Looking for Latin flavors with a modern twist? Reach the 4th floor of the Uniqlo Building in BGC and check out Alegria Cozinha Moderna & Sangria Bar (@alegriamnl).
Alegria serves modern takes on Latin American faves tastefully paired with wine and sangria. Opened last October 27, Alegria offers its modern take on tasty Latino choice dishes like:
The Maize Tortillas (PHP 160 for one or PHP 450 for three) are both beautiful and delicious! We had all four kinds: O Vegano, Mi Japones, Alma Koreana, and our favorite, El Mexicano which is made with Puerto Rican pork loin, salsa creole, smoked esquites, red onion pickle cilantro, jalapeno, avocado, and queso cotija.
Cute and fun to eat, the Bralizian dish Coxinha (PHP 200) is crunchy, tender, and spicy. Made with pulled chicken, chicken milk broth dough, and wasabi aioli.
Tender and juicy, the Calabresa Brasilera (PHP 270) is great when paired with cervezas on an empty stomach. Itâs made with Calabresa sausage, potatoes, and peppers.
The La Fideo! (PHP 365) is a great example of Latino flavors executed under procedures. Savory and deceptively spicy, La Fideo is definitely one of Rainaâs favorites! Itâs made with jalapeno aglio olio, pollo lima, chimichurri, kesong puti, and cherry tomatoes.
Tasty and filling, the Marinero (PHP 380) is an awesome and colorful seafood dish made with Puerto Rican rice, vino, sundried tomatoes, peppers, chorizo kolbasz, Chilean mussels, prawns, and calamari.
The Pollo Peruano Churrasco (PHP 420) is a Peruvian favorite with a twist. Itâs made with tender Peruvian Quarter chicken served with Arroz Alegria, pork crackling crusted elote of which you can pair with a choice of red hummus, chimichurri or salsa creole sauce.
Great things take time. In this case, their Pork Chops Churrasco (PHP 450) is brined with apples for 48 hours and served with Arroz Alegria, pork crackling crusted elote of which you get pair with a choice of red hummus, chimichurri or salsa creole sauce.
Hands down my favorite on their menu, the Falso Moqueca (PHP 390) is creamy and extremely luscious. Itâs made with cod fish, coconut and shrimp bouillabaisse, tapioca squid cracker, cilantro, turmeric, and raw corn tortilla.
As if we havenât fully indulged our fatty side, for dessert we had the unusual looking, sweet, and enjoyable âFoi Mal!â Taco (PHP 180) which literally translates to âSorry, my bad!â in Brazilian Portuguese for itâs made with tempting dark cocoa tortilla, chocolate shreds on salted vanilla sorvete, choco-meringue shards, and nuts. Yes, itâs a chocolate taco!
Quench your thirst and drink the night away with their array of wine, sangria, and cocktails. A trip to Alegria wouldnât be complete without their refreshing Coqueteis and Sangria.
