For 170/180 pesos you receive few pieces of beer butter fries chicken/fish, 2 sides and a sauce, flavours are good, very good value, service was quick, atmosphere is isolated in a unique way 👍🏻
Doubled up on the Cod fish n chips, but got double coleslaw. Was really good. Pricey because it’s cod, but it was good. I’ll prolly try the local dory/tilapia next time around.
Ang sarap nung fooooood!!! We tried their coughing sisig and dirty nachos =) aaaay sarap ipartner sa beer. Ang ganda din ng place, di sya crowded nung time na pumunta kame.
It was the best fish and chips I've ever had! I had it delivered through foodpanda and the batter is still crispy when it arrived. Their seafood barbecue dip is the best for me. Plus, their packaging is so cool I had to keep one. Two thumbs up!! 👍👍
Ahh ~ our favorite aftershift hangout place. My wife and I (along with our friends) loves this place - the beers are cheap, food are good and cheap as well (special shout out to their delicious Dirty Nachos). The place tends to be packed every payday (of course) but the crowd is very welcoming as majority of them will offer a seat or sometimes will ask you to join their group.
Let's rate them shall we?
Food: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Value for money: 5/5
Their food is really cheap. They have this food for group and it really satisfied us. It has fish chicken and seafoods! Its good for 8 pax and is worth 800 or less. The place is kind of crowded and smokeyyyy. But their food and crews are their ace!
It was love at first bite! 😍
I have always been a fan of fish and chips and by far this has been the most satisfying meal I've had. I also like the way the take out food comes in reusable boxes, not only that it is eco-friendly but it also gives you the thrill of "unboxing" your meal.
Good, affordable food! Their chicken fingers are one of the tastiest I’ve had. Giving it 4 stars though because the place can get so damp and dirty.
I highly recommend the fish and chips. Pair them with the mushy peas, curry, and cilantro dips if you're feeling adventurous. You can get some ketchup, too, if you're looking for something for conventional.
The only downside to eating here is being exposed to secondhand smoke and loud music, but patrons can dine inside the food court for a more pleasant experience.
My team dined here twice during a project around the area. They serve crispy fish of your choice with two of your preferred sides and a dip. The meal is satisfying and affordable.
The fish is crispy and perfect with the seafood barbecue dip.
Ordered the battered Dory with Cargo rice and Proper chips. Good quality and good food. It was worth it and very filling. Would definitely eat there again.
Value for money fish and chips! They have different options for the fish, sides and sauces. They only cater to fish and chips (also chicken strips), but they’re doing a great job at it. They also have beer and lemonade. You might opt to go for a takeout box if you’re a non-smoker. Their area is a smoking zone and it gets unpleasant sometimes.
The cod was tasty, the breading was not heavy nor greasy. You could still taste the fish. The chips were ok, bland but crunchy. The slaw, you could tell it was made fresh. The veggies were still crunchy without the raw taste.
Now for the only Con for me was the mushy peas were a wee bit bland.
Nice light meal without being weighed down.
Their fish and chips with different dips are to die for. 😍 they have a nice cozy place in the middle of uptown mall where people can smoke and drink and eat. So far. Pwede na.
The couple that run this place are British and Filipina and they both worked in restaurants in London prior to coming to Manila and opening this place. I've eaten a lot of fish and chips in my life and I can tell you that what they're serving here is proper. Further testament - a good British friend who says this place serves the best fish and chips in Manila (he singles out the fact that cod is an option here while most other places substitute cream dory).
Yes, they do well because they have the cheapest beer in Uptown and you can smoke here. But I've eaten here at least 5, maybe 10 times. I have been very happy with the food each time and will keep returning on a regular basis.
I particularly like the whole feel of CargoFish. Relaxed, fresh, hip and energetic. They serve reasonably priced food and drinks. Will be back again to try their other dishes.
I got the dory with the fries and the sweet potato fries. It was delicious and affordable at below Php 200. Love that you can make your own combination. Instead of eating it at the restaurant, I prefer to eat it inside the food court though. Absolutely love the packaging too

Love the food! The Fish is fresh and batter is light and crunchy, love also that you have different sauces to choose from - my fave is honey jalapeño. Affordable prices too! The only thing I’m not so into is the outdoor seating especially during hot days and evenings when there are a lot of mosquitoes. The good thing is they are right across the Uptown Food Hall which is airconditioned so what I do is I just walk over and eat my order in the comfort of the indoor seating of the mall’s food court! 😉
After our movie we had some time to kill before picking up my friend’s tita at the airport. I was full already and just wanted something to drink. I was surprised to see Beer na Beer on their menu. It’s been years since I saw one.
Sprite (Php 29), I like that there’s a bottle opener on the side of the table. It reminded me of kalenderya tables in Manila and provinces.
Their prices was competitive but not sure about the serving size though. I will go back to try it out next time.

Cargo Fish has been a fave hang out of the gang Fri-Sat nights, it has somehow grew on me. Staff are so nice, menu has evolved too. They have Chicken and Sausages, weird Drinks too. Expand the place some more will you, its getting crowded come paydays LOL. Keep it up! 👍🏻
If you're craving for a bite of hot English fish and chips, then this place is for you. At an affordable price, you can choose your own combination of fish, sides & sauce. I tried their Dory and Tilapia and for me, Tilapia is the better choice. Their dining area is open so you will enjoy this if you like outdoor spaces.
Dory with two sides is quite a steal at 165 php, but the batter and seasoning of the fish and chips lacked salt. I recommend the Lime Chili Cilantro sauce to offset the fried, oily taste. Seats are open area, so best to come here at night to avoid the heat.
the service was marvelous, though it’s pretty much self serve, i liked how well i was accommodated - from the product knowledge down to courtesy, i think all restos should take tips from you. now, about the food. the packaging was eco-friendly, the portions were hefty (can be good for 2) and the aesthetics were pleasing to the eye. i just wasn’t that gaga over how it tasted, for me it was just okay. while waiting for my take out, they were generous enough to let me have a taste of their sauces (except the peas and curry) and i was reading all the feedback them reporters had to say about the food outlet so i was excited. it dawned on me that there really are different strokes for different folks and what others crazed about might not be the same as mine. don’t get me wrong there not mal things to say about it as the food was fresh and alluring and their al fresco vibe seemed to be a hit, maybe next time i’ll try other seafood menus and that may be a better one for my palette.
A very chill place with good music. It is situated outside so it may be a bit hot or cool, depending on the weather. Their dory with sweet potato chips is good and affordable for a light snack that may be good for 2.
I will definitely go back.
Last words I told my bf when we were done with their food. I was suprised that you can get a delish fish and chips in a box ☺️.
We tried the Dory with 2 sides ; Fries and Onion Rings. Super love how the fish was served, we just hope that we will get more servings for the sides.
So.. the way it works, you get to choose the type of fish you want plus the sides then the sauce. What we had is the Honey Jalapeno — Superb! A must try.
We’ll definitely return to try the others. ☺️ 👍
Been have several times already. The best Fish & Chips I've ever tasted. Loved their new addition Lemon Pepper Chicken!
Plus the owners are so hands-on making sure that each customer gets the best service possible.
Nice vibe to chill since they are on an alfresco setting!
Good food found! 🍽✨Lol. So my officemates has been telling me about this worthy find @cargofishph. And I finally tried it! Food is delish, in fair (masarap nga!). They only serve seafood though and their area is al fresco (hot for a lunchout hehe). Tried the Cobbler and it goes well with the rice and sweet potato sidings especially with the Roasted Garlic dip! (Yun talaga nagdala eh lol).
Just had a wonderful Cod Fish & Chips lunch. Hope they had a smoked Fish and Chips menu so you can get the real chipper feel.
The outlet only have an open air seating and the ambience will give you a bay side pier type feel.

Affordable British fish & chips with a variety of fish, sides and sauces to choose from.
I've also been here several times. I like how easy it is to eat here. The boxes are cute, just not sure how environmentally sustainable it is to keep throwing them away. Maybe don't serve it with the cover when it's for dine in?
Tried everything already - every fish, every side, every sauce here, and my favorite would be the cod and cobbler for the fish. For the sauce I love myself a good malt vinegar like the Sarson's they have, the lime chili cilantro and the curry dip.
Best Fish n Chips in BGC
Value for Money
Try their Dirty Nachos and Fried Dory
This is an open air place
You can take out and eat in the aircon foodcourt
Food Packaging is unique
3rd time to go back and will go back again.
Excellent fish and chips. Authentic and decently priced. Batter is nice and light and not greasy. Fish is fresh. Wish they took card but maybe someday it'll happen haha. Great that it's open late.
Thumbs up to their build your own fish & chips, big servings and unique box where they serve your yummy order! For 165 php only i was sooo satisfied with my dory (fish of choice), sweet potato fries and coleslaw ( 2 choices of side dish), and tartar sauce (choice of sauce). I would definitely go back here again and try my fish and chips with a few drinks next time! I like their modern al fresco setup too
I love the concept of build your own fish and chips :) For my first order, I got Dory with sweet potato fries, onion rings and tartar sauce. The to-go packaging was well thought of. The box and the wooden fork looked real nice. Too bad it was dark outside so I wasn't able to take photos.
I will definitely go back and try the dirty nachos with a few beers and good company :) Great Job CargoFish! 😊😊😊
Who wouldn't love fish and chips?!! Thanks for bringing me here guys!
It was a Saturday afternoon when we tried Cargo Fish at Uptown BGC. They only have a small stall with high chairs and tables near the foodcourt.
They actually served everything for us! Fish and chips party as it is! 😂😍😍
•Scampi (P305) - this is the favorite! Gone in 5mins! Lol. Everyone loved it! We even asked for additional order so the others could try.
•Cod (P325) - this is good too! But i like the dip more
•Cobbler (P265) - I actually ate a lot of this bec it's the only one left 😂 it was ok but it will be better if you would choose your perfect sauce to pair
•Tilapia (P215)- this is also good!
•Dory (P165)- I like this one with the curry dip!
•Salmon (P355) one of their best sellers! A must try!
They also serve cones:
✔️Onion rigs
✔️fish and chips
✔️Sweet potatoes
✔️Proper chips
You can actually choose your fish, 2 sides and the sauce. 👌🏼
Choice of sauce:
✔️Lime Chili
✔️honey Jalapeño
✔️Roasted Garlic
✔️Tartar
✔️Chip Shop Curry
✔️seafood Bbq
✔️mushy peas
Overall it was good! I enjoyed everything except for the flies. It's understandable that there's an ongoing construction beside and the flies are everywhere or maybe they wanted to join our party! Lol 😂
Will definitely be back! ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent crew service. Awesome take out box. They have Beer na Beer for 40 pesos that tastes like Indo-China draft beer. Relatively cheap if compared to the great food they offer. 5/5 would patronize.
The food is awesome that I dont know what else to say to give justice to this one. It may be a bit pricey but it's worth it. Ordered beer-battered fish dory with cargo rice for 165.00. The serving will truly satisfy you. Try it with tartar sauce and onion rings for the side..
Located in 4/F Uptown Mall, in front of Max's is well yeah, CargoFish. Haha! Not easy to find this place, but once you did, you'll never regret!
This restaurant gives you the power to build your own fish and chips by choosing the kind of fish you want and you're given two free sides to choose from and one sauce! Oh and they serve freshly squeezed lemonade and it's refeshingly good!
My fav combi is Salmon + beer-battered onion rings and proper chips + LIME CHILI CILANTRO!!! Been eating here almost everyday!!!
Staff are very friendly as well!
I've tried Cargofish before and I loved it! It's a stall that offers a simple snack I've always loved, without all the fuss. So, when Team Kaladkarin was invited to Cargofish for an afternoon-filled treat, I was so thrilled! I was so ready to indulge in some fish and chips, again. It's quite simple here in Cargofish:
I haven't really reviewed any restaurants but this definitely deserves my first ever review!! So this new fish and chips in town is the BOMB! I gotta say, when they marketed it as the 'authentic' fish and chips it is really THE AUTHENTIC fish and chips! They serve it with a variety of sides! And did i mention their sauces?!?!? My personal favorite is the lime chili jalapeño and roasted garlic but i think everything works well with the dish anyway. Top it all off with a great place with great interiors and great playlist and this place is top notch 👌🏻
Truth is I really like cargo fish because it's one of a kind-- i mean where else could you get legitimate fish and chips?
So we visited cargo fish again and this time we tried all of their fish selection.
I think it's best to know your fish when ordering here.
How do you like the texture of your fish?
📌Dory
The softest of them all, but unlike the normal dory you encounter, this one does not crumble upon taking a bite.
📌Tilapia
Next to dory, i actually thought this fish is oily, but when i get to try it, it was not.
📌Cobbler
📌😍 Cod
I'm just gonna make one entry for cobbler and cod, since both have almost the same textures. If you want a more heavy fish, choose either one of the two
📌😍 Salmon
Of course, who's not aware of this tasty fish. The heaviest of them all.
📌😍 Scampi
This is, if in case you don't like eating fish. This is their prawn selection.
For the dips. You know what's good. Try the silantro based dip or the curry dip.
Back again in Cargo Fish! This time Team Kaladkarin was invited by Matthew and Matthew. 😀 The ambiance of the place improved a lot since our last visit. They have more chairs and the 7-11 across is now open so they have installed some kind of decor as a border. Very nice!😀
On this visit we got to try their various fish and chips. Which for me is one of the best in the current market.
🐟Dory - their cheapest version of fish and chips peg at 165PHP with 2 sides. Now compared to the fish and fires of a fastfood chain at 149PHP. This was really sulit the serving size was big and their various sauce was so good! Side dish was also server generously. For the dory itself it was very tasty and wasn't bad considering it was just a dory fish.
🐟Tilapia - this one is at 215PHP. Again this was also good but with the price diff I'll go for the Dory variant. Not too much of a fun of tilapia after all the unhealthy news about it. Haha.
🐟Cod - this is my fave of the fish variant. A bit pricey at 325PHP but it was worth it! Love the fishy flavor of it and felt the authenticity of the fish and chips.
🐟Salmon - this one served at 355PHP. Their salmon was fresh and tasty. Meat was very firm. This one was also good!
🐟Scampi - just learned that scampi is a shrimp haha. This was also one of my fave. You can never go wrong with shrimp. Priced at 305PHP.
For the sauce I suggest you try their new chip shop curry dip. It was perfect with any of the variants. For my fave sauce its still the lime chili cilantro. Perfect!
Overall I encourage people to try this authentic Fish and Chips stall in Uptown. 😀
I lived in London for a couple of years and I was so happy when I heard about CargoFish opening at Uptown Mall BGC! What can I say, the light crisp batter is just perfect! I had cod, chips and slaw salad and it felt as if I was eating it in the the streets of London but from a box instead of paper! The packaging is a beauty! 🤗👍👊 They even serve it with Sarsons! ☺️ I have yet to try it with Cargo Rice and other yummy sauces! Good job guys and thanks for bringing in a taste of London here in Manila!
First impressions are the packaging is outstanding!
We ordered the Cod with sides of Proper Chips and Onion Rings. The Cod had generous enough portions to it, taste-wise I tasted a bit which i thought was turmeric in the batter that didn't go well with the fish for me personally.
The Proper Chips was great soft and creamy inside and crisp exterior. Add a few splashes of malt vinegar to the chips and that really takes it up another level, the acidity of the malt vinegar just cuts right through the oils of the chips.
The Onion Rings could do better, it was a bit greasy.
Overall, I'll go back again.
THE CHOICES OF FISH COME IN DIFFERENT SIDINGS LIKE FRIES. SWEET POTATO AND ONION Rings WHICH ALSO HAVE DIFFERENT SAUCES LIKE CILANTRO LIME, RANCH ETC.
TYPES OF FISH ARE:
Cod - the batter is yellow in color and is crunchy which compliments the soft cod meat
Dory - a bit blande which is a good contrast to the batter.
Tilapia - I am familiar with the taste since this is common to us.
Scampi - its a bit "malansa" for my tastes
Cobbler - the fish is also a bit more taste compared to the Dory.
Seriously, the best and authentic Fish and Chips I've had! Reminded me of the dish I had in London. Plus, you can only find Sarson's malt vinegar here!
Authentic fish n chips with a Filipino twist, and in big servings!! I ordered dory and sweet potato. Perfect combination! And oh, they have the cheapest beers in all of BGC!! 👌
You can get a Beer na Beer bottle for only P40. Tiger beer is at P60.
We've been here more than 6 times, great food and excellent service. I always order the tilapia with onion rings and chips, it's worth your money. Definitely a must try.
A friend invited me to check out this new concept at the Uptown Mall. I was looking for a restaurant but got greeted by an upscale food stall with sophisticated al fresco dining. I actually didn't mind that there was no air conditioning, the overlook gave a nice vibe of its concept of Fish and Chips. It had a nice fish dock rugged look, a welcome change from the usual designs of restaurants.
It's not just your usual fix of fish and chips. It is beer battered and it comes with 6 variations namely Dory (PHP 165), Tilapia (PHP 215), Cobbler (PHP 265), Cod (PHP 325), Salmon (PHP 355) and Scampi (PHP 305). This concept of British Chef Michael Hornsby Bates and local Chef Matthew Lim also comes with 5 'chips' choices which are the chips itself, sweet potato variety chips, slaw salad, onions rings and cargo rice. The three tier step on ordering your preferred mix ends with 7 kinds of dips, Tartar Lime Chili Cilantro , Roasted Garlic, Honey Jalapeno, Seafood Barbecue, Mushy Peas and Chip Shop Curry. They have quite an impressive line of sauces from various cultures. So choose your type of fish, pick two chips and one dip (each additional one is just Php 25).
The packaging impressed and could have been the reason why it's a bit pricey as per serving size. I got the Filipino Tilapia variety and its portions were rather small. It came with light batter with manageable oil drips. I did love the flavorful cargo rice and the not so greasy sweet potato chips for my carbs. The Chip Shop Curry and Honey Jalapeno as my sauces were nicely curated as well.
If you are looking for a different feel while still in town, this could be your next stop.
For my first visit, I decided to go British all the way - deep fried cod with a side of chips, coleslaw and 3 dipping sauces: tartar, mushy peas and curry.
The fish was perfectly cooked! Encased in the crispy batter was a delicate, moist cod. Yum! I wish the serving portions were bigger so I can eat more of it!
My favorite among the sauces was surprisingly the mushy peas, because I don't like peas! They converted me into a pea lover!
Overall, it was a delicious meal, service was fast and friendly, and I adore the packaging!
The food tasted good. They make great beer-battered fish fillets. They could improve their "proper chips" by making the fries thinner, as the cuts were too big. Their sweet potato chips tasted better as they used the orange variety. I was disappointed that their honey jalapeño was not spicy. The nicely done tartar sauce made up for this though.
Their stall is located at the outdoor deck of the mall. It did not feel comfortable dining there, while the mosquitos feasted on us as well. I can imagine it would be really hot there during the day.
Their service needs improvement, in that the staff should keep the dining areas clean. They weren't going to clean up the table until we asked them to; and the mess had been there even before we ordered.
The best fish and chips I've had so far! Was able to try the tartar and honey jalapeño dips. Both went well will the fish. Will definitely come back soon and try other variations. ❤️
I 💙 Fish and Chips!
Cargo Fish recently open in Uptown Bonifacio Mall catering different kinds of fish and chips, literally. Hahaha! 😂
You will never missed this place once you're in the food hall. It is located outside with a big signage of "Fish and Chips". Although the place is not that big, just like a pop-up store but Cargo Fish provided chairs and tables to accommodate customers who wants to dine in.
We choose Cod Fish paired with Sweet Potato Chips and Cargo Rice served with Tartar Sauce for Php325.00 and Fish and Chips Cone for Php99.00.
🐠Cod Fish and Chips - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
"It's like a cream dory the only difference is the texture of cream dory "medyo mashy" according to the owner, Mr. Mathew Lim. I can say it's one of the best fish and chips I ever tasted. The sweet potato and the cargo rice we paired with cod really blends well and compliment with the super flavorful tartar sauce. Ang sarap!"
🐟Fish and Chips Cone - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"Oh! We were so lucky that different kinds of fish were served inside the cone (normally, "dory lang") like dory, cobbler, tilapia, cod and salmon. Served with original chips (potato) mixed with the fishes inside the cone. Grabe! Sulit for Php99.00."
The only thing I noticed that it tends to be oily especially the chips.
Overall, I love Cargo Fish because of the nice packaging, reasonable price and of course the fish and chips... masarap!
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤
If there’s anything notable in the British cuisine, it would have to be beer-battered fish and chips. Representing United Kingdom and Philippines are two chefs who have come together to serve awesome fish and chips at CARGOFISH. From morning ’til midnight, Chef Michael Hornsby-Bates and Chef Matthey Lim toil away in the cargo container-sized kitchen churn out boxes of fish and chips like clockwork. [Read More]
