Food was soooooo great, approachable and polite staff, plus a very generous and friendly owner, Mr. Tatlonghari. Had fun listening to his stories. My family and I loved all the food that was served to us. My faves are their house salad, tea, and vietnamese coffee! But all were so delish! Really worth the visit. Keep up the good work. Thank you, Bawai's! Til next time! God bless you all :)

My wife & I went here for lunch without prior reservation but still they accomadated us! We ordered their spring rolls which was very refreshing. Their Bun Bo Hue was heart warming and to cap the meal, a luscious dessert called Che Bap. A cozy ambiance & a great meal is a match made in heaven. Their service is top notch. We would definitely come back here! Thank you Bawai's Kitchen!

My friends and I, all six of us, had lunch yesterday and we were all satisfied, gratified and very happy of the meals we had. Delicious and filling. Very cozy ambiance, homey, too. We surely are coming back for more, we loved it all. The pork belly with a somewhat omelet with it was good and the prawns with tamarind sauce was super. I loved the tamarind sauce particularly, so different yet so yummy. Keep it up please, service and food.

So glad that they let us in during the weekend even though we did not make a reservation. We enjoyed the place and food. Will definitely come back (with a reservation) because we want to try all of the dishes. Thank you, Bawai!

Searched Vietnamese food here in Zomato and found Bawai’s. The ambience is cozy. Good for dinner dates 😀. The food was great. We ordered Chicken Noodle Soup - this is so yummy! Pork Belly with rice - the serving is good for 2 pax, the pork belly was tender and delicious and we ordered of course my favorite fried Vietnamese spring rolls. It was perfect. No exaggeration, but the food, ambience, service is worth it. By the way, the price is 👍🏻

The ambience is tops becuse of the surroundings. It’s a restaurant built within a home. The dining area is airy and overlooking some gardenss. There was background music of Filipino classics set to instumentalpiano versions.
The staff are most accommodating and well trained to meet the diner’s needs. Our waitress was most attentive despite having to scuttle back and forth between tables on a full house.
This is where i discovered Pandan tea. What a revelation of sweet fragrant calming flavours. I’ll now be brewing my own once I get hold of fresh pandan leaves.
We ordered the savoury crepe with prawns pork and mushrooms. There wasnt any mushrooms in there and what counted as pork were thin slices of pork with a layer of fat. However the lovely texture of the crispy crepe made up for it. It doesnt taste like anything though unless you use the accompanying dipping sauce. The Bun bo hue pork knuckle and beef soup was flavourful. The Bawai house salad was light and refreshing. It’s the dish I wouldnt mind ordering again on my next visit. We got the ginger chicken which was flavourful and the meat fell of the bone but my dining companion felt it had a hint of unneccesary sweetness. I loved the thin slivers of ginger marinated in the sauce. I could eat a jar of that. The shrimp with Tamarind was a bit too oily.
Overall I enjoyed dining here because of the ambience, the lovely waitstaff and the flavours and fragrance of food that’s not just limited to the Pho and fresh spring rolls that I associate with Vietnamese cuisine. Plus the complimentary Pandan tea that I could drink pot after pot of, rather slowly and leisurely of course.

Away from the busy streets of Tagaytay, we found this restaurant through Waze app and was pleasantly surprised that it is inside the actual home of the owner. Reservations should be made as the place can accommodate a few guests at a time. We love how exclusive it was. Quiet, private, and the owner himself was very nice and introduced himself to talk a but about his restaurant.

We ordered the classic Cha Gio for starters. I always loved fried rolls. Each roll was big enough and stuffed to the brim. I got myself a Bun Tom - dry noodles, pickled veggies and buttered shrimps. The king prawns were soft and delicious. The entire bowl was a great mix and very satisfying. The hubby got a Pho Bo, a traditional beef noodle bowl. We were so happy with how much beef was served. Soft and tasty, it was perfect for that rainy afternoon.

I’m always in search for good Ca Phe Sua Da whenever we visit Vietnamese restaurants. I must say, their version is one of the best I’ve had. I only wish they have a branch nearby so I can have one everyday!

Twas a great dining experience altogether. We had the 2 kids with us, our baby was asleep and she was placed in the couch beside our table. The waiters even placed a fan for her. It’s a family-friendly place, the staff were all courteous and the food was served within minutes of ordering. We’d love to come back soon to try the other dishes.

Bawai's Silang is the best place to visit if you want some good vietnamese food. The prices are also just as good. The house turned restaurant was also something to look forward to. We love the food here. Be back real soon!

I haven't been here after my husband passed away.  I tried avoiding the restaurants that we always loved to eat at.  But I cant's seem to get away from the food that they do here.  Exclusive, quiet and totally homely, this is where an ideal family dinner should be.  Tops the list is their spring rolls.

Bawaii’s serves the best Vietnamese food in the Philippines, in my honest opinion. I’ve been to this original branch, which is a house in the middle of nowhere, since 2012. The owner is lovely, and the food is great. The flavors are a little milder than what I’m used to in Vietnam, but was able to adjust it with my liking with the right condiments. The pho is good, but I’m happy they serve bun bo hue. Recently, I tried their bun rieu which was amazing! Again, a little weak on the flavor, but I fixed that by adding a lot of chili. However, what stood out with this dish was the amount of toppings! They add real crab meat too!! I didn’t even get real crab meat on my Bun Rieu of all times I went to Vietnam, so this was amazing. The fresh spring rolls are also a must.

The location is not easy to map out but with Waze, you’ll easily find it. I love that it’s hidden in a residential area, I think it adds to the unique vibe. The restaurant itself is very cozy and elegant. Absolutely love it. Service is great too. Can’t wait to try their Ban Xeo next.

I was invited for a pre wedding dinner in Tagaytay when I heard it was going to be at BAWAI's excitement loomed ,it's been quite sometime that I've learned about this place from food afficionados. Authentic Vietnamese restaurant owned and managed by a Fil-Viet couple.

The place was like an old Filipino house with some Vietnamese decors and accents, nice lighting which set a very pleasant mood. The male owner (Mr Virgilio)was there to welcome every guests which made the dining experience very personal.Servers are very knowledgeable about Vietnamese herbs and terms a big thumbs up!

Shrimp skewered in sugar cane( Chao Tom)-pounded shrimp skewered in sugar cane, with sides of noodles and pickled veggies. It like shrimp roll with some secret ingredients of course ,tasty and this starter is one of the most popular dishes that evening.

Chicken salad ( Goi Ga)-shredded carrots and cabbage, Southeast Asian herbs ,steamed chicken in house vinaigrette. The vinaigrette opens the palate for more Vietnamese dishes ,great appetizer.

(Goi Con)Fresh Spring Roll -Traditional Vietnamese rolls with vermicelli, veggies, pork and shrimp.Ive been to Vietnam on numerous occasions ,nice replica of the traditional one.

Caramelized Salmon with side dish (Ca thom to)-salmon in special sauce served with salsa.First time to have tasted such delectable fish dish nice approached of saltiness complemented by the salsa.

Pork belly( Com Suon Cha) - grilled pork belly marinated in caramel lemongrass served with mushroom egg pie.Crispy skin belly , Southeast Asian note ,the mushroom egg pie was very appealing it's like an omelette with subtle flavors.

Tom Rang Me- Tiger prawns in tamarind sauce garnished with herbs and sesame seeds.Loved the tanginess that the tamarind brought in, Vietnamese herbs adds another element that made it more authentic.

Pho Bo- traditional Vietnamese beef noodles.Hot beef broth with some beef chunks but for my taste it lacked on the original PHO's character that I'm looking for in this dish.

Hu Tieu- pork and seafood broth base with noodles, pork belly and seafood.Murky, unique and flavorful merged flavors of pork ribs and seafood reminiscent of my food crawl in Danang.

Ban Dha Lon- Yellow mung bean and pandan cake,in coconut paste ,topped with sesame seeds.Just perfect to finish an exceptional supper.

A Happy place indeed,Mr. Virgilio was even surprised when I uttered some Vietnamese terms upon leaving.☺️☺️☺️🇵🇭🇻🇳

Not very easy to locate at first (even for someone like me who lives just 10kms away) but that was part of the journey, of course.

I'm so surprised that the restaurant earned an average rating since the food is great especially if you know the right ones to order e.g. Nem Nuong. I like their basic approach on Vietnamese food, a cuisine which banks on the taste rather than the presentation.

Just to be on the safe side, be sure to make a reservation first before going, as the place is not too big to accommodate a big party.

Great food, reasonable for its price but made sure you have reservations before coming. Tagaytay branch opens on 4 days only thursday to sunday. Accomodating server, service charge is minimal so its on you to give an extra depends on your discretion on their service.

The best restaurant.5/5👍🏻👍🏻
My boyfriend really wants to try and dine at Bawai's ever since, as he heard good feedback about the place.
So, He booked a table for two, a week before the reservation date.
The place is kinda, hidden, not the typical restaurant that you can visibly see along the highway but it's super worth it.

The food was awesome 👍🏻👍🏻
I can't wait for my next visit to try all of their authentic Vietnamese dishes (I am in love with their Chicken Curry).
Another reason I want to visit the place again are the owners.
We didn't felt like we're customers, we were treated like special visitors/family. The owners are very accommodating and hands on, which you won't experience from other restaurants. They even served us free dessert and free refreshing iced cold Vietnamese coffee.❤️

Overall, we had the greatest dining experience.
Will definitely visit again and recommend it to my friends and family. 👌🏻👍🏻

Me and ze homies conveniently agreed to have our dinner at Bawai! I've already tried their Katipunan and Nuvali branch but there was still an excitement as we head to the place. After all, this is the flagship restaurant.

Bawai can be tricky to find so make sure to use Waze app to locate them. We arrived before 6pm as scheduled. There is nothing fancy about Bawai and that's what I love about them. It's literally a house and part of the second floor was converted into a restaurant.

The girls gave me the green signal to order our food. I got us my staple order - Bawai Salad, spring rolls, Beef Pho and Double grilled pork belly. Everything was still uber yummy!

I don't usually drink coffee but when I do, I always go for Vietnamese Iced coffee. The sweet creamy taste of the condensed milk blending harmoniously with the dark Viet coffee is what I live for. So much that I had 3 glasses!

Major plus to Bawai for giving us free dessert and iced coffee. 🙌🏼

We also tried their Banh Mi Heo, butter toasted baguette with pate, pork, cha lou and greens. We would have loved this without the butter taste on the bread.

The highlight of our visit was probably meeting the owner of the place - Mr. Virgilio Tatlong Hari. He took the time to chat with us and we found out about the following:

👵🏼The name Bawai means grandmother.
👵🏼His wife is a mix of Vietnamese and French. We met through Mr. Virgilio and she was also pleasant.
🍲50% of their ingredients are sourced in Vietnam.
👍🏼They're planning to open a branch in Uptown BGC. (yay!)

They have been in the business for quite a while but Mr. Virgilio remains humble and grounded. After our visit, it made me love the restaurant more and already thought of my next visit.
