I usually dine here for lunch once or twice a month after my work in tagaytay. My dining experience was always pleasurable. It was my first time to visit with my family for dinner. The ambience was really nice at night. The filipino food that we ordered did not disappoint us. My son loved the place and we’ll definitely comeback again.

Charming little place, low key, but homey. Their dining tables are upcycled old sewing machine bases. Ample parking space. Attentive staff.

Rekados’ version of Paella Valenciana is really good. Loaded with meat and seafood. The rice was cooked perfectly, not dry or mushy and it’s also absorbed the flavors well. The Garlic Spicy Mussels (not on the menu but the chef graciously offered to cook it for us) had fresh mussels and the sauce was so incredibly delicious!

My second time to eat here and it never disappoints. It is located in Tagaytay. If you want an artsy place to eat at you should probably go here. Some of their stuff are recycled and vintage just like their table that’s made up of old school sewing machine! Great food and great place to dine. The ambiance is very comfortable and warm. ❤️

Came here one night on my cousin's recommendation. It surely did not disappoint!

Their cucumber juice was interestingly different. Crispy pata was one of the best I have tasted. The rest of the dishes we ordered were satisfactory but not extraordinary.

Great staff service definitely augmented our positive dining experience. One of them even switched the garden lights on and showed where they usually hold weddings and marriage proposals. Truly a great ambience!

For food portions, location and quality of service, this is one of the better restos I have recently visited thus far.

Pros: food tastes good especially the kare kare, bulalo and sinigang!
The price is worth every penny.
The staffs are very polite and accomodating.

Cons: if you are looking for a good ambiance well this place is not for you.
The place is too small

If asked will i return. Surely i will!

My expectations were pretty high about this place. I’ve been seeing a lot of photos and the place is definitely a pleasant venue for family celebrations and intimate conversations. I found nothing special about their food, though. I contacted them through mobile phone to place a reservation for our family lunch to celebrate my lola’s 80th birthday. The process was smooth and they were professional about it. I wanted to arrange a little surprise for my lola, so I sent them a message beforehand to ask if it was possible to have a slice of cake ready. They obliged and said they will serve a complimentary slice for the celebrant. I was more than happy to know this. However, while we were eating, I was waiting for the server, or anyone from their team, to approach our table about the cake, but no one did. So, I called the server to ask for the slice but to my dismay, she knew nothing about it. She even came back to our table and told me they can prepare a slice of my choice, and handed me the menu. I asked her, “is this complimentary?”, and she said no. I was becoming frustrated considering that I made sure this was going to be flawless beforehand. I told her that I pre-arranged this and I was told that the cake will be complimentary. Nobody from their team seemed to know about the arrangement, which was a deal breaker for me. It was my lola’s 80th birthday after all. I would come back to this place only if someone invites me.

I've noticed this restaurant a few times in the past, coming from tagaytay. Never gave it much thought as I hardly saw any cars parked outside. Tonight, I was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and food quality. Had the guisadong monggo which came with toasted chorizo toppings. Great deep fried tawilis to match.

Will definitely be back

For starter, I ordered mushroom soup, the ever loyal and faithful appetizer. Honestly, I don't eat mushrooms too much but my instinct told me to try this out, so I did. And yeah, I knew it. My instinct never fail me. All I know is I caught myself enjoying and finishing my soup.

Next is Paella Valenciana. I'm allergic to seafood, but who cares? I bet, no one can resist this one and I will regret this the whole night if I did not try this out.

Next is Barbecue Chicken Pizza and Pizza Margarita. So when I saw these two beauties, my heart is melting. They were both good. But my personal favorite was the Barbecue Chicken Pizza. I love the smoky flavor and the crispiness of the crust.

If there is a dish that would make me come back for more, it would be the Grilled Salmon. I don't know if I'm being bias because salmon is my favorite but one thing is for sure, their salmon is for the win.

lunch hunting was hard not only because there were a myriad of options of restos to chooooose from but also because of the slooow and congested traffic flow of people coming down and going up to tagaytay. the road to eating took us far down off tagaytay proper to the sta. rosa road where we saw this somewhat hidden yet rustic resto that specializes in a spanish-filipino fare. the prices were reasonable and then we saw this maliputo in the menu. maliputo is a fish found only in the taal lake, better than talakitok i was told and can be bought up to as much as 1000 per kilo (woah, right?!). the waiter suggested that the fish they have on hand can be cooked ala sinigang sa sampalok and char-grilled. the sinigang one was the BEST! not only was the fish meat soft but the taste of it was amazing and the vegs were fresh! the service was at par and so was the place. one aircon unit's fan could not be fixed to a steady flap and the table that we transferred to seemed to nest a family of red ants in it's cracks. nevertheless, me and fajah enjoyed it very much + we had a trio (band) that sang for us and fajah's bday song.

Hi! Just want to share my experience eating here at Rekado's :) My hubby and i ordered 3 diffirent dishes. Baby back ribs, Chicken and Pork adobo flakes and lastly the Carbonara. The serving is almost good for two persons! Paid everything for 850 pesos only! Super worth it. We didn't order drinks and dessert anymore cus our tummy's full already :) Definitely going back for more! The crew and service is very nice too. They even have a live band going to table by table :) They also have a Garden which is only accessible for Party/Events

Gambas was a small serving with small shrimp. Paella was decent, the creamy chorizo was surprisingly very good! Pasta was al dente, chorizo not overpoweringly garlicky, but the cream was still a nice contrast. It was a little sweet. The place is great, ambiance very welcoming, just like the staff. Definitely recommend!

Going to Tagaytay? Rekados Cafe and Restaurante is a great stop over for a good meal along Sta. Rosa- Tagaytay National Road in Silang, Cavite. It serves local Filipino dishes with Spanish culinary influence.  Our favorite here is their paella particularly the Paella Negra (P495). It's the dish that we always go back for.

Casual dining with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were extremely attentive and courteous, always a must when we explore and dine. I highly recommend their Salmon, cooked well, firm, and chewy. This is sort of a preference as I've mostly had salmon cooked by restaurants too soft and would break apart when handled with the fork. The salmon miso is also a great dish. Very well priced given the taste and the amount of food you will get.

I love this place! If you are looking for authentic Filipino food prepared in a modern way, plus the refreshing and relaxing ambiance, this is a new place to go. Best to try their sisig, chorizo pasta, kare-kare and adobo! Love also their sangria and sticky suman with mango for dessert. They also have a store that sells some of the food items they serve in the resto (i.e., house peanuts, bottles tinapa, chili fakes and other local delicacies and pastries).

It was ok.
The ambiance was cozy and homey. I liked the quirky use of Sewing machine legs as tables. Very resourceful and creative. From there they can probably improve their sound system. It is stationed at their counter and we were seated at the far back, and were lucky that there were hardly any people at the time of our arrival. Their choice of songs is hit and miss, with bossa nova/acoustic songs. They can go the extra mile and get jazz or elevator music.

As for service, I particularly liked how our server pushed their paella dishes when he was about to take our orders. That initiative as commendable. Despite this, and their straight looking floor plan, the server had particular difficulty in answering to our calls (given that we were at the end of the room and with hardly any people there). Though I'd excuse them for that given that they have tables outside the cafe proper. I'd just recommend for their servers to stick with their assigned tables.

As for the food, sure the average check is a bit high but it's worth it. We ordered a mere snack since we wanted to pass the time for the traffic at the road. The complimentary peanuts were cute for that occasion. Their three cheese pizza along with a cafe latte and affogato was ok. Nothing fanciful or lacking in them. Although it seemed like the pizza was a tad bit cold and not as warm as if it was taken from the oven. This could be because it took a bit of time to be served.

The take off starts here, apparently for that high of an average check, they apparently don't have a cash register with a printed receipt. We had to wait a good 5 minutes to ask for the receipt after paying for our meal (odd how they don't give it with the change).
In the end it was ok, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt seeing as their establishment offers some good potential.

Rekados is located at a convenient area in Tagaytay. Both the exterior and interior are well-designed and well thought of. The concept being Spanish-Filipino food with a twist, their dishes come in ample servings and can be shared. With regards to taste, Rekados hit the mark especially with their paellas.

Let me start by saying that my dining experience here is one of a kind! Yes, it's that good! Okay, I'm by no means a pro food blogger, so I'll just stick with the recommended format. First, the ambiance. Just look at the pictures that I've uploaded. Need I say more? Okay, I will, anyway (lol). Upon entering the vicinity, I was greeted by those hanging light bulbs, signaling that I'm off to a great experience. As we entered the cafe (we didn't dine outside because one, we have two babies with us and two, there's a wedding reception going on), I felt cozier than when I'm in that famous cafe (if you know what I mean! Ha!).  The table, the hanging ornaments, so homey. They also have vintage stuff (fun fact: the tables that they have are actually old sewing machines. You can still see the still-functional pedals under!) that added up the coziness of the place.

Next, the service. We've waited 6-10 minutes for our food to arrive. For me, I thought it was forever (I'm very hungry! Don't judge! LOL) but we went around the vicinity while waiting. The waiters/waitresses are so kind and approachable, matching the welcoming ambiance of the place. They even open doors for you! Hahahaha. Whenever our wine glass (with water, of course) are half-empty, they immediately fill it up again (okay, small thing, but it matters!) They're all smiles and always available for you. I mean, not in all restaurants waiters are ALWAYS available. They can even anticipate what you need! They're that good! (like, when I'm looking around with my hands open after eating shrimps, a waiter came and asked "You need napkins, sir?"). So yeah, you won't be having a customer vs. waiter moment here worthy of a Facebook upload (that is bound to be viral) and a write-up from When in Manila! LOL

Lastly, but definitely not the least, the food! OMGosh! The food is SUBLIME, to say the least. I didn't taste all of the food in the menu, but a lot of them I did, since we've ordered the boodle meal (hey! We're hungry! LOL). And boy are they delish! I mean, their monggo soup! It has a twist! They used bacon instead of the traditional ground pork/chicharon! The grilled pork, the fried chicken, the ensaladang talong at mangga, the grilled squid, ALL OF THEM! I can't say more about the food, so you better just visit this place! AWESOME!
