Artsy and relaxed atmosphere, delicious coffee, comfortable seating, and excellent, friendly service. This was one of the first places my local friends brought me when I moved to the Manila area a week and a half ago. Put Ella and the Blackbird on your shortlist of places to relax with a friend or three.
aesthetic ambiance, delicious food, amazing staff and owner, would definitely recommend! 10/10!
Sarap ng food nyo appreciated sobra
Ambience solemn / relaxing nakakahiyang mag-ingay.
Presentation ng food looks really yummy.
Staff / waitress friendly.
It is a great hideout while you have perfect coffee moments & carbo-loading pasta ( their salmon pasta is so heavenly!) artworks are gathered like mural walls. Even if the tables are close to each other, there is still privacy. So natural to see a lot of wood in the interiors, it brings you close to nature. So artsy..yet you experience gastronomic pleasures. ideal for small chats & casual meetings, staffs are cordial ☕️🍰🍝
Honestly the best! The perfect place to chill and eat great food.
Great food! Great ambience! Great service! A must to try everything on their menu!
Great ambiance, exceptional list of menu, a cozy place to relax and unwind! Indeed a great place to be recommended to others. Good job!
My daughter loves the pasta here. We love the ambience and relaxing feel. A wonderful place to dine with love ones.

Great choice for me and my childhood friend to hang out.
Best coffee I've found so far in the Philippines, with a friendly owner and outgoing baristas who go the extra mile to please the well-meaning but sometimes accidentally high-maintenance customer like myself.
We love the Frozen Brazo
Hands down. Craft serves the BEST coffee in Katipunan! Great place, friendly owner, cool baristas, and kickass coffee! Can't wait for their regional blends. Will drop by regularly.
Everything is so perfect; The food, the ambiance, the staff.. :) thumbs up..
Great service, great staff and yummy food! :)
You guys are doing things right
Ella and the Blackbird used to be Craft Katipunan however I am really happy that the owner has decided to go on a different direction 'coz Craft itself has been pretty bad and I always have a bad experience whenever I visit their HQ or their Podium branch.
I frequently order their beverages. So, this time, let me highlight how happy I am with their Ham and Cheese Sandwich.
I am happy that they use Sourdough Bread 'coz I really find it more class when it comes to sandwiches comparing to those who use the common white bread aka Gardenia. Also, the cheese is pretty generous and the ham is quite thick. Overall the taste is good -- not oily at all, the bread is crunchy but not burnt and not to mention the chips are also good.
The ambiance never fails to be the same and I am happy that they keep the creative vibe here.
Some items were not available. Would have loved to try the skirt steak burger and baked salmon. We got truffle pasta and baked taco rice instead. It was good
A hidden gem in Katipunan. Ambience was relaxing but tends to be noisy when college students are around. Food was up to par, a bit pricy but still worth it. Will definitely come back.
A Gem of a Place... It was a real treat from their main course up to desserts and their drinks everything was a treat. We ordered truffle pasta, truffle burger it was delicious, pasta was paired with a scrumptious garlic bread it was ahmazingly delicious. For dessert we ordered choco lava, frozen brazo and french toast it was yummy i cannot pick my favorite I love it all! 💕❤️🤩
The place was an ideal spot if you want to enjoy good food with good company. They have a cute spot if you want to enjoy your meal out in the open. They also promote environmental awareness and support the use of reusable straws and reusable keepcups.
I love the place and ambiance. It’s so relaxing and the foods are delicious. I love their truffle pasta. 😋Service is great and will definitely visit them again soon.
The salvaged wood boards, high stools, burlap cushions - and that beautiful wall. It's still all there. I’m of the neighbourhood, and this venue is still a singular champion of single origin coffee.
I brought a couple of close friends here, and they ordered a latte and an affogato, both done beautifully. No one minded that there was more ice cream than coffee in the affogato. They ordered the classic frozen brazo and liked it too.
My Ethiopian Yirgacheffe came in their signature carafe. Hazelnut and chocolate top notes, followed by blueberry, followed by citrusiness; a joy to drink.
The food looks okay, but I’m perfectly happy ordering from the drinks menu.
Worth a stop anytime, parking permitting!
Have always been curious about Craft Coffee Revolution but only got to visit recently when they already changed their business name. Hubby and I got served really good black coffee -- I ordered hand-pressed Costa Rica and delicious frozen brazo de mercedes. The coziness of the place did a lot for our quick afternoon coffee date. Going back soon to try other coffee variant and dishes.
A bit pricey but who cares? Foods, coffee, ambiance, music are all worth it. I would rather not to use my perks to get a discount but I will surely recommend place to everyone. Cheers to all the staff especially to the owners.
My friends and I love hanging out at Ella. I always get their truffle pasta and iced mocha. I also recommend their salisbury steak and adobo pasta. My boyfriend who knows his coffee always gets his beans from Ella. You won't go wrong with their coffee choices. It's a good place to chill whether you're alone or with company. The staff is nice and accommodating and I've seen the owners come by talking with customers every now and then.
I’m so happy we tried this cafe. I was skeptical at first kasi parang ang kaunti ng servings sa photos but this place exceeded my expectations. Food was great! Sulit sa bayad. We had Bacon and Mushroom pasta and also BLT sandwich. So delicious!!! Try niyo din!
One of the best coffee dates I had with my girlfriend 🙂 Naka two cups siya ng Latte. Lol.
Balik kami ulit!
Ella and the Blackbird is our favorite shop in the building. It's a dope spot to grab a coffee and have meetings. The team is here two to three times a week! 💣
Their iced latte is really good. And I love that they use metal straws. Hope they would add a soy milk alternative for lactose-intolerant folks who would love to try their coffee.
My friends and I used to visit this establishment during lunch. I tried their Salisbury Steak. It is homemade and 100 percent pure beef. The patty is tender however it was a bit salty.
I live in Capitol Hills in Matandang Balara very near Katipunan yet, I have only reviewed three restaurants in Loyola Heights. Why? It's not as if there's a drought of eating places in Katipunan, quite the opposite. It's because of the traffic, nothing but.
So, when PAGASA decided to call off classes one lunch time, I rushed to Katipunan, to Ella and the Blackbird in particular. Disappointed, I wasn't. Parking, in spite of the suspension of classes, was the disappoinment. Good thing, I was with my loyal driver.
Waze wasn't in the mood to cooperate that day so it took us a longer time to reach the restaurant. Finally, after a decade a half, found the place, entered, got amazed at the interiors before ordering for iced mocha (against the doctor's order!) and Tuna Pesto.
While waiting for my food, I let my eyes wander. Impressed at the not-so-bright lights, an artsy wall of drawings and illustrations and most of all, the heavy wood tables.
Everything in that room appealed to me. Food included. The bread was soft, thickly-sliced and I could taste (and smell) the real butter used in baking it. Generous was the amount if tuna pesto though I wasn't certain if fresh tuna was used but it worked for me. Fresh or canned, it didn't matter. Why? It just didn't (only for that moment). And that goes for the Iced Mocha. It was deliciously bitter, not sweet at all.
Will be back? Definitely. But I hope that I don't need to wait for another PAGASA's directive...
Come here on rainy, quiet days.
The food is nothing off the charts for their prices, but you don't come here for that.
You come here for the ambience of a cozy cafe on a rainy day.
P.S. The coffee is good though. Come for the coffee.
This is my go to place!! The servers are very polite and they serve food fast here. The price is somehow in the middle, not cheap but not expensive. Its very reasonable!!! Also the restroom is very clean
THE WHY
Ella and the Blackbird is the former Craft Coffee Revolution’s (Esteban St. Branch). They just changed the name, but they maintained the same interior and of course quality of coffee is still the same. The only major change has been more savory items on the menu.
These folks started really the ‘coffee revolution’ as early as 2012. When it was impossible to find slow brew or an espresso that could highlight a coffee’s origin notes.
THE VIBE
Distressed wood boards, industrial stools, burlap cushions, Edison lights, and hand painted art gives the place an interesting character.
WHAT TO GET
Their coffee is dark roasted which yielded better flavor and lessens the acidity compound. We recommend trying their cappuccino, its served at just the right temperature is creamy and strong.
#FatGirlsDayOut
Ella and the Blackbird is the former Craft Coffee Revolution’s (Esteban St. Branch). They just changed the name, but they maintained the same interior and of course quality of coffee is still the same. The only major change has been more savory items on the menu. From coffee shops sprouting everywhere, distinguishing between quick-handy coffee and the fine brew has become a challenge. Most of us have developed a certain resistance to a high-quality roast, having been accustomed to the crappy ‘designer’ and ‘hand-crafted’ kuno kind that promises to give you a useless paper organizer as long as you get 10-15 stickers from them.
Had a great time here with my girlfriend. We ordered their specialty salad, salisbury steak, and some pasta -- all decent and maybe even finger-kissin' good. The place is also perfect for students cramming for their exams and yuppies who draw plans on their next trip (and of course don't push through with it in the end).
their beans are just great, they probably made me the best latte i've ever had. kinda wish the business hours were longer though, everything would've been perfect.
Still my favorite place to get coffee along Katipunan. The truffle omelette, the adobo pasta, and the baked chicken rice are the dishes I like getting. My little sister likes to order the truffle pasta with a side of bacon. Also, their frozen brazo dessert is divine.
Tucked away from the busy Katipunan Ave is a café that screams silence and serenity. Stepping into that establishment you immediately notice how calm it is. This is a plus for those who want get a dose of quiet time while enjoying their food. We were not that hungry so we just ordered some sandwiches without any of their beverage so this rating is incomplete and deserves another visit to get a clear judgement of their menu.
I got the Honey mustard Chicken sandwich for something with protein. The sandwich had a modest amount of ingredients. It was tasty without being overpowered by the sauce. The hashbrown is only what I got to taste from my gf's order and it's a notch above those breakfast hashbrowns from a popular fastfood chain. Nothing beats fresh from the kitchen hashbrowns :)
Definitely going back here to have some peace and quiet while enjoying their coffee and one of their mains.
My favorite coffee shop in Katipunan! Their cappuccino and americano are excellent drinks, and fairly priced compared to their competitors. It's quiet enough to study but you can step out and talk with your friends there. Sockets available.
The gambas pasta is expensive so it's reserved for splurges or days when the stress is just too much. But always worth the wait! Juicy Lucy is also good.
I can't say how much I love this place, and it was definitely a great companion for my four years in college.
My friend and I went here to get a cup of good coffee after we ate at La Creperie. The place is really cool although the seating capacity can accomodate only few people and we're lucky to still found a table for two. I ordered Iced Americano and I finished it right away.
Food: 5.0
Price: 4.0
Ambiance: 4.0
Service: 3.0
The place looks very nice and is extremely cozy, very easy to relax or focus on your work, no wifi though. The staff are all nice and very attentive. I ordered the maryland omelet and the Juicy Lucy burger. The omelet was nicely presented on a skillet pan, very cheesy and the eggs were the perfect ratio of runny to solid. The only flaw was that there wasn't much sausage, would have been better to keep it whole to the side. The burger was also delicious, it was truly a legitimate juicy lucy as the cheese was kept gooey inside the meat unlike all the others I have tried. The burger was kinda small though and would have preferred fries over chips. Haven't really tried their drinks "yet" as I am not a very big fan of coffee. All in all its a very nice place if you wanna relax and eat some light food.
REALLY quiet place when we came in for lunch (so it was kind of awkward to catch up with a friend haha), good coffee (hot mocha on the picture), good food, cheap prices, nice ambience, no wifi though.
Worth coming back to!
Was here because of an acquaintance's book launch. This is a great place to hangout in whether it's packed or if you want some time alone. There's no wi-fi though. I loved their wall (see picture) and their lights encased in jars of some sort. Ordered the cold brew and iced latté. Both were good, although I had a hard time mixing the chocolate drizzle at the bottom of my latté. The truffle cream and portobello mushroom did not disappoint. I loved that it smelled of truffle oil when our server brought it to the table and it wasn't that heavy or filling for a pasta with cream-based sauce. Chances of me going back is pretty likely if ever I'm in the area. 😊
One of the most chill coffee shops i have ever been to. The ambiance of it is just to die for. The first thing i tried were the waffles and they were divine. Try it for yourself
It's my fourth time coming to this place and I've seen its' evolution since like more than 3 years I guess? I'm not sure if the staff has changed, but I miss how the baristas were knowledgable about their coffee. All I get when I ask what beans are used is "it's a blend." A blend of what? 😑
The interiors are still cool and good job in upping the food menu. But man, I missed Craft Coffee Revolution. Sorry, Ella and the Bird. 😥
Craft Katipunan was the first ever branch I have ever been to. If you love coffee and you want to find out what third wave/specialty coffee tastes like then Craft Revolution is the place to be at.
More on my review on Craft...soon.
This coffee place has become our coffee on the go, day off coffee, and 'just because coffee'. This place is directly on my flight map if I'm going to work, and I'll usually get an Iced Mocha or Iced Latte. Their beans are wonderful and my lattes are always amazing. The coffee is either roasted in-house or carefully sourced from artisan roasters, and is drip-brewed to order.
I also recommend the Cappuccino. It's smooth and strong though it wasn't as strong as I had hoped, regardless, you could taste the quality, making this a pretty good cup of Cappuccino. Also, I love it when they take the time to make a cute foam art (latte art) for you.
The vibe of this place is really chill with lots of different decorations that come together well in the space. Definitely appealing to the young professional crowd without trying to be anything too cool.
Now, let's talk about their customer service; It is beyond expectations! I could give this place a 5.0 rating based on service alone - I was greeted pleasantly and was offered options by the barista when I wasn't sure which to choose. He made sure to ask me how my day was going and held up a genuine conversation. It is such a nice change from my typical Starbucks experience.
I'll definitely hit it up again at this warm and wonderful spot to satisfy my insatiable appetite for good coffee.
I love the place, it's industrial looking type of cafe! The coffee was good I had flat white coffee and a tuna pesto sandwich. :) definitely worth going to. :>
Craft would be the perfect study place if only they had outlets and wifi. The coffee is super good and super strong and the food is pretty good too. The sansrival is super gooood! Definitely my favorite dessert item there.
Jumpstart your day with a good cup of coffee! Isnt it great news that third wave joe shops is a growing trend in Manila? While Starbucks is a default place for morning brews or afternoon meetings, its cool to know that there's a place specializing in direct trade coffee, lighter roasts, using high quality beans and cute latte arts! If you want a change from your usual morning routine, why not set a trip to Abada where Craft is? Ask their knowledgeable baristas for your perfect brew this morning! Try their sandwiches and all day breakfast sets too..They're yummy!
I ordered adobo pasta which was recommended by my friends and it was great. The interior is cozy and perfect for students who wants to study-- but not alone. It is more for group study sessions. I want to try more of their drinks next time.
always our go to place to chill. Love their flat white. One of the best i've tried! On the food, i recommend you to try the truffle omelette. Tasty and they didn't go easy with the truffle unlike other restaurants. My only comment is that they do not have wifi :( I would have given Craft 5/5 if they had one.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE COFFEE! Not about the place and neither the food. It's about revolutionizing your palate to a deeper appreciation of the #craft of brewing coffee. Try to buy their beans and brew it at home and you will not have the same result. Their mastery isn't only about getting the best beans and roasts in the region but it's the manner of preparing your cup with a whole variety of methods suited for each blend... consistently.
All items are must try. But if you're not really there for adventure or the artistry of coffee, the capuccino is a safe choice you.
Craft in Katipunan is one of those better looking stores they have in the metro. The ambience is perfect for students who wants to study or chill after a long day.
Don't leave without trying their coffee. And talk to them, they can customize your drink. Tip: sit on the bar so you'll get a small coffee session with your barista.
Try the brazil yellow bourbon, aeropress.
It was a rainy morning when I went here. I was the first customer. I ordered a hot cappuccino and a slice of chocolate cake. The cappuccino was creamy. In my opinion, their cappuccino is better than that of Starbucks'. As for the chocolate cake, it was moist compared to ordinary chocolate cake. Still, there was nothing special about it.
The place has a nice interior. I noticed that it was right beside a creek so this is going to be a problem for people who like to stay outside, especially smokers. The baristas were very kind and accommodating. They let me go into their work area so I could take better pictures. Mark, one of the baristas, even gave me a short lecture as he showed me how to make the cappuccino.
All in all, Craft Coffee Revolution is a great place to hang out with your friends and have a nice chat. It's also a nice place for studying. They serve an average selection of desserts and other food. But this place is really about the coffee. If you want to have a nice caffeine fix or if you just want to hang out with friends, Craft is a must-try place for you.
Craft Coffee Revolution is where the appreciation of specialty coffee began for me. I can still remember the complex notes of the Ethiopia Konga masterfully brewed over a Chemex. They definitely know their coffee.
The only bad experience I had was the disappointing with the Flat White that I was given, which was served plain and unappealing. Don't get me wrong, the drink tasted pretty good but I was expecting latte art. They did, however, make me very happy with their Cappucino. Damn, that was good.
The baristas were nice and they were very helpful whenever I asked about their coffee menu. The only issue I have is that the brew bar is in the back of the cafe, so you won't be able to enjoy observing your coffee being brewed.
The ambiance was beautiful and elegantly designed. It felt like a great place to relax, study, or have conversation. There were enough sockets in case you needed to bring a laptop, which is very important given that ADMU is nearby. I remember it was quiet both times I was there.
Food: Quality 4
Service Quality: 4
Ambiance: 4.5
Craft Coffee Revolution is a great place to enjoy a cup of freshly-roasted coffee. They also have a number of espresso drinks with milk in the menu beautifully decorated with latte art. I'd recommend the Cappucino and don't order a Flat White.
Overall, the combination of quality coffee, good service, and great ambiance will keep you coming back to Craft Coffee Revolution .
Cheers,
Chef Jay
I love their latte. Best coffee I've ever tasted. Their coffee has no other taste. The place has a nice ambiance & it's the perfect place to chill! Can't wait to visit here again 😊
Hooray for:
Cafe has outlets for both smoking and non-smoking areas.
Comfortable, steady, artsy café feel - great for catching up with friends or with yourself. No wifi, less distractions.
Salmon pasta was delicious and coffee was exceptional.
However:
•Other reviews raved about the wonderful, friendly baristas. i did not experience that at all. It was my first time to try their coffee and i had no idea what to pick (you can pick the way your coffee may be made + the kind of beans to use) and the barista was impatient and too detached to explain the different contraptions they used. he basically told me it was different. I really hope they were just having a bad day.
•no wifi
•water is self service
I love the place. I love the coffee. I love Craft.
Got to go here with a bunch of friends for the first time and was surprised to see the nice interior. Unfortunately, the place was quite small so we had to sit at their outside place, though it was very relaxing outside, and not to mention cool because of the greenery. After some time though we got to go sit inside at their counter and then at their regular table.
The menu would be quite intimidating for those not used to the complexities of coffee but they offer a good variety of it. Overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. Will definitely go back!
I've read a lot of reviews about Craft, which made it easy for me to decide which drink to order and what to look forward to.
The place is really nice. I love the interiors in Craft. Their wall is full of various art pieces and the whole place has this bit of vintage vibe to it. It's a cool place to chill or study in. The crowd is nice too.
The service was okay, nothing special. Water is also self-served.
As for my orders, I got Caffe Mocha (P 160) due to reviews. I asked them to do a cute latte art on it for me, which they did. It tasted delicious. The flavor was there and it was neither too strong nor too light. I loved how foamy it was and how it was made. I also ordered their French toast. It tasted nice, enough for an afternoon snack. :)
I will definitely come back to Craft. One of my new-found hang out places. :)
Gabriel Luis Arcenal Fuentes
+4.5
Love their interior. A cool place to hang out and enjoy your coffee. Will definitely come back here. Try their Java Cold Brew. I like it that they let you choose the type of brew that you would prefer.
No latte art on their Flat White. The presentation may not look that appealing but in terms of flavor, I liked it. The balance of the espresso and milk was just right. As it was late in the afternoon, I still needed some caffeine on me but not too much so as not to disrupt my sleep. And this coffee did just that.
No wonder their Frozen Brazo was their bestseller. It was good! With a fluffy top layer, the middle was creamy in an ice cream kind of way. It wasn’t that sweet that one could have bite after bite. We just all exclaimed happily once we bit into this.
One of their bestsellers too, their Macadamia Sansrival was my fave among the bunch. Partly because I’m biased to macadamia but still, it was good. They were quite generous in the amount of the nuts here. The buttercream was just right that it doesn’t overpower the slice. Aside from the macadamia nuts on top, you could taste the nut in every bite. This was one heavenly slice.
This was my pick: Apple Crumble. Not one of their bestsellers but it looked good. True to its name, this was a bit crumbly. But not to the point that you wouldn’t be able to taste the crust. This one had a good combination of apples and cinnamon that could very well hold itself with the other slices we had.
I love the ambiance especially the big wooden tables and diy wall decors (drawing & sketches). I also love the different methods on how they're brewing their coffee. I ordered the most strongest coffee that is available (brazilian something...) and used syphon for brewing. It is ok but not my favorite.
They have plenty of electrical outlets for all your gadgets, very helpful for students nearby.
I think their coffee shop lacks the "coffee" aroma. They do not have that inviting smell when you open their door. I think they should work on this as it sets the mood easily.
Peaceful and cozy place if you just want to chitchat with your friends or study alone. Love the wall art too! The cappuccino is a must try!
I ordered Iced Latte and it is really good. I also love the place because it is not crowded like the other coffee shops. The servers are just fine.
I've tried Craft's iced latte before and it was great! But during my recent visit two days ago, I just had the bacon and mushroom pasta. I no longer ordered coffee because it was late at night and I was scared of not being able to sleep. Lol. The pasta was served piping hot which I very much appreciated. The dish was pretty okay in general but I found the marinara sauce too sweet. The serving was also quite big-- one order was more than enough for me.The ambiance was very nice -- laid-back and relaxing. I see myself coming back here on a lazy Sunday.
Ambiance is good and coffee is delicious. The place is quite small and the parking lot as well. A perfect place for studying and chilling out with friends since it's not noisy. A bit pricey compared to other coffee shops. Only negative thing about Craft is that there was not WiFi but is says on their page it has so maybe update the information here please :)
Nice place to study. So much better when there aren't much people.
Their iced mocha is THE BEST. I always order the hot or iced mocha & truffle and mushroom pasta. Never fails!
The only thing I didn't like was that there was no WiFi.
It was a bit difficult to find Craft with it's very small signage hidden behind plants. Best landmark would be that it's right across a Barangay Hall, beside a creek.
Coffee is good and offered in a wide variety of types and preparation styles. They do not serve frappes/ice blended though. Ambiance is very nice, walls were filled with assorted artworks, earth colors used in the place are relaxing, furnishings are mostly of wooden materials, comfy seats, and warm lights. They should however find a solution to their al fresco area which has an unpleasant smell coming from the creekside.
I had my personal coffee fave Americano. It was very good. Tried the Macadamia Sansrival and loved every bite of it! Crunchy, nutty, and sweetened just right. My friends had hamburger and a steak sandwich which were both good and filling. We also had fruit calamansi slush and it was refreshing.
Overall, place is cozy. Food and coffee are very good. Service is good. A bit pricey.
As a coffee lover, you will enjoy your wide variety of drinks; from the coffee method selection to the beans, you can customize your drink the way you like it. A plus of this 3rd wave coffee shop is the surprisingly good food! One should try the mushroom truffle pasta. Ambiance is very artsy & chill; they have an available alfresco for smokers or guests who enjoy the outside. A downside to their alfresco is it is beside a lake that from time to time may smell. But overall, craft coffee revolution should be a go to place in the north!
Coffee is good. (They specialize on it so order one. Or four.) Food is nicely done. I would always order the Eastern skillet and Truffle mushroom pasta. Place is quite charming and laid back. Definite hangout for university kids.
This is my new favorite place to hang out. Comfortable atmosphere, great coffee, even amazing food. Their Truffle Pasta and Berry Overload Slushy are too-notch.
My favorite coffee shop when it comes to hot coffee. Where I enjoy a good cup of coffee with peaceful ambiance. :)
❤ THE PLACE:
the place was small, but spacious! Doesn't make any sense? It gives you the right homey feeling. What I liked most is that, it's not crowded and the people were quiet. They also have veranda on the side were smokers alike can enjoy the place.
❤ THE SERVICE:
The service was excellent they gladly accepted our challenge to give us different kinds of latte arts. haha.
❤ THE FOOD and PRICE:
Caffee Mocha (160 pesos) - This is boyfie's drink but I liked this a lot! The coffee was smooth and sweet (but not overly sweet), Semi coffee drinker lovers will liked this!
Piccolo Latte (120 pesos) - Bitter sweet coffee that is really smooth and frothy. It was a bit strong but it's still okay for the since there's a huge amout of milk that balances out the drink.
Macadamia Sansrival- (140 pesos) ahhhh! What is coffee without a perfect slice of cake? This is something I can recommend! It's good! Not the usual sansrival since the nuts they used is macadamia. It has the perfect buttery and crunchiness!
Cappuccino Cheesecake (130 pesos) - It's just so-so for me. It has a cookie base crust (oreo i think) with super soft cheesecake dusted with coffee. It's good but it's nakakaumay already. I think because it's not that cold?
Frozen Brazo de Mercedes (100? pesos) Just to be clear, I'm not a fan of Brazo de Mercedes. Even there's a Brazo Cake at home, I'll skip it. To think that I'm a cake lover! But not this one! A friend told me that it's off the menu, and I'm so glad I've tasted this one! It really good! The first thick layer seems like an Ice Cream, with thin layer of Brazo de Mercedes filling with fluffy layer on top. Take it from me, Sarap! :)
❤ THE VERDICT:
Cozy Place and Good Coffee with Latte Art, and a nice piece of cake on the side? I'll always come back! :)
I love everything in the menu! The service is not always the best though. My friends and I once had to wait over 30 minutes for our food to be served. The waiters didn't even care that we kept on making follow ups on our order. The place is really chill. I guess the whole chill vibe got to their waiters too.
I love the ability to pick beans and pick how they will make your coffee. More bean options would be nice. And more equipment so more than one person can enjoy, say a syphon, at a given time.
The art of coffee. The coffee of art.
This charming little nook of a coffee shop is neatly hidden from Katipunan mainstream traffic. The place is studded with decadent art pieces situated in every wall. I really loved their use of teal in the water vases. The jugs were so cute, I kept on ordering house water. :)) Different seating arrangements are available that mostly suits any kind of coffee enthusiast. The service is a notch higher than expected from a little coffee shop. The owners were there to manage and to help the crew by waiting the tables themselves. One thing not to like though is the aircon dripping. The table beside ours was having a family dinner but are not so much in tune with each other as they are distracted by the water drops. :( During the time of visit, there was no wifi available so, not much a place for study groups.
The food is also decadent but affordable in price. The ingredients were not "tinipid" so the aroma and the flavor were really true to what is expected. We got the Eastern Skillet (all-day breakfast), Grilled Chicken Honey Mustard sandwich, Truffle and Mushroom pasta, and the Brazilian Yellow Bourbon coffee brew (brew of the week, I think). They replaced the all-day breakfast potato balls in their menu with potato chips. :(
I planned to stay here for a few hours since i loved the al fresco side of the place. But my stay was cut short due to the smell of the creek right beside it. I hope they can do something about it.
I enjoyed the truffle mushroom though. It is an uncomplicated dish. But it just really pleases my taste buds. Just by the thought of it now makes me crave for it.
The place is quiet. Adviseable for those who needs a place to review for school or some sort. A very good alternative for starbucks and coffee bean where these places gets really crowded and loud.
Cool place. Gives off laid-back vibe when you come in. I especially love the bar section. Food is good, usual prices you'd expect when dining in a cafe. The Brew Bar is new to me, they offer different ways in brewing coffee. First-timers, don't be shy to ask the server or barista about how this works. I tried the nicaragua origin with espro press as weapon. I was surprised because the barista served it without sugar or cream. I'm used to drinking black coffee but I always add in a dab of sugar. I wasn't disappointed though when I tried it, it was just right, not too strong. And you know the after taste you always get when drinking coffee? I didn't get any of that, it was actually refreshing. I also tried their slushies, way better than the ones I drink at Tokyo Bubble Tea. I love breakfast food so when I saw that they actually have a number of breakfast meals on the menu I was happy (generous serving too).
Good food and coffee. Big pasta servings. Cozy and artsy ambience. I love the wall of artworks! Hope their space becomes bigger so that they can accommodate more customers at a time :)
When it comes to coffee, Craft Coffee Revolution truly serves up a great experience. Aside from the wide range of coffee beans and brewing methods available, baristas are friendly and are well-versed on their product.
I sat by the bar and had the brazilian yellow bourbon (coffee beans) extracted through the espro press that uses vacuum air pressure. Craft actually didn't serve the first one they made for me because as per the barista, it didn't satisfy their standard. (They poured a little sample separately and tasted it before serving.) This made me appreciate their commitment to excellent service and coffee.
The next one was perfect. I took it black and it was a mind -opening experience. It had undertones of dark chocolate without any bitter coffee after -taste. Its like the "smb super dry" version of coffee.
Using the same coffee beans, the barista also let me try their cold brew (not yet on menu) for free. Yahoo! It was served with ice and somehow had a delightful almost wine-like finish. Its amazing how the difference in water temperature produces two completely different profiles.
I am certainly not a coffee expert, but my experience at Craft piqued my interest to know much more.
