We were in Tagaytay and looking for a bar with excellent view and live music. Prices may come a bit pricey but with its excellent view and ambiance, I think it’s worth it.
One of the best bulalo and prochetta I've tasted in Tagaytay so far. Servong soce is gpof for groups of 3-4. Conveniently located in front of SMDC Wind and near attractions like Skyranch too.

The place is really nice especially in daytime because of the the lakes view and the food was just ok. Serving size per meal is good for 3 to 4 persons I guess. Service is ok.

The food was just ok, not something that I will go back to. But the service and the staff? They are the best! Such a friendly and attentive people. And for that alone, I will definitely go back with my hubby soon! ☺
Interior design - very IG-worthy.
Food - Good but not great. Their best-seller Porchetta was a disappointment because instead of a crispy skin, it was rubbery and oily. I'd recommend their dinosaur-sized Boneless Bangus though. The largest one we've seen!
Service - (Food going out of the kitchen) super fast. We haven't even finished our appetizers when the main courses started coming.
(Servers' attentiveness) uhm, it felt like they just woke up, literally. They are courteous, but just absent-minded. Would not want to go into details, I just hope that they improve because I would really want to go back.

Heard about this Resto on a "Top Tagaytay Restaurants list" online. I didnt expect it to have a lounge with performers at the 2nd floor every 8pm. Ambiance is pretty nice. Most of the windows at the 2nd floor are open so you can feel the cool air around which I liked. Not sure if its also that cool during the day time but at least youll get to see the view of the lake. Anyways lets get to the food part.
I was only with my mom when we ate here. Ordered Sweet Chili Calamares, Crispy pata Kare Kare (for 3 persons) and a bottle of San Mig fot me. Calamares was crunchy, perfectly seasoned and the meat was soft. I liked how the sauce was drizzled instead of being in a sauce bowl, but I guess you can request for one if you want more sauce. I just wished it was served a lot more warmer due to the cool temp of the room. Before it was served, I thought the crispy pata was mixed in a bowl along with the kare kare sauce and veggies but it was served on a separate bowl (see pic).That didnt bother me though. Sauce had the right amount of sweetness to it and the meat was tender and cut efficiently. Just wished the leg they gave us had less fat in it. The combo of the crispy pata meat with the kare kare sauce is definitley a must try. For this dish being 600+ for 3 persons, the price is fair considering the nice ambiance and its location. I havent tried their specialty dishes (llike the bulalo) but ill definitely come back again to do so. I would recommend this Restaurant but I suggest to go in a groups or with your family since food is usually for sharing. It sure does live up to its name as a Filipino Comfort food resto. Go there during day time if you want to see the lake view. If you plan to eat there for dinner but want some peace and quiet, go there before 8 when the bands usually perform, or stay on the first floor.

I've been a loyal customer since 2015. From their soft opening until their grand opening last June 2016. And for the last 2 years, I've never had a bad experienced in this restaurant, that's why I'm confused about the negative reviews that I've read in their page.
This resto is quite unique, they offer a variety of food choices, from Italian to Filipino cuisine. I especially love their Crispy pork sinigang, bulalo, and my all time favorite which is their Chicken Alfredo.
If it's your first time to dine in at The Lake District, you'll thought that it is quite expensive, but it's actually not. Their food is delicious with big servings, like their crispy pork sinigang that were good for a group of 4 people. You can also drink while enjoying their live band every night.
They also offer a very scenic view of Taal Volcano. Their interior is also very peculiar compare to other restaurants. A combination of modern style and the traditional residence of the people in upland.
To sum it up. It is a very homey restaurant. For all the people who has 2nd thoughts of trying their cuisine, don't be. It was worth the price. And for all the negative reviews in this page, give it one more try. Because this place rocks! 😉💜
P.S. One piece of advice, the 2nd floor is an open area so most of the people who smoke dine in that floor. So if you're a non smoker, dine in the first floor or choose a secluded place in the 2nd floor. 😊
There have been a lot of talk about the famous Lake District Restaurant in Lounge found in Tagaytay, Philippines. People have had a lot of mixed feelings about this place, saying it is a bit pricey and that the service is average. However, most of the people who send their reviews online have nothing but love for their food and ambiance. In fact, their restaurant has been named one of the 20 best kept restaurants in Metro Tagaytay.
I soooooo love the ambiance! Their bestseller Porchetta is great with the liver sauce (not liver spread 😉). Tender and juicy and I ate the half of the serving. Haha. And their salad tastes so fresh. This is one of the places I'll come back into Tagaytay.
6. They speak of modern and yet kinda old school look. From the bright lights, to the bicycle hanging over the wall and to this huge head of a deer sticking out on a brick wall. One must say that, you’d easily feel transported to a country home in the US. 7. They’re pet friendly. They allow customers to bring their pet. One important factor that most restaurant doesn’t provide.

How in God's name anyone can think the food and service here are bad... is simply beyond me.
The only negative I can say about the Lake District is that by the time we got here their most popular dishes (Porchetta with Lake District Liver Sauce, php 400, spicy garlic butter seafood platter, php 380, and adobo glazed ribs with grilled pineapple rum pho 480) were already sold out. Hence, we had to "settle" for other dishes.
But oh what a treat. If these were the "backup options", imagine what the specials are like!
For starters we ordered the Greek Salad (php 200) and the Spiced Fries with Tsokolate de Batirol Ganache (200). The salad was amazingly fresh, with the romaine lettuce crunchingly good. The honey mustard dressing was perfectly done, with just the right amount of tangy zip to complement the sweet flavor. And surprisingly it isn't thick at all. The fries were served with vanilla ice cream and the mixture of the potato with the chocolate was complemented by the contrasting cold creaminess.
You simply must try the sweet chili glazed calamares. The batter is so light and perfectly matched with the chili sauce that we forgot that there was a dip. It was THAT good. This is honestly the BEST CALAMARES I HAVE EVER TASTED. And it's a steal at php 185.
The tawilis sardines omurice (php 250) may not be as sour or strongly flavored as some may want, but I think the light tomato ketchup taste matches the sardines perfectly. If the ketchup were thicker, it might clash with the sardines own fishy oiliness.
For main course we had classic lechon kawali pinakbet. It was a bit saltier than i would prefer but not enough for me not to enjoy it.
Now the 490 php bulalo. I'll be frank. I absolutely cannot imagine ordering bulalo elsewhere.
In other places ("R" and "L") you feel that the meat had gone through several reincarnation cycles before being born into your plate. Here, the meat is obviously fresh and so soft that you don't even need a knife a cut it. My spoon was enough. It was so good that it wasn't stringy like others and won't get stuck in your teeth.
The bone marrow or utak was so good that it just falls out of the bone. My wife normally hates bulalo because of the bad experiences from other restaurants. The fact the she loved the bulalo here speaks volumes.
I will repeat. Lake District is now my gold standard for food here in Tagaytay. I am already planning to come back to see if their specialties that were out of stock can floor me even more.

My wife asked for fresh lemonade. We were told that it was not a menu item (they had mint lemonade with badoit) but they said they could make fresh lemonade for us. All I can say is that sometimes restaurant service suffers from peak season crowds BUT it's little things like this I appreciate.

6th Stop: The Lake District Restaurant
Gosh! Our 6th stop and I am still kicking. I was hypnotized by their glass wall bar at the top of their restaurant. Sadly, we cannot do "tambay" because the sun was up and we cannot bear the heat. That's why we were seated downstairs which is more comfortable, cooler and spacious. The lights was down during that time but some day lights passes through the glass roof of the restaurant. The interior is very modern using some bricks, woods and plain walls. There's a fire place too and hanging plants to give colors inside.
Once seated we order empanada and porchetta for all of us. As much as we wanted to order more we need to save space for our next stop.

Spiced fries, open-faced empanada and Beef Tenderloin in Laing sauce is something new but delicious. The restaurant also boast its nature+industrial inspired design.
We were not planning to dine in this restaurant but since the traffic was terrible outside, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the stuffed chicken dynamite for starter but the breading is too thick for me. I love the beef tenderloin stips with laing sauce, the beef is perfect with sauce and the rice has a bit of ginger and garlic flavour which is perfect!. We also ordered the sinigang sa miso with salmon stips. But unfortunately, the salmon stips is too "malansa" for me. I ordered chocolate truffle for dessert and it is to die for!!! I love it so much and i will definitely go back to order this again!
if you are looking for a place to feast your eyes and sink your teeth into decadent comfort pinoy fusion food, then this is the place to be, its not your typical local restaurant where every entree is salty and greasy (typical local flare) this one will wake up your taste buds for sure. The lake district is a gastropub that is modern and chic found in front of the summit ridge hotel. At the back is a foyer where yoi can enjoy the veiw of taal. They share the same compond as gerry's and papa doms. More on my blod soon.
For big families, you will not be disappointed to this wide space resto with a nice ambience. And they're open until past midnight so it's good for some late night dine out 😊

Both the cheese sticks and potato wedges came right out of a freezer. Something you would buy at Rustans. They looked pretty but both were not cooked entirely and the middle was still frozen.
I had their take on a Croque Monsieur which was quite pretty but tasted very bland. It's supposed to be cheesy with a rich bechamel. But it was very bland.
I imagine it's a great place to chill, have cocktails and enjoy the beautiful view
Unlike Gerry's next door I will give it another try.

We had a full course dinner in here and surprisingly the food is great! and the presentation of the food as well. The ambience of the first floor is chill, it was nice. The interior design's great. Classic and vintage! Also, their Crispy pork is a must try! I never had it with mashed potato, and it turned out really good. Their improvisation of the local meals are interesting. The Crispy Sinigang is good too, as they have this crisped "taba" for the pork. They have good pastas as well.
Although, the service was kind of dissapointing. The staffs are really friendly and accomodating, but since we had a full course meal. The order of the courses were not organized. The salad came out after the entrees, and so. And the utensils should've been provided properly.

Price is affordable, friendly staff. Definitely a place to visit especially for us who is no longer based in the Philippines. Something to look forward to when going for the holidays.

We were looking for a place which was special enough to spend my birthday in, but didn't cost a limb and an arm. We reserved a table on the rooftop but our table didn't have much of a view (except for the road and buildings). There were a couple empty tables where there would've been a view but for some reason they weren't seating any other people there which was a bit strange. The food was okay for the price and the servings were huge. Really appreciated the free dessert with the birthday greeting. Will probably be back for drinks next time.
I have a nice dinning experience here. Love the atmosphere and the lights. Nice place to chill. The food here is nice and the serving is like made to share for two and the price is just right.
The place is not discreet but the ambience, somewhat has a feeling of serenity for a bar. Maybe because I happened to be driving alone and looking for a nice place with super less crowd. This place is awesome! Plus the bartender offered me his cigar (because they don't have cigs). I had 2 rounds of Stella Artois @190/each. Not bad for a Belgium Premium huh..

I had free shots of Baileys. (I dunno why but they're nice..) operating hours on Saturday and Sunday is 11:00am-2:00am, the rest of the weekdays is until 1am only.

Staff are very accommodating, cozy place, and the foods were all amazing! We ordered buffalo wings and seasoned potato wedges, grilled chicken rosemary, chicken alfredo and chocolate truffle for dessert. They are all heavenly! A must visit in Tagaytay. Kudos to all the staff and management.

Celebrated my 24th birthday here and what can I say, you get a fine dining feel at a relatively affordable price. The food and the ambiance were simply excellent! You must order their Bulalo and Beef Karekare, simply the best. Youd feel instantly comfortable and relaxed with the ambience. The staff and the owner is very accomodating as well. We'll definitely come back to this place.

Super love the ambiance. The staff is super friendly and they really have a nice choice of liquor. For the price range its almost the same as having dinner in Manila, but for the fresh air and cool breeze this is definitely worth the drive.

I dined here with my boyfriend last Saturday. They let me bring my poodle in, which was terrific! The server was very kind to my dog and even told us about his own Chowchow. :-) The other server was very sweet to my dog and even picked him up and brought my dog in himself, LOL! OK but on to the food.
We ordered the fried squid. Really good but small serving, just six pieces I think. Next time I will order two so I don't have to share! Haha. Also ordered the fish and chips. Just OK, same fish and chips you get everywhere. Also ordered the Caesar Salad, which was super! Generous serving, stiff/fresh lettuce and very well flavored, with generous amount of grilled chicken pieces. Also ordered the fish fillet main course, forgot its name. The fish was cream dory so it was just OK, I'm not that fond of cream dory, but I have nothing bad to say about the dish. It came with a green mashed potato & beans side dish which was creative and tasty. All in all, I loved the food! :-) I just wish there were more seafood options available for their main course list.
We dined in the 2nd floor area. It was not yet finished since there was a fountain being setup but no water. And it seemed like the tarpaulins are leaking when it rains. But no biggy since we got there after it had rained already. Anyway it's still on soft opening so we'll see if it improves on the next visit.
Overall, great food, great service. Please increase the number of seafood dishes in the menu! :-)
