce while I was eating the heavy meal (tried it before I started the meal, lacked that zest?) and the other 0.5 point goes down to how thick the meat was in there (not the traditional parma ham). It was more like a burger with eggs. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it still. If you're a big fan of meat, this is the place to go on the usual and will hardly be let down. Value was also good - value for money.

Celebrated my husband’s birthday here because he likes burgers, and the Grind Burger absolutely did not disappoint! We had it split into two so we can share (and try other dishes.) We also ordered the mac and cheese, which I found too parmesan-ish. We felt bitin so we added an order of the popcorn shrimp with wasabi aioli: this was a surprisingly good choice! I didn’t notice I’ve finished it before I could take a photo (goes well with a glass of wine too!)

Their wines are from Wine Depot, so they have a pretty satisfactory list, too bad the wine all you can wasn’t available at that time. (So call ahead if you’re coming to Grind for unli wine.) lastly we had the deconstructed tiramisu that the kitchen added a happy birthday writing to. Awesome experience and would love to try their other offerings. Thank you! ❤️

Grind Bistro is relatively new in the BGC foodie scene. They occupy a space in the building next door - Net Park. I have been meaning to try Grind for quite sometime but my desire to go home after clocking out is far much greater than my curiosity.

After x number of months, Reich goes to Grind. Nevermind the beastly weather, no one can stop me!

I love how cozy the interior is. This is an ideal place where you can dine with your significant other. The lighting screams intimate and private. I am digging the high ceilings and the eclectic decor.

Grind is an American Bistro and was conceptualized out of love for comfort food. What makes them stand out, you ask? Everything is made in house. Yes...everything. From the almond butter down to the iced tea. And get this? All of their ingredients is sourced locally. The owner, Cristina Carl is an advocate of supporting local farmers and has a high regard of the quality of their products. Yeah, i was surprised to hear that. It is not common for restaurants to use local ingredients (except for the farm to table ones). Hearing this made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It is high time to show the world that PH is home to the most versatile ingredients and can keep up with ze other countries. I am glad that Grind is part of this movement.

This is a sponsored event and our generous host served a feast!

Tomato Bisque. The weather calls for a steaming bowl of tomato soup! I love how smooth the consistency of the soup is. Each spoonful is a wonderful mixture of flavours - the acidity from the tomatoes, the nuttiness from the pesto and the creme fraiche brings a lil tart to the soup.

Poke Nachos. Whenever i dine out, i avoid nachos like the plague. Why? Well....there is nothing special about it and i can make this at home - a bag of Tostitos and some salsa is all it takes. Grind’s Nachos is something else. First, the nachos is made from Taro and Sweet Potatoes. Dem veggies are sliced razor thin and cooked to perfection. The poke lies on the bed of carefully arranged crispy chips. It is a wonderful concoction of Ahi Tuna, pico de gallo, goat cheese, sesame and fish roe. This is an explosion of different textures and flavours in my mouth.

Grind Chips and Dip. I love chips of all shapes and sizes. East, West, North and South - i love em all. Add cheese in the equation then i will follow you till the end of time. This is how i feel about this dish. *mic drop*

Truffle Mac and Cheese. In x number of years of being a foodie, i only tried two that completely blew me away. I was really glad that i am finally revising my mac and cheese list. I am changing the ranking and placing Grind’s on the top spot - numero uno baby! I absolutely love the perfect balance of cheese and truffle. Cheesy x Earthy is music to my ears. Trust me when i say that each spoonful is magical.

Nutty Black Chicken. Once you go black, you can never come back. I know this doesn’t not relate to food but i kinda like my chicken black and nutty now and yasss.... i ain’t comin’ back boo. Don’t let the black discourage you, the way that the chicken is cooked is textbook. Juicy x flavourful. Condiments optional.

Grilled Hangar Steak. Steak cooked medium rare, asparagus fries and french fries. I enjoy a decent steak meal every now and then. Grind delivered. The meat is cooked to a tee - juicy and seasoned perfectly. This falls under the just okay category. It was good but doesn’t not merit a deluge of adjectives.

Double Double. I am seeing double 😳. Fresh off the oven brioche bun, Two juicy patties, cheese and some more cheese, a lil bacon and fresh green. A drizzle of some secret sauce here and there. And what do you get — The best burger in the metro.

Refreshments x Sweets

| Malted Vanilla Milkshake. I like my milkshakes unhealthy. None of those dairy free and sugar free wannabes. A milkshake should be rich, thick and creamy. Grind’s milkshakes is the shiz! I taste vanilla and malt in all its glory.

Lemonade with Raspberry. I am a fan of anything citrus. This drink is right up my alley. This drink tastes like summer, makes you wanna do a an impromptu song number and Jon Cryer is in it. Yeah, just like a John Hughes flick.

They also served:

| The Best Waffle You've Ever Eaten.
| Naughty Eggs Benedict.

I am pretty certain that the waffle and eggs ben is as awesome as the other dishes they served.

Overall, i was impressed with Grind. They knocked it out of the park! Everything they served is nothing but awesome. I love how they make simple dishes stand out.

Excellent Job, Grind!

The Grind Burger is really something else! You won't regret it. But there's one item on the menu you should NEVER order.

Highs:
•Grind Burger - it's not the signature dish for nothing, I would go there just for this! I like mine medium rare, try it medium. Don't ruin it with a well done patty. (Note: order fries separately because this comes with potato chips)
•Grind Dip + Chips - the dip is a deep dish of jalapeño cheese, super comforting, made me want to pull out my phone and watch Netflix while having dinner
•Ribeye Steak - they do it right, "no ragrets!"
•Grind House Sangria - caution: the cocktails at Grind don't fool around. They are legit!

Lows:
Chicken and Waffle - I'm so upset. This has no place in the menu. Please take it out!!! Or, keep the waffle because it was pretty good. When you eat the waffle with the Bourbon burnt butter ice cream and maple syrup slathered all over it, it's delicious. But as a waffle, as a syrup, as an ice cream alone -- they were all just okay. That blackened chicken, though, tasted like nothing but oil (and I'm Filipino, I love anything fried). Zero seasoning. Completely flavorless. Neither chicken nor batter tasted like anything at all. I was so disappointed and I'm clearly still upset. I love the Grind folks and respect what they do; I'm sure the concept of this was great but they (and you!) need to know that the execution of this dish is an absolute failure. DO NOT order.

I've always wanted to eat here but never really had the chance to do so because of the mixed reviews and I thought the dishes here are too pricey and there's nothing really special. The foodie gods may have heard my prayers because I got invited by China to join them for lunch. Yayyy!!! 🤗

With the dishes served to us, I was proven wrong. Not only were they good (and oh so very yummy and comforting), they were also not that pricey. Why only now, Ruth??? 🤔🙄😅 Haha!! Anyway, better late than never! 😉 Because I really enjoyed lunch, I can already see myself going back here (especially when I'm in need of good comfort food). And I seriously cannot wait to bring the boyfriend and my family here for lunch or dinner. And also, I need to go back to try their breakfast!! EGGS BEN!!!!!! 😊😁

PLACE 🏠
The place is nice and simple. It's kind of formal but not the super type. 😅 But it's not the fun type as well. Just nice and simple. Very chill and relaxing. Perfect for dates -- be it with your significant other, friends, or family. ☺️

FOOD🍴

OMG!!!!!! My favorites! 😍🏅🏆
🧀 TRUFFLE MAC & CHEESE (350) - sooooo good and comforting!!!! If you like mac & cheese and if you're a fan of truffle, this is a MUST TRY DISH!! I swear, soooo good. 💛
🧀 GRIND CHIP AND DIP (295) aka the ULTIMATE OMG I CANNOT CHEESE DIP - at first, you'll consider this as the usual cheese dip but idk, this was also extremely good and comforting, just like the truffle mac & cheese. Not cloying and I personally liked the jalapeño bits and ground beef added. Sarap!! The group loved and enjoyed this dip. 👌🏼

GOOD! 🤗🥈
🔸 TOMATO BISQUE (220) warm and oh so comforting. The soup is creamy and tasty. If only I am a fan of tomato soup, this would definitely be up there in my OMG list. 😆
🔸 GRILLED HANGER STEAK (795) - Not as tasty but still pretty good even without the gravy. Also, the beef was extra tender and was cooked just how I like it.
🔸GRIND BURGER (395) - they let us try the sliders and we all liked how cute they were! 😆 The bread was extra soft and tasty. However, the patty was just okay for me. It was not dry but not that juicy as well. Not super super tasty so you might want to ask for hmm ketchup?
🔸 NUTTY BLACK CHICKEN (595) - surprisingly good chicken dish. This is a good and yummy example of "do not judge a dish by it's appearance". It's black because of the squid-ink batter but wait till you get to try the juicy tasty chicken. Pairs really well with the coleslaw. 😉
🔸 MALTED VANILLA MILKSHAKE (225) - YUUUUMM! Not a fan of milkshakes but this was extra creamy, not super sweet, and just really good! First sip and I already texted my milkshake loving friend so she can try this ASAP!!! 🤗

JUST OKAY. 😀🥉
🔸 POKE NACHOS (495) - This was just okay for me. I love poke bowls and I love nachos. Really love them. But maybe I prefer them that way.. separately. The chips were good, a combination of taro, sweet potato, and potato chips. The tuna sashimi was also good, I just hope they added more! 😅 But overall, still a pretty good and interesting dish. 😉
🔸 WAFFLE aka THE BEST WAFFLE YOU'VE EVER EATEN (295) - Good but nothing special, imo. The waffle was kind of soft and not the "crunchy but with the inside still soft" kind. Also, since I am not a fan of anything sweet, I liked the fact that this was not at all sweet. For sweet lovers, you might want to pour the syrup and spread the whipped cream all over this waffle. 😅
🔸HALO HALO - good but nothing too extraordinary. The dulce de leche ice cream was good though. It's thick and creamy (and yummy! 😆).

SERVICE - Very very excellent! 💯💯💯

Another restaurant that gets a perfect 5 for me. Already saw this when I went for coffee on another place but I always see it in Net Park BGC and always peaked my interest. I rarely get a chance to try it cause I'm always in a coffee meeting with clients or models. I got a chance to try it through an invite with Zomato. It had a chill ambiance with it's interiors and it was moderately lit. It relies on the window light to fill the room and good for photos as well. We weren't able to take advantage of it since it was raining cats and dogs that day but I was able to take advantage of the bar light.

We had tons of delicious food served to us the Tomato Bisque(P220), Poke Nachos (P495), Grind Chip and Dip (P295, favorite), Truffle Mac and Cheese(P350, another favorite), Nutty Black Chicken(P595), Grilled Hangar Steak (P795), The Best Waffle You've Ever Eaten(P295), Double Double (P595), Grind Bistro Burger and Vanilla Bean Milkshake (P240) .

For the tomato bisque they serve us small mason jar cups containing the soup. True to it's name of "bisque" the tomato was rich and creamy coming from the sour cream like creme fraiche and the pesto. The Poke nachos was a mix of taro and sweet potato chips that had a dipping of ahi tuna, chili, local chevre, orange, wasabi tobiko and pico de gallo. We mixed all the ingredients to form the dip. Together with the dip, the nachos were splendidly delicious and unique compared to the other nacho appetizers I've tried.

Next served up we're one of my favorites the Grind chip and dip, it was jalapeno spiced warm cheese dip with homemade crisps. The crisps looked like a mix of nachos, wanton chips, and thin potato chips. I love dipping the chips to the jalapeno dip, the crispiness and warm cheesiness dances in your mouth and the extra kick of jalapeno was perfect for the rainy weather. It wasn't too spicy for the jalapeno, so non-spicy friends can get in to the treat.

The truffle mac and cheese was my biggest mistake that I forgot to take a photo of it as it's so good. That we started digging in the moment it landed. With sprinkles of home made bacon and an incredible amount of truffle that it's criminal. The mac and cheese has a gooey texture perfect for those IG worthy shots and an incredible amount of truffle umami taste that's out of this world.

Don't be deceived by the Nutty Black Chicken for it's dark appearance. It was hard to identify which part of the chicken it is but I think it was filleted. It's deceiving juicy and moist inside You can taste the nuttyness of the dish through the hazelnut romesco.

The Double double and Grind Bistro Burger was a staple delicious dish that caters to burger lovers everywhere. Locally sourced quarter lb. beef patties topped with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onions. The beef was meaty and flavorful because of the locally corn fed beef,

For dessert we had literally from the name itself "The BEST waffle you've ever eaten", fluffy on the inside crusty on the outside, what I imagined waffles in the tv would taste, in an actual real form. It was so tasty that I managed to eat almost a half for sharing.

Last but not the least and my most favorite drink is the Vanilla Bean Milk Shake. Home made ice cream mixed with real vanilla pods blended to a milkshake delicious treat. It would deceivingly look like your ordinary cookies and cream milkshake but what you will get is an out of body experience of sweetness and delight from it.

Favorites: Top1 truffle mac and cheese!~, Vanilla Bean Milkshake, Nutty Black chicken, Grind chip and dip, The best waffle ever.

Food 5/5- No contest truly deserves a 5 star rating.
Service 5/5- Servers were jolly and knowledgeable about the dish, they can even recommend you and guide you about the dish.
Ambiance 5/5- ambient light perfect for ig, a chill vibe with a luxurious feel to it.
Price 4.5/5- pricey for some of the items but good thing my favorites aren't that much

I've been seeing Grind Bistro in Net Park BGC but never really had the chance to visit. I would see their space packed during dinner time but barely full during lunch. We've had the chance to visit their other branch in SM Aura but I was not totally pleased with the overall experience. Good thing I believe in second chances!

I haven't found any restaurants (other than cafes) lately that I would really rave about with my friends and family... until I got to try Grind Bistro. This place isn't new at the BGC scene. Grind has been up and running for more than a year now and it serves American dishes.

With a high ceiling, modern interiors, wood panelings and wall arts, the place brings so much character and a level of sophistication.

On to the food.

1. Tomato Bisque (P220) - Their version of a tomato soup. It was definitely creamy and perfect with the rye bread and cheese it comes with. Perfect for the weather.

2. Poke Nachos (P495) - Poke, just to give a little bit of background, is a raw fish salad from Hawaii. This dish has got it going on! The ahi tuna was perfect, the chili and sesame was enough to have that kick of spice, local goat cheese was a smart move to add but would not be loved by all, orange and wasabi tobiko (those orange fish egg-like circles we see in the california maki) adds another dimension of texture, the pico de gallo (the salsa of the dish) brought everything together, and taro and sweet potato chips were a great twist to the normal chips.

3. Grind Chip and Dip (P295) - Can't get enough of this one! It is a simple chips and cheese dip but the thought process behind it was amazing. They added japalenos to spice it up and some ground beef for texture and flavor. Make sure to do your photos fast because it is best to eat it when the cheese is still fresh from the oven.

4. Truffle Mac and Cheese (P350) - This one is a new addition to their menu and it is delicious and mouthwatering! Creamy, thick and rich but its not overwhelming. You can eat the dish as is. You can taste the truffle and that homemade bacon bits were awesome! Delish!

5. Nutty Black Chicken (P595) - This looks weird but wait until you get to try it. It would blow you mind out! So the chicken is black because it was "tempura-ed" with squid ink. The dish comes with a coleslaw and a nutty sweet chili sauce.

6. Grilled Hanger Steak (P795) - It comes with some french fries and crispy asparagus fries (something new and exciting). The steak was nicely done, it was flavorful and tender. For me it does not need the gravy anymore. Well, I enjoy my steaks as is to get the best experience out of the meat.

7. Grind Burger (P395)/Double Double (P595) - It has cheese, bacon lettuce, tomato and onion. It also comes with some potato chips. Kickass burger I would say. Delicious, flavorful, juicy patty. A little info about the meat they use, it is all American beef that's corn fed. Every bite was tasteful!

8. The Best Waffle You've Ever Eaten (P295) - The waffle was done Belgian style (crispy outside, and soft and airy inside) with whipped cream, powdered sugar and real maple syrup. You can have the option to add some cured bacon for an additional P100.

8. Malted Vanilla Milkshake (P225) - One of the best i've tasted! It is made out of real vanilla, which justifies the price. The ice cream used was homemade. You can also have the option of having some alcohol in your milkshake people! LOL.

You'd really feel the love for food of the owners because everything (as much as possible) is made in house (e.g. bacon, breads, syrups, chips, ice cream, etc.).

Good thing to note as well is that they support the Laguna farmers as a source for their greens.

Grind.

It could be figurative  (ie daily grind) or literal ie they grind their own corn-fed meat here and everything from the dip to the bread, etc are home-made.

Here is a list of the  food we enjoyed yesterday at lunch  courtesy of Grind Bistro and Zomato :

Tomato Bisque P220 - perfect for the bed weather yesterday. The soup was rich, earthy and delicious. It made me crave for grilled cheese sandwich though

Poke Nachos P495 - ahi tuna, chili and sesame, local chevre (goat's cheese), orange and wasabi tobiko (flying fish roe) , pico de gallo ( chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, etc) taro and sweet potato chips.

Per Wikipedia, Poke is a raw fish salad usually served as an appetizer. Grind's Poke had a sweet citrusy pico de gallo.   The combination of all the elements especially the ahi tuna and chevre was wonderful and was quite refreshing on the palate. The taro and sweet potato chips  were a delight providing the texture to the beautiful salad.  The presentation was fun and whimsical  . It looked like a burst of happiness  on a gloomy day.

Grind Chip and Dip P295 -  Where the Poke Nachos brought out my inner poet (hahaha), the Grind Chip and Dip jolted me from my  musings with its  no-nonsense presentation. As is where is but that is not to say less delicious than the Poke Nachos. In fact, its cheese dip lured with its rich yellow color. And when we finally  ruined its serene surface with the home made crisps, there was no turning back until we' ve wiped it all out .  Gone in 60 seconds I think hahaha.

Cheese are locally sourced btw from Davao.

Naughty Eggs Benedict P395 - Now this is literally sunshine on the plate which we badly needed yesterday on account of  the gloomy vibe and heavy downpour outside. Unfortunately, we were not able to taste this. More reason for us to come back though :)

Truffle Mac and Cheese with home made Bacon P350 -- I guess we were all cheese fiends because the moment we took  our first bite, there was no stopping us until we wiped the plate clean . Seconds please hahaha

Nutty Black Chicken P595- Black tempura, hazelnut romesco, sweet chili sauce. The chicken was so black from the squid ink , I can not for the life of me discern which part of the chicken it was until it was sliced.  It was a unique dish. Ive never eaten a black chicken before not counting the real black chicken from the soup of King Chef Seafood in Banawe (check out my review in zomato for that).

Honestly,  I'm still at odds about it. Either you like it or you dont. I know I liked that it was surprisingly moist. I guess I was looking for layers and layers of flavor. Quite an intriguing dish.

Grilled Hangar Steak P795 with french fries, crispy asparagus fries. I loved both french fries and asparagus fries. Crispy and yum. The steak was juicy. The gravy was delicious. The portion was just   right.

The Best Waffle You've Ever Eaten P295  Belgian Style with whipped cream, powdered sugar and real maple syrup. It was crunchy on the outside and quite soft and fluffy inside. Order this with their house cured bacon P395
Double double P595 - Double patty, double cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion. Two words. Doubly Delicious. The corn fed beef was meaty juicy and flavorful. The brioche was freshly baked . The home made bacon provided another rich layer of flavor .Our piggery would love this.

Vanilla Bean Milk Shake P240 -  so gooooooood. From real vanilla bean pods, they made their own home made ice cream. The result was this white heaven in  a glass.
Ambiance :  I loved the high ceiling., the chairs of different sizes colors and make, the glass wall. I loved the hand painted (?) hand crank grinder on one wall. Do not forget to visit their restroom. It was pristine and had some fun quirky touches

Service. Very good.

Price : A bit high on some items but hey considering the quality of the ingredients which were all home made and the fact that  they were delicious, it is value for money.
Definitely coming back with the piggery :)

I've been in Manila for work a number of times and visited Grind for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is hands down the best "Western" restaurant I've been to during my time here. Even as a visitor who loves Filipino food, this is one of my favorite spots in the area. The portions are generous, the drink selection is admirable, and the prices are somewhere between reasonable and pretty cheap. Steaks are always perfectly done, the smoked chicken is awesome, and the onion rings are the best I've ever had. If I had to come up with some criticism, the cuts could have a little less fat, but I like a little gristle and I imagine most of the locals do too. If you're in BGC or anywhere in Makati-Taguig, you should make a point to get here.

PLACE:

The ambiance of the place is so cozy and kinda romantic.

FOOD:

Crispy Sriracha Wings : Wings are good but it seems like an ordinary buffalo wings for me. Don't get me wrong, I like it, its just that I'm expecting more given that it's named Sriracha wings than a simple buffalo wings.

Grind Bistro Burger : Burger was good. Patty is big and juicy. Chips on the side are okay. It was good but not good enough for its price.

Pasta : I can't remember what pasta did we ordered. If I'm not mistaken one was carbonara. Both of the pastas are just okay. Nothing special.

Molten Chocolate Cake with Peanut Brittle Ice Cream and Salt and Pepper Tuile : I didn't enjoyed it that much. Though the choco lava inside is gooey and lava-ish, I find it too sweet. Cake was too mamon-ish for me. I also prefer a simple vanilla or minty vanilla ice cream on my lava cale than a peanut brittle ice cream. Its like sweet on sweet.

SERVICE:

Staff seems to be accomodating

PRICE:

Quite expensive

VERDICT:

Did I enjoy it? - Yes
Will I recommend it? - Maybe
Will I come back? - No

This place knows its meat! It's hard to find a better slider in Manila...
I regularly order the grind meatballs with a side of Rye toast which is a perfect lunch.
The menu has a great range to choose from so you'll always find something to satisfy no matter what mood you're in.
Grind has great quality food at relatively low prices which seems to have struck a chord with the surrounding office workers... Despite the week days crowds the food and service has maintained its high standards.

The Grind Bistro is nothing new to the food industry in BGC. They have American food and the ambience is something we've all seen somewhere else.

But why did I rate them 4, this is because the food is superb! I ordered the Heat burger cos I wanted something spicy. It was not that spicy I didn't feel the kick. But the burger was awesome! Patty was pure beef and the potato chips on the side was yummy. I had lemonade with mint for my drink and it was OK. Do try their cheese dip honestly I forgot he name. But Im pretty sure the waitress will be able to assist you.

The food may take a while to be served because they are freshly cooked. But the wait is worth it. Food is really good. The crew was accommodating and always smiling. I like the fact that the crew is walking around with water pitchers with them and they refill empty water glasses as soon as they see it. I have been waiting for a restaurant to do this. For the customers to have access to drinking water anytime.

Keep up the good work The Grind! 😍😍😍😍

Love the ambiance and vibe from this restaurant.

Beautiful interiors, comfy seats and awesome service!

The chorizo burger caught my attention because it was under the "Quick Lunch" section. Being on an hour lunch break from work, I ordered it.

It was quick indeed! It was served to me in 10 minutes and was absolutely delicious. The black bun was not too sweet and was just enough to balance out the strong and heavy flavor of chorizo. The sriracha aioli was great, but it was way too spicy... and I love spice. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the burger. However, I like my spiciness on a level that's just enough to add excitement to each bite and not the kind where I'm gulping large amounts of water in order to make it to the next one.

If I have one suggestion for the chorizo burger, it would be to replace their cheese with old aged cheddar cheese. The strong flavor of that cheddar would compliment and elevate the weak flavor that fried egg usually contributes.

I usually get a wave of disappointment when I see that my food has potato chips instead of fries, but I really enjoyed their side of chips! The cut was just the right amount of thickness, not too salty, and most importantly - not too oily!

I'm excited to try the breakfast side of the menu and will definitely take advantage of that 499 peso "wine all you can"

An americanish cafe to eat out. I ordered a Carbonara Penne Pasta. Quite like the Pasta we have in India. Just had pork chips on top. It had grilled chicken and sauce was thick and creamy. Also ordered a salad which had huge lettuce leaves. The salad was not palatable but very healthy. Had lettuce leaves and goatcheese. Lacked spices and any dressing. The pasta was served with Garlic bread but I added chilli flakes on top as it was a little bland.

Went to Grind Bistro at Net Lima Building before I'll meet the Kaladkarin Gang in Chotto Matte and Izakaya Sensu for a dinner and few drinks.

The waitress assisted me in my table when I enter the Grind Bistro, she even put the table napkin in my lap.

For Php350.00 I got Cheese on Rye served with Tomato Soup.

Cheese on Rye - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

Tomato Soup - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

The modern interior of the Grind Bistro captivates me. It compliments with the neutral color of the restaurant.

Accommodating and provides good service even the dishes in their menu is a little bit pricey.

Grind is good as far as good goes but they didn't match the vibe of the layout , furniture and style to the lighting. I turn away based purely on the way to bright lights. Turn those down 30% and you have something. The rotational pictures on the TV is lame as well.

i just cant get over of my last visit last tuesday evening. dinner with coleagues. iv ordered my fave burger with bacon, mushrooms and loads of cheese and tried the bucatini (as recomended by the server) that iv shared with a friend. i was about to order also the shortrib that i tried late last year, unfortunately its not in the menu anymore. my friends ordered salad, the black chicken, huge steak with truffled potato gratin. they also have huge selection of beverages. i had the salted caramel smoothie. everything we had was literally for the win! so bad i hadnt took photos of the food (busy doin groupie tho)
but what really made me decide to drop a review was the superb service. specially the lady with the green hair(i forgot your name dear) who assisted us very well. she was also the same server who assisted us the last visit i had and i could say shes very consistent very accomodating and very professional! plus the cozy ambiance! pricey but worth every peso! what else could u ask for? excited for my next visit.

The Grind Bistro opened its doors last May 2016 as a place where husband-and-wife duo, Steven and Cristina Carl, can showcase their love for food. Working in the food industry for most of their lives, with Steven Carl previously working as the executive chef and F&B Director for Hyatt Hotels while his wife, Cristina Carl, handled operations for Hyatt, the many years of experience under both their belts only goes to show that they know their way around food. It is with this love for food that Grind Bistro was born.

Review 2: 4.0

If you are familiar with Grind Bistro, you probably would have known at this point that they are now down to having two branches- the one in SM Aura and at Net Park in BGC. The one in SM Aura is actually more of a cafe serving pastries, while the one in BGC seems to be a high-end American restaurant, centered on serving burgers, steaks, and other gourmet meat dishes.

Grind Bistro owners Steven and Cristina Carl, a husband and wife tandem, initially visualized of putting up a gourmet burger joint to please Filipino foodies. They decided later on to establish a full-fledged restaurant serving a variety of America's comfort food specialties.

Thanks to the save up on your dining cravings app, Big Dish, I got 50% discount here on their lean time on a Sunday. That simply meant, I got to enjoy even more Grind Bistro's offering as it was half the price. Big Dish is an app that you can use to book at some of the metro's finest dining places. When you book at a certain time of day, you may get up to 50% discount off of your bill.

The restaurant actually boasts of a spacious dining area, with huge colorful chairs and comfy couches. The lights are set to dim to give off an intimate, relaxing vibe to its customers.

Grind Bistro has a "Create Your Own Steak" option in their menu. I decided on getting a Double Pork Chop (Php 795). It was a double cut meat, with a side of asparagus tempura and french fries. I find the meat on the tough side and hard to bite into, while the fries was very dry, and the asparagus tempura was high on salt. Nevertheless, this was savory and filling for its generous portion.

My friends and I also shared their creativity concocted Gourmet Burger (Php 750). It consists of seared juicy foie gras, onion jam, and sweet and sour balsamic syrup. The 1/3 pound meat was cooked medium well and the duck liver cooked on point. This sinful piece, inspite of beinga mouthful was a delight to have, thanks to its mirage of different flavors and textures.

There was also the Nutty Black Chicken with Hazelnut Romesco Sauce and Sweet Chili Glaze (Php 595). We almost didn't try out this one because of its odd name but am glad we did. This dish with its uncanny pitch black color was prepared in squid ink filled batter, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It was by far my favorite offering that night, its meat tender and spiced just right.

For dessert, we had their S'mores and Hot Cocoa (Php 380). It actually consisted of toasted marshmallow, chocolate feiullitine, and vanilla ice cream, served in a cauldron with hot chocolate. I highly recommend this one, Grind Bistro's fine contribution to a long list of S'mores variety. This turned out to be an enjoyable to have as our last bite.

As for their shakes, I had a taste of their Chocolate Hazelnut (Php 225) and their Bourbon Caramel (Php 295). I only took like three sips from my Bourbon Caramel, and find it too sweet for my liking. You see Filipinos have an extra layer of sweet palate, unfortunately, I don't have that. I did appreciate the Chocolate Hazelnut variety more with its thick and strong presence of cocoa.

Another beverage that we end up having was their glass of refreshing Limeade with Mint (Php 100) priced at Php100). As you know, am a big fanatic of mint.

For comfort food that soothes the soul, pay Grind Bistro a visit and hit me up when you feel like sharing your thoughts about your dining experience. Don't forget to hook big dish and get instant savings.

Review 1: 2.5

I knew the place was going to charge me an arm and a leg from what it looked from the outside. But still, I went in and was ready for a new kind of burger. Hey so many burger places, hard to tell how different they really are.

So I got the Wise Burger. It wasn't a smart choice. This cardboard tasting like vegetable patty with Mediterranean spiced chick pea, shitake and black bean tasted seemingly having only one ingredient- bland peas. Its secret sauce didn't help too so I opted for ketchup to make it somewhat appetizing.

Forget the Spinach too. It had too much garlic. The Matcha Cookie was as sad as well- dry as a desert with too much matcha powder. Am sure I only ordered the wrong things. Another visit should make sense for me.

Loved this new burger place in BGC. Classy high-ceilinged interiors making for an airy restaurant.

Started off with my customary brewed coffee and salad. Ceaser Salad with Sunny-Side Up Egg was quite good.

Limeade Mint was ok - somewhat watery with all the ice in it. Switched to Bourbon Caramel Vanilla which is a sinful spiked Milkshake!

Now for the main event! Grind Burger was superb - best yet we've had in Metro Manila. Thick, juicy patty made from 100% USDA beef. The brioche buns didn't crumble and held up well till the end. Heat Burger was a spicier version with peppers and spicy mayo.

$9- $10 burgers have come to the city and they're great at Grind Bistro!

Was so excited to try this after eating at their SM north branch. Wow! This restaurant is beautiful. And the attention to detail is amazing. Now for the food.
We had the poke nachos, wedge salad, tomato bisque, beef ravioli and rib eye.
First the poke nachos were incredible! Never had poke this flavorful before. Next the wedge salad with crispy pork was so delicious. Wedge salads sometimes can be boring but not this! The tomato bisque is divine.and brioche that comes with is so buttery! The beef ravioli was unexpected and so yummy and their ribeye is the best steak I've had here. We were too full for dessert but will definitely be back to try them out.

I kept on looking and waiting for The Grind Bistro to open everytime I pass by that area before I go home when it was still under construction. What made me very excited was the interiors of this restaurant. Finally I was able to give it a try with my friends for lunch.

What we ordered:

CRISPY CHICKEN WINGS : Php 275
Perfect for Sriracha lovers since this is covered with such, and it comes with a bleu cheese dip!

LINGUINI PESTO : Php 375
This is one of the best pesto pasta dishes I've ever had. I love the generous serving of pine nuts! Sa pine nuts pa lang, sulit na!

SHRIMP BUCATINI : Php 595
Well this is quite expensive but they recommended this so why not give it a try! Bucatini is a thick spaghetti-like pasta and has a hole in it. I found this really interesting to eat since this is aldente and is something different from the usual pasta. This cream-based dish is not "nakakaumay" and I love how the cheese and shrimp blend well with the cream. I'm so thankful to have been introduced this to us!

We also got a complementary sourdough bread. Sourdough bread is my favorite! It also comes with creamed butter making it easier for us to spread.

What made the eating experience great was the ambiance, interiors, lighting, and kind of service they have.
