Master Garden is a place where families will feel at home and enjoy each other's company with the addition of good service and extra facilities to maximize and savor their dining experience.
What I also love about Master Garden is their breakfast and lunch buffet which is located at the left most section of the restaurant. They have sago't gulaman for the buffet!
* Buffet - 145 pesos per head (food served are what most filipino families have in the morning like tapa, tocino, kesong puti, pandesal ang more)
7am - 10am
Breakfast free for kids 7yrs old and below
*Luch Buffet - 269 pesos per head
For kids 189 pesos
11am - 2:30pm
STEAK NI MASTER
Steak ni Master is a Rib-eye steak with corn and carrot sides. The meat is tender is perfectly paired with steamed rice!
SUGPO SA MAALAT NA DAGAT
Anywhere I eat I always look for shrimp or prawn dishes! Good thing they have the Sugpo sa maalat na dagat with salted egg sauce. My oh my this dish is the best in this post! The prawns are fresh and you can taste it's sweetness with every bite and the salted egg sauce equalizes every taste. I think I ate most of the shrimps!
ADOBONG KAMBING NI MASTER
Never have I ever thought I'll be eating goat meat! Funny story before I share this dish, while taking it's video I took a small part from it to dip in the vinegar then quickly ate it after. I described the taste like the local pares and the meat is tender and very flavorful! My companion told me it was a goat's meat and I was slightly shocked since I know they use goat meat for kilawin; I still liked the taste whatever meat used.
EL KATIPUNERO
You don't need to travel to Tagaytay just to taste the best Bulalo, Master Garden is already serving it here at Tomas Morato! What we love about the dish is how soft and tender the meat is! They quickly fall of from the bone and no hard time chewing it. The soup is also to die for!
CHEF'S DESSERT
I've been in love with pinoy desserts and this dish made me love it more! Chef's dessert is a sticky rice cake with fresh ripe mango topped with vanilla ice cream and mascuvado sugar plated inside shot glasses. Every component is in harmony together and you can taste them individually at the same time.
Last but not the least is the famous leche flan. The sweetness is fine and of course this dessert will not let you down.
OVERALL:
Food - I haven't tasted more from the menu but as per what we had everything tasted good, tho I was not a fan of the Steak ni Master but aside from that good, good, good.
Price - Reasonable for a family size or even just for two people. The buffet price is very good as well.
Serving - They did not withheld good food from us, so the serving is perfect for the price and it is also for sharing, win win!
Service - Master Garden has one of the best service we experienced! They were attentive and very helpful with our needs.
Parking - no problem with the parking, they can accommodate up to 6 cars parked in front of the restaurant.
Ambiance - I know the restaurant name does not sound pinoy but the vibe is welcoming, since us Filipinos are hospitable. You can feel it from every staff and the manager.
Kudos for serving bacon on breakfast buffet. It was something carnivors can't resist. Although they have little selection, their bacon is enough for me to keep on coming back.
I wonder why I've never noticed Master Garden in my own hood until today. Zomato says it'll cost you about a thousand Pesos for two here and they open late in the day. Good news, folks! They now serve buffet breakfast starting at 7am for only P145! Yes, that's right - P290 for two 😊. They have a pretty decent selection of dishes for the price, and everything tastes good. What's different about this place is that the drinks come free with the buffet, unlike other places that will lure you in with low buffet price and then hit you with expensive drinks. They also have a smoking section that looks comfortable enough, and the staff are all courteous and friendly. I would recommend this place to my friends and family
We tried their buffet breakfast. It's very affordable. Nice Filipino comfort food. Staff are accommodating. Worth coming back. Btw, I love the champorado!! 👌
My hubby and I tried this resto as we are staying near the area. Overall, the quality of food, prices, service, and ambiance did not disappoint. In fact, we were impressed! We'll definitely go back and recommend to my family and friends!
Food - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Value for money - 4/5 (if you visit in a group of at least 4)
Was my second time eating here :)
Got the squid/shrimp, fried rice, laing and crispy pata :) The food was very tasty although portion size was a bit small. The wait staff was very attentive and very friendly. The resto is a bit on the pricey side so i suggest you go in a small group rather than dining for two, so you could sample more of their entrees :) its a thumbs up for me :) an above average filipino resto in my honest opinion :)
This is a place to try for some interesting new takes on Filipino food, as well as well as solidly old-fashioned, Tagalog homestyle cooking.
I'd heard of Ernie Chan's fame as successful entrepreneur behind Master Siomai, but was unaware that he had started a Filipino dining venture called Master Garden, first in his hometown of Malabon, and now in the showbiz district of Quezon City. Outside the Quezon City store is a coffee shop, while the inside is a restaurant with a live bar/acoustic setup.
A number of dishes are of Chinese Filipino influence; the restaurant also leverages use of local seafood, which Malabon is known for. So let me point you first to two dishes I think are among their strongest: their sugpo sa maalat na dagat, large prawns in a salted egg coating and a buttery sauce; and their baby squid in olive oil - tender squid cooked in a nutty olive oil with toasted garlic and a splash of wine. They employed a delicate touch on both these dishes; do not let them get cold when they arrive at table!
Of stellar quality also were their binagoongan a la Malabon - an ensalada of grilled eggplant, onions, tomatoes topped with crispy-skinned pork belly, the pork belly skin done crispy just like the Cantonese do with their siu yuk; and a tinapa-accented laing, wrapped in banana leaves. I am not a big laing eater, and I loved this.
Old-fashioned chicken barbecue, beef kaldereta with a cheesy topping, and mixed noodle bam-i strike a chord, just like their binukadkad na tilapia, which is stuffed with mango and tomato, but not butterflied, as usually seen in other restaurants.
I feel that what could make Master Garden jump from very good to really great is a more interesting selection of desserts, but nothing is disappointing here. Their buco pandan and halo halo are good and filling, while their other desserts are fairly ordinary. Their coffees and frappes are of coffee-shop quality; the latter qualify as good dessert.
Almost a 4.5. Almost.
Me an my fiancé where just walking qround tomas morato and he found the look of the place already interesting plus having a copy of a menu outside helped convince him to try it..
We ordered the kalderetang baka ni pepe and binusog na pusit.. He's a very picky eater but he really enjoyed the food and said to me that I should bring my parents here too.
So when a perfect opportunity arrived with my parent anniversary and my mom's birthday, I insisted on going to this place. Arriving there we were greeted by the nicest staff. They answered all my questions politely. Then we decided to order the boodle feast, kalderetang baka ni pepe and binagoongan ala malabon. My parents enjoyed the food and even got a complimentary slice of cake for their anniversary!
The overall experience was great! With the service, the quality of the food and the ambience of the place. I definitely recommend it to every foodies and their family!@

The people behind the very successful food franchise Master Siomai has expanded into the full-service restaurant business. Master Garden serves mainly Filipino dishes--with such amusing names as Tuyo with Love, Putok-Batok, Istapeghi, and Ligaya ni Aguinaldo--with a smattering of familiar Western, Chinese, and Thai dishes. Master Garden's success in its first outlet in Malabon prompted the birth of its second outlet in Quezon City (along Tomas Morato), where I and a dozen other foodies were invited to sample its menu.
If your family is anything like mine, eating out on a Sunday means crispy pata, beef kare-kare, pork or fish sinigang, and mounds of piping hot rice. I eschew these traditional Filipino dishes, and recommend the dishes below which Master Garden does quite well.
Sugpo sa Maalat na Dagat - Succulent tiger prawns doused with spicy salted egg sauce. That first taste of its lush sauce will have everyone on your table calling dibs. The texture could be better with the addition of one or two regular egg yolks in the sauce, and maybe a little less heat. Nevertheless, Master Garden's version of this dish is very good, and is a must-try.
Baby Squid in Olive Oil - It is a deceptively simple dish made by sauteeing the tender flesh of young squid in olive oil and garlic, but it is not short on flavor. This dish demands a lot of extra rice, and will surely wreck someone's strict low-carb diet.
Chicken BBQ - I know. I prefaced my list of recommended dishes with that caveat on traditional Filipino dishes. But Master Garden's version is delicious and flavorful, and can hold its own against Manila's most popular chicken barbecue restaurant.
Binagoongan a la Malabon - Half ensaladang talong, half crispy bagnet. It is my kind of salad! Adobong Puso ng Saging - Another veggie dish that I enjoyed a lot. It strikes the near-perfect balance between sweet and sour and savory-garlicky goodness. It makes a great complement to Master Garden's Putok-Batok crispy pata or any of its meaty entrees.
Master Garden deserves to be bookmarked on your Zomato app. Thank you, Master Garden, for the sumptuous spread!

Was invited over for dinner here a few weeks ago and what I remember about Master Garden are the beatifully presented dishes, the relaxed ambience, and of course, the delicious food.
Here's what we've tried:
Sugpo sa Maalat na Dagat - Head on shrimp wth salted egg sauce; The shrimp was cooked perfectly and since it was fried in the shell, you can actually eat the whole thing. I really liked the idea of a salted egg sauce but I thought their version lacks richness. To be honest, I've had better.
Baby Squid in Olive Oil - Squids sautéed in garlic, olive oil, and bay leaf. OMG, it was so damn good. It's such a simple yet delicious dish and there's really not much more to say about it but go out and try it when you visit Master Garden.
Binukadkad na Tilapia- whole Tilapia fish, fried hard and served with diced onions, tomatoes, and cucumber. I thought the presentation was really nice but since the bone was still intact, we had a difficulty eating it.
Laing - I admit, I'm not a big vegetable eater but I was really shocked how much I liked this dish. It was cooked to perfection and had a nice texture without being too mushy. I can tell that the chef put a lot of care and loving into this dish.
Binagoongan ala Malabon - Grilled eggplant topped with bagoong, tomatoes, and onions served with crispy, golden-brown Pork Belly. Everyone at the table was really happy with this dish. The combination of the eggplant, sliced onions, and tomatoes was a great palate cleanser.
Out of the seven desserts we've tried, the Halo-halo and Buko Pandan were tops in my book. What I like about Master Garden is that it has a feel and food that is entirely unto its own and not just another Filipino restaurant copycat.
Overall, amazing Filipino comfort dishes for a fraction of the price of a prix-fixe meal at any other restaurant. Master Garden is an experience, for sure - one every single one of you should definitely have.
Many thanks to Master Garden for hosting my visit.

When I first came across Master Garden, I thought it was either a Chinese restaurant, or a vegetarian restaurant. It is actually a Filipino restaurant, with the same owner as Master Siomai, thus the name "Master". This is their 2nd branch after their successful first in Malabon. For my first visit, I was invited by the owners to try their dishes. It was so good that I invited my family to try it as well. We are really satisfied with the food and it is inexpensive too.
Here are some of the dishes we tried:
- Baby Squid in Olive Oil - the best dish of the house! Tiny tender squid swimming in olive oil. Lightly salted and fun to munch on.
- Bagnet Salad - pork belly is really crispy and sitting on top of Filipino salad with bagoong sauce. We did not know at first, but it is more delicious if you toss everything together.
- Kaldereta na Baka ni Pepe - the beef was very tender. The sauce was cheesy and with lots of liver. A perfect kaldereta!
- Adobong Kambing - goat spareribs seasoned and fried. It's like eating a tender jerky. So good.
- Pork Sisig - I rarely find a restaurant that serves good sisig to my liking. At Master Garden, their sisig is crunchy and well seasoned. The egg really balanced the dish.
- Sinigang na Baboy - I am never a fan of sour foods, but their version is not as sour yet it makes me increase my appetite. The pork is also soft and easy to chew.
- Binukadkad na Tilapia - presentation is neat but I find it difficult to eat. The vegetable stuffing is on top of the scalloped fish. It is delicious though.
- Bangus Belly ala Pobre - the fish is boneless and fried and sauced then topped with onions. An equally good dish.
- Laing - very good presentation and a large slab of this dish made with taro leaves. Balance of flavor and taste.
- Ginisang Puso ng Saging - something unique for Filipino restaurants, and a great dish for banana heart-lovers.
- Chicken BBQ - a must try! Delicious and flavorful.
They also have good desserts. We tried Halo-Halo, Suman at Latik, Buko Pandan, and Leche Flan. All made with traditional Filipino recipes.
Try Master Garden. It's classic Filipino comfort food and satisfaction is guaranteed.
They have such a relaxing ambiance, live acoustic bands and free drinks for women every thursday. Want to know more about master garden? Check out my review

*Update*
Master Garden, a Filipino restuarant?!?!?! That's right. It was named after Master Siomai after its success. (same owner) It started the concept in Malabon and now this is their second branch along Tomas Morato, just right across Il Terrazo.
Browsing through the menu, most of their items are Filipino, but some items were 'Filipinized dishes' like beef & broccoli and bbq pork ribs.
The manager was helpful in giving us suggestions on what to order. The main concept of them is similar to the other bar & grill concepts from the early 2000's which they add fusion to their menu items.
Baked Oysters. Oysters baked with a bechamel topped with bacon rashers. The oysters are fresh but the bechamel is a bit lacking in richness. It was watery when I ate it. The bacon didn't amp it up, but it confused my palette on what is the highlight of the dish.
Adobong Puso ng Saging. The banana heart was soft and tender. It was simmered that it absorbed the sauce. Slightly sweet-savory, garlicky and a balance of sourness from the vinegar. A perfect vegetable dish to be eaten with rice.
Sinigang na Bangus. A classic soup dish that used guava and pineapple to sour the dish. I like the perfect fruity sourness from the guava with a hint of sweetness from the pineapple. It may not be as sour as the one made from tamarind, but it gives you a new depth of flavor to this dish.
Fried Adobong Kambing. The goat was perfectly cooked as adobo before frying. It has the perfect tenderness that still has a soft bite in it. It is their version of kripy beef tadjang, but more tender and flavorful.
Baby Squid in Olive Oil. It was sauteed, tender, soft baby squid in olive oil topped with lots of fried garlic. It was simple and flavorful. It's the perfect pica-pica for start. Similar to the Spanish tapas. Yummy!
Binagoongan Malabon Style. It is straight to the point deconstructed ensaladang talong topped with cristpy bagnet. The flavors are what they literally are, boiled eggplant, sauteed bagoong, fried bagnet, tomato, and onion. It is a classical Filipino dish that we have grown to love. Especially to the bagoong lovers out there!
Master Garden is another Filipino Grill restaurant along Tomas Morato. The name may sound like a Chinese resturant, but it is a straight to the point Filipino cuisine that serves the classic.

I was expecting good service, good and great ambiance, excellent food taste and total entertainment because of the live acoustic band and Master Garden Nailed it. It was really a nice experience visiting this resto which serves Filipino Cuisine, i find the place relaxing with its dim lighting. My Fam was satisfied with the Package 1 which is good for 10-12 pax. I will definitely come back. They also have a Cafe right outside which is open for smokers. Oh plus Shirley Fuentes singing makes the night more lovely with that Valentines kick.
I saw this resto at zomato,we give it a try,we are a group of 10 we are lucky we arrive early so theres not alot of person as of that time but when we are living theres so much dining in.At first impresion we got in the place is good clean, but when we saw the menu price compare to zomato price they are not the same zomato price is cheaper about 30pesos to 60pesos compare their in house menu.but the server is nice enough to lets us know they have group meal for 3470pesos you get 2order sugpo sa maalat na dagat, 2 sisig, 2 bam i, 2sinigang na baboy 2 chopsuey, 2 MG fried chicken, 10 rice, 10 buko pandan and 2 beef kare kare.you can save around 900 if you choose it.the food was great specialy the sugpo sa maalat na dagat and bam i noodles,i love their sagot gulaman which cost only 40pesos.we just dont like the chopsuey coz not much vegetable.service is great and warming hope they can maintain it overall we will be going back again.
My first time here at Master Garden with my daughter and wow, food was really good. We ordered sinigang sa bayabas na bangus belly, baby squid in olive oil w/ garlic, and bbq. No disappointments on our part. Service was good too. I hope it stays that way.
