Crab rice is still the best! Pork sisig is consistent in its taste and also gambas is awesome! They have some dessert available to choose with. The place however is quite dim for me.

Today’s late lunch at this branch in Tomas Morato validated why Gerry’s Grill is one of the premium destinations for Filipino cuisine. Everything we had today was done right, and that meant me having more than I should.

The Sisig was the best seller and I understood why. It was tasty, crisp and lean. This goes well with some vegetables in Pinakbet. The vegetables used were fresh.

I also found the Beef Kare Kare stellar. It was creamy and had ample servings of meat. The sauce was good enough even without its usual partner in bagoong.

The Bulalo was special. From tender beef chunks to its savory, warm broth. I recommend ordering this Tagaytay specialty when in big groups.

On dessert, I love the housemade, Ube Ginataan. It had the right level of sweetness. I just hope they add saba and more of the chewy, bilo bilo.

Our group ate here and we had a nice experience. The food is great, I love their chicken lollipops, I heard they have the best sisig in town, so even though I don’t really eat sisig, I did try it. Also, they have a nice service and well ventilated place.

I had their sisig, and it was pretty good. It's better with more kalamansi than they give, to cut through the richness, and it's lacking chili, but it's a solid sisig. Gerry's is a fairly reliable place for Filipino food, only issue is that the food can take a while to come out

We had our family dinner here recently and ordered our usuals —

1. Pork sisig - Of course! Why else would you come here, right? I think their sisig is one of the best in Metro Manila, although I still prefer the crispy alternative.

2. Bulalo - Yum! The broth was perfect, and the serving was reasonable.

3. Bangus ala pobre - Good flavor, and the bangus was fresh and huge. Wish they made it boneless, though.

4. Lumpiang shanghai - My kids’ favorite. Delicious and well-prepared.

5. Garlic rice - This deserves a special mention, too. Perfect for garlic-lovers like myself.

Alms, alms, alms. Spare me a piece of bread. Spare me your mercy. I am a child so young, so thin, and so ragged. Why are you staring at me? With my eyes I cannot see but I know that you are all staring at me. Why are you whispering to one another? Why? Do you know my mother? Do you know my father? Did you know me five years ago?

Yes, five years of bitterness have passed. I can still remember the vast happiness mother and I shared with each other. We were very happy indeed.

Suddenly, five loud knocks were heard on the door and a deep silence ensued. Did the cruel Nippon’s discover our peaceful home? Mother ran to Father’s side pleading. “Please, Luis, hide in the cellar, there in the cellar where they cannot find you,” I pulled my father’s arm but he did not move. It seemed as though his feet were glued to the floor.

The door went “bang” and before us five ugly beasts came barging in. “Are you Captain Luis Santos?” roared the ugliest of them all. “Yes,” said my father. “You are under arrest,” said one of the beasts. They pulled father roughly away from us. Father was not given a chance to bid us goodbye.

We followed them mile after mile. We were hungry and thirsty. We saw group of Japanese eating. Oh, how our mouths watered seeing the delicious fruits they were eating,

Then suddenly, we heard a voice call, “Consuelo. . . . Oscar. . . . Consuelo. . . . Oscar. . . . Consuelo. . . . Oscar. . . .” we ran towards the direction of the voice, but it was too late. We saw father hanging on a tree. . . . dead. Oh, it was terrible. He had been badly beaten before he died. . . . and I cried vengeance, vengeance, vengeance! Everything went black. The next thing I knew I was nursing my poor invalid mother.

One day, we heard the church bell ringing “ding-dong, ding-dong!” It was a sign for us to find a shelter in our hide-out, but I could not leave my invalid mother, I tried to show her the way to the hide-out.

Suddenly, bombs started falling; airplanes were roaring overhead, canyons were firing from everywhere. “Boom, boom, boom, boom!” Mother was hit. Her legs were shattered into pieces. I took her gently in my arms and cried, “I’ll have vengeance, vengeance!” “No, Oscar. Vengeance, it’s God’s,” said mother.

But I cried out vengeance. I was like a pent-up volcano. “Vengeance is mine not the Lord’s”. “No, Oscar. Vengeance is not ours, it’s God’s” these were the words from my mother before she died.

Mother was dead and I was blind. Vengeance is not ours? To forgive is divine but vengeance is sweeter. That was five years ago, five years. . . .

Alms, alms, alms. Spare me a piece of bread. Spare me your mercy. I am a child so young, so thin, and so ragged. Vengeance is not ours, it’s God’s. . . . It’s. . . . God’s. . It’s…

Gerry's is our favorite pinoy foods resto. Love the dishes in this place. Prices are also very reasonable. One thing to improve with this branch is service. Wait staff need to be more attentive

We wanted something Filipino for lunch that's why we went to Gerry's Grill.

Ambiance: Not really okay. But kind of tolerable at least, maybe its normal since its occupied with many people.

Service: Not really fast but, like what I said, tolerable because there are many people when we visited.

Food: The food is okay but the quality of how it taste is not worth the price. Also, the Kare-Kare is not rich in taste.

Gerry's grill tomas morato a huge place however a lot of people tend to eat here so we had to wait to be seated. The staffs were also very friendly and attentive to our needs. Food was amazing i enjoyed the sisig-- and its also one of their best sellers. The price of the food was reasonable, only problem here is the parking! Its hard to park, this branch is near abs cbn so its usually crowded and parking area is limited and always full.

If you're stuck at home by your lonely only self, and don't feel like cooking but sick of having fast food all the effin' time, pick up the phone and order Gerry's Grill bagoong fried rice. It's an excellent value-for-money choice as it yields 2 to 3 portions per order. And it keeps very well.

Gerry's can be counted on for no-frills Pinoy food for large family celebrations, corporate lunches or for drinking with friends.

This particular instance, however, I went here to have a quick dinner with an officemate. We made the mistake of ordering roasted chicken which took quite a while getting to us. (Understandably, it shouldn't be undercooked!)

We wolfed it down (together with hot steamed rice) as soon as it was served. Its was a rushed meal, but delicious just the same.

I hope to eat again here soon... hopefully in a more leisurely manner.

It's our lunch break and we decided to eat in here beside our workplace which is the ABS-CBN.

Gerry's Grill is known for their sisig and their seafoods, and yes we ordered them and amazed with the taste of it. It's pricey but your money would be worth it.

One of my favorite Filipino restaurants. The usual items like sisig, inihaw na pusit and sinigang dishes are winners. But other notable items are the dinakdakan, inihaw na manok and sisig bangus. Most dishes are good though. Off menu, you can just order the soup of sinigang for 25 bucks!

To their place, it's nice also it's big, they can really accommodate groups/barkadas. Their staff are all approachable and they are efficient and nice as well. About their food, I could say, they are all delicious, we ordered Itlog maalat ensalada, Beef Kaldereta and their new Binagoongang rice (good for 4-5) I love this rice because it is with green mango in thin slices, pork, egg and onions. I love the combo! I actually had 3 cups of it. 😎😎😎 super delicious, also their beef is really really tender. But I think they overused their onions because we noticed that there are too lots of it to all the food we ordered. Tho, I still love it! Thumb's up Gerry's Grill.

Gerry's Grill Tomas Morato has an average but still quite comfortable and clean interior. The wait staff are ok, but could work on being more attentive. Serving sizes are just right and the meals in this branch are well cooked.

This is my definite go to place for bangus sisig and bagoong rice.

Gerry's Grill is one of the restaurants worth coming back to with friends and family (you'll enjoy it if you're a large group because the foods are for sharing). Sisig, I think is the best dish they have, crunchy and spicy and all. They also have a lot of branches already so almost always there will be Gerry's near you.

For me no one beats gerry's grill when it comes to sisig. Crunchy, spicy, savory! The flavors just exploded in my mouth. Fried chicken is ok, pancit is also ok. The only thing that's not ok is only one aircon is running. All in all, it was good.

Whenever my colleagues and I are craving for Filipino food, Gerry's Grill is our number one choice.

There are many food choices to choose from but Beef Kare-Kare and Tuna Belly will always be included in our order. Their beef kare-kare is the best among the rest. The beef is very soft and the serving is good enough for sharing.

My friend celebrated his birthday here. They have party meals that includes pork sisig, inihaw na pusit, inihaw na tilapia, grilled liempo and more. We also ordered Sinigang na Baboy, kare kare and fried chicken. They really showcase how patriotic they are in terms of depicting themselves as real truly Filipino. They made it to a point that whoever eat here will surely be delighted and proud that they offer Filipino cuisine and cooked it in a magnificent way. They also have alcohol drinks such as weng weng, zombie and etc. Just make sure that you will still have a straight thinking after drinking those stuff because I tell you those people really knows how to mixed good drinks. Make sure that you will not knocked out after drinking those mixed drinks. Gerry's Grill is perfect for birthday celebration and gatherings.

The softest and most flavorful Kare-Kare that I have tasted was only at Gerry's Grill. Not only that, the serving is really big that I think three or four persons can share one order of this.

The peanut sauce was thick and full of flavor. Even if my friends don't eat vegetables that much especially eggplant, they ate them because of the peanut sauce and the shrimp paste.

Everything is perfect in this dish. The meat, the vegetables, and the sauce. Guaranteed money well spent.

A recommended place to bring your balikbayan friends or foreigner guests who want to try Filipino food.

I met up with a group of old friends recently, and decided to have lunch at Gerry's Grill, just like the old days. But this time, we decided to have a healthier lunch, all seafood, no pork. And everything seemed to work out as planned. Almost.

The seafood selection at Gerry's Grill is quite extensive, and with so many choices, an all-seafood lunch can be a satisfying option. With much confidence and will power, we proceeded with our all-seafood lunch. The Crispy Pla-Pla (Deep-Fried Tilapia), with a refreshing side of ensalada, consisting of eggplant, tomatoes, onions and bagoong (shrimp paste). The Crispy Pla-Pla (Deep-Fried Tilapia), with a refreshing side of ensalada, consisting of eggplant, tomatoes, onions and bagoong (shrimp paste). Tahong ala Pobre (mussels in spicy sauce with garlic), topped with crunchy fried garlic bits and a spicy sauce. An old favorite, great with garlic fried rice. Even better with a few beers. The mussels were gone in a few minutes, and we had to go for another one. The heat from the spicy sauce builds up gradually, and a cold beer is just perfect. This one's a winner, and a really good way to start a meal at Gerry's Grill. The Grilled Blue Marlin Steak, thick-cut, tender and juicy. The soy marinade and the smoky grilled taste enhance the delicate flavor of the fish. A dipping sauce of vinegar and chili is provided, but the Blue Marlin is really good on its own. The Grilled Tuna Belly, marinated in sweet soy sauce that caramelizes when grilled, adding a rich layer of flavor. And like the Blue Marlin, the marinade and the smoky grilled flavor blend so well, each juicy bite simply bursts with so much flavor. Grilled Baby Squid, soft, tender and juicy. The caramelized marinade leaves a thin crust, adding a delicious texture to the dish. If you enjoy squid, you'll love this dish, definitely a must-try. Kilawin Puso ng Saging (Sauteed Banana Blossom), cooked in vinegar, capped our all-seafood lunch. Things were going well, until.

Ok, maybe not a hundred percent seafood. Just had to sneak in some pork. Blame it on the table beside us who ordered some crispy pork belly, and we couldn't help but order the same thing. Gerry's Grill's Lechon Kawali, crisp, deep-fried pork belly, another all-time favorite at Gerry's Grill. We tried, but eventually succumbed to pork, a delicious failure at least. Maybe next time. The busy charcoal grill, where all the grilled specialties are prepared. Meet Glen Magato, head chef and grill master of Gerry's Grill. Glen ensures you get a perfectly grilled dish all the time. If you suddenly feel like having an all-seafood lunch, check out Gerry's Grill. Good food, great value.

Tales From The Tummy

I was one the bloggers invited to try the new dishes concocted by the chefs at Gerry's Grill. We were having dinner at their Tomas Morato branch, I was unfortunately late because of the horrendous traffic on EDSA. I apologized profusely since I prefer to be on time always.

I tried the Shrimp and Chips, fried breaded shrimp on top of french fries. I'm a sucker for fried seafood and this was no exception, I had a couple of shrimps and I even finished off the last piece to avoid wasting the food. The breading was still crispy even after sitting awhile and the shrimps tasted fresh.

I love the Tinomok,to describe it simply its Laing covered meatballs. Taro leaves cooked in coconut milk covered the hidden meat inside. I had already tried this dish at Gerry's before so I knew what to expect unlike the others who were filled with questions about this dish.

I tried and loved the Adobong Puso Rice, the rice was covered in banana leaves and had to be opened in the middle with a knife which released the fragrant smell. This reminded me of the Chinese "kiampong", which literally means salted rice. The rice was very good but I think plain rice would have been a better match to the variety of rich dishes we had that night.

Gerr's Grill famous Sisig was also a hit. It was crispy and full of garlic flavor. It seems this was not only a hit with us since almost all the other tables had an order or two.
Some of the other dishes I tried that were good were the Pork Binagongnan and Sizzling Tilapia ala Pobre, both o which are new dishes.

I had Sansrival for dessert, it was ok but lacked the creaminess I wanted and also was a little too crispy for my taste.

Its a shame they did not serve Inihaw na Pusit that night, that is my favorite dish and the dish that has made Gerry's Grill famous.
