It's my first time to visit Mati's Meat & Bread and I'm very impressed by the ambience of the place especially the stairs in the middle, literally gives the place a character. For me, the food is good for sharing. I haven't tasted anything that I wasn't satisfied. My favorite was their Mac and Cheese, Truffle Bone Marrow and Balut Aligue. Try their Ice Cream Milkshake for dessert! I do recommend this place for family dinners, friendly gatherings or just a place to chill and relax. I’m planning to bring my friends here as well and eat more!
Given the taste and serving size it was worth its price! And the place looks posh enough that at first you'd feel its an expensive place to dine. But glad that we tried it here and enjoyed the food and setting. Plus the staff are great!

I admit, this is not my first time here at Mati's Meat and Bread. And why I am here again? Simply because I loved their food and I can't wait any longer!
For my first dish, I ordered their Nikki's Rosemary Chicken. This was my favorite from my last visit. So no doubt, the taste is consistent. Hands up. Next is the Balut Aligue. Since I always wanted to explore new and exciting dishes, this caught my attention. And I must say that if you are trying to look for a reason why you have to love balut more? Try this one. Trust me, I got you. I also ordered Four Cheese Pizza *it's mandatory actually coz I'm a pizza addict* Well, I am biased enough to say that this is completely awesome but rest assured I am telling you nothing but the truth. I also ordered pesto - so far so good. But for my main dish *drum rolls* the 300g Australian Ribeye. This is cooked right in front of me, and it is done with my own preferred taste. The meat is cooked exactly the same I was expecting - well done. The juices is like screaming and saying "you deserve this!".
So I ended my night satisfied and with a happy tummy. The service is fast. The crews are very attentive. The food is undeniably good. And the price is just right.
Lovely Interior, Amazing view outside through glass walls, and good food! The perfect place to catch up with your friends at any time of the day since they offer a great selection of foods. My favorites are : Salpicao Pizza, Truffled Bone Marrow, Sofia's Bbq Pork Ribs and Angus Steak rice!! + Ube Ice Cream Shake
The staff were so accomodating and all the food we ordered taste great! Don’t know the other entrés, though!
My girlfriends and I love the food. We intend to bring our families back. I like the very thin crust pizza, chicken wings and the pasta with truffle oil! Sorry I came late and just ate what's on the table so I didn't know how their names came out in the menu. It's superb!

Satisfied w/ what we had for hubby's birthday lunch! Watermelon and mango shake, tomato soup, Camilles salad, balot aligue, grilled cheese sandwich, Mama's buffalo wings, angus burger and of course the Steak (perfect medium rare roast). Great place for family quality time.
Since the resto that we were eyeing was already full, we decided to celbrate valentines day here instead. We are very happy infact we were extremely impressed with crew and how fast our steak are served! Even oir kids loved the pizza!
The crew are polite and always smiling!
Definitely we will go back here!

Everything we ordered tasted great! Especially loved their crunchy, super thin crust pizza. Just want to suggest to have photos in the menu so people will have a better idea of what they are ordering. :-)

I like the ambiance here, it is very romantic. Their not-so-bright lighting made a good setting.
As for the service, no one welcomed and even handed me the menu. There's a group/family who went ahead of us so the staff were busy assisting them. Also, I noticed that time, there are two ladies who chose an al fresco dining. A staff took my order and informed me about the waiting time (15-20 min). One of the ladies kept on raising her hand a few times (literally) just to get a staff's attention but she failed. Since I'm inside the restaurant, I had to call one of the staff to tell that the ladies outside weren't given attention. Finally, the ladies got the menu. There's a group/family who went ahead of us so the staff were busy catering them. I know the staff were busy but that in my opinion, it shouldn't be the case, every customer should be given equal attention, right?
I ordered their "Real Carbonara" (P299.00 exclusive of service charge). Serving is big. It's saucy. I cLl it creamy but not that sticky. It's saucy/watery like you can get the sauce using a spoon without including the pasta, and it's not bad. I like it. It's tasty without the need of additional parmesan. It has some bits of bacon. Some of those bits has a taste like it's burned but were not evident on the appearance. I also like the taste of the buttered bread. It tasted herby, one side is toasted and the rest were soft. I consumed it all.
I'm okay with the price but not with the service.

I have always been curious about this place, being the sister of Melo's. I bought vouchers from Metrodeal to check it out first, but I initially though that the Vouchers will allow you to purchase any item on the menu for a consumable of P990. It was my fault for not reading the whole thing :) When we got there we had 3 vouchers. The Vouchers was meant for set meals. which includes 1 Classic Steak, 1 Mushroom Soup, 1 Caesar Salad and 1 Dessert.Service was good, the ambiance was very homey, the serving was a bit small though. I am not sure if its because I used a voucher, but I looked over the other table which ordered the classic steak (not through a voucher) and it seems like the same size, so if you are planning to get stuffed on steak, order a bigger one, perhaps the porterhouse, which I will be trying next time.Overall taste of the dish is satisfactory, my 4yr old daughter loved their mushroom soup and I loved the taste of all the dishes that was served, it was just a tad too little.

A perfect romantic place for foodies who are tight on budget! The place will make you feel like you’re in a fine dining restaurant. However, you don’t have to pay that much as they have a wide selection of good food enough for you to have a good choice within budget 👌🏻
The place is huge enough to accommodate maybe 70-100 guests. It has two areas, one looks like as though it was designed for diners while the other side are for the drinkers (near the bar).
The staff here are very attentive and are always ready to help. Though some are not yet knowledgeable of the dishes, the same is understandable considering the unusualness of the menu items.
-Puttanesca-
One of the balmiest puttanesca I’ve had in terms of tanginess. Very meaty but fresh and light too! The bread was ugly but it’s super good!
-Mama’s Buffalo Wings-
Not your typical buffalo wings. It’s covered with honey! But not to sweet 👌🏻 This is a must try. I’m not really into sweet viands specially meat or chicken but this one is good! Crispy skin, moist inside, perfect coating.
-Carbonara-
Non-cream based Carbonara. So it’s very very light and has a clear taste compared to the usual creamy Carbonara.
-Proscuitto Tapenade-
I tried three kinds of bread during my visit and this is what I like the most because of the prosciutto 😍 It was exceptionally flavorfuuuul!
-Wagyu Tenderloin-
This one is heaven! Mouthwatering indeed. It wouldn’t melt in your mouth but it’s packed with so much flavoooor! A bit pricey for me though. It’s PHP 1600.00 but was only 180gms.
-Talis Gambaretti-
THIS. IS. MY. NUMBER. 1 PIZZA. Literally to die for! Super garlicky and cheesy with generous amount of shrimp on a thin and slightly crispy crust! I ate half of the entire pizza we ordered 🙊 Don’t miss this out on your visit. Even if you’re alone, it’s okay to have one full pizza for yourself (it is that yummy).
Food is exquisite. Loved the ambience. The staff was friendly! This place is recommendable. You should try the salpicao pizza. It’s one of the best! It’s honestly the thinnest pizza I’ve tried, and I like the cheese in the pizza! Love it! Keep it going Mati’s!
Ps mati’s is a sister company of melo’s just saying! My family tried their wagyu tenderloin and they said it was very tender! :) 2 thumbs up for that!
We had a great experience with the food and service. The salpicao pizza is a must. They accommodate simple requests like gravy for the porkchop which is the right combination for our taste. On our next visit we will try out the steaks.
The steak here are cheap but taste good. Most of their dishes are sumptuous and can be shared with. Recommended for people who are visiting the place.
The food was up to par and the portions were not small. The service was great. The prices were reasonable. My son and I left full and happy. I am definitely going back to try their Angus steak! 😃

Very attentive and friendly staff. Very quick in service and you don't have to tell them what you need. They proactively give out suggestions in what to order too.

I'm glad i took the advice of one of the staff to go for medium well instead of well done. Everything in the steak is just right and it's really delicious. The mashed potato was a bit too "squishy soft" but it tasted good still so i don't mind that.

The place is always empty whenever i go there (post lunchtime hours) so i love the quiet.

Every week or twice every month, there's a new restaurant in Venice Grand Canal Mall. This time I went there to try the newly open Mati's Meat and Bread (just right beside Munch, across the bridge going to Food Court).
The manager greeted me when I enter the premises and assisted me to my table. On it's soft opening, the menu were still on hand written and the restaurant was "Kagagawa lang".
With its brick wall, warm lights and green plants inside the restaurant and with the view of Venice Canal, the place look romantic. Yes, they need to jive with the Italian concept of the mall.
I had Bianca's Creamy Vongole pasta for Php299.00 and Tomato Soup for Php90.00.

i actually enjoyed my dining experience here at Mati's, a plate of Norwegian Salmon that cost me around 400.00 is such a good deal. Talking about the consistency of their Mashed Potato, its really thick and creamy that got me addicted to it. I repeatedly complimented the taste of their angus steak rice, it was really the bomb. to mention that the taste was really balance.
Ambience was nice, it's rustic x classic. Everything was insanely beautiful. If you're looking a cozy place to date your hubby but spending less, this is the perfect one for you.

So happy to know that VEnice Grand Canal now has a restaurant speciaizing in steaks. We tried their USDA rib-eye and also their Wagyu rib-eye. Both were tender and juicy. no wonder because Mati's is 3rd generation of Melo's steakhouse per our server. Price not so expensive as the original steakhouse of 1st generation though
Accidentally discovered Mati's Meat and Bread at Venice Grand Canal.. The steaks are so tender and surprisingly affordable. Their USDA Ribeye is less than php500. What a steal! Next time I will order their Wagyu Ribeye. It's php1,200 so I'll save for it yet...

I'm not fan of mashed potato with gravy but I finished this one. Hubby said it must be eaten with the meat as it's quite lacking of saltiness. The corn, carrots and peas were just usual sidings, not good. The meat was medium well, it worked for me. No striking flavor but not bland.
Sofia's BBQ Pork ribs - 485 - not my palate but he ate all of it and said it's better than others we've tried here at Venice
Shrimp pasta - 360
If you don't like basil, skip this one. It got that mild pesto taste but tolerable. I like the al dente noodles and the shrimps were visible to see. 🙂
Didn't notice the serving time but the food were hot and good enough to fill me before my tummy gets cranky. 😊
I wasn't blown away with the steak that they served for its price of around 450 php. The servings are not proportional to what they sell. Flavor was there but not enough to convince me to return here once again. The cream of mushroom soup may be reasonably priced for it to be served although I tasted a lot of milk in it.
