Thick sauce. Not to oily. Flavorful meat. The houseblend iced tea is another catch. Not your typical iced tea.
Price is lower compared to others. Overall rate 8/10

I like their food especially their kani maki. The ramen taste good. I prefer the chashu than the seafood though. The onigiri was my least favorite. It doesn’t have much taste in it.

Food: 7/10
Ambiance: 6/10 (kinda hot prolly due to the weather)
Service: 7/10 (we weren’t informed that credit cards were not accepted when we dined in)

Quick service. Clean place. Nice ambiance. Friendly qnd helpful servers. We had their ramen and gyoza with orange juice. There's a lot in their menu but we just had to try their ramen first. Their ramen is a solid 4.3/5 for me.

Ramen never fail to make my eyes sparkle. Just thinking about twirling noodles and slurping its rich yet delicate broth brings so much happy vibes. And last Tuesday, R and I visited an off the radar ramen joint in SM North Edsa. This ramen and teppanyaki restaurant has been around for a few years now at SM Light Mall. It recently moved to SM North adding more Japanese selection to the bustling mall.

It's ok. It could be cheaper for the quality of the food but it's not bad. The staff are courteous and the preparation time is good. I just find what we ordered mediocre including the dumplings. Still, I enjoyed the meal, they have the spiciest ramen that I have tasted so far and I loved the spiciness.

If you are looking for affordable ramen, Taisho Ramen and Teppanyaki House could be one of your options.

The price range of their ramen bowls is priced within P300 range.

We ordered their chashu ramen and we were not disappointed. Its broth is tasty enough and had big serving. They were also generous with toppings of pork loins.

We also ordered their gyoza as well as their green tea ice cream (P80). Their gyoza is nothing exceptional but it’s served with shredded cabbage and sesame mayo on the side, while their matcha ice cream tastes good.

We also love how their location is at the center of SM North garden. It’s really accessible.

As a  ramen lover and freestyle evaluator I can say that their Hakata Ramen Tonkotsu deserves a 4.5 rating! The creamiest and tastiest white pork trotter soup over hard ramen I have tasted so far! Because this is my first time to enter Taisho in the sky garden of SM North EDSA (I had no intention to enter until one of their employees outside convinced me to enter; moreover, the bowls were not beautifully designed so this turns off ramen lovers: attention, management!), I asked if black garlic oil  was available for the Ramen. It was not available. Instead, I added raw crushed garlic and pickled ginger to complement the soup's strong porky odor and its deliciousness was enhanced further. It was served warm but did not burn my taste buds. Serving size is in a black triangular ramen bowl, good for one person only. Although at the Php 300 class, It goes beyond its price for deliciousness beyond compare: the porky odor is NOT derived by adding chicharones (such is the case with hanamaruken, IMHO) but by carefully boiling trotters, skin and fat very slowly to get the white creamy and tasty soup. Ramen tonkotsu comes with a splash of green onions, tamago egg, and thin pork slices, and white veggies, presentation is appealing to the eye. I will definitely come back to taste the other ramen varieties of Taisho ramen. I am recommending this place for true Ramen lovers: you won't regret it!

Place and atmosphere of the resto is ok, customer service is good fast but it takes a while to get their attention sometimes when you need something else considering that the place is not that big, food the Hakkata Tonkotsu Ramen is the must try, I love it with a lot of crushed garlic.

AMBIANCE (3/5)
The place was a bit dolled up better than your regular casual Japanese dining. But the cleanliness of the area affected the desirability of the place. I don't know but I guess it would've been better if you don't really see all those people walking to and from Trinoma via the Sky Garden. 🤔

SERVICE (3.5/5)
Since the place was relatively small, you should easily get the attention of the staff but that didn't go so well. It took a little time for the servers to get to you and get your orders. It honestly discouraged me from asking more for what I need.

FOOD (3.5/5)
If you love ramen, you should order your own bowl. The experience becomes unsatisfactory when you share this bowl of ramen with someone but it would be enough if you get your own. Nonetheless, I liked the rolls we ordered (unfortunately, I forgot what it's called): spicy and cheesy! Also, be warned that the "mochi" served on the side of the Vanilla Ice Cream w/ Red Bean is not flavored LOL but I like foods with that kind of texture so it's not so bad. 😅

Dined here with my father due to the craving for ramen and I've been eyeing this Nippon resto for months.
Upon arriving they took us to a table where a set of customer had just finished and quickly cleaned the place for us to seat and immediately got our orders. We ordered two chashu ramen, a tofu salad and the refillable green tea.
It took a while for our order to be served because it's a weekend night and the resto was packed.
The food and price were both considerable and fine, the ramen was bland and a bit oily for me but was enough to satisfy my cravings. The tofu salad was good, but not enough ingredients. They had complete condiments in the table (soy sauce, sesame seeds, salt, garlic) and they got me at their refillable green tea. The crew were attentive and friendly enough.
Over-all it was a tummy fulfilling experience, but not sure if I would come back again.

I'm gonna say ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to give it a boost. Taisho Ramen is one of the most underrated restos at The Block. They have quality food at affordable prices and their staff are very accommodating. I ordered Chamen Ramen and Rocky Roll which are both awesome and plentiful (one bowl of ramen is good for two pax already). Had lunch here past 2 pm and inabutan ko yung staff and cooks having a casual chat with their store manager at the rear corner of the resto. You can say they have a good relationship and team work. They're all laughing and noting on some details on how to improve the taste of their yakisoba and ramen lol! It's very nice to see these things. No wonder these people render great service and appetising food! 👏👏👏

Me and my Bf wanted to have some Ramen, well actually It was really just me haha! :D searching for authentic and delicious ramen I found Taisho with the help of Zomato. When we entered, the nice server (a girl) offered us the side table near the cashier, where she turned on the fan and positioned it directly to us. (The weather is so humid that time and I just want to be infront of the fan or near the AC).
⭐️Food- We ordered Ninniku Ramen and Karamen Ramen, Pork Gyoza, Rock n roll maki(dont know if it's correct) and lastly the Stir Fry noodles. For the ramen we are satisfied with the taste, though the serving is just enough for 1. The Maki taste great, gyoza and the side dish is 5 star for me. Stir Fry noodles also taste good but a little bit saucy.
⭐️Ambiance- You can feel the slight Japanese vibe, maybe they can enhance their interior a little bit more.
⭐️Customer Service- The fact that you have to wait becase its not a fastfood chain, is forgivable( for me).
Commendable staff especially to the server who assist us. You put justice to good customer experience😊
⭐️Value for your Money- If your willing to spend a little more this is for you.
All in all, I will be back to try more of their Ramen, and for the good customer exprience.

Tried their ramen set for only 499, inclusive of rice, 4pcs. of gyoza, tonkatsu ramen and fruits. This set is definitely sulit to goodness and is beaming with flavors. The broth is rich in flavors. The gyoza and rice are just average.

Service: The staffs are attentive and quick to respond.

Ambience: It's just a typical ramen house, nothing fancy. Even the tables and chairs are typical.

Price: Affordable considering that they have sets.

Taisho is a must try ramen restaurant! We've tried Niniku ramen and Chamen ramen and they're so tasty! Niniku is somehow spicy while Chamen is I can say a healthy ramen because it consists a lot of vegtables like cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, corn and a little meat. They also offer set meals, rice meal and kiddie meal and it's very affordable.

Before the year ended, Travel Eat Pinas, TrEaPh, happen to drop by  Taisho Ramen and Teppanyaki House. Taisho has a cozy ambiance with a mix of modern and traditional Japanese restaurant ambiance.
We were able to try the following:Gyoza-  Perfectly seasoned ground pork or beef filling inside a gyoza wrapper and serve with cabbage drizzled with Taisho Ramen and Teppanyaki House special sauce. Karamen Ramen- has fresh noodles with Tonkotsu soup base and topped with Taiwan cabbage, onion, and chashu. This ramen has three spice level that you can choose from- spicy, mild and deadly.
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen- has fresh noodles with collagen-sticky Tonkotsu soup base topped with onion leeks, boiled egg, sesame seeds and chashu.Spareribs Teppanyaki- has spareribs and cabbage cooked in a sweet and spicy sauce.Chicken Teriyaki- has tender and juicy chicken strips with sweet homemade sauce.

Ordered Ninniku ramen and I was completely satisfied with the taste. I would not recommend this for sharing because the serving is just enough for 1 person. I only have one critic for the dish and that it should have at least more soup in it. I enjoyed it too much that I felt the soup is not as much as I expect a ramen should have.

Taisho is one of the few japanese restaurants in SM North Edsa. It's located on the sky walk beside banapple. A lot of restaurants stood in that area before but all of those restaurants did not last! I was joking na may sumpa yang area na yan. There was a korean restaurant there before. Nagka Agave pa nga. But hey look at Taisho and Banapple.

Taisho is famous for their ramen but they also offer different japanese food. They have curry! I had their katsu curry and I liked it. The sauce is spicy and the flavor is not overwhelming. I just find it a bit pricey cos it tastes just a normal curry. You know the instant curry box that you buy at the grocery? Anyway, it was still good. 👌🏼

They have a good quantity of ramen to choose from. The prices are affordable and competitive.

Depending on whether you're a ramen-lover or not, serving size is good for 1-2.

Service is fast since we ate here during the afternoon. Most of the times, the place is full of diners.

We ordered the Ninniku ramen and the flavor was there. The noodles were not soggy and the broth was not overpowering.

They're very accomodating and nice. Kudos to them! 👌👌 The food, I ordered their Miso Ramen. I liked it. The broth's really good. I've passed by Taisho several times but never tried it because I was not a fan of japanese food back then. We decided to have dinner here since my friend craves for curry, while I crave for sushi. To my disappointment, they have limited sushi choices which looked unsatisfying on the menu. I ordered their Karamen Ramen (Php285.00) which came in a big bowl and in a red color based soup. I was scared to try it at first because of the color, I was thinking that it might be too spicy but when mixed, it's not that spicy at all. For their curry, it was okay, nothing special. Overall, if you want affordable ramen, you can go to this place but I do hope they still improve their menu.

One of the best Ramen bowls in Manila, IMO. Marketed as a very casual, Japanese Ramen restaurant and doesn't try to come off as anything authentic. Taste-wise though, their Karamen is one of the best spicy ramen bowls i've ever had. Their regular Tonkotsu has good flavor as well. Other ramen places serve better pork, but in terms of broth, it's hard to beat Taisho.

When you eat in a restaurant for the first time, even if you didn't realize it, you are always looking for that special "something" from your first ever bite. That "something", I recently found out, is actually longing. Longing for you to feel in awe from every single bite or slurp or sip and just can't wait to finish so you can come back, start all over and feel that way again.
With Taisho's bowl of spicy Karamen, I felt exactly that and it was really amazing. From that first slurp, I was already hooked and have never failed to keep coming back. To think that it has already been more than two years now since that first time, it just goes to show how incredible that bowl of ramen is for me and soon I hope for you, too.

Hello there. Been gone for quite awhile again. So, here goes. Me and my "twin" met last night at Trinoma and contemplated if we will eat at Yellow Cab, Tokyo Tokyo or (because I am a proud AlDubnation) McDonalds. So, after much serious deliberation, we went here because I love ramen, my twin loves maki and Maine loves both. (^_^)v

I ate to some ramen houses before and I always order the Chasu set. The first try was so-so and the second one was better (I won't say the stores anymore since I reviewed them here on Zomato before too). Now, Taishi also offers the same Chase style ramen but with more meat (yehey!). But. The sesame seed overpowered the taste of the broth that can bother future customers. (not me though). Try to tone it down a little. Next, the servings quite right or less? I dunno, baka gutom ako? I usually don't finish a bowl kasi nabubusog agad ako sa broth but this one? Ubos. Or masarap talaga? Sulit na din for 300+ pero sana may egg yung Chasu set. Pretty please! Oh! We also ordered maki. I forgot the name argh! But it's their best seller. At wala din akong photos! Sue me, I miss my twin so more kwentuhan kami.

By the way, the place is properly illuminated though I am not sure if sa gabi ganun padin. Probably because the walls were painted white?(White nga ba talaga!) I also like the small tables and how they were neatly arranged, crowded lang for sure during peak hours. The chopsticks were already placed on the table, even their condiments. Spicy lovers? You will love the chili powders na naka-set na din sa table. Mga aswang? You won't stay long kasi may garlic cloves na naka-jar sa table din. (joke 'yun please!) The servers are friendly. Nakabantay sa bawat galaw mo but they don't bother you kahit nag-stay kami ni twin for 2 hours! If I am coming back here, I'd try during peak hours. Let's see if they can still maintain the poise and the grace while under pressure. ^_^v

All in all, a big YEP! And I am so gonna come back.

I ate the Karamen, the soup base and noodles is perfectly cooked. Not too rich, so it wasn't "nakakaumay", and it's not too spicy either.

The gzoya is good too, real meat, unlike other gyozas.

Tonkatsu is delicious, perfecty cooked that they didn't need to provide a dip or something.

Overall, the food and ambiance was good, and the servers was accomodating.

I have all praises for this restaurant. Always pass by it, but never tried it, until it was recommended to me by my good friend, Karl Legaspi. Located on the Sky Garden near The Block, not many people pass this area, and during lunch time, the sun shines directly on it with a glare. I had lunch at 1pm and the place was almost empty. The emptiness created doubts if the food is good.

They offer ramen, teppanyaki, tempura, gyoza, and some Japanese salads, a little something for everyone. Confused on what to order, I got something safe - Chashu Ramen, the basic of ramens. I also ordered their 4-pc pork gyoza.

For people who know me, I am never a fan of chashu. I always donate it to interested friends whenever I ordered one. Taisho's Chashu blowed me away. It was melt-in-your-mouth-tender, like a hot knife through butter. I am glad there was a lot of slices because it is so addicting.

The first thing you check in a ramen is the aroma of the soup, and the ramen I ordered was fragrant. The soup was very tasty as well. I finished the entire bowl.

The pork gyoza is also special, and it is served along with a pile of shredded cabbage with sesame dressing. The dumpling is juicy and has a soupy filling, much like a xiao long pao.

The staffs are great. They greet you in Japanese when they are going to serve you and when they give you the bill. Price is also worth the value, a little cheaper than most ramen houses around.

Definitely a good place to fill up without spending a lot.

If you want good and inexpensive ramen, then Taisho is the place to go. They also serve rice meals so there is something from everyone. I love the karamen!

Update Oct 14, 2017:
Ordered different from my usual Karamen and opted for the original tonkotsu and 8 pcs of gyoza. Tonkotsu ramen is best with freshly crushed garlic which is available in all the tables. The gyoza was a let down as the filling was wrapped too loosely, so it falls apart when dipped in the sauce. Taisho still remains as my go to spot for inexpensive ramen, but service during today’s visit was really bad. Had to keep getting the servers’ attention to clear up the table where they sat me down, to ask for the menu, to get my orders and ask for the bill. I find it odd that they told me to wait when i asked for the menu and then prioritized cleaning the tables when there were no other people going in at the moment.

KARAMEN speaks for itself...as the best seller ramen in the house, my all time favorite. Best tasting food, it's worth the price. As they say, when you come to a place that you are not familiar with & you're searching for a place to eat, always try to dine in with a full house resto. Because that only means that food there is great without thinking of the price. And taisho ramen is one of it.

For a price of 300 PhP, the serving size is just enough. Good savory ramen. The place is nice although it feels awkward to eat while facing the windows and seeing how people look at you while you eat. The crew was kind and very accommodating. Thank you for the experience Taisho!!!

Tried this place during their anniversary. They had a 50% discount on their ramens. The place or setting is small. Its like one move and you will bump someone. The service was slow, had to follow up on our orders. The food was okay. Nothing really special about it. This maybe worth it if the price was a little low. A little pricey for a so so service and taste.

Im not an expert when it comes to japanese food nevertheless, I'd say the ramen were good. I came here during their anniversary when they had a 50% off promo. I didnt like their dumplings, and the regular prices are quite expensive, as usual.

Ordered their Deadly Spicy Karamen Ramen. I liked it! The broth is so tasty and the noodles is soft. And their serving's so big it's good for two. My guy ordered Wafu Chicken Steak (if i'm not mistaken), I wasn't able to taste it bec I was so busy with my Ramen. I like this place! And how they greet their costumers ☺️

😁 love their seafood ramen! :) i like how filling the food is and how flavorful the broth of their ramen is. Their noodles are firm but not too soft, and I've heard it's made fresh everyday! One of the better, yet underrated ramen places!

One of those ramen places you'll go to just because one friend had raved about how good the food was and so we did go and checked it out. Good portion size and reasonably priced. The staff were very gracious and had served us with so much hospitality that I had actually forgotten that we weren't the only customers there. We felt so special and that's what's nice about this place. The ramen selection was quite normal and the taste was okay but nothing special. I'd still go here on a rainy day just so I could get my usual hot ramen fix but if there were other options, I'd probably go somewhere else.

Affordable and tasty ramen. Chashu Ramen's my favorite. Their serving size is quite big (been here like 3 times but still can't finish a bowl of ramen) and the ambiance is nice. What I like about their ramen is the little spiciness. Very affordable and worth it.

I tried almost every ramen in the menu. But Karamen is the best! The price is a bit steep considering the serving. Since the serving is small, I had to order an extra bowl of broth. ??

I've been here twice already. I love their Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen- it's not oily and the soup is very tasty. I don't usually get to finish an entire bowl of ramen but here I finish it to the last drop. And for the price, it's worth it.

The Karamen, deadly spicy is the best. It would be nice if the garlic crusher they provide can actually crush garlic. Overall it is the place to visit if you are looking for a delicious but affordable Ramen.

This is my first time to try Taisho Ramen and definitely will not be the last. Their Hakata Tonkutsu ramen, is worth every peso. I dunno, if I'm just hungry, but this is one of the few ramen that I was able to finish. The soup is rich and tasty. Their ebi fry is also good.

And the bonus? they got really accommodating staff. Keep it up!

Will come here next time with my hubby :)

We ordered Chamen and Karamen plus starters. Their servings is good especially for ramen bowls and their soup base is not that oily as other ramen houses I have tried.

You get bang for the buck for your ramen here. I usually order their lunch set, and for about P200, you get a hearty meal of tonkotsu ramen, onigiri, and iced tea. The tonkotsu is pretty sulit considering the cost of good ramen these days. The broth is thick, rich and "porky" and the noodles is served al dente. The onigiri is a nice filler - two big balls of rice, one with salted fish and the other covered up in spices. I do love coming here for not-so-expensive yet tasty tonkotsu ramen. Plus they've got attentive service. The only downside I can think of is their old interiors -- some chairs are so worn down that you just sink into them, and sometimes the aircon does not work well so the can be a bit too warm and can dampen the enjoyment of slurping steaming hot ramen. Like if you agree!

Taste so good but wont cost you a lot! Their ramen is not oily unlike the other ramen resto then i love the teriyaki chiken too! Oh my i remember the sauce, so yummy. Service quality is outstanding! But to warn you ahead. You have to be early if planning to eat with family on weekends and dinner. So many people!! You wont regret eating there. I swear it's worth your time and money.

After our sunday mass mom and my sis wants to try something different, since the weather is cold and rainy i'm craving for ramen so i decided to have lunch here at Taisho. Located at SM sky garden the interior was so Japanese the staffs and crew are also friendly and accomodating.

I ordered Chashu ramen P310 i was surprised because my food arrived fast the ramen soup was flavorful made of pork broth and the noodles are thin cooked in al dente when i tasted it..

Twas DELICIOUS!

The bowl of ramen is good for 1-2 person so it's good for sharing. Mom and sis ordered Tepanyaki set: Chicken teriyaki P260 and Wafu chicken steak P260 it comes with a free miso soup. I also tried and tasted it also according to them it was good and they are very satisfied on what they ordered. All in all the food is great and yummy. Will surely come back here next time, home of the best ramen. A must try!

We ordered gyoza and onigiri for starters, tonkotsu ramen and karamen as mains and had vanilla and green tea ice cream for desserts. We took just a couple of bites of onigiri and decided it's P90 down the drain. The rest of our orders are good enough. I prefer the spicier karamen over the plain tonkotsu ramen; karamen packed in just enough heat without making you sweat much.

As for the price, it's definitely more affordable than the other well-known ramen places. The serving size is smaller and there's less meat as well. But I'm satisfied with my order; I will not be able to finish it all off if it were any bigger.

The servers are all friendly and attentive. They would greet the customers who come in and out of their restaurant. However, the place is a bit small; I think it can accomodate up to 35 pax only.

Overall, I'm happy with our meal and will be back to try their teppanyaki sets next time.

Since I'm lookong for a new ramen place to eat, I was able to drop by here since this is the first restaturant that will see when you cross the bridgeway from Trinoma. So since I'm hungry, I dont't hesitate to eat here and try something different.

So, I ordered Miso Ramen and as for the taste it was a little bit salty. The saltiness will be stucked in your mouth as if you have eaten a salty instant noodles. But all in all, the ramen was full of flavor and taste.

The ambiance is quiet unlike the shouty guys of the other ramen house that everyone knew (But i like the energy of the staff in that place). The staffs here are very polite and attentive. The service was fast and i have a feeling that I will go back here since the price of the ramen here are a lot affordable than the other ramen house I know.

Friends and I were craving for ramen so I looked for a recommemded Ramen House over here at zomato and found Taisho. Ambience is good, staff were friendly. Serving was good for two (they claimed) but it was actually bitin for me. Or maybe i was just that hungry. Ordered Miso ramen but it wasn't available so I got Takana ramen instead, hence my rating of 4.5. Overall i liked it and will definitely go back

Bang for the buck ramen. I absolutely love their tonkotsu and karamen. This is one ramen place I don't back to every day. The prices are far more affordable than the newer ramen places but the taste does not fall short of the higher end ramen places.

With the recent Ramen craze its getting hard to find a really good ramen place. And while ive tried several ones, Ive yet to find a ramen that would satisfy my cravings without being too overwhelming in flavors and with too many garnishings. Taisho ramen is just that. Thick broth, tender meat and noodles that are firm and tasty. A must try if you are at SM North Edsa

Best tasting ramen for me. The broth made all the difference. Very rich! Ate there thrice. Would have been more if it hadn't been for the long wait. Treated my co workers, my family and relatives from abroad there and they all enjoyed it! My wife loves it!

I did not give a 5 though because of the size of the place. Please get a bigger place so we can bring in more people! Congrats Taisho!

I am loving ramen for the past couple of months really. I try to have a checklist of ramen houses that I can possibly try in the Quezon City or Manila area and ticking them one by one is fun for me.

So far, one of the close malls from my workplace is SM North and luckily, they have a great ramen place at the Sky Garden which is Taisho Ramen. So we opted to try it,of course.

We tried the Chamen Ramen, but I find the vegetable toppings too much so it was just ok for me.

We also had the Karamen, which was spicy and this I loved! I am not normally a fan of spicy foods but I like it here with this ramen. The noodles are firm just the way that I prefer it and the broth was really good for me.

The prices ranges from php270-php360 just like everybody else so that's acceptable.

What sets apart this place from the rest is that their broth are refillable. Yes, that's right, REFILLABLE! So great, I know. Its the first one I've encountered. I had 2 more refills for the Karamen and that made me so filled yet happy. For sure, you will get your money's worth with that.

So far, I've had 2 visits to this place. And I will come back again in the near future.
