The food are great, staffs are friendly and helpful. We ordered:
1. Squash Flower Fritters
2. Shrip Aglio Olio
3. Heirloom Beef Salpico
4. Paella Valencia
5. Tamarind Roasted Chicken
6. Lechon Sinigang
7. Cookies with Ice Cream
8. Lengua with Mashed Potatoes
I specifically loved the aglio olio, paella, salpicao and the chicken. I thought the chicken looked “so-so” but when I tasted it, the flavors erupted in my mouth- even the white meat part is very tasty. Everything is awesome except for the sinigang. I normally cook Lechon Sinigang and my family really cooks it well, maybe that’s why I’am picky with my sinigang.
Serving portion is small considering the price point, though I can taste that the ingredients are all out.
DO NOT MISS their cookies because it is freshly baked and TDF!!
Some orders took 30mins but since I’ve had an
heads up, it’s A okay! I prefer my food cooked as I order :-) Heirloom Kitchen serves heirloom recipes.
Will be back!!!
One of the best Spanish restaurants in Tomas Morato. I ordered the Mushroom al ajillo, Tomato soup, and Paella negra. Everything is great except for the Paella which is a little bland.
Staffs were really friendly and our server recommended these dishes.
What we ordered:
1.) Squash Flower Fritters: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-deep fried squash stuffed with herb cheese and served with marinara sauce
2.) Heirloom Beef Lengua: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-ox tongue with mushroom cream sauce and served with mashed potato
3.) Paella Negra: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-squid ink, squid rings and shrimp served with butter and roast garlic
This place is such a good find amongst the many choices in its area. Perfect for dates, and the food is homey. I like how knowledgable the staff are about their menu and how they attend to their guests . Top choices: stuffed bangus and lengua.
Overall:
The delicious taste of the dishes that they serve here is nostalgic of the meals you would get from your mom or lola’s house - but done with an uniquely elegant twist. I can see why it’s called 49-B Heirloom Kitchen, because it makes you feel like you’re right at home.
Although, known for their Beef Lengua and Callos, here are a few things you must absolutely add to dishes to try:
1. Squash Flower Fritters - Appetizer
Sounds a bit strange at first especially when you’re not used to eating squash flowers, but the burst of flavor from the herb cheese is well complimented with their home-made marinara sauce.
2. Adobong Pusit Sa Gata - Main Dish
I could drink this (and I have). With greens mixed in, the eggplants you find are soaked in it’s sauce. The balance between the squid ink and coconut milk is done exquisitely and something I always look forward to having during my visits.
3. Sinigang na Salmon sa Miso - Main Dish
If you’re a fan of Miso Soup and Sinigang, this is the dish for you. These were one of the meals that really hit that nostalgia high, great to have on cool rainy days.
4. Mary Ann’s Chocolate Chip Cookies - Dessert
Prepare yourself. The thing with this dessert is that you’ll be finding it pretty difficult to go back to any store-bought cookies or most cookies really. One order comes with 5 FRESHLY BAKED pieces (trust me, I wish they came with more), and I highly recommend to take it with their fresh milk. Yup, that’s right. They are baked fresh, not reheated. It was a 12 minute wait from when we had asked for it, and it was definitely worth it.
Thank you 49-B Heirloom Kitchen! Can’t wait to try more dishes next time.
Lots of Love,
Toni B.
Great place. Romantic ambience. Price of the food is worth the serving and the taste! Dessert is wonderful. A definite place for any romantic date, or a family event, or if you just to simply want to enjoy a good meal.
The chocolate chip cookies were to die for! Chewy, sweet, and freshly baked. Make sure to order it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, you won’t regret it.

Found this hidden gem in the restaurant-saturated streets of Tomas Morato so we had an early #DinnerDate before my beloved parents go to another party with their senior citizen friends. 😍
We truly enjoyed our orders: Callos ox tripe and chorizo and Paella Negra with lots of shrimps and squid. The menu mentioned to allow 30-45 minutes serving time but we got all our orders in 15-20 minutes only! Two thumbs up for the efficient chef and staff. 😇 For appetizer, we ordered Chicharong Bulaklak. Being health conscious, it's my first time to eat that sinful pork in decades! But this tasted really good, I forgot about my diet.😱 I'll be going back there to have chicharong bulaklak again!😇 We were also able to talk to their lovely owner, who warmly welcomed us with a smile even before entering their resto.😇 It's a quaint and cozy place, perfect for quiet family dinners. There's also free parking in front.😇

Delicious and could someone please sponsor my lunch here everyday?
Ordered:
Fern Salad P275
Squash Flower Fritters P210
Soup of the Day P90
Grilled Herb Pork Chop P285
Mary Ann’s Chocolate Chip Cookies P125
Ideal for sharing, for an average spend of P500 per pax, super worth it! Each dish is delicately seasoned and served exactly how I want them. My Mom who’s my date for that lunch also said she had a pleasant visit and wouldn’t mind giving another visit.
Must Try:
Fern Salad
Cookies!!
Cookies are good, I was hoping for a scoop of vanilla ice cream but, sadly was told they ran out of supply. Another comment is that parking isn’t exactly easy so would be best to commute to avoid the hassle of finding a parking space. Overall, it was great so I will be back soon.
Wasn't able to take pictures of the food for I was soooo hungry already.
Ambiance: Small quaint place, cozy, quiet. Just two tables were filled when we were there.
Food: we had the ff:
Gambas 5/5
Chili Lime Wings 5/5
Lechon Sinigang 5/5
Pinakbet 4/5
Tamarinf Roast Chicken 4/5
Turones 1/5 ----- we were initially served rotten turon! The banana inside tasted rotten. So we sent it back, and they replaced it. The replacement was bigger, wrapping golden brown. Too bad that they served that bad turon else I would have given them a perfect 5/5
Servers were okay. Quick to respond to our needs.
Will go back for the rest of the food! ❤
So far I've tried the lengua, pumpkin soup, yakitori and paella. They're all very good! Most of the dishes are good for sharing so actually, you can get full and satisfied with just 300 to 400. The place is also very nice, homey but with a touch of hotel vibe. I think the place is great for functions like parties and meetings. Dont forget to save space for their freshly baked cookies! Those are very yummy too!
hidden restaurant in T. Morato
Found this hidden gem in the busy streets of Tomas Morato. Luckily when we got there we were the only customers and stayed at the balcony (hello noise pollution)
What we had
•kalderetang kambing
-it was ok nothing special, tho I find it less appealing cause they don't serve it generously (I think there's only 3 pcs of goat and rest was veggies)
•tamarind roast chicken
-Perfect combination for a salty yet sour taste, you'll never go wrong if you mishmash it with rice 👍🏼.
Two thumbs up for the serving and preparation time (well I guess just because we were the only customer that time). Quality and quantity should be improved. Nevertheless I'll be coming back for more 🙌🏼
The Seafood Marinara was ok. But what surprised me were the Tamarind Roast Chicken and Pannacotta on Lemon infused Olive Oil. Both were addicting and quickly became a personal favorite. One thing's for sure, I will be coming back to check out the rest of the items in the menu.
Perfect for intimate gatherings with close friends --- this is what 49-B Heirloom Kitchen is for me.
Lovely, homey, cozy yet classy interiors, lights dimly set which makes it more relaxing --- it's a great choice for those who just desire to momentarily forget the busy world out there. Their cooking makes it a home away from home. Classic dishes like what your lola used to make.
What we ordered:
Beef Lengua --- this one's a classic. A familiar recipe with that melt-in-your-mouth goodness 💛💛💛💛💛
Squash Flower Fritters --- great appetizer. Filled with cheese that bursts a taste of heaven in every bite 💛💛💛💛💛
Carne Asada Nacho Fries --- yup. Those gooey fries with everything on it. Not really what your lola used to make but what the heck, it's delicious 💛💛💛💛💛
Sinigang na Lechon ---- I don't eat lechon. I don't eat sinigang either. But this one won my heart. 💛💛💛💛💛
Tamarind Roast Chicken --- chicken. Who goes wrong with chicken? But the marinade used in this chicken is a mixture of everything nice. Salty-sour, so flavorful you want it to rest a bit in your tongue. Perfect with rice 💛💛💛💛💛
Cookies and milk - soft chewy, chocolate chip cookies dipped in full cream milk. Soooo good I almost forgot my name. Wow. Just wow. Santa Claus would love this. 💛💛💛💛💛
I'm not much of a fan of dishes partnered with rice. Just what I've already mentioned in my past reviews, these types of dishes are usually what I eat at home. But this one is another exception. It's a notch higher than home cooking of course. Partner your visit with friends that you treasure, this one is definitely worth every peso and time spent.
A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a media event at 49-B Heirloom Kitchen. The restaurant, helmed by Chef Erika Aquino, and Doña Elena Olive Oil have partnered to create a special menu for the holidays using Doña Elena Olive Oils. THE DIFFFERENT DOÑA ELENA OLIVE OILS. The different types of Olive Oils can be confusing, especially for people who don’t spend their free time glued to the Food Network.

THE PICKIEST EATER WEB SERIES: EPISODE 2- FILIPINO FOOD 101 AT 49-B HEIRLOOM KITCHEN AND LEONARDO'S LECHON!. After a very long wait (sorry na), Episode 2 of The Pickiest Eater Web Series is finally online! Life has gotten crazy since the Episode One, and my partner at Muvo Media and I finally buckled down to finish this. But fear not, because I assure you Episode 3 won't take another 6 months to finish hehe..
We had their bestsellers, which is the squash flower fritters and the sinigang na lechon.
I've got to admit, when the squash first came out, I thought, "Ampalaya? Nagkamali ba ako ng order? Haha!" But our first bite didn't make us regret it us it was very cheesy! Sarap! And I liked their marinara sauce, it's freshly cooked with the right amount of sour, and not too thick like most that may come from jars.
I am not a really really big fan of Sinigang, but it was their bestseller. And it does taste like lechon indeed. It had lots of vegetables and meat and skin! It's good for 3 people comfortably so I think it is value for money.
The ambience of the place was cozy and rather posh. We went on a Wednesday night, and had the second floor to ourselves with Beatles playing at the background (well almost, because there was another couple in the next table).
I will be back to try their other menu items! But definitely order the squash fritters!

A nice quaint place with a well designed interior boasting a chic-residential design that could be even better with revamped acoustics.
A product of a family's tradition and history; almost always a recipe for success.
FOOD is really good. Mostly traditional turn of the century Hispanic Filipino recipes 49B churns out carefully made dishes that most would enjoy.
Although I wouldn't say it's extraordinary it's definitely good food.
Save for the lengua which is the tour de force of 49B. DO NOT MISS THE LENGUA.
I was so happy to find carne asada fries on the menu and I was even happier when I tried it. Though it wasn't served with guacamole, which is understandable since avocados are seasonal in the Philippines, the right flavors were still there. We really liked the lengua too! I only have praises for this little restaurant. They serve good food with reasonable prices.
49-B Heirloom Kitchen offers amazingly delicious Filipino dishes. Must-try dishes include Sinigang na Lechon, Lengua, Paella, Squash Blossom Fritters...
While I loved the other dishes served us, I could not get my mind of chef Erica's Sinigang na Lechon. Sinigang is my ultimate comfort food. Though I have had this version of my favorite dish in other restaurants, chef Erica's version is by far the most delicious. BTW, she does not use just any lechon for the dish. It's the famous Leonardo's lechon that gets into the 49-B sinigang.
Make sure you leave room for dessert because you have got to try their Chocolate Chip Cookies and Hot Ginger Creme Brulee. Make sure you order more than 1 serving of their cookies because they are crazy good. I mean seriously yummy.
49-B is the perfect venue for family gatherings or even for lunch with foodie friends. It's intimate and cozy. What I love about it is that it is made to look like a lovely ancestral home.
The place may be small but it's comfortable. We ordered sinigang na Lechon, it's with just a perfect level of tamarind's sour taste . The callos and the gambas which i considered one of the best I've tasted. Their credit card system was down then so it took us a while with the payment and ended up paying in cash, but over all experience was a thumbs up.
The interior was very nice! The elegant homie ambiance made our lunch feels more special. We ordered Kare-kare, Lenggua and chicken wings then we left the place with tummies SO FULL! Will be back for sure! 👍
Beautiful interior and delicious, wonderfully plated meals. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the serving sizes are good to generous.
Their fillet mignon is cooked well with the quality and size making it underpriced(which is a great thing, specially if you crave a good piece of steak and don't have a thousand pesos to get it). Their roasted chicken is very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Their cookies are one of the best freshly baked ones I've tasted too.
I would definitely eat here again and again, and well...again.
Place is classy with black and white interior on the ground floor, good airconditioning. Plates and silverwares are of good quality. Servers are polite and attentive.
We are very much satisfied with what we ordered. They serve Filipino/Spanish old time classics and one you can say they've perfected thru time based on the menu description. Menu choices are not overwhelming. We ordered Gambas, Callos, Caesar Salad, Lengua, Fillet Mignon, Chocolate chip cookies (must order, really good! ) and banana ginger brulee. They all taste great. My fave is the Gambas and Beef Lengua. Callos is good except for the carrots. Will come back to try the Sinigang na Lechon. Some items are pricey but you may share it anyway.
My other concern: I still prefer not putting the smoking area by the maindoor to give respect to non-smokers when they passby. With the limited space i just pray smokers will do their business away from entryways.

Oh how i miss the Maryann's Chocolate Chip Cookies with a scoop of Vanilla Icecream. Until now I am dreaming of it... this is one of the desserts you should try in 49-B Heirloom Kitchen. Another dessert I love is the Banana Brulee ... its really a class of its own.
When it comes to the meals, I strongly recommend the Beef Lengua with mushroo. Cream sauce topped with buttered vegetable and a choice of rice or mashed potatoes.
The sinigang na lechon and tamarind chicken is also worth tasting and a good deal for your money.
I like the flavor combination of sinigang and lechon on their sinigang na lechon dish. I would recommend this if not for the pata part and the soup was too thick for me. The lengua was nice though and was light. All in all an acceptable restaurant. Something new to try is all.
Food was good, black bean quesadilla recommended. Service was likewise good and the staff was attentive. There's an area to smoke too. Overall nice dining experience
Everything we ordered was good: Sinigang na Lechon, Seafood Curry with Lychee, Beef Lengua and Tamarind Roast Chicken. Everything was delicious. The service was great too.
Worth your money.... quick service... coming back for more. I thought it would be expensive. But its not. What ive ordered could be consumed by two. Sarap....
