Pinác’s menu covers specially made dishes from breakfast to dinner and tantamount to a buffet idea, it has a wide array of interesting native dishes to choose from. Each done in skillful and meticulous preparation.

Cut above the rest

Interior is classy, ambiance is welcoming and fairly so, the rate is justifiable. You know you’ll end up paying right for what is quality and pleasing for belly (as well as for pocket). Just to ameliorate a little more on serving, and presto! it is a gastronomic haven to be. Suffice to say, Pinác setting is ideal for special events, corporate meet ups, or simply a great way to treat yourself and/or love ones after a long and hungry day. The food itself is divine. So the choice is between yes and yes.

yes.

A healthy start

We were confronted with a challenging appetizer. Hito Balls, Mustasa and Buro is intriguing in looks and in taste, exceptional, however. Shredded catfish rounded and coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried. Paired with salty-sour buro (fermented rice) along with mustard green leaf prior to dipping in Pinac’s home-made vinaigrette

Three’s a treat

Pinoy’s all time fave Suman, Mangga at Tsokolate are pretty cool combo for dessert. — a delicious platter of breaded rice cake pieces served with sweet mangoes and thick cocoa sauce. Delectable, Hearty and lip-smaking in one. We craved for more.

Pinac serves heirloom Capampangan dishes. We were there before noon so the lunch crowd had not arrived yet.

I had a refreshing glass of Cucumber Mint Dalandan Shake (P115). It’s citrusy and cooling at the same time. It’s so perfect when the weather is warm or hot.

To start our meal, we had Ensaladang Pako with Fried Itik Floss (P165). In English, it’s fern salad with fried duck meat floss. The crispy floss adds a tasty crunch to the julienned green mangoes, fresh ferns, onions, and salted egg. It’s served with vinaigrette on the side. This salad is a great complement to creamy rich foods like Kare-Kare.

I must confess, I’ve never eaten catfish (hito) in my entire life so I was iffy about Crisp Hito Balls, Mustasa, and Buro (P235). The recommended way of eating this is to wrap the balls with the leaf, put a bit of buro, and then dip in the vinaigrette. It’s soooo good! OMG. I find the hito scary-looking but I don’t mind having it in this form.

We also tried the Fried Kesong Puti Ensalada (P145). It’s a dish of mixed greens, tomatoes, and cucumber with fried balls of kesong puti drizzled with vinaigrette. Nice, light, and refreshing.

So many interesting appetizers... we just had to order Lumpiang Ubod Taquitos (P185). It's a modern twist on the classic Lumpiang Ubod. Julienned heart of palm is mixed with shrimp, shitake, and beans then placed on a bed of fried crispy wontons instead of wrapped. It’s drizzled with a light peanut sauce and wow, it’s just perfect as an appetizer! Ready-to-eat, no-frills, and totally delicious!

For the main event, we had Pinac’s Crispy Pata (P645). Tender fall-off-the-bone meat with crunchy pork rind/skin is served with ampalaya atchara. OMG. They cook this for six hours. It was all gone in minutes, lol!

Then it was time for dessert.  I had Halo-Halo (P135). It was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. The Calamansi Panna Cotta was better for me.

To be honest I’m not that fond of Filipino food but I was totally wowed by the dishes I tried at Pinac. I will definitely take my mom and stepdad and all my balikbayan friends and relatives to Pinac for traditional Filipino cooking — some with very much welcome modern twists. Prices are reasonable and the menu is very extensive! Kare-kare, sinigang, lechon kawali… they have everything! I had a preview of their kare-kare and wow, the aroma alone is enough to send you to the high heavens. There are no shortcuts (no bottled peanut butter for their kare-kare sauce, they actually grind the peanuts themselves!). Pretty much everything is made the old-fashioned way.

Pinac is a great Kapampangan restaurant that seems to be overlooked by QC foodies. The weekday lunch and dinner buffets are not big spreads but the food presented is curated well and offers bang for your buck (lunch is P269; dinner is less than P400). If you would rather order ala carte, the paco salad, salted egg shrimp and flat top s'mores are sure winners. The Kare-kare, crispy chicken skin and crispy pata are also yummy options. I am surprised there isn't a line at its door during dinner.

Pampanga is not only well known for it's  dialect, beautiful locals and tourist attractions, but also of it's unique and homey cuisine. I have a lot of favorite Kapampangan dishes (except for the exotic/Fear-factor-ish ones) that's why I was excited when I had the chance to try this U.P. Town Center resident: Pinac.

Located in UP Town, Pinac offers a variety of Filipino Capampangan dishes that for sure you wanna try. Let’s start our dining adventure so that you’ll understand why.
Sisig Pizza (P245) is delish. Thin and crispy tortilla topped with green bell peppers and drizzled with mayo. I think, it will be better if the meat is a bit smaller. Crispy Hito Balls, Mustasa and Buro (235) is my favorite. Angel said that the fun way of eating it is to dip the catfish balls in buro (fermented fish) then wrap it in mustard leaves. For the record, this is the only time I enjoyed eating catfish and fermented fish. I liked their fermented fish because it doesn’t have any disgusting smell.
Baked Oysters with Crispy Kangkong (235) is so yummy, cheesy and creamy! However, the kangkong is not that crispy. But if you love oyster and cheese, I really recommend this!
Deep Fried Chicken Skin with Chips (325) is crispy and not that greasy than I expected. Man, this is quite addicting. You’ll have to master self-control here.
You can never go wrong with Pinac’s Crispy Pata (645). Pork knuckle poached in aromatics for six hours then deep fried to crispy perfection as they described it. I rarely eat Crispy Pata because of the bad experience I had from the other restaurant. But this one is an exception. Exception! Exception! It now reminds me of the song The Only Exception, an ost for Twilight. If Bella and Edward tried Pinac’s Crispy Pata, they will understand. Haha.
Beef Kare Kare (P205 solo) is palatable. The sauce is creamy and thick compared to other. As per Angel, it is because of the glutinous rice and peanut butter.
Overload Pinoy Paella (645) is not your ordinary Paella. Pinac’s version is a bit sweet and literally overload with shrimp, pork, egg, etc.
Salted Egg Paro (395) is something new for me. Shie Captures tip: the lemon is not just there as a garnish, you have to squeeze it so that it will balance the saltiness of the egg and gives a bit of tangy flavor.
Flat Top Smores (255) is so delicious!
Puto Bumbong with Coconut Sugar (135) is flavorful. You can actually taste the halaya ube compared to the normal Puto Bumbong. Pinac’s version is better!

Lastly, we had Mango Panna Cotta with Turon (155).

Post birthday celebration once again last Sunday with my dear highschool friends. Its our first time to eat out at UP Town Center. I was excited for lunch, supposedly at Shrimp Bucket, but we had a sudden change of venue due to long queue.

So we passed by Pinac, a Kapampangan restaurant. There were seats available and we quickly decided to dine. We are all craving for home cooked dishes, so this place is perfect.

We had:
Suam na Mais (P395)- one big bowl! It has 5pcs of shrimps and clams.

Crispy Hito Balls, Mustasa & Buro (P265)- not my usual appetizer. I prefer the fried fish for this one. The hito balls were okay, and i enjoyed the buro sauce and mustasa that serves as wrapper

Salted Egg Paro (P395)- its a bit salty for me. The sauce has bits of salted egg, i was expecting it to be more richer salted egg taste in a creamy form. But since it has prawns.. its always good for me😊

Beef Kare Kare (P365)- nothing spectacular. It would be better if there were more veggies in the mixture.

Sizzling Sisig Babi (P155)- small in size, that we thought its "bitin". But this sisig is tasty that its rice intensive. Its good as it is cooked the Kapampangan way.

Verdict: this place is okay, once in a while home cooked meals are really yummy amd you'll never go wrong. Price is okay, since serving size is enough for us.

Pampanga has been known for its delectable indigenous cuisine. It is thus no surprise that Pinac offers the best of Pampanga's flavors. If you’re a fan of Kapangpangan cuisine, then you might want to give this restaurant a visit. UP Town Center, Katipunan has a huge selection of restaurants to choose from and I am glad to have tried this delicious treat! ! This is their only branch. UP Town Center has a number of restaurants that are only available in this particular mall which makes the mall awesome.

The restaurant is not small, but just as a side note, when they open another branch, I hope they add 1 or 2 function rooms where people can celebrate birthdays with family and friends. The restaurant has a homey, family feel with Filipino touches all around it. As a trivia, some of the restaurant’s wood is actually from old Pampanga churches (cool, noh?).

Crispy Tadyang is one of my favorite Filipino dishes. I try to eat it in moderation though because of the fat content. However, whenever I would like to indulge myself in a Filipino meal after a long day, this is my go-to dish.

Piñac doesn’t have this exact dish, what they have is Smoked Tadyang with Yellow Mango Chutney (I am allergic to Mango so I had it taken out—which they gladly did). It was a really big serving (we took some of it home). I really love contrast of the soy sauce with the vinegar vegetable mix. I must admit, I missed the crispiness of the beef, but overall I was super happy with this one.

When we arrived in Pinac, we were greeted by nice and attentive staff. Love how they cater to your needs and that they don't say no immediately (After asking if I could charge my phone). The place itself is spacious, with a lot of tables that can accommodate big or small groups of people. Comfy chairs, a lot of space to move around, and gives off a peaceful and homey ambiance that's still fancy and comfortable. The restroom was the most amusing of the place, as it's hidden (It's by the right side and is the same design as a wall). I was pushing the walls until I found the opening (Though someone was inside, so I looked like an idiot pushing walls at first!).

Started with the sisig pizza, basically pork sisig with bell peppers drizzled with mayonnaise on a thin crust. So yummy, I love how they mad the crust thin to not overpower the whole pizza, and that the sisig was soft and tender. I'm no fan of mayonnaise, but it complemented the sisig!

Next up was first hito with fermented fish. It was served with vinegar (If you're not a fan of the fermented fish) and mustard leaves. A bit confusing at first, but you roll the fried hito balls with the leaves and add the fermented fish or vinegar as sauce. I love the tangy and sour taste of the mustard leaf with the hito, but I prefer it alone with the vinegar! The fermented fish tasted nice, but I would rather not match it with the already salted hito.

My favorite, chicken skin with potato chips! I didn't get to taste the sauce, but the chicken skin didn't need any, as it's already salted and good on its own. I bet it would be great on vinegar, though. Love how it isn't so salty and still crispy. Some were tender yet with a crunch, which made me come back for more. It's their bestseller, and I can see why!

For the baked oysters with cheese and crispy kang kong, this is the least of my favorites, yet not bad! I'm not a huge fan of oysters, and it was a bit cold when I tasted it. I'm sure it would be good, but again, I don't like the sourness of oysters, and while the cheese would have helped, it didn't have as much flavor as I expected it to have. Plus, the kang kong had more oil than it's supposed to, making it more drenched and soggy than crispy.

On to the main courses, which was B E A U T I F U L! Started off with the kare-kare, which was definitely the most memorable ones I've tasted. And I've tasted a LOT of kare-kare, LOL. Soup was so thick, beef was tender, and vegetables were perfectly cooked. It had the authentic peanut taste that you know is made of real and fresh ingredients, not just some pre-mixed powder.

Crispy pata. I have no idea what to say about it, but YUM. Definitely a guilty pleasure. I love how they cut it to make it easier to serve, and it makes it look all the more appealing and delicious to eat. Pork was tender, skin was crunchy, fats were… PERFECT! Hahaha. Interestingly, they served it with fermented ampalaya and eggplant (Like atsara, but not papaya!) Sourness removed the bitterness of the ampalaya, which made it taste better than what I expected it to be. I love it.

Seafood paella was next, and instead of the usual Spanish dish, it comes Filipino style with a sweeter tomato base, chorizo, and bagnet topped with it! They had the usual shrimp, boiled egg, and other vegetables included. It wasn't the best of all I've tasted in Pinac, but it is good. I just don't like how the rice is a bit… wet? I expect paella to have rice clinging on to each other but a bit squishy (If this makes sense), but I felt like I was eating cooked rice that was washed or drenched in tomato sauce. I like the chorizo and seafood, it's just the rice that made it less yummy for me.

Last, the fried shrimp! This isn't your usual tempura style fried shrimp, but it's coated in salted egg mixture and a secret ingredient I'd rather not say (All respects to the owner, your secret's safe with us!). All I'll comment on is that it's delicious and the blend of the ingredients makes it so interestingly good. Squeeze a bit of lemon on it and all the flavors are bursting!

Last but definitely not the least, DESSERT! Aaaaah, this is definitely what made me stuffed to the rim. I'll start off with the puto bumbong, which is made of real ube. Alone, it wouldn't be super flavorful. But when you top it with coconut shavings and sugar, YUM. Gives me that Christmas vibe already!

Next up, turn with mango panna cotta. The turn itself is well sliced and crunchy, sweet and delicious (I'm a huge fan of anything with bananas). Add a bit of the mango syrup, and it becomes better. The panna cotta itself is very yummy, and glad to say that this was the best one I've tasted, since most panna cottas would be too liquify and not gelled enough, if you know what I mean.

Last but the most beautiful of all, the one I was really waiting for.. .The s'mores! It's made out of flat tops and comes with graham crackers. Just… urgh. It's better than sex (But what do I know?). Or think of the best thing in your life. 10 times better. I wish my phone didn't run out of battery so I could have taken a photo or video of the chocolate gooeyness that is my s'more. Once you dip into the marshmallow, you'll find a pool of chocolate underneath, and the mixture of both marsh and choco makes it thick and clings onto your graham cracker, making it perfect to sandwich and eat. The chocolate stains on my mouth and teeth after signifies my satisfaction and ultimate happiness.

I love their Roasted Chicken. It has a unique taste and it does not have the strong smokey taste that we usually get. It is very tender and their gravy complements the chicken very well. Their "Cucumber-Mint-Dalandan" juice is a must try! It is very refreshing and takes away the "umay" after eating different entrée. Servers are also polite and they always smile. Over-all, I am very satisfied with their serving. If you are celebrating a birthday or any occassion with your family, I think this is one of the best place for it. The food is very affordable and the ambiance of the place is spot on. Be blown away with their unique twist of our regular Filipino dishes! ☺

This place can get very busy on Sunday Lunch. So, its best you get reservations.

The Crispy Pata is the winner! It made me braved the traffic just to have this!

We also tried the Beef Kare Kare. It came us a surprised to us that there were only two small pieces of meat and when we asked about it, they said it was supposed to be liked that. Now I am traumatized to order Kare Kare elsewhere thinking it will be like that again.

Anyway, overall the food was good. I saw some squid on the other table which looks very appetizing. I'll come back to try that!

I love special days because they often come with celebrations, and often, with celebrations comes food. It’s nice to have these days in between Christmas and New Year. While they’re not the best days in the calendar, they still provide us excellent excuses to indulge ourselves.

We did exactly this last Father’s Day in Pinac, a Kapampangan restaurant in UP Town Center. My family got there before I did so I told them to check the restaurants I wanted to try. It was a choice between Crisostomo and Pinac, both serving Filipino food. Since it was my father’s special day, I thought it would be best to dine in a restaurant that serves his favorite dishes. Truthfully, the only reason Pinac won was the other restaurant was too crowded at the time, but overall, I was happy with the choice we made.

Pinac scored high in my chart because of the food. I decide whether food is good based on three things: taste, serving size, and price. Pinac nailed these all. (I wasn’t satisfied with the desserts but I’ll go to that later.) Every dish was served in large servings. They mean it when they say an order is good for 2-3 people and everything was brimming with flavor, too.

I am absolutely obsessed with their beef kare-kare. The meat was cooked perfectly and the dish can stand alone without the bagoong. The crispy pata was so tender and was served nicely on a wooden board. Our appetizer, baked oysters was to die for. I would’ve liked it better if they served it earlier, it being an appetizer, but the taste more than made up for the delay.

The beef bulalo and liempo were also good but didn’t stand out as much as the rest of what we ordered. The liempo had laing with it, though, and I wish they had it on the menu without the meat because I can totally dig that.

I originally wanted to order their roast chicken because chicken is my most favorite thing in the world but my family would much rather have crispy pata. When I come back, though, and I definitely will, that’s the first thing I would get for sure.

Now, as promised, I’ll talk about the desserts.

I have a thing for sweets. No matter how full I am, I will always have room for dessert. We got halo-halo and buko pandan. The reason I ordered buko pandan was when I was in Seafood Island with my teammates, I had a ton of fun eating their buko pandan. It was served in a coconut shell and had all the flavors in the world. Pinac’s buko pandan was served in a plain sort of cup with very little coconut, and it tasted like it had no milk at all. It was mostly green nata de coco and water. Definitely a no. The halo-halo fared slightly better because it had ube ice cream in it but I thought I could get something more flavorful from the streets. Something positive: my father got free turon! Yay.

The place looked pretty. The interiors matched the vibe the restaurant was going for and at first they seemed like they had a lot of space. It got a little crowded in the middle of our meal but it was a Sunday and Father’s Day so that was understandable. What disappointed me was the place did not have sufficient air-conditioning. It got really warm when people started piling in. They made up for it by installing multiple fans in the area but those took up space and fans are super noisy. Maybe fix your air-conditioners next time?

Overall, this was a great dining experience. We haven’t even finished eating yet and I was already thinking about what I was going to order when I come back. .5 points each deduction for the ventilation issue and the desserts. Everything else was a-ok. Good job, Pinac!

Last February 1, we had a family lunch at Pinac in UP Town Center. It was my first time going here so I have no idea what this restaurant serves.

Pinac restaurant serves Campampangan cuisines, perfect for our Filipino balikbayan family friends. The interiors of the place are very Filipino and I like the big mirror on one side of the wall. There were lots of variety of foods to choose from.

Here's what we ordered:

(I do apologize for the lack of photos of the foods and the place)

Sinigang sa Ulo sa Salmon sa Miso (Php245)

- This dish has the perfect sinigang taste for me. Di sya ganun kaasim so it's super okay for me. The serving size is good for 3-4 persons.

Classic Roast Chicken (Php475)

- Not a fan of chicken nor roasted chicken but their chicken meat is soft and chewy.

Salted Egg Paro (Php395)

- This the best dish for me. I'm not sure of this but it's a shrimp fried with salted egg fried just like a "kwek kwek". I dunno how it was done but the taste is very creamy and the shrimp was fried into perfection. Super yummy!

Suman, Mangga at Tsokolate (Php140)

- I think everyone loves this version of their suman and mangga dipped in chocoate syrup.

Cucumber Mint Dalandan Shake (Php85)

- The cucumber with mint and dalandan has a weird but refreshing taste for me. I didn't liked the cucumber taste but I think Dalandan with Mint will already do.

Tsoknut Banana Vanilla Shake (Php85)

- This shake tastes very good, not too sweet for me.

Buko Pandan

- I think their Buko Pandan lacks the pandan flavor. It wasn't sweet for me and I was looking for that sweet buko pandan taste.

Overall, I liked that this place serves lots of different Filipino cuisines perfect for family lunch/dinner or for balikbayans who misses Filipino dishes. Thumbs up! :)

Pinác serves Filipino-Capampangan cooking with a heart (parang "Confidently beautiful" lang).
Tortang Balasenas (Php145) is an eggplant omelette served with a tomato capsicum catsup.
Sarciadong Tinapa at Kesong Puti Pasta (Php165) has a nice balance of smokiness of the fish, fruitiness of the tomatoes and light creaminess of the cheese.
Pinác's Crispy Pata (Php645) is poached in aromatics to make the meat fall-off-the bone tender and the skin as crispy as it can get.
Lengua (Php335) is ox tongue braised in red wine and shiitake sauce served with mashed potatoes.
Bringhe (Php345) is the Kapampangan version of the paella; glutinous rice cooked in coconut cream then served with fried chicken skin.
Salted Egg Paro (Php395) is deep fried battered shrimps tossed in salted egg and alige (crab fat) * Evil Laugh*
Finish off your meal with refreshing Cucumber Mint Dalandan shake (Php85) or a sinful delight of Tsoknut Banana Vanilla Shake (Php85).

Great interior, accommodating waiters, and delicious food. We had the group meal for 10-12 people and I really liked the crispy hito balls with mustasa and buro as the appetizer. Something I haven't tried before, and now I think I'll go back here just to try it again and again. I have to commend also the baby back ribs and their crispy pata: really good. Though we were about to bill out, they seem to have forgotten about us since there was also a sudden rush of families wanting to dine in. Took us a while, though. The waiter explained that some of his co-waiters were absent and there were only 4 of them when we went in. Anyway, great place to eat! Will surely come back

Food: Their beef caldereta with eggplant parmigiano is a must try thought I wasn't able to enjoy it well because I'm enjoying myself on Sinigang and lechon kawali. For this, I rare the food 4.5

Service: I rate service as 3. Our supposed to be appetizer came so late that we were not able to eat the ensaladang pako. We almost canceled the order. Plus, it seems that they're forgetting things. Like they almost forgot our iced tea, my request for additional tissue, our and warm water. Lastly, geez, I know this kind of resto takes time to serve food but we waited for almost 30 mins for the food. Literally.

Ambience: Nothing is special. It's not something you want to take your picture with but it's homey. It's 3.

I've been used to Filipino food that's the last thing I'll choose whenever dining out but this place proved me wrong. At first I thought just another resto but wait until I tasted their meal btw group meal good for 5-8 according to them but when served good for 8-10. I love their Kare-kare goes well with bagoong, their crispy pata is crispy and tender at the same time, their salted egg buro is a surprise winner, try their roasted chicken which is kinda sweet, even the ribs uhhhm taste good. I recommend this to family looking for a good meal.

One of my family's favorite restaurants in UP Town. We loved all that we ordered but the stars of the night were the Lechon kawali with Laing and the angus beef salpicao!! :)

Went to Pinac with my girlfriend and her brother and we ordered Binagoongan Lechon Kawali and Sinigang na Ulo ng Salmon sa Miso.

The resto was neat and clean so it was really great to dine. I really love Filipino cuisine so the food we ordered was fine though I don't think it's that kind of place you would crave to try again.

Tasty Kapampangan dishes plated so beautifully! Nice ambiance, elegant decor, place looks really expensive, but the prices show otherwise. Perfect place for family/big group dinners. Place gets a bit packed though, so it's best to reserve.

"Surprisingly good!"
We went to UP town center this weekend for lunch. It's 1:15pm and Family is really hungry.
Since Casa Verde has a long waiting line, we tried another resto... PINAC!

The verdict:
1. Molo soup - 4 - very tasty and a bit garlicky
2. Sisig - 4.5 - Kapampangan style! And it's really good! Perfect with rice!
3. Tinapa Rice - 4.5 - you can taste the tinapa in every bite. Unlike the others which have only bits sprinkled on top.
4. Kaldereta eggplant parmigiana - 4 - was intrigued by this twist! Beef so tender! The sauce could've used a bit more spice!
5. Seafood Kare-Kare - 3.5 - on the sweet side. Not my kind of Kare!
6. Tanglad-Dalandan Juice - 4

The lady who took our order was very courteous and quick. Service was great all were very attentive!
I'm glad we did not wait in line at Casa Verde!
We wouldn't have tried this quaint Kapampangan resto!

One of the best filipino restaurants I've eaten. I love their native food especially the lenguà & chicken pastel. I like how the food was cooked. I also liked the ambiance of the place, it's just like home. 😉

My mom is usually very hard to please when we eat out, all the more if we eat at a Kapampangan restaurant (She's Kapampangan.). Since it seemed like we ate at all the other restaurants at U.P. Town Center already, we decided to try Pinac. Their interiors are clean and the large mirrors make the place look spacious.

Their food is reasonably priced and delicious. We particularly liked their Seafood Karekare and Brazo de Mais with Salabat.

This modern kapampangan resto is a must try. The place gives a feel of the province while showcasing filipino artworks and paintings. Though our order came in after 30mins, the long wait is worth it. We ordered Pan seared bangus belly in trio aligue, lechon kawali with laing and beef tapa. All my kapampangan husband could say is, manyaman at its peak! What I like best is the chocnut banana vanilla shake. Superb! Are we going back? Uhmmm... Tonight!:-)

Pinác is a great addition to Filipino/Kapampangan restaurants. While there may be a lot of them already, Pinác separates itself by having a modernized yet still hearty dishes. Pinác is admirable for sharing Candaba’s heritage through food and architecture.

Their food may be a little overpriced but it’s something I wouldn’t mind paying for. Nevertheless, Pinác gave me a pretty good impression. I will certainly come back for their Crispy Hito Balls, Kare-Kare, and Suman, Manga, at Tsokolate; as well as to try out their other dishes. Without a doubt, I will recommend trying out Pinác to everyone.

Pinac, an Heirloom Capampangan Cuisine at the 2nd floor of UP Town Center, is homey; though dining tables are set quite close to each other, giving a feeling of crampiness. The colorful artworks by local artists are interesting and stir positive tone. Overall, the place is a winner where good friends and/or family can dine for good food at ample serving for a reasonable cost. To start with, my friends and I ordered the Appetizer Sampler. Our catchings-up were perked as we nibbled on that " a little of everything" platter of fresh mustasa leaves, buro and hito (catfish) balls, calamares, lumpiang ubod, sisig babi and grilled talong atchara. The crunchy lumpiang ubod na hubad (unwrapped) is one sure item in my bucket list of "what-to-reorder-next-time". For our main course, the Crispy Pata served with atcharang kangkong and vinegar-soy sauce dip is perfectly fried, with is very tender, yet the skin is crackling with crispness. The sinigang na hipon is steaming with right sourness of tamarind broth. The sugpo (Tiger prawn) are fresh, making it easy to be taken out from the shell. Delectably served is the Beef Caldereta Eggplant Parmigiano. It's a twist from the usual serving of Calderetang Baka (more often served as a stew on a bowl). This one looks like baked, with the ground beef Caldereta sandwiched in between layers of peeled eggplant and cheese. This one surely goes to the list of my highly recommended menu. And the perfectly seasoned and deep-fried Binukadkad na Tilapia is served with yellow mango and cucumber chutney. The saltiness and crispness of the tilapia goes well with the sweetness and freshness of the chutney. And to satisfy our cravings for something sweet, we indulged in Calamansi Panna Cotta , Turon with Dulce de Leche and the Latik Fondue. The Calamansi Panna Cotta is an exciting battle of sourness and sweetness in the palate. The Latik Fondue is just as exciting, too, with that creamy, coconut sugar preparation coating those seasonal fruits (banana and watermelon) and crispy suman just as great as that of the Swiss-originated Chocolate fondue. The whole Capampangan food experience proved to be worthwhile with true friends having a good chat over good, delish dishes!

Satisfied my craving for one of my favorite Capampangan dishes that isn't easily replicated around the metro: BRINGHE.

For that alone, they get 5 stars.

We also ordered adobong kangkong (decent), liempo with Capampangan atchara (YUM!), and a single serving of garlic rice (generous).

The service was decent (did not feel rushed, not suffocated), food arrived on time, and when asked for the leftovers to be prepared for take out, and liempo bones doggie bagged for the dog, they separated it and even made the simple paper bag look cute :)

I had a wonderful experience, with great value for money. Dishes are good for sharing and coming here made me miss my Capampangan grandfather even more.

Interiors are quaint and clean, modern Filipino with a touch of nostalgia. Definitely coming back.

It was such a great night knowing another Capampangan restaurant has been opened. As we all know, Capampangan's has great skills when it comes to cooking and have their variety of authentic Filipino recipes.   I love the ambiance of the place. So cozy and homely, and when it comes to their food, it was fantastic.

We had the appetizer platter. It has pork sisig, calamares, hito balls, lumpiang ubod, wanton wrapper, lettuce, and condiments like buro, suka and mayo. It was my first time to eat buro or binuro, although I used to hear it from my Tita's. Anyway, I focus on pork sisig, Lols.

Next, they served us the Sinigang na ulo ng Maya-maya with a separate miso on the side. Followed by Ox tail and beef's tripe is so hit in our table, and it doesn't ends there because crispy pata is on the way which also a well loved and of course the dessert which is the Manga, Suman and Tsokolate.

Hello Sweeties!

I was invited by fellow blogger to attend a very unique event, a combination food tasting and launch for a new beauty brand. I don't frequent the UP Town Center although it is accessible but very out of the way. I was plesantly surprised to find that the area has grown since I was last there.

Pinac Heirloom Capampangan Cuisine located at the 2nd floor UP Town Center, is one of the new restos located at this buzzling new shopping haven. Pinac interiors are bright with white and blue walls, high back chairs that gives you comfortable homey atmosphere.

Great selection of Pinoy comfort food found in Pinac.

We started with:

Apperizer Sampler: Crispy Hito Balls, Mustasa, Lumpiang Ubod Taquitos, Onion Rings, Buro and Thousand Island Dressing

Crispy Hito Balls, Mustasa, and Buro This is one of the dishes I found unique and worth going back to. They suggested I wrap the ball in the leaf, add a bit of buro and dip with vinaigrette, the Pinac version of a Korean veggie wrap. A very nice treat.

Sinigang na Ulo ng Salmon sa Miso. The warm sour broth was so comforting and reminded me a lot of my bestfriend's Ima Sinigang. She is Kapampanga too and when I go visit her. Seasoned with just the right sourness to wake and warm me up as I ready for the other Pinac dishes.

Pinac's Crispy Pata. Sinful and decadent. The crispy, crunchy and perfectly seasoned pork rind/skin need only the light touch of my fork for it to fall off. I have to say I gave in the the call of this forbidden dish. It was just to good to pass up.

Beef Kare-Kare, I confess, I am a Kare-kare lover. If there was any dish served at any new resto, I would try the Kare-kare out first. This heavenly dish is served with fresh vegetables, my main focus in all the Kare-kare dishes I try out. No bottled peanuts for them, They actually grind their own peanuts to make this wonderful sauce.

Sweet satisfying dessert of Suman, Manga at Tskolate.

I love the contrast of the slight sour-sweet mango the chocolate and the suman. This unique combination gave me pause at first but after several spoonfuls, I was in -love.

The food was excellent, I also love the paintings displayed on their walls. It gives Pinac the light cheerful feel. I would probably bring my friends here to try every single thing on the menu.

My mom is Kapampangan, so we had high hopes for this place. And Pinac delivered. Everything was well put together, tasty, and most importantly, felt like home.

The service was a tad slow that day, and I would have preferred the sinigang to be hotter. But I was pleased to taste it was made from real sampaloc.

The inihaw na liempo came with a sweet soy sauce concoction, which I skipped and just made my own toyo calamansi. Although their sauce will appeal to those who like a little sweetness in their food.

I was told that the dishes from Pinac came from heirloom recipes from the owner's grandmother. And truth be told that their dishes are cooked well, and they are indeed delicious. I also commend the paintings displayed on their restaurant that I think it's on sale.

We tried their appetizer sampler, sinigang na ulo ng salmon, kare kare, crispy pata and tsokolate at turon. All of them were delectable, but what stoods the most for me is the Crispy pata because of its tenderness and crispyness. Also liked their kare kare too!

Service is fast and efficient, and the staff is courteous, so expect great service while you're here.

Pinac is my first Food Review for 2015, and it was a privilege to be invited the place was so cozy ornamented with paintings and the location is so accessible. We were able to try different recipe from the sampler appetizer, main course to the dessert.
This crispy pata was so mouthwatering because the skin was crunchy and the meat is so soft that it easily leaves the bone. The taste goes well with Capampangan achara.

Pinac puts a modern twist on local Kapampangan cuisine and the dishes feel aunthentically Filipino.

The place is well-lit, perpetually clean, and the chairs are comfy, but you would be thrown off by the place playing Billboard Top 40 songs from previous 2 years. But other than that, ambiance is quite OK.

On to the food: Hands down to the Aligue Pasta, which IMO is their best dish. It's hard to describe exactly what happened there, but this dish is made of heaven. I would omit their crab patty however as with most of their fried dishes, this one topped on the pasta is overdid and tastes bland.

Their Laing x Lechon Kawali is a fail for me as it's a bit too dry and, well, stiff. While their Relleno Chicken is so-so. I had high hopes for the Angus Bistek Tagalog, but it was missing any bistek sauce that you can put into your rice.

I think the hard and fast rule to their food is don't order anything fried.

The service is actually quite good and snappy, peppered with familiar Filipino hospitality and friendliness.

Melding of Capampangan tradition and comfort Filipino food, an equation to simplify the new restaurant I recently discovered at UP Town Center named Pinac.

My normal road routine doesn't take me to the Katipunan side, or the other side of North. Knowing there are several big schools lined up like Ateneo, Miriam and UP, traffic jam will surely keep me waiting inside the car. I didn't mind jamming with the traffic when I found out about UP Town Center's new restaurants, especially the new Capampangan restaurant, Pinac.

Competing against a multitude of Filipino restaurants in Metro Manila, Pinac stands out because of its heirloom recipes that has been well-kept from generations to generations. Owner Angel Pelayo-Ty safely kept the recipes created by her grandmother and gave more glory by sharing their mouthwatering creations at Pinac.

The Food:
Crispy Hito Balls, Mustasa at Buro - The charisma of the name Crispy Hito Balls, Mustasa at Buro pulled me to order a plate. I really haven't explored Hito or fresh water catfish being used as a common ingredient in our household. That's why the playful name had my attention, putting pressure to my curiosity.

I appreciated its crunchy texture from the outside with a mashy fish filling combination inside. Using the mustasa leaves as a wrap added excitement as I fed myself with this appetizer. According to Pinac's friendly servers, the proper way to eat is to cover the balls with mustasa leaves, slap with buro or fermented rice, then finish it with dipping into Pinac's homemade vinaigrette.

Lechon Kawali with Laing - I thought I was in Pampanga for the day but the laing, which is a Bicolano specialty wanted me to get a hold of it. Powerful ingredients together, laing and lechon kawali, a perfect match for my late lunch with O. Crunchy lechon kawali with thick tender meat on a bed of milky and tacky laing that's not too spicy. Bicolanos migt get upset tasting this laing since it lacks spiciness. But for homegrown Manileños, it could be just right.

It caused bucks to be stuck in traffic along Katipunan but I guess my food trip to Pinac was worth it.

My friends and I had a very good and satisfying dining experience in this place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the ambiance was close to perfect and the seats, especially the couch and the throw pillows gave me a "homey" feeling.
The food are really good. We tried their lengua con setas, seafood kare kare, sisig tofu, lechon kawali with enselada and bagoong rice and all were really just so good. On top of my list is their lengua which was soft and cooked just right.
Not to mention that you get a glass of free tanglad housblend tea when you're a first time diner.
Price is okay if you dine with friends. Our bill was juat around P1900 for 7 people. Fair enough for the quality, taste and service that you get.

I love how they design the place. It is very cozy and pleasing to the eye. In terms of their food prices, it is quite affordable. There was a time when me and my friend step in there for the first time, we thought that the food would be expensive due to its fine dining design. But when we saw the menu, we realized that it's not that expensive.

Food quality is really great. We ordered garlic rice, seafood kare-kare and calamares. Their calamari sauce is really one of a kind. I even asked the service crew for the ingredients. They have big servings also that are usually good for 2-3 people. Pinac is a must try! ♥♥♥

This place is perfect for business meetings I suppose.

We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. We're old fashioned, we eat Filipino on truly special occasions, and we were curious about Capampangan cuisine - and I'd heard from a good friend that there were interesting items on the menu. Price wise, expect to spend about 300-400 per person. Food is priced very reasonably.

We avoided pork and beef on the menu, and went for some of the healthier items, so to speak, like the ensaladang pako - fiddlehead fern salad with a calamansi-patis dressing, and fried duck floss. Oh, this was good, folks. You have to try it.

Then we ordered a dish with burong isda, which you wrap in raw mustard leaf, and was served with croquettes with flaked hito inside (the main part of that appetizer). The croquettes were cold and not as good as they could've been. It was my first time to try burong isda, which had a slightly fermented flavor that I cannot describe but enjoyed. They used a mix of dalag and hito. The bitterness of mustard leaf and buro is a wonder!

We also had baked oysters - which we ordered first but arrived last, fresh from the oven, and chicken pastel, which we liked but didn't stand out.

Great drinks selection, in my opinion. The kamias-kalamansi shake can do with a lot less sugar syrup. We asked them to hold the syrup on the pineapple banana shake, and it tasted perfect.

I like the place for its ambience, really, and I mean really, helpful staff, and the honesty in the cooking. Pinac is an asset to the neighborhood, and I will visit again.
