Food: we ordered crispy spam masubi, sam choy's hot and spicy ribs, the original hawaiian baby back ribs and their houseblend iced tea. The masubi is yummy but I don't like the sweetness that much. The sam choy's is not that spicy but it is really delicious. And the best one is the original hawaiian baby back ribs, (duh, of course?) Hahaha. But swear, sobrang sarap β€ we ordered the small size but it can serve atleast 2 persons. It depends on you π€£
Place: the place is a little bit crowded. In the pictures, it looks like it is a big area, but it is not. The outside area is the tsokolateria, you can also order from them. :)
Service: two thumbs up! The staffs are very attentive. π

i can see dirt stains in my water glass, some flies are roaming around which is so annoying.
We got the spam masubi, ribs and Kuala pork belly. Surprisingly, I thought the ribs was just so-so (surprising because this is what they're supposedly famous for). I did however love the spam masubi and Kuala pork belly

The heart attack and spam fries are a must-try side dishes. Most items on the menu may be too sweet for your taste so it's best to always have a salty side dish.

I rate 5 star here coz the food is really good. The service is also fast. Food was delivered way faster than I expected considering i'm quite hungry already and you got really impatient during those times.
The servers also responds to you very fast. They fill your glass of water once they saw that it's alread half empty.

we ordered the original baby back ribs, half chicken and carbonara mac n cheese. the baby back ribs was soo good! it was falling off the bones. so tender and juicy. big serving as well. ordered the medium and 4people shared it. the chicken was good too but it was a bit smaller than expected. the carbonara mac n cheese was very good too. there was heaps of bacon on top of it and it was very crunchy! i love it!

Im super tempted to give this resto a 5.0. But there was a slight kink, in terms of infrastructure.
Anyways, the food was super sulit! The servings were huge abd the meat was falling off the bone. We had the spicy and the regular ribs. Both were divine. We also had their crusted fried spam and it was uniquely tasty. Who could go wrong with spam anyways. However,their calamari salad, which was from tsokolateria was mediocre. It was small and the leaves didn't seem fresh to me.
So ok, here's the deal. Food was superb, but the resto had a certain smell. It reeked of something unpleasant (restroom related smell) and it wafts through the air when the Tagaytay breeze blows. I do hope management would fix this nuisance. It really destroys the vibe of the place.
We went there for my birthday and we had a great time. We ordered crispy spam masubi, onion rings tower, mango ceasar salad and baby back ribs.. The crispy spam masubi was definitely our favorite and one of the reason we want to go back.. The ambience was great we really had fun.
Their food is good, we especially liked the original ribs but in other places that offer baby back ribs, usually you get atleast two kinds of side dish but here in hawaiian bbq, you can only choose one and they don't serve much. Like in the photos you can see one ribs with just a few french fries and the other just a very small amount of coleslaw. We ordered two large baby back ribs for 990 each and you dont get your money's worth for it. Also, their service is very very slow..took about 40 minutes to serve. Their staff arent as attentive or warm. The only thing worth mentioning is atleast when I said that my father is celebrating his birthday, they would play a happy birthday song and gave him a complimentary serving of ice cream with sliced mango and with a birthday candle.

We ordered their bare-licious baby back ribs and their onion rings tower as that's all we wanted from the menu.
The serving size of their dishes are so sulit and we even had left overs to bring back to our hotel. The ribs were tender and had that char and smoked flavor i want in grilled ribs. The onion rings were so thick it was hard to eat, a bit ordinary for me.
The ambiance though is pretty nice and they allowed us to drink the bottle of wine we brought. :)
I cant believe it took a while for me to try this resto. One of the best grill restos in town, and not your traditional ihaw ihaw. Loved their bbq platter (yummy grilled shrimp, squid and mussel) and veggie platter! and their shredded corn too. Service was also awesome :)
It's our third time to dine here. They added a different menu or combine it with another restaurant, Tsokolateria. You have the option of ordering both menu in one seating. We always love their baby ribs. And it's still the best. Just have your waiter listen to customers clearly. :)

After our relaxing glamping in Batangas, we had a stop over at Tagaytay for lunch. Searched Zomato for restaurants with good ratings, and voila! We spotted this bed and breakfast resto place!
We had a parking space available since it is already past lunch time. The hotel itself had awesome interior, with a ravishing outdoor restaurant.
We ordered the following:
1. Crispy Spam Masubi - (P300) our favorite spam enveloped in sushi rice and nori, dipped in Hawaiian batter and deep fried to perfect yumminess
2. Volcanic Wings - (P280) Hot and fiery chicken wings, fried til golden
3. Onion Rings tower w/ 3 sauces - (P220) Served with original bbq sauce, garlic mayo, gravy
4. Waikiki's Rootbeer Sesame Ribs - (P380) Sesame and rootbeer infused ribs grilled to tender perfection
5. Island Sausages and Sauerkraut - (P340) Ode to Germans in Hawaii. Smokin-grilled assortrd island pork sausages paired with our house blend sauerkraut and baked potatoes
6. Grilled vegetables in olive oil - (P165)
Would give a perfect score if the sausages were not drenched in oil, sauerkraut was disappointing, and baked potatoes were ordinary.
But still, we loved the ambiance and the food overall! βπ»οΈπ΄
Had a great time dining here! The ribs were delicious, we ordered the original ribs & the spicy one. We also ordered their mango caesar salad, I really liked it because of the added mango and crunchy bacon π They also have a view of Taal, the servers were nice and attentive, big food portions at a reasonable price.
Good ambiance, good food, good service. Definitely worth the trip! Keep yourself busy though because serving time is 25-30 minutes. But hey, if you're not in a hurry, then I guess that's fine. Try the Smores Dip!
The place is esy to locate, just in front of the Ayala Mall Serin. Super yummy baby back ribs. So tender, juicy and the sauce is yummy. I also love their Houseblend Hawaian Iced Tea. I so love it. The olace is nice with an overlooking view. The staffs are friendly. Two thumbs up. ππ

We ordered baby back ribs, spam and fries and caramelized onion and corn rice. Their ribs are amazing and delicious! You don't even have to use their knives, cause it falls off the bone! The spam and fries is a nice appetizer. Lastly, the rice we ordered complemented the ribs. ππΌππΌππΌ
..the ribs here are better than at breakfast at antonios' because it's saucier, falls off the bone, huge (for a solo size) and tastes better, different but better as informed by papa. the mashed potato sidings was also good -buttery, gravy-ly and heavenly. i had a spoonful, i wanted more but then papa will have none, haha. the squid tacos were... bland. the calamari itself was seasoned well, i guess its because of the stack shredded vegs against only 5 small pieces of calamari incorporated in the soft taco affected the taste. both dishes were 'solo' but seemed for sharing. next to the resto (as in a few steps away) is the tsokolateria cafe and right in front is the ayala mall Serin.
We've been here for the second time yesterday, Hawaiian Bar-B-Q never failed us. We're actually from Pasay but we drive all the way here for their delicious Bulalo, Tawilis and Babyback Ribs. Great ambience for dates and family affairs since the vibe is very intimate. Staff are friendly too. We'll definitely comr back again.
Looking for a date night ambiance and a big apetite this place is a must to visit. Their tasty hawaian barbeque is a must to have overlooking taal lake and attentive crews makes it more special.

I was supposed to give 4.5 but I will tell you the reason why I gave 4.0 instead.
We had their salad for appetizer. It was good enough. Typical salad. Another "appetizer" we had was their Crispy Spam Masubi. True to its name, it was indeed crispy and....HEAVENLY DELICIOUS. I would definitely have this one again if I come back. The sauce was so good!! It blends well with the masubi. We also had their BBQ platter. Everything was delicious! But the tenderness and softness was not consistent. One of the squids are hard to chew. But the sauce was good. Their java rice also went together with the meat compared to the plain rice. My little brother had their Kitkat Milkshake. For me, it was good enough. But you can do this at your home.
My most favorite part: DESSERTS. I tried their Smores. AND I LOOOOOOVEEEED IT. It has bananas underneath and their marshmallow is not the marshmallow that will hurt your jaw. It was also my tita's birthday so we had their lava cake and it was good, not too sweet.
Overall, The Original Hawaiian Bar BBQ is something I would recommend to my friends who want to eat in Tagaytay. Aside from the good food, the good view also adds to the ambiance and to the satisfaction of the customers like me. However, the staff is not that friendly and that's the reason why I gave 4.0 only. Hope they would improve this.
Nevertheless, I'm definitely coming back!

Located inside a hotel, only a few know that this resto exists. That's why it's really ideal for chill weekends :)

Like I mentioned in my previous post about The Boutique Bed and Breakfast, Tagaytay is a favorite "Out of Town" spot for barkadas and families. It's far enough so that you're away from the pollution of the metro, but not too far that it becomes an exhausting drive just to get there.
I always look forward to their Hawaiian barbeque + crispy tawilis. While waiting for the main, I chomp on not so crunchy onion rings. This place is my children's favorite so I cannot miss this place whenever in Tagaytay.

And spam rice. Hahaha these two are our usuals when visiting :) Their ribs and flavored and grilled to perfection, and watching the meat fall off the bones is such a beautiful sight - that, and the volcano too. Staff are very attentive and accomodating. This place is also bebe friendly!
[+] brownie points: the view of course! You get one of the best views of the picturesque Taal volcano. The best time to go is during lunch, of course!
I'll add this place to our usual stop-overs... Maybe once the hubsky and I have explored more of Tagaytay.
At first, the place is somewhat located in a hotel/ lounge or something. The view would have been fantastic if we dined here on a windy or sunny morning/afternoon. Food was nice, would like to try their best selling ribs. Service crew were also attentive. :)

My hubby and I stayed at the Boutique Bed and Breakfast. This is the restaurant at the lobby. At first it was weird to have a Hawaiian resto in Tagaytay but once we tried their food it was amazing. We will definitely eat here again. The serving is good for sharing and priced appropriately.

Last March, I was pleased to be back at The Original Hawaiian BBQ, located inside The Boutique Bed & Breakfast, with my KTG family. I first noticed there was a change in its interiors. It had more space with a clearer view of the beauty of Taal. The rays of sun hit the edges of our table for the perfect lighting set up as we photograph a long lineup of food prepared by our gracious host Happy Ongpauco-Tiu.
The Food:
Onion Rings Tower w/ 3 Sauces (Php 200) - Presented in a creative way, the Onion Rings Tower pulled me from afar where I was busy taking photos of the Taal view. Barbecue, garlic mayo and gravy in cups served as its sauces. New to our tastebuds, the gravy appealed more with the crunch and flavor of onion rings.
Crispy Spam Masubi (Php 275) - Crispy Spam Masubi is spam out of your comfort zone. Being used to spam with rice or bread, itβs a jump to a recipe of our favorite spam enveloped in sushi rice and nori dipped in Hawaiian batter then deep fried to perfection. I love how this rare combination found romance together.
Hawaiian BBQ - The main attraction of every dining at The Original Hawaiian BBQ is thisβ¦ the Ribs!! First in line, The Original Hawaiian Baby Back Ribs. I hope I can flush all the food I ate easily and make more space for these BBQ ribs roasted in their homemade sweet yet tangy sauce. Meat so tender, you donβt actually need a knife to slice your share. Whatβs missing now is the view of the beach and it will feel like Hawaii already.
The Ambiance:
When the sun is still out, the natural light comes in from one side, easy for photographers to maneuver. Monotone interiors, of black and white, makes it appear intimidating at first. Only until you browse through the menu, youβll see how reasonable the prices are, considering the high quality of dishes you get.

Great food for a reasonable price. The restaurant has minimalist but tasteful furnishings. They have very friendly & accomodating wait staff, excellent service. To top it off, a serene place with scenic view that offers fresh Tagaytay air. Awesome place to spend time with family & friends and just enjoy life.

Wanted to try this restaurant since I had a Spam craving! Because we were only 2, I couldn't go crazy with the appetizers, but the Spam fries were very tasty (and could actually stand on its own, without the sauce that is served on the side). Being cheese fans, we ordered the cheese galore corn, and although it was standard grocery cheese on top of the grilled corn, it still brought smiles to our faces. The root beer sesame ribs was very delicious... and I wondered why it was the first time I had grilled pineapple with ribs, so goooood, definitely a must try! The baked seafood pockets in lime and honey also hit the mark! The Hawaiian iced tea is also delicious and complements everything. The service was good, with the waiters keeping an eye on their respective tables. I would have liked to eat in the al fresco area (with the Taal lake view), but the lounging chairs and tables, although photogenic, are not too conducive for a proper meal, and it was not well lit. There was also a stray cat who wandered in before we finished our meal. But stray cat incidents aside, we definitely loved the food and would keep it at the back of our minds the next time we visit Tagaytay!
The place is very chill, since it's located in Tagaytay. Food is great and very affordable. You would definitely go back once you've dine here.
Please try the volcanic chicken and their salads, it's the best! I tried the baby back ribs,it's ok but the taste is similar to the ribs from t"the porch." all in all the place was nice. Waiters are accommodating and it's not really pricey, you Can just prepare 500 for a meal of 2 :)
Before checking out from the Boutique Bed and Breakfast Hotel, we made sure to dine at The Original Hawaiian Bar-B-Que, located just behind the hotel lobby. At first, we were the only ones who were there but we didnt mind. I dont really take it as a bad sign as long as the food satisfies me. True enough, the food was filling as the portions were big. Go for their ribs! So flavorful and tender, falls right off the bone! Try their beef stew (Lahaina's?) as well. Delish!

When me and my family went to Boracay last 2014, we ate at this small restaurant where they serve the best barbecue ribs in the island! And since then we were on look out for that resto here in the metro. Gladly, KP found it in the internet that they have a branch in Tagaytay. So, it was a rainy Monday morning when we went up to Tagaytay to eat lunch with KPβs dad then go back to manila right after. (awesome idea right?!)
The restaurant is located at the ground floor of the bed and breakfast so it is easy to find. The interiors are embellished with patterns on the ceiling and walls. The place is open so that you can feel the cold breeze.. they also have an alfresco dining are that overlooks the beautiful scenery of Tagaytay.
For our appetizer, we had the Crispy Spam Masubi (290php). Spam wrapped in Nori and Sushi Rice then fried to a crispy golden brown. I personally liked this one the flavors were nice but my only concern is itβs a little bit oily and the rice is a little bit bland, doesnβt tastes like a real japanese sushi rice.
Next up is their Lahainaβs Beef Stew (515 php) This is one of my favorites here, it is stewed in a hawaiian spice blend with maple, chili and sesame. It was sweet and has a little bit of kick of the chili and the sauce was thick and good! The beef is also tender so it was a joy to eat!
We also had their Fishermanβs Catch (560 php) is a mix of Fried Shrimp, Fish, Squid and Mussels with Lemon Butter sauce, Wasabi Mayo, and Barbque sauce. I liked the wasabi mayo with all of the seafood, it has the right balance of flavor..creamy at first then a kick of the wasabi after..while KP liked the lemon butter sauce with the seafood.
Of course we will have what we came for right?! We had the Original Hawaiian Baby Back Ribs (380php/small, 765php/medium and 990php/large) in small because we already ordered too much for 3 people. Just like that my cravings for this kind of ribs has been satisfied! The sauce was good, and the ribs was super tender and falls off the bone. The ribs tastes like the one that we had a year ago in Boracay! It is super worth the travel!Β KP also tried their signature Hawaiian Iced Tea (95php) which is also good. :)
Our trip was worth it! The food, staff and the weather was perfect (well, except it rained hard on the way home). This place itself is enough for me to visit Tagaytay often. And my cravings were satisfied, I felt really nostalgic while eating the food, it brings me back to Boracay which is the perfect place for this resto.
I love everything on their menu!!! My favorite is their corn in a cob! During this visit my family and i ordered nachos with pulled pork!!!, bulalo of course, corn in a cob with sweet honey, and original babyback ribs. Loved everything!
During our photography group's 9th anniversary photo trip, we made sure to reserve at The Original Hawaiian Bar-B-Que for lunch. It was actually the first stop of our trip. We arrived early but after a little while, the restaurant became full! Good thing we reserved!
We ordered the tender bbq ribs and some fried tawilis also. Good restaurant with top notch quality. the place was also well decorated and maintained with a small bed and breakfast taking up the other floors of the building.
Dinner with family. Foods are great! I love their spam fries and the spam rice. Garlic Tahong, Rib Eye and Salads were the best. Next time we'll try their other dishes.

After spending the day at the beach in Batangas, my friends and I decided to spend dinner at The Original Hawaiian Barbecue in Tagaytay. It was my first time to try it though I've always been seeing their Boracay branch usually full packed especially during summer.
Highly recommended was The Original Hawaiian Baby Back Ribs so that's what I ordered. Turned out to be very tender and glaced with a neatly formulated sweet barbecue sauce. A great meal after a day of fun filled activities and best enjoyed with great company.
The place was intimate yet comfortable with relaxing interiors. The service was also good with very attentive wait staff on hand.

My boyfriend and I went here on a weekday night to celebrate his birthday. It was my first time to have eaten in this branch, as my first taste of the restaurant's fares was in their Boracay branch.
The service was good, and you could really tell that their people have been with the establishment for a long time. For me this is a good sign.
We chose a table by the garden, and I was a bit surprised because it took guests like us to arrive before they cleaned the table from dirt and remove insects from the chairs. I didn't expect this from one of the prominent and long standing boutique hotels in Tagaytay. Nevertheless, the servers were quick to do their job, and we were seated and choosing what to order in no time.
We just got two items from the menu since we planned to have dessert elsewhere:
* The Original Hawaiian Bar-B-Que's Baby Back Ribs
Fall-off-the-bone, sweetened just right & can please 3-4 persons (but we're only 2 so we're more than pleased)! ?
2. Pineapple BBQ Chicken Fried Rice
My boyfriend was too happy with this because he loves anything with pineapple. It took 10-15 minutes of deliberation, on whether or not he was going to order another serving hahaha. I managed to convince him to just get another cup of plain rice in the end.
I am really not a fan of pork ribs because some can have that stinky pig taste. But became a fan after I tried eating Hawaiian BBq Ribs ! It is so tasty, no after taste, the meat is juicy and oozing with flavors. I like that the barbecue sauce is not too sweet. It compliments the taste of the meat and does not over power it. I will definitely go back for the ribs!
Ambiance is perfect and their food is delicious and huge portion. Their staff is very accommodating, too. Worth the price! A must try: Their ribs.Β
Coming back here the next time I visit Tagaytay!
A good variety of choices. The have extremely good ribs especially for the price. Definitely worth the trip. Try the bulalo but be sure you have a lot of room for it.
