This isn’t our first time dropping by for some midnight snacks at Korean J Grill. They’re open ’til 3AM, and they do serve some booze to go with a plate or two of Sampgyupsal. And they serve plenty enough and a variety of sidedishes; And they are refillable!
In just a week, we've been to two different Korean Restaurants. And I guess we were here to redeem our last “Korean food-venture”. We ordered too many carbos and too little protein in our meal that in the end, it was filling BUT not really fulfilling at that moment. Our conclusion, we needed at least a plate of Samgyupsal - the plate which we kind of backed off from at the other resto (we regret not ordering one!:( ) - and we're getting it here!
1. Samgyupsal - If you’re not so much into unli-meat but you still dig a plate or two of it, then I guess this place is enough to satisfy your meat-craving. Although I felt that our serving was more of fats than the meat itself, which was a little bit disappointing (fortunately, it was a night time so we didn’t dwell on it as much). The Samgyupsal was served with eggs on the side, and a little piece of squash - that too was quite disappointing. We didn’t know that a grilled thin squash would taste so good! Too bad I wasn’t able to ask if the squash was unli… or not?
2. Haemultang/Seafood Soup - Honestly, I wouldn’t have mind the soup served upon ordering had I known this Seafood Soup would taste sooo good! What I liked about it was that it didn’t have the usual fishy taste nor smell. It’s two thumbs-up for me!
Not really into unli-meat so single orders here are just quite right. Price, service, and location are okay. Side dishes could use improvement though. Fish cakes and garlic spinach maybe?
Our go-to korean resto in tomas morato! Even though the unlimited samgyupsal restaurants are growing around the metro, this place still holds the best meat experience even if thy do not offer unlimited meats. I cannot count how many times i still choose this place over the other unli meat places.
It has always been a tradition to eat at Korean J every Friday night after work. I always order the grilled beef. That would be enough for me. The soup that comes with it is really good, plus. Unlimited banchan! Although most of the staff were pleasant, the lady on the heavy side will always be giving us that tired and sungit service.

we usually eat there 11pm onwards. 1hr drive from our place is worth it especially if we're craving for Korean Food. The side dishes are all OK. super love their kimchi, soup, and their egg. ❤️ I love the idea that they offer ala carte menu. (we're after the taste and not the volume) Their wagyu beef is one of our favorite as well as their japchae. We've been here countless times and we're going back there again and again. Price worthy👍
Korean Restaurants are a hit nowadays. With the booming K-pop culture in the Philippines now, it’s not a new thing that we become interested not only with Koreanovelas and Korean novelty items but also the Food this country can influence. There was one restaurant in mind when we set out our hunt in QC area. Unfortunately, we were 16th in line! No way were gonna wait that long. So we decided to just go for the next available restaurant nearby. Then we came across this one as we are lucky enough to get the last parking spot available.
Was here for a first date and was also my first time trying out korean barbecue. We ordered beef and pork and I gotta admit that I got full pretty quickly from all the potato side dish that I've eaten 😂 It was an overall great experience for a first timer and I'll definitely be coming back for more.
Ambiance is nice and relaxing because there’s no loud kpop songs compared to other korean restaurants. The server will also help you cook your food if it’s your first time which is great. Cleanliness 8/10. Food is fine. I liked their kimbab so i’ll give it a 7/10. Overall, we had a good time.

Great Food & Service! We ordered the pork shoulder, beef ribs, thin sliced beef samgyupsal, galbi, kimchi rice, kimbap & it was all soo good! It's not unli & sometimes that's better because the cuts of meat are of better quality. The server was super kind & even grilled the meat for us! Granted, it was off-peak (around 2 or 3pm) but they had very good service! The unli egg was the best part, as well as the kimchi! We planned to have the shabu shabu as well but after the bbq, we were too full & they were really nice abouy letting us cancel it. Ambiance is ok, the tables were a little oily & the gas tank (?) under the table kind of annoying but all in all, good experience!
Perfect place for late night ssamgyupsal cravings. I love their side dishes, and most especially, their kimchi jiggae. It became one of my favorite korean dishes, ever since I've tried theirs.
It was a packed house when we entered, and luckily there was a still a seat for three available when we came in before the usual dinner time. My friend brought me here. She claims, Korean food here is of good value, not your usual barbecue stop.

We had Galbi Sal and Dweji Galbi for grilled meats, both marinated in homemade sauces. These add ons were unusually good, boosting the flavor of our beef and pork. It had a welcome combination of savory goodness and sweetness. Because of the sugar, however, it does burn pretty fast.
My friends and I also got Bibimbap and Chap Jae to add. This was on top of their barrage of unlimited sides. It was a hefty and delicious meal worth going back to. Have you tried it here yet?
Had dinner the other night in this place with my girl . And I must say it did not dissapoint. Serving was awesome and food tase great. Samgyupsal taste delicious! Spicy ramen is not that much spicy but theirs a kick into it. Almost a 5 star but service needs to be more friendly and smile a lot especially when handling customers. Overall its great! Would we go back? Definitely! 👌
I believe it was awesome! I spent a total of 800 pesos for the three of us and we dint even finish it. Hashtag sulit! You wont regret if you'll order a marinated pork belly. The bellies may be few(though just right for us and it's approx 300 only) but all the side dishes were a lot and all amazing.
This is my third time here and I'm glad we tried the sweet and spicy chicken. The flavors are good and addictive for real but it needs more crunch.
We also had the ramen kimbab. Well, it matches our food but I wish they could make their own noodles for it tastes like the ordinary one from the supermarket. We'll still go back anyways! :)
You get a win on the unlimited and delicious side dishes. However could improve on the samgyupsal. Overall it was good tho, I would still recommend.

I've been to a lot of Korean restaurants in Ortigas so when a friend invited me to eat here I have a huge comparison list. Most of the time my comparison point is their jiggae, so yes I ordered their Kimchi Jiggae which is nice but their tofu is not silken so that's the downpoint but suddenly it was overcome by their unlimited fried egg.

Went to Korean J Grill for an after party eat. I order a Fried Chicken Bowl with Chili Sauce for Php120.00 and add egg for Php20.00, Fried Kimchi for Php15.00 and Chicken Soup for Php15.00.
I am not a fan of spicy food but this fried chicken paired with egg and kimchi tastes really good and appetizing. And I finished all of it.

One of the highly recommended Korean restaurant in Tomas Morato/ Timog area
The place is nice and clean. It has a 2nd floor and can accommodate big groups. We went here around 2pm for late lunch and luckily there were few available tables. Unlike other korean restaurants where in you have to order at least 2 servings for the grilling, they do not have any minimum order for the korean bbq. Also, they have free eggs on the side! That's my favorite side dish. You get 200g of samgyupsal/pork belly for 300php. Not bad.
Service may take some time if you are seated on the 2nd floor.
Big serving of Japchae but for the marinated pork, I think it was a bit overpriced for a small number of pieces. I find also the price of the beef overpriced too.
Good thing was they can cook the meats infront of you. 😉

Best korean grill ever! Samgyeopsal and the thin sliced beef is really great. Though waiting time is somehow long, but it's worth it! Will definitely come back.

My friends and I went here because we were craving for some Korean food. We only ordered samgyeopsal, bibimbap, and galbi sal plus rice but we were really full. The marinated meat was really tasty without it being too salty.
You may opt to grill the food for yourself but as for us, we were already very tired at the time and so we ask one of the crew to cook it for us which he gladly did :) Also, like in a true Korean restaurant, there were a lot of side dishes (hooray!) and they were all very flavorful.
We split the bill into 4 and we only had to pay 300 each which I think is very reasonable.

We ate here 2 weeks ago. I must say that this is one of the best korean restaurant I tried so far! So delicious and affordable!
We tried their marinated pork belly and it taste so good! They cooked it in front of us but still our table is smokeless! They also put some egg while grilling the pork. It is free when you buy grilled meat. A plus point for that! 350php for 1 order of pork belly. We ordered 2. Their bibimbap dolsot (hotpot) taste so good!! I love it. But i think this meal is good for 2, it's too big I only ate half of it.
The staff are very nice and approachable. Thumbs up!
Dined here once with my mom. Their food is good but a little bit expensive. Pero legit yung wagyu nila and ang daming side dish so nakakatuwa :)
There are a lot of Korean restos around Tomas Morato, and I can vouch that Korean J Grill is the cheapest among them. Not the best but the quality of their food is good enough for the price.
If you're in the area and are looking for a quick Korean fix, then this is the place to be.
A bit of a heads up tho, during the time we went there, you could barely feel the air-conditioning. I'm not sure if that's how it normally is since I've only been there once. They do have a lot of fans so no need to worry about smelling like BBQ smoke afterwards.
We ordered the Herb Samgyupsal, Beef Kimbap, and Bibimbap. They were all up to par in terms of taste, quality of ingredients could have been a bit better, but overall it's a bang for your buck!
The place is wonderful, it feels like we were in korea. Even the staffs are somehow trying their best to talk the korean language they are also attentive towards the customers and the graffiti's on the wall brings up great ambiance in the place. The food is superrrr delicious, their meat is thick and juicy, I also like the way the vegetables are served it was all fresh looking even the side dishes is great in and out. We only spend 800 pesos, me and my boyfriend is very full, your money is so worth it here. I will definitely rate this place a plus plus five!!! Ohhh before I forgot theyre also selling other stuffs such as ice cream etc enjoy!!!
We were badly craving for some Korean food so my friends and I decided to try out Korean J Grill found in Tomas Morato.
I was immediately impressed upon arrival because the servers were very accommodating.
We were a bit confused on which meal to order because we wanted something to share but it was stated that some meals were only good for 1 or 2 pax while we were 4. Anyway, two of my friends got the bibimbap, one got the gyudon, and I ordered the Dduk Bulgogi. We also got two orders of their dweji galbi thinking that it won't be enough for four of us. However, when the food came, it was actually a lot and were fit for sharing. My friends super loved the bibimbap and I enjoyed the bulgogi which came with a bowl of rice. The pork belly was cooked by one of the servers and it came out deliciously. The restaurant was very generous with the appetizers, too. No words on how happy I was with the service of the place. Will definitely be back!

Good if you're on a budget, unli side dishes and fresh meat cooked while you dine. Friendly servers and the owner is accommodating too. G2 and G7 is the best pair of meat choice for me. KIMCHI!!! Is so good!!!

Tried this place for the first time. There was a queue and we had to wait around 20 minutes. The menu is your typical korean with some japanese dishes. Although I felt it was limited because it didnt have some of the popular korean dishes like samgyetang or kimchi pancake. We order the beef (P450) for grilling and pork kimchi soup (P350). We were underwhelmed by the side dishes which we thought were cheap (just kimchi, cucumber, potato, soup, pickled radish, lettuce salad) not like in some korean restaurants which serve substantial side dishes like oden (fish cake), spicy fermented bean soup in dolsot, egg in dolsot, etc. The food came quite fast which we were happy about. We wanted the marinated beef which turned out to be good. The pork kimchi soup however was too salty for us and the portion quite small to justify a P350 price tag. We were expecting more because we saw the average review in online as 4.6 out of 5. We ended up not convinced with that rating. I suggest they improve the side dishes they serve or reduce the pricing because the price is too high with those kind of side dishes being served. Oh and the place was quite hot too but we were seated near the door so may be we didn't get the cooler air.
One day, I craved kimchi and korean food so badly. I think it was a stressful day and I wanted some Asian comfort food. I drove around Tomas Morato and found a lot of Korean restaurants, sadly none of those have parking available. Lo and behold! Korean J Grill was there with a miraculous parking spot waiting. It wasn’t exactly in front of the restaurant, but it was close enough and that’s good enough for me!
They used to carry The Grill by Gu-i before. Now they're known as Korean J Grill. They have the same set of menu, as far as I remember.

On my most recent visit, I got the Dolsot Bibimbap. Served in a hot stone bowl, the usuals in a bap were there. It was a huge serving also! May be shared by two. Meal also came with the side dishes - kimchi, baby potatoes, seaweeds, and sprouts.

Hmmmm hindi ko na maibang kung ilang beses ako nagpunta dito. Sobrang affordable nung food nila at higit sa lahat may choices ka for the flavor. I also love their side dishes. Most of korean resto require you to order min. of two meat but in Korean J Grill you can order just one if you're in a tight budget. Their meat dishes also comes with egg and squash. My fav part.
We went here after our shift, (w/c was midnight). It's really a plus for restos to be opened at midnight hours. Me and my colleagues were craving for a hot bowl of ramen. Luckily, we found this resto while browsing Zomato. I tried the Ramen Kimbab (spicy) which I think is very affordable for its price. Since it's a Korean resto and not Jap, I don't think ramen is their specialty. It tastes more like the tasty and very addicting kind of instant noodles, far from the ramen kind of taste, but it was okay since I liked the spicy soup. Plus, that order includes 5pcs of Kimbab. I have to admit, that single order was too heavy for me and it only costs P200! We also ordered the marinated pork belly (bbq). They're very good! The bbq, the marinade.. The kimchi was a little bit too spicy for my taste, though. Their complementary soup was kinda different, but in a good way. I'm not usually a fan of korean restos so Idk if that's the equivalent of the Japanese miso soup. But it's good.

I've tried many lol .. ordered herb pork .. i get used in ordering the simplest pork/beef when it comes to samgyumpsal .. and its a two thumbs up .. their jjampong spicy that is not burning on tongue.. they have ice cream corner with diff variety .. I'm not impressed with the side dish but everything is yummy .. also ordered for egg soup cause i didn't expect they have egg side dish that cooked together with the samgyupsal lol it's a little burned which is weird because i thought stoneware is a non stick bowl.. lol anyways it's highly recommended

The third stop on our Zomato foodie meet-up is Korean J Grill. The food was...ok. We started the meal with a serving of grilled mackerel, which was fresh and perfectly cooked. I only wish there was more of it. I'm not sure if all the foodies had an adequate tasting portion of this dish. The chap chae was a bit bland, and this is usually a sweet-tasting noodle dish. The grilled meat was...ok, I guess. It could use some more seasoning or a stronger flavored marinade before it hits the grill.
During Zomato events, I don't typically rate restaurants on customer service, and prefer to visit an establishment a second or a third time and see how waitstaff normally serve walk-in customers. Uhmm...maybe the waitstaff are new, or felt very nervous that day. I just feel that anyone that comes through the door of a casual dining restaurant--unless said person works there--should always be greeted, seated, and handed a menu.

This restaurants not so crowded, but the food is good, the pork marinated taste awesome.. N the atmosphe really nice since it is very quiet place, you can talk comfortably while eating..
Grill Bistro "The Gu-i" is one of my favorite Korean restaurants at Tomas Morato. I wish they have more side dishes to choose from, though. I also miss their unlimited chapchae, I really hope they can bring that back.
Tips:
- Aside from the usual order of pork samgyupsal, you should definitely also try Galbi Sal (beef ribs, Php 450), Yang Nyeom Moksal (marinated thin sliced pork shoulder steak, Php 700), and the Pork Kimchi Soup (Php 350). These are the dishes that I come back for!
- As much as possible, don't get a table on the 2nd floor. It's difficult to call a server from there...
Kinda pricey but definitely worth every penny. The employees and their manager (probably the owner) was very accommodating. Even their rice dishes tasted so good. Best samgyeopsal I had, so far. :)

A great place for late night cravings! While their banchan might not be the most delicious... Their herbed samgyupsal is definitely worth the go 350 pesos may be a bit expensive for pork but the taste made it worth every penny. It was a unique experience also to have scrambled eggs cooking at the side of the grill. I am excited to go back to try their shabu shabu!!!
The foods were good. Feels like you really are in Korea, the taste is authentic. A must try recommendation. Though wish they had dokbuki on the menu.
open from 10am to 7am, this korean restaurant has been the preference of night owls who wants quality food in super readonable price. For just 300php, you can have their marinated pork belly with free refillable side dishes that includes kimchi, macaroni salad, romaine lettuce with sesame vinaigrette and miso soup among others. One thing i love here is how hands-on the Thai owners are, and how accessible their service crew are for they are checking your needs every now and then.
Grill bistro "the-gui" is a Korean restaurant located at Tomas Morato. Gui means grill in english so expect a lot of grilled dishes. What we ordered was the Yummy pork bellies for only 300.00. Along side with the unlimited chapchae, macaroni, lettuce, cabbage, mushrooms!!! Budget-friendly and Yummy!!! This resto is a perfect place for the night owls like us as well as of course the K-pops. We got to avail their free Home-made leche flan plus korean ice cream by uploading a food photo and following their IG account. I honestly don't love Korean food but 'Gui' changed my preference. :)
The food is good! Yummy grilled meat, nice ambiance, friendly staff! Another good news for night owls, they are open til 7am. It's not your usual post-inuman place but it can definitely satisfy that late night craving for Korean food!
